one of those days where i definitely feel like an old man

maybe it was when i was looking for the butterscotch chips that mom wanted... maybe it was straining to bend down and get some cheese... fucking one of those days where i feel like an old man. for those that are interested, my doctors appointment went well yesterday. my weight was down, my A1C was down and my blood pressure was very good. so, all of them were pleased that i seem to be headed back in the right direction. the Trulicity has definitely worked so far.

here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:

the New York Rangers won last night at home against Washington, 4-3. they are now up 2-0 in the series. Game 3 will be Friday at Washington.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

the New York Yankees won last night at home against Oakland, 4-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

here are your NBA playoff highlights from last night.

the finale of Shogun was very good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.

NXT was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer, NJPW and the season finale of American Horror Story.

grocery shopping went pretty well today. nothing was that crowded, so that helped.

i got home in time to watch the second half of the Manchester United game today at home against Sheffield United. the boys found a way to win while not playing great again. Manchester United won 4-2.

not sure what i am doing for dinner tonight.

i have to take the Highlander in to the dealership tomorrow at 9:45 AM. so, i know i need to get to bed a little earlier than normal tonight if i want to be able to function like whatever the fuck a normal human is like.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon.

until then kids...

independence, what a concept

so i've been up since 5 this morning, mostly because i'm not ashamed to admit that i love pro wrestling enough that i sacrifice sleep for it. and for at least two matches, it was absolutely worth it. more on that later.

happy July 4th to everyone. enjoy the fireworks, hot dogs, burgers, beers, and whatever else you do on this day:

last night was an interesting one. first off, team USA did not play that well against Guatemala, but still came away with a 4-0 win. hopefully they play better when the Gold Cup starts in a few days. i did like this goal though:
it's about fucking time...

the New York Yankees got behind 3-0 last night and i figured, given the pitcher they were facing, it was done. silly me. Tampa took their starter out and the Yankees offense finally showed up. Tex hit a huge 3 run HR that tied the game in the 8th. the Yankees pissed away chance after chance to win the game. and then the 12th inning happened. i'm fucking sick and tired of Girardi over managing this team. he brought in a reliever when he didn't need to and of course, Tampa goes up 5-3. thankfully, Tampa walked the lead off batter of the bottom of the 12th. then the inning goes like this: strikeout, hit by A-Rod beating the shift, single by Tex to score a run, and then boom. there was fireworks going off outside the stadium. Brian McCann made sure they went off inside as well.
easily the best win of the season. they play again this afternoon.

NJPW was excellent last night. hopefully one day the promotion will start airing matches in this country that are currently going on.

enjoy a quick music break boys and girls:

the WWE event this morning, Beast in the East, started off great. Jericho vs. Neville was a very good match. the ladies match was good, not great. i did like how they booked Brock Lesnar as he virtually killed The New Day. but for some fucking reason, the WWE put on the match that should have finished the show next. Balor vs. Owens was a fucking classic. and as much as i love Kevin Owens, this was the proper thing to see after the match:

hopefully this means Kevin Owens will be winning Cena's US Championship in 2 weeks. the "main event" ended up being Cena and Ziggler vs. Kane and King Barrett. who the fuck gives a shit about a match that you could easily see on television on any Monday or Thursday. stupid, stupid, stupid. if i was booking the show, i put Owens and Balor on last and tell the vets to suck it up, they are better than you are. get over it. all in all, i'm glad i was up to watch it. it just could have been a much better show if the 3rd match of the year that Kevin Owens has been in would have gone on last.

the rest of my day looks like this: watching the Hot Dog eating contest, watching the Yankees, watching some soccer, including the Copa America final between Chile and Argentina. i figure tonight i'll find some fireworks on the television somewhere and then watch ROH and god knows what else. in between all that sitting on my ass, i'm figuring there will be some food bad for me, a long nap, a few items put together that mom wants done, and some bird watching as that is what passes for entertainment in this glorified retirement community i'm in.

i did talk to a stranger on Google+ this morning. i know, you have heard this before. her name is Rose, single, no kids, etc. so far, she hasn't mentioned needing money or Nigeria, so things are looking up. plus, her picture looks nice as well. that is probably a red flag, but i have the dreamer's disease.

that's all for me today. hope everyone has a great weekend. be safe. have fun. stay out of jail.

anger is a gift

to say i was a little pissed last night would be a huge fucking understatement. and it wasn't from one of my sports teams or some poems getting rejected or any of the first culprits you may think of. it was due to the main fucking culprit in my life these days... FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS. the absolute worst piece of shit company i have ever dealt with in my ENTIRE fucking life. i was trying to download a song that i got for FREE last night and was wondering why i was having problems. i look over at the modem and sure enough, the fucking internet is out. was the weather bad? no. was there too many people on it? it was almost 11:45 at night. most people in this town are in bed by 10. i'm guessing it was something like some fucker hit the wrong button and couldn't give a shit. 2 hours later, it was still out. i was so fucking angry i went to sleep without having a victory beer. now, that's some anger if you know me. i got up at 5 this morning and it was back on. if not, i might be in jail for torching a building. chalk this up as reason 3,672 of why i am looking forward to moving.

my clusterfuck Monday was good. Monday Night Raw was pretty good after the first hour. thankfully, i didn't watch much of that. of course, i feel a big tease coming on with Daniel Bryan.

