so, today has been one of those days that no matter how positive i try to keep my mind, i am fighting a losing battle. right as i think i am nearly symptom free, i'll start coughing. i know i am trending in the right direction, but the pace of it is frustrating the shit out of me. and then i got the news today that they want to send my mother to a nursing home for her rehab. and they have to find one that accepts patients with COVID. so now i am in the impossible situation of do i let them put her into a home for hopefully, only a few weeks. or, do i demand that she comes home and possibly dies in a few weeks. the last thing i want is for her to die at the same age my father died at. second, she has more life left in her. she does seem to be more out of the fog that she was in. so, i'm hoping the infection has cleared up and she will be beating COVID soon. i am hoping that i will be symptom free by the weekend. then, i will go get a test done to hopefully test negative and then do a little grocery shopping.
the New York Knicks won last night in Denver, 106-103.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
AEW Dynamite was really good last night.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night. i did guess both eliminations correctly though.
Hard Knocks last night was pretty good.
the two episode finale of American Horror Story: NYC was great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and NJPW.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Seattle.
i might watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Packers and Titans.
i did get my laundry done last night. i plan on doing the dishes tonight and i will probably vacuum the house as well.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
until then kids...

Overcoats - Horsegirl
Half Dream - Roses
Deer Fellow - Unravel
Samia w/papa mbye - Mad At Me
"You can tell everything from the eyes." - Jeff Buckley
and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
to say i was a little pissed last night would be a huge fucking understatement. and it wasn't from one of my sports teams or some poems getting rejected or any of the first culprits you may think of. it was due to the main fucking culprit in my life these days... FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS. the absolute worst piece of shit company i have ever dealt with in my ENTIRE fucking life. i was trying to download a song that i got for FREE last night and was wondering why i was having problems. i look over at the modem and sure enough, the fucking internet is out. was the weather bad? no. was there too many people on it? it was almost 11:45 at night. most people in this town are in bed by 10. i'm guessing it was something like some fucker hit the wrong button and couldn't give a shit. 2 hours later, it was still out. i was so fucking angry i went to sleep without having a victory beer. now, that's some anger if you know me. i got up at 5 this morning and it was back on. if not, i might be in jail for torching a building. chalk this up as reason 3,672 of why i am looking forward to moving.
my clusterfuck Monday was good. Monday Night Raw was pretty good after the first hour. thankfully, i didn't watch much of that. of course, i feel a big tease coming on with Daniel Bryan.
Gotham was fucking brilliant once again. this show is easily one of the best shows on television.
the New York Rangers overcame being completely brain dead at times last night to win 6-3. they play tomorrow night in a HUGE game against Boston. here are the highlights from last night:
since i fell asleep last night, i had to do the dishes this morning. i hit my fucking left leg on the dishwasher as i was taking the clean dishes out. nothing quite like drawing blood at 7 in the morning. and trust me, it still fucking hurts.
Manchester United advanced in the FA Cup today, winning 3-0. i was hoping for more goals, but Cambridge United put up a good fight. the boys now travel to Preston in the next round 13 days from now. i really hope this is the year they bring the FA Cup back to where it belongs. here are some highlights from today:
there really isn't much on tv tonight i'm planning on watching. maybe some college basketball, maybe some hockey. i'll probably just enjoy some victory beers and ice my fucking leg.
i'll be on here sometime tomorrow afternoon. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...

Fall Out Boy - Centuries
PVRIS - St. Patrick
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors - Shine Like Lightning
Deana Carter - Strawberry Wine
Muddy Waters - Champagne & Reefer (Live)
"The darkest hour in any man's life is when he sits down to plan how to get money without earning it." - Horace Greeley
i woke up this morning with the usual amount of back pain. by the middle of the morning, my back was in knots. i checked the weather and noticed we have a major cold front coming through soon. not sure how much snow we're going to get as i'm currently avoiding local news as much as i can. my best guess is around 5 to 8 inches. that'll be fun after 2 days in the 60's. the temperature is supposed to drop almost 50 degrees in the span of a day. fuck me running.
