welcome to the apocalypse

Game 7 of the World Series last night was fucking crazy. the Cubs got out to a big lead and then blew it (of course). the game went to extra innings, had a rain delay, crazy manager decisions, a little bit of everything. the Cubs won the game 8-7 in 10 innings for their first World Series title since 1908. i know a good number of Cubs fans that thought this day would never happen. so, enjoy the fuck out of it. you deserve it.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty funny last night.

Any Given Wednesday was really good last night.

You're The Worst was very good last night.

American Horror Story was bloody as hell once again last night. i'm very curious to see who makes it to the end of the season still alive.

Lucha Underground was good last night.

Total Bellas was a little sad once again last night.

NXT was really good. i think i got done watching everything around 3 in the morning.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces and Better Things.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Edmonton. two high powered offenses that are clicking... this might be one of those games that will look like a game out of the 80's. 7-5, 8-6, something crazy like that. or, knowing how the sports gods work, the game will be 1-0. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer later tonight.

Manchester United got scored on today in the first 90 seconds of the game. it was a crazy fucking bicycle kick. they eventually went down 2-0 to Fenerbahce on a perfectly placed free kick. Wayne Rooney scored late to make it 2-1 but they could never find the equalizer. it might have helped if they wouldn't have waited to the end to actually show some fucking urgency. now, Manchester United is in danger of not making it out of the group stage of the Europa League. even worse, Paul Pogba got injured in the first half and given the team's luck at the moment, i'm sure he'll miss the weekend. they play Sunday at Swansea. The Special One will be watching from the stands as part of his punishment from the FA. when it rains, it fucking pours.

i need to go to the grocery store now. mom has medicine i need to pick up and i need to get a few other things. hopefully, i will be back before the hockey game starts tonight.

i'll be on here in the morning tomorrow.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

the first day of i hope it cools down someday soon

we're in the midst of a week or so of temps in the mid 80's with just enough humidity so it feels like shit. sadly, it's what is becoming more like fall weather than anything. it will be fall here just long enough for the leaves to come off the trees and then it will be time for winter. good thing global warming is a myth.

the New York Yankees won again last night, 11-5. Gary Sanchez set the major league record for the fastest anyone has got to 19 home runs in modern day baseball (45 games). the argument for him to be the rookie of the year is getting stronger. the Yankees will go for the sweep of Tampa tonight.

the finale of Big Brother last night was really good. as soon as Paul won the last HOH of the season, i really thought he was going to win the $500,000. that was until he decided to take Nicole to the final rather than James. yet another $450,000 mistake. in one of the closest votes i remember, Nicole won 5-4 over Paul. it was the first time in Big Brother history that a woman won paired against a man.

Any Given Wednesday was excellent last night.

You're The Worst was fucking awesome last night. i wish this episode would have been out when my father died. i truly would have laughed my ass off.

American Horror Story was great last night. i know when the show starts to really get weird, it really gets good. two episodes in and i have a good feeling.

NXT was pretty good last night. the more i watch Cedric Alexander wrestle in WWE, i can't help but wonder what the fuck was ROH thinking letting him go?

Lucha Underground was good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Better Things and Fuck, That's Delicious.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Texans and the Patriots. i have 1 player going tonight and i believe both of my opponents have multiple players going tonight.

team USA plays Czech Republic tonight in a who gives a shit game at the World Cup of Hockey. i doubt i will watch much of it.

i believe the scroll of a grocery list is just about done. i'm going there tomorrow afternoon, hopefully after my pills are ready to be picked up. i will hopefully then blog after that.

that's all for me today kids.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a sunny rain

i remember seeing it once when i was a child on vacation in Florida. the sun was out but it was raining. 1/2 of the Days Inn was in the rain, the other half in the sun. and still when i see it to this day, i'm a little amazed. most people are more concerned that i remember shit vividly from 30 years ago.

i was in a much better mood today. of course, Frontier Communications decided they wanted to test my patience this morning. and when the internet went out, i was livid. but, i had to keep it quiet as my mother was on a conference call for work. luckily (for them), the internet was only out for 3 minutes. i guess i should expect an outage anytime it rains anymore. life out here in the sticks. can't imagine why i want to move.

the Yankees play Boston tonight. they expanded the roster today with the September call ups. i doubt they help at all. hard to believe this will be the last month of Jeter's career. unless a playoff miracle happens. i'm not holding my breath.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i didn't watch much of it as i was busy doing the blog and checking emails. hopefully Michael Sam turns down the invitation to appear on the show next week. i can't imagine this turning out good.

as for tonight, i believe the season finale of Hard Knocks is on. another chance to laugh at the Falcons. can't pass that up.

i got some free music today at NoiseTrade, iTunes, and from Kia. i'm at the point now where if it is free, i'm in. you'll see that below.

i've got a big pile of dishes to do. i suppose i should try to get that done before the baseball game.

oh, i nearly forgot the good news i had yesterday that was completely overshadowed by my anger... i lost 3 pounds last month. i'm not exactly trying to lose weight but i do know i need to lose some. so i figured dropping 3 pounds just by pure apathy is a good start.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

of all the damn days...

let me paint a picture here... i just find the news that a Manchester United player was on his way to a rival and my fucking internet goes down. and it goes down for 5 damn hours. of all the damn days, the first of the month, deadline day around the world for soccer, and Frontier Communications proves once again what a piece of shit company it truly is. if the internet wouldn't have come back on at some point today, i believe you would have found me in jail tomorrow. something was going to burn to the ground.

so i woke up this morning to my fantasy football teams that were drafted. just based on projections, i'm supposed to finish 4th and 5th in the leagues i'm in. i'll take those odds. i think both teams can be championship teams. and that is always what i want to do, pull off the double. if i do that, i might end my fantasy football life on a high. of course, the real fun begins when the waiver wire starts. another reason i can't stand shitty internet service. it's never good for fantasy football.

and then i saw the news that Manchester United was on the verge of signing Falcao. first thing i thought was HOLY FUCKING SHIT. and then i waited and waited, and once my internet came back on, i saw this picture...

i have no clue how he will fit into the lineup, but you can never say no to one of the best strikers in the world. United also added Daley Blind today. he will fit in perfectly as a defensive midfielder. should be an interesting season. of course, there were some goodbyes today, most notably Danny Welbeck going to Arsenal and Chicharito going on loan to Real Madrid. that will take some getting used to. all in all, i would have loved to see some more defensive players come in, but i guess we're going to try to win every game 5-3.

i'm typing this up with one eye on Monday Night Raw. so if i stop making sense, it's because i'm watching wrestling.

the Yankees pissed away a 3-0 lead yesterday, losing 4-3. they might as well wave the white fucking flag by now. they were thankfully off today. they start a series with the Red Sox at home tomorrow.

the shows last night were really good. Big Brother was pretty funny. hopefully, in a little bit, i'm going to read some news that is going to make me really happy on Wednesday. Ray Donovan was good. it was a little predictable, but really graphic. that made up for it. The Strain was fucking awesome. i really love this show. Masters of Sex was pretty good as well.

next Sunday is going to be a cluster fuck with some other shows i love starting back up, along with football, so i basically won't be getting to bed until morning. good times.

i basically did nothing on my labor day. i did finish up a birthday gift for my sister. other than that, it was basically me plotting ways to destroy Frontier Communications in a way that would make Hitler blush. trust me, you don't want to catch me on the wrong day.

that's pretty much all for me for now. hopefully i don't have any shitty internet problems tomorrow. if i do, please get bail money ready. thank you for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

mom just came in to tell me i'm not going to like the Big Brother news. i swear, if that fucking sociopath Frankie wins it all this year, i will consider never watching the show again. a little advice to reality show producers out there, stunt casting is a sure fire way to turn a loyal fan base against the show FOREVER.

hello frustration, my name is...

just pissed away 2 hours watching one of the more frustrating Manchester United matches since i became a fan in 1992. a 0-0 draw on the road in the Champions League is usually fine, but not when you blow 3 point blank chances in the second half and have to play the final 3 minutes a man down because your manager is fucking clueless. Chicharito somehow kicked it over the goal from about 3 yards. RvP hit the post twice, once on a damn penalty kick. and for some fucking reason, Moyes couldn't see that Fellaini was bound and determined to get his second yellow as soon as he got his first, in the first half. thankfully, the whole damn group fucking stunk today so United is still in the lead. next match is Sunday against Arsenal. i'd love to have a good feeling about that, but that escapes me at the moment.

the New York Rangers took all the good they had done in the last week or so and shit all of it away in the first period last night. 2 horrific turnovers that both ended up in the back of the net. a 2-1 loss that just left a shitty taste in my mouth.

thankfully, i won both of my fantasy football matches. i sit in 4th place in both leagues. not bad for the halfway point.

just so you know, i had a dream i was pissing in the bathroom from Trainspotting last night, so i took that as a clue to get up. nearly 2 fucking hours before i wanted to. so, i haven't been happy since about 7:30 last night.

The Voice last night was pretty good. i enjoyed a few of the performances. i do agree with Blake, there is going to be some really good talent leaving way too soon on Thursday. another live show this evening.

Monday Night Raw was ok last night. the opening segment involved CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and the Wyatt Family, so no complaints there. the 6 man tag match was good as well. the rest of the show was just sort of there to me. although, the sight of Kane in a suit and tie was a little shocking. of course, he has a movie coming out soon where he's not wearing a mask, so i get it.

i figure i'll watch a little PBS this evening as well. a couple of things on there i want to watch.

if my anger happens to persist through the night, expect to read about me typing up a slew of poems tomorrow. along with the usual Wednesday bitching.

that's all. peace and chicken grease.

a rainy day of what could have been

so i got up this morning in a pretty good mood. rare, as it was raining and cold. after eating a little breakfast and feeding the cats, i settled in for the Manchester United match. RvP scores in the first half. a couple of bad breaks but a way too flat second half leads to once again my biggest gripe with Moyes. their is no killer instinct, hence, no one is afraid to play at Old Trafford anymore. a 1-1 draw that is beyond unacceptable. not the start of the day i was hoping for.

so, after a quick shower, it was a stop at a friend's baby shower. saw some of my sister's friends and some people i grew up next to. wasn't too bad as i was only in there for 20 minutes at most. then, off to the Red and Blue Game at the University of Dayton arena. anyone that knows me knows that i love basketball. played it for years. had arguably one of the best shots of anyone in the area i grew up in. i have rooted for Dayton in college basketball since 1983 or so. the women's team is going to be really good once again. they are deep and very talented. the men's team is deeper this year but have a few holes to fill to reach their potential. Scoochie came as advertised from NYC. i love guards from there. i have no doubt that kid will be starting sometime this season and will be a star. Dyshawn Pierre looks stronger and should be in line for a monster season. if this team can shake off the rust from the players that sat out last year and if the newbies can contribute when needed, this team could be sniffing the tournament. but that will mostly depend on who becomes the reliable scorer in crunch time. can't wait for the season to start.

so after that got over, my mom and i went to our favorite sports bar and caught a quarter or so of the Ohio State game. looked like the usual take my opponent lightly game that became a tussle. i watched the end of the game back at home. Ohio State pulled out the game in the 4th quarter. 19th straight win. and sadly, my only victory beer of the day.

the New York Rangers laid a fucking egg this evening against one of its biggest rivals and the only team in the NHL without a victory. i felt like such a fool to actually believe that the Washington game was the real team. no Nash, no Cally, no fucking goals. a 4-0 drubbing at New Jersey. thankfully, i didn't bother to watch after the first period.

so the rest of this evening will be some more college football, some music on PBS, and hopefully i will still be awake for ROH.

tomorrow will be a day of fantasy football and the usual Sunday night shows. i will probably blog again after all that. in the middle of the night here most likely.

hopefully everyone is enjoying the new photos. i really think they are some of the better ones i have done.

hope this finds everyone well. a big thank you to Natascha Hoover for the kind words over on LinkedIn. i really appreciate it.

one of those days where the rain feels like i'm stuck in Florida

it absolutely poured today, on and off. and it was around 80 degrees with humidity around 90%. felt just like the rain in Florida. not exactly the best thing when you're hoping for some dry days to take the corn off and paint the barns. i wouldn't be shocked if we got close to 2 inches today.

i had an interesting day of waiting. waiting for the plumber, waiting for the Fed Ex guy. it's kind of funny, as i remember when i lived out here alone. whenever i wanted someone to call or show up, i always did something else. i'd take a shower and the phone would ring. take a shit and there's a knock on the door. no such luck today.

the plumber showed up around 2 to see what the fuck is up with our water softener. i laughed as none of the shit he brought with him actually worked, so he took a sample of the water and will return sometime. didn't say when, but this is all under warranty, so i don't really care.

the Fed Ex guy finally showed up around 5 with my wine. so i'm enjoying a glass of red while typing this. should be interesting to see how quickly i drink this. i'm not a big wine drinker but just felt i needed to upgrade my alcoholism finally. so expect some ramblings about wine every now and then.

i got a closer look at my cat Michael Jackson last night. looked like a young coyote got him on his right side and has rendered his hind legs useless. i noticed this as the dumb ass was trying to climb underneath my truck. last i saw him he was going under the corn crib. i didn't see him when i fed them today, so i figure he has probably moved on. hopefully no longer in pain.

The Bridge last night was good. it didn't answer many questions but brought forth some more. and a few more twists and a huge plot point for the next season. which will come in 2014.

Duck Dynasty made me laugh, as always.

the New York Rangers play late tonight out in Arizona. hopefully they start the season off good. also, there is some playoff baseball and the NFL this evening. so, after The Big Bang Theory it will be nothing but sports.

hopefully i will get cracking on sending out some poems tomorrow. i don't always like a Friday submissions but i really don't feel like waiting until next week. so, a morning of typing awaits me. unless of course i get the nerve to type around 2 in the morning. who knows.

that's all for now. hope this finds everyone well.

failure

i'll start this off by saying i'm a very superstitious person. way past the point of it being quirky... it's more of a psychosis at times. so, when i got the haircut yesterday in the middle of a Yankee winning streak, it was done to tell myself that little mundane things aren't going to wreck my universe.

so, when the Yankees were down last night, 7-2, i more or less was ripping myself a new asshole. then i turn back and the Yankees are winning 8-7. hope springs. then, of course, Mo blows the save, thanks to a horrible throw from Austin Romine and the Yankees eventually lose the game 9-8 in 10 innings. a big thank you to that blind fat fuck lousy excuse of a fucking umpire Joe West for his blown call in the 10th. nothing like yelling like an insane person for 20 minutes about how you hope a man's family dies of AIDS because the dumb ass can't tell what a check swing strike actually is. thankfully, Tampa lost so the Yankees are still 2 1/2 games out of a playoff spot. but, if a losing streak starts, i undoubtedly will bring it all back to my haircut and how it's all my fault. it's a sickness.

i got the result i wanted on Big Brother last night. both cunts are gone. now, the show won't be as entertaining, but at least there should be a winner who isn't a complete douchebag.

as for the NFL game, i'm very happy i'm not playing against anyone who has Peyton Manning this week. and i would feel really good about last night's game if i would have started the TE from Denver who caught 2 TD's instead of having him sitting on my bench. whoops.

the season finale of Wilfred was the usual cliffhanger that i normally expect. didn't expect a death to go along with it, but i'm certainly interested to see where the show goes now.

in a few hours i will be on my way to Columbus to see my sister and some of her friends. plus, the kid that grew up next to me who is now a college graduate and a young woman. i haven't seen her in years. i should feel pretty damn old tonight.

hopefully i get back in time to catch some of the team USA vs. Costa Rica World Cup Qualifying match. if the USA can pull this one off, next Tuesday against Mexico is going to be really sweet.

no matter what time i get back, there's a decent chance the Yankees vs. Red Sox might still be going on. i almost forgot what those games are like when both teams are "good". slow pitch softball games.

and seeing that the first NFL weekend of the season is coming, i might as well get used to either being in my chair watching the television or on the computer checking stats. fun.

to top off everything today, i spent most of the morning with the shits. you simply can't imagine my joy when i go after i have already taken the medication to stop me from going. and people wonder why i rarely like to be in public.

chalk this up as yet another day where i wonder what the fuck i was thinking by telling the 8 year old me no when it came to suicide. just 4 months to go until the 30th year anniversary of that mistake.

hope everyone has a great weekend. for all my soccer (football) friends around the world, here's hoping your national team does well. for all my gambling buddies, start your betting season slow. trust me, it works. and lastly, for the few of you who read this blog and couldn't give 2 shits about sports, i will try to get some poetry and artsy shit for you in the coming days.

until i come to you tomorrow, hopefully without a hangover...

so much for doom and gloom

so i got up this morning ready for the return of the Premier League. hats off to NBC for their coverage of it. i truly love being able to see any of the matches. but the one i paid the most attention to started at 12:30. i had heard for the last week or so how Manchester United was going to fail this season, all the turmoil, lack of player signings, etc etc. so, all they do is go out at the team that finished 9th last season and win 4-1. 2 goals from RvP and 2 goals from Welbeck. Rooney played about 30 minutes and had 2 assists. it's rather obvious that he wants to be elsewhere from his body language. it is also really apparent that the club isn't going to sell him. as long as they win, i couldn't care less. a great start to the season.

the Yankees won last night in Boston 10-3. i had to laugh as Alfonso Soriano stayed hotter than hot with another HR and 4 RBI. Mark Reynolds, recently let go from the Indians, mostly because he hadn't hit a HR in 2 months, goes deep in his first at bat for the Yankees. if they can get some pitching and a few guys can stay hot over a month or so, i really think this team has a chance to make the playoffs. first time i have felt that all season. due to the stupid blackout rules, i'll only be able to follow today's game online. i figure i'll check in from time to time.

i do plan on watching some UFC tonight as i found Fox Sports 1 on DIRECTV this morning. so i have yet another sports channel to occupy my time. i also plan on watching ROH late tonight. an evening of combat.

hats off to my friend Sam Roberts, Professional Broadcaster, for the great interviews he's getting out in Los Angeles. go to his YouTube channel and check them out.

that's all for today. i have a fridge full of beer and i'm going to go enjoy a great victory.

hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start.

swimming in the river of nostalgia

so i survived yesterday much better than i expected. it was kind of funny how people were shocked to see me. most of the people i hadn't seen since graduation, some 19 years ago. i came close to actually having fun. might have even sold a book or two and got this blog a little more exposure. but, it wouldn't be my life if there wasn't something negative to balance all the positive out. as i was leaving the stadium, i started to feel a bit queasy. i decided to head back to the farm instead of going to BW3 with the rest of the gang as i didn't want another one of these situations:
http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/100s/issue117socialanxiety.html

by staying in i did get to see the Yankees actually play a decent game. Nova pitched great AGAIN, the Grandy man shook off some more rust, and the hammer of god got another save. a nice 3-0 win. hopefully they can win today and get the series. Hughes is on the mound, so i hope the offense feels like scoring today.

ROH last night was really good. just love to see an organization give a spotlight to good tag team wrestling. as a child that grew up on The Rock n Roll Express, Midnight Express, The Road Warriors, The Fabulous Freebirds, and The Rockers, i definitely don't mind seeing great tag teams wrestle. it's sadly a lost art. i enjoyed the episode enough to watch it again today at noon.

i figure i will bounce around some sports this afternoon. a little golf, NASCAR, some baseball, maybe some soccer, all while the house is airing out. always nice when the windows can be open during the dog days of summer.

tonight will be my usual Sunday night viewing of Big Brother, The Newsroom, Ray Donovan, and Total Divas. of course, with shark week starting up, i may flip in some of that as well.

after i mow the grass tomorrow i'm planning on going through some poems and getting a couple submissions out this week.

hope everyone is well. to those of you checking out this blog for the first time, welcome. hope you enjoy. feel free to leave a comment or email me what you think of it. it truly was very nice seeing some people that i have some really fond memories of yesterday.

of course, i got a phone call from my sister this morning bitching about the facebook shit storm i caused with my appearance yesterday. she was getting phone calls at 8 this morning wondering if that was me in some pictures posted. that really made me laugh.

until we meet again...

where does the time go

i was a little shocked last night when the Yankees scored 3 runs in the 9th to beat the Dodgers 3-0. i didn't expect that at all. and as much as i would like to think that could be the start of something, 99% of me knows this season is a lost cause. but i did enjoy the victory beer.

let me peel back the onion a bit and show you what my day has been like. i did the dishes this morning with my back only hurting a little. i have a hard time standing for more than 15 minutes at a time. took my first shit in 48 hours. then, as i was washing my hands and watching the water pressure get weaker, i knew the water filter must be full again. we've been on this month long shit now of having to change the damn filter every 10 days. i then take a shower and get ready to go into to town to mail a book out and get the mail. i stop at the end of the lane, walk across the street and there's no paper. mom later tells me it was there this morning, so i guess some fucker stole the newspaper. i then have my lunch of celery and peanut butter, not because i'm trying to be healthy, but more because i'm too fucking lazy to get some more bread at the store.

hope you enjoyed that...

The Bridge last night was excellent. i really enjoyed the twist at the end that i didn't see coming but really opens up a ton of possibilities now on who the killer is. absolutely the best show on television right now.

tonight i'll be watching Big Brother and Wilfred. i believe i know which person is going home tonight on Big Brother, just not sure if it's the black person the racist HOH wants to leave. i'd love to see it be a tie and she then has to vote out someone.

Wilfred should be the usual hilariousness that i love. i have to hand it to FX. they really have built quite the stable of great shows.

i did catch bits and pieces of the MLS All-Star game last night. from what i saw i don't believe i missed much at all.

no Yankees tonight so i'll probably catch some highlights on the MLB Network as the night goes along. and if i really get desperate, i'll watch some pro wrestling from TNA that i hardly ever watch.

as a bright spot today, i did download some great music on NoiseTrade for FREE. if you are a fan of Lucero, The Black Crowes, Alabama Shakes, Kings of Leon, etc. i urge you to get this music. it's only up for 2 weeks. you can find it by going here:
http://noisetrade.com/thedirtyguvnahs/somewhere-beneath-these-southern

that's all for today. i'm hoping to mow some grass tomorrow, so i doubt i will blog anything until much later in the day. or, after the Yankees game in San Diego, which means it would be early Saturday morning most likely. until then...