Gotham was fucking brilliant once again. this show is easily one of the best shows on television.

the New York Rangers overcame being completely brain dead at times last night to win 6-3. they play tomorrow night in a HUGE game against Boston. here are the highlights from last night:

since i fell asleep last night, i had to do the dishes this morning. i hit my fucking left leg on the dishwasher as i was taking the clean dishes out. nothing quite like drawing blood at 7 in the morning. and trust me, it still fucking hurts.

Manchester United advanced in the FA Cup today, winning 3-0. i was hoping for more goals, but Cambridge United put up a good fight. the boys now travel to Preston in the next round 13 days from now. i really hope this is the year they bring the FA Cup back to where it belongs. here are some highlights from today:

there really isn't much on tv tonight i'm planning on watching. maybe some college basketball, maybe some hockey. i'll probably just enjoy some victory beers and ice my fucking leg.

i'll be on here sometime tomorrow afternoon. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

adrift in a bloody fog

it certainly goes without saying, i've had better days here on earth. i fell right back into my old routines last night, not getting to bed until well after 5 AM this morning. i shaved, got my shower in, did the dishes, talked to a woman in Colombia, watched way too much porn and indie wrestling videos until i ran out of gas. of course, 4 hours later i was up. that's the life of this poet.

then, i had my first shit of the day. it crept up on me while i was doing my laundry. thankfully, i made it to the bathroom. and when i looked at what was in the bowl, i knew the rest of my day was going to be miserable. just my luck, my back started to give out about 25 minutes into this process. just fucking lovely. and there was just enough moisture in the air that my arthritis was flaring up as well. these are the days when a little demon pops up on my shoulder and reminds me that men MUCH greater than i am have killed themselves, what am i waiting for?...

so, imagine the joy of doing the rest of my laundry, going into town to get the mail, eating lunch, watching sports, etc... all while knowing my asshole is bleeding. good times.

thankfully, Manchester United lifted my spirits a bit today. they won 2-1 over Stoke City. given that Rooney nor Di Maria played today, i'm pleased with the result. they are slowly turning the corner to becoming a top 4 team again. here's the game in a GIF:

as for last night, the New York Rangers were up 3-2 and had just killed off a 5 on 3 power play when they suddenly just went to shit. 4 straight goals over the next 30 minutes for Tampa Bay and the Rangers lose 6-3. thank fucking god we don't play that team again this season. and god willing, we won't see them in the playoffs either.

Monday Night Raw was quite honestly just about 3 hours of filler. i was so fucking bored that i actually fell asleep during the main event.

The Voice was good last night. i saw bits and pieces of the performances last night and this morning on YouTube. while many of them were good, nothing really blew my mind. i suppose i'm still bitter about the results from last week. i'm interested to see who gets voted off tonight.

i ended up ending my 6 game losing streak with my one fantasy football team. of course, my other team had their 8 game winning streak stopped in the other league i'm in. but, that team did qualify for the playoffs, so that goal is accomplished.

i heard back from Russell at The Camel Saloon on my poetry submission from yesterday. he passed on what i sent. back to the drawing board i suppose. but, that certainly fits with how my day was going.

that's all for me today. i'm off to go ice down my back and figure out what to eat for dinner.

thanks again for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.

one step closer to being blind

so i had an interesting time at the eye doctor today. i was getting my yearly checkup, being a good boy. well, it turns out my right eye has gotten significantly worse since last year. and, when they did the digital images of my eyes, there was a spot on my left eye. the doctor said it could be pigment, could be nothing, could be something, only time will tell. so, like the cynical asshole i am, i immediately add it to the list of things that will kill me; blood clots in my left leg and both lungs and now a spot on my left eye... good times. but, i do get new glasses and sunglasses out of all this. of course, my health insurance doesn't cover vision, so as mom told me when she wrote out the check for nearly $700, merry christmas. but, at least i'll see better (hopefully).

i was not expecting this kind of news today. so, you can take a guess what i'll be writing about tonight in my next writing session.

i spent a little time on NoiseTrade today getting some FREE music. i'll post the links below.

the New Orleans Saints disappointed the shit out of me last night, losing their third straight home game 34-27. but, thanks to being in the worst division i can EVER remember in the NFL, they still have a chance at making the playoffs. this is turning into an AWFUL season.

sure enough, my fantasy team did lose that lead last night and ended up losing by 20. funny thing is, if i would have played ANY other team in the league, i would have won. good times.

The Voice was pretty good last night. two performances blew me away...
and then, BY FAR, the BEST performance of the season...

i'll be watching tonight to see who makes the top 10. i think there are about 5 that are absolute locks...

Monday Night Raw was ok at best. i did love that Daniel Bryan was back on television. and i loved the match between Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper and then Bray Wyatt, but that was about it. to have that shitty of a show after a major ppv is sad. of course, this all means The Authority will come back to save us from ourselves and then we'll all understand that Survivor Series was mostly pointless.

Gotham was GREAT last night. i am truly loving this show. sadly, it doesn't come back on until January. but, that does free up by Monday nights a bit for the next few months.

Men in Blazers was pretty funny.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i may have to take my mother shopping for Thanksgiving shit. i'm guessing i'll be back on here in the afternoon after i hopefully type up a few fresh poems.

thanks to everyone for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

it's not all it's cracked up to be...

i snuck in a nap yesterday while watching some soccer over in Europe. it was one of those naps where you are so damn tired you fall asleep in a horrific position, so i think may have done more harm than good. my back is still feeling it.

my buddy did come over to watch Ohio State beat UC last night, 50-28. the game certainly felt much closer than the final score. he ate before he got here, so it looks like i'm going to be stuffing my face today. it is good being around him again. we were damn near inseparable in high school. hard to imagine it's been so long since we've hung out together.

the Yankees lost yesterday 10-4, not that it matters. today is the final game of Derek Jeter's career. i guess he's going to DH again today. he went 1-2 doing that yesterday, leaving in the 5th inning. hopefully i will flip over in time to catch whatever happens today. helps that my football team isn't playing until tonight. i saw reports this morning that the manager ripped the team the day of the home finale. might be time to fire him if he thought that was the right time for that to happen. where was he the rest of the fucking season? as sad as today will be for me, i'll be so fucking happy this season will be over.

like i said before, the New Orleans Saints play tonight against Dallas. that throws a wrench in my television viewing tonight. if all goes as planned (when does that happen?) i'll start off with the game and then go to Boardwalk Empire. then, i'll watch The Strain, flipping back to the game during commercials. hopefully sometime after Last Week Tonight, the game will end. and i will hopefully be enjoying a victory beer while watching Total Divas and the season finales of Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. and if all goes well, i'll be in bed before the sun is starting to come up.

my fantasy football lineups are set. i have no major injury concerns (knock on wood) so i have no major scrambling that has to happen later today. i don't like either of my matchups today. thankfully, i won't know the results until after the game tomorrow night. maybe i'll surprise myself today.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Saturday Night Live was a little odd. when it was good, it was great (Pete Davidson). when it was bad, it was car wreck fucking bad. you were going to look and you were hoping to see dead people. not sure if it was nerves or the weight of it being 40 years, but shit... at least the season can't get any worse (i hope).

well, that's all for me today. i have trash to pick up, cats to feed and breakfast to eat before i just lounge around for the rest of the day.

hopefully everyone is having a great weekend. unless you are a fan of that shit school to the north of me (Michigan), i imagine you are.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

anxiety and the heat

looks like we are now officially in summer. another day near 90 degrees. those 3 weeks of spring were nice.

mom needed to go to the grocery store today, so i volunteered to come along as i know the heat and her aren't friends. but, of course, i don't have any good shorts clean, so i have to wear the only pair of jeans i have that i like. jeans, 90 degrees, public situation... what could go wrong.

on the drive over, my stomach started to feel a little weird. i figured it was just nerves of the Rangers game tonight. and the good kind of anxiety... something i am looking forward to so much, etc. etc. about 2 minutes into the store, i have to go to the bathroom. not good.

i HATE shitting in public. i avoid it at all costs. today, of course, was an exception. as soon as i sat down, here it comes. at least it was mostly solid. i gave a few courtesy flushes as there were other people in the bathroom. after 15 minutes, i clean my hands good and ignore the young fucker next to me trying to start up a conversation. i suppose i look like a bear in the gay community, but i'm not a part of the gay community. not that there's anything wrong with that.

mom asked me when i walked out of the bathroom if i was ok and i told her well, i don't believe any turds are going to fall out of my jeans as we walk through the store, so let's go. and i of course said this loud enough that anyone could hear it.

needless to say, there will be poems about this.

the Yankees won last night in extra innings, 6-4. that was a victory beer i wasn't expecting. they play again tonight. i have no clue how much of the game i will watch.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i love how creepy The Wyatt Family is. and stringing the championship situation out with Daniel Bryan is the smart way to go. should get more people interested in the PPV this Sunday.

other than that, i caught a little of the basketball game and the rest of the night was emails. i'm not used to getting this many poems published so close together, so i've been a busy boy. there's going to be some more in the next few days as well.

the New York Rangers play a HUGE Game 5 tonight in Montreal. i'd love for them to close it out tonight. just 1 more WIN and they will be playing for the Stanley Cup. i have a good feeling about tonight, mostly because 20 years ago today, this happened:

i will be drinking myself under the table tonight if the Rangers win.

also tonight, i'm going to try to fit in Deadliest Catch at some point. could be one of those nights i'm up until the sun comes up. good times.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. probably depends on how tonight goes.

hope everyone is well. hope everyone is enjoying the poems. feel free to tell me if you are. fuck, tell me if you don't like them as well. i enjoy a good hate email from time to time. those make for some good fuel at times.

peace and chicken grease my enemies... be well.