i did manage to stay awake for all of the Sunday night shows i watch. i am really happy i did. True Detective was brilliant last night. it had me on the edge of my seat. they tied up enough loose ends for me not to whine about certain parts left unanswered. i just wonder how many creepy fucks are like that in the swamp. Girls last night had me laughing, mostly because of the horrific acting. plus, throw in a cameo from one of my favorite comedians, Jim Florentine. recipe for a winner. Episodes was actually much better than it has been for weeks. Shameless was great once again. i once again got to see what i missed by not going to college. House of Lies was great once again. overall, a really good night of television.
today has been one of those sleepy Mondays for me. when my back feels like this, i just want to fucking sleep and crawl into a hole. a comfortable hole. a hole with high speed internet as i'm always in the mood for porn even when my back does hurt. find the pleasure in the pain.
tonight will be the usual channel flipping between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. i'm hoping both shows are good. i may sprinkle in some hockey as well as this is the last week of the fantasy regular season. i have sowed up the #1 seed for the playoffs, but that isn't good enough for me. i've spent all this time on it, i might as well win it.
a big thank you to everyone for the comments on my last poem that got published. i do appreciate it.
sorry to cut this short, but i've got a sink full of dishes to do.
hope everyone had a great weekend. hope you're enjoying your pain better than i am. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow, hopefully long before this fresh hell hits the farm.
be well my enemies...
music:
The 1975 - Self Titled
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
"All actors should experience public failure." - Olivia Wilde
i was a little shocked last night when the Yankees scored 3 runs in the 9th to beat the Dodgers 3-0. i didn't expect that at all. and as much as i would like to think that could be the start of something, 99% of me knows this season is a lost cause. but i did enjoy the victory beer.
let me peel back the onion a bit and show you what my day has been like. i did the dishes this morning with my back only hurting a little. i have a hard time standing for more than 15 minutes at a time. took my first shit in 48 hours. then, as i was washing my hands and watching the water pressure get weaker, i knew the water filter must be full again. we've been on this month long shit now of having to change the damn filter every 10 days. i then take a shower and get ready to go into to town to mail a book out and get the mail. i stop at the end of the lane, walk across the street and there's no paper. mom later tells me it was there this morning, so i guess some fucker stole the newspaper. i then have my lunch of celery and peanut butter, not because i'm trying to be healthy, but more because i'm too fucking lazy to get some more bread at the store.
hope you enjoyed that...
The Bridge last night was excellent. i really enjoyed the twist at the end that i didn't see coming but really opens up a ton of possibilities now on who the killer is. absolutely the best show on television right now.
tonight i'll be watching Big Brother and Wilfred. i believe i know which person is going home tonight on Big Brother, just not sure if it's the black person the racist HOH wants to leave. i'd love to see it be a tie and she then has to vote out someone.
Wilfred should be the usual hilariousness that i love. i have to hand it to FX. they really have built quite the stable of great shows.
i did catch bits and pieces of the MLS All-Star game last night. from what i saw i don't believe i missed much at all.
no Yankees tonight so i'll probably catch some highlights on the MLB Network as the night goes along. and if i really get desperate, i'll watch some pro wrestling from TNA that i hardly ever watch.
as a bright spot today, i did download some great music on NoiseTrade for FREE. if you are a fan of Lucero, The Black Crowes, Alabama Shakes, Kings of Leon, etc. i urge you to get this music. it's only up for 2 weeks. you can find it by going here: http://noisetrade.com/thedirtyguvnahs/somewhere-beneath-these-southern
that's all for today. i'm hoping to mow some grass tomorrow, so i doubt i will blog anything until much later in the day. or, after the Yankees game in San Diego, which means it would be early Saturday morning most likely. until then...
music:
Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell
Phantogram - Nightlife
The Dirty Guv'nahs - Somewhere Beneath These Southern Skies
Phantogram - Eyelid Movies
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes - Here
"Somebody's boring me. I think it's me." - Dylan Thomas
waking up to the smell of a skunk, doing the dishes, back pains, a bleeding asshole, worrying about my friend who went under the knife this morning, thoughts of death, flipping off a cop who used his lights just to get around traffic and wondering what the fuck this guy in a suit is doing giving me the evil eye at the post office.
needless to say my choice in music was a bit angry today.
Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
Rage Against the Machine - Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium
Alice in Chains - Dirt
"I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow
