the winds were fucking crazy last night. it was a struggle to keep my mother's SUV in the lane last night on the highway. of course, i was going nearly 80 miles per hour for most of the ride home. we didn't get any snow on the drive back, but i did wake up to a little dusting this morning. i was more concerned with the temperature of 33 degrees. i guess winter wants to start early this year.
the hockey game was pretty fucking boring last night. there was easily more Toronto fans there than Blue Jackets fans. and they were the arrogant pricks i figured they would always be. i told my sister last night when i was going into the bathroom, if i'm not out in 10 minutes, i started a brawl. of course, nothing happened, but i did laugh at all the empty cans of LaBatt's around the bathroom. as for the game, Toronto won 4-1. they outplayed Columbus the entire game.
after going out to eat afterwards, we did get home in time to watch Sonic Highways on HBO. once again, the Foo Fighters knocked another one out of the park. another great episode. i did get a good laugh when most of the band had no clue who the country stars were on the walls when they were at the Grand Ole Opry.
i got my assignment from Janne Karlsson done before i left for the game yesterday. i love when a quick brainstorming session brings out something good. he liked what i wrote and is planning to submit it soon.
today will be a day of college football, maybe a little soccer, hockey, some laughs, some music and then, hopefully, some sleep.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Winnipeg. hopefully i am drinking a victory beer by the end of the game.
Ohio State plays tonight against Illinois. hopefully they win easily as i would like to watch most of the Auburn vs. Ole Miss game.
Saturday Night Live should be great tonight. Chris Rock hosting and Prince is the musical guest.
after that i'm planning on watching a new episode of ROH.
not sure if i'm going to the store today with mom or not. i know i won't be going to look at the house next to where her brother lives today. not sure i really want to live next to the people who birthed the girl that molested me. even as fucked up as i am, willfully bringing on such mental shit is even beyond me.
i'm cutting this a little short as i need to go feed the animals. i'm interested to see how the young cats did last night.
hope everyone is coping with the day after the sugar highs. have a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...

it's not all it's cracked up to be...
i snuck in a nap yesterday while watching some soccer over in Europe. it was one of those naps where you are so damn tired you fall asleep in a horrific position, so i think may have done more harm than good. my back is still feeling it.
my buddy did come over to watch Ohio State beat UC last night, 50-28. the game certainly felt much closer than the final score. he ate before he got here, so it looks like i'm going to be stuffing my face today. it is good being around him again. we were damn near inseparable in high school. hard to imagine it's been so long since we've hung out together.
the Yankees lost yesterday 10-4, not that it matters. today is the final game of Derek Jeter's career. i guess he's going to DH again today. he went 1-2 doing that yesterday, leaving in the 5th inning. hopefully i will flip over in time to catch whatever happens today. helps that my football team isn't playing until tonight. i saw reports this morning that the manager ripped the team the day of the home finale. might be time to fire him if he thought that was the right time for that to happen. where was he the rest of the fucking season? as sad as today will be for me, i'll be so fucking happy this season will be over.
like i said before, the New Orleans Saints play tonight against Dallas. that throws a wrench in my television viewing tonight. if all goes as planned (when does that happen?) i'll start off with the game and then go to Boardwalk Empire. then, i'll watch The Strain, flipping back to the game during commercials. hopefully sometime after Last Week Tonight, the game will end. and i will hopefully be enjoying a victory beer while watching Total Divas and the season finales of Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. and if all goes well, i'll be in bed before the sun is starting to come up.
my fantasy football lineups are set. i have no major injury concerns (knock on wood) so i have no major scrambling that has to happen later today. i don't like either of my matchups today. thankfully, i won't know the results until after the game tomorrow night. maybe i'll surprise myself today.
ROH was pretty good last night.
Saturday Night Live was a little odd. when it was good, it was great (Pete Davidson). when it was bad, it was car wreck fucking bad. you were going to look and you were hoping to see dead people. not sure if it was nerves or the weight of it being 40 years, but shit... at least the season can't get any worse (i hope).
well, that's all for me today. i have trash to pick up, cats to feed and breakfast to eat before i just lounge around for the rest of the day.
hopefully everyone is having a great weekend. unless you are a fan of that shit school to the north of me (Michigan), i imagine you are.
thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

hello depression, my name is...
on top of feeling down today, for some fucking reason, my internet was out for nearly 3 hours this afternoon. i didn't bother to call the clowns at Frontier Communications, for i know damn well they wouldn't have a fucking clue what the problem would be. they never do. the only way i realized it did pop back on was the breaking news alert i got of another school shooting. ah, welcome to America.
last night was what i really feared in the series between the Rangers and the Kings. given that the Rangers have a tendency to not finish around the net when they really need to, if the Kings clamped down on defense we would be fucking screwed. and sure enough, last night the Kings played defense. Quick was amazing in net for them as well. Kings win 3-0 to take a 3-0 lead in the series. if i had to make a bet, i would wager that this series is over on Wednesday. of course, i've thought the Rangers were dead before in these playoffs. sadly, the thought is slowly becoming reality. but i won't shave off the playoff beard until it is over.
at least the Yankees were rained out last night. less misery for me to endure. they play tonight in Seattle. that will be on late enough that i can watch all of Deadliest Catch before it will begin.
Monday Night Raw was pretty damn good last night. i feel bad for Daniel Bryan. he's not recovering as fast as hoped, so he got stripped of the title last night. hopefully he has saved his money well in case he can't come back. i do like where the Seth Rollins vs. The Shield feud is going. the more Dean Ambrose can be on the mic, the better. case in point:
Louie was absolutely great last night. brought back some memories for me in school. and absolutely made me thankful that i don't have children. i highly recommend it. check it out if you get a chance.
other than Deadliest Catch tonight and some baseball, i imagine i'll flip on the NBA Finals at some point. probably the last 5 minutes if the game is close. that's really all you need to watch of a pro basketball game.
figured out the 3 new kittens belong to my cat Robin. so, Batman and Robin both had kittens in the last 3 weeks or so. isn't that cute. anybody want some fucking cats?
as you might imagine, there was a ton of music listened to today with the internet down.
hope this finds everyone well. a big happy birthday to my high school love. stay beautiful my friend.
i'll be on here tomorrow, hopefully, in the afternoon. feigning positive thoughts about the upcoming Game 4. at least if the Rangers get swept, hockey will be over before the World Cup starts. and i'll have a few pounds less of hair on my face.
peace and chicken grease my enemies...

batten down the hatches
before the floods come, here are your daily links for national poetry month:

i have prepared myself for a week of pain as it is supposed to rain every single fucking day this week. can't wait to see what the grass looks like after this crazy week.
i typed up the 2 poems i wrote over the weekend. i think they are pretty good. i sent out my last submission of this month today by sending 5 poems out to Nerve Cowboy. that was a fun line to wait in at the post office. the hot brunette with the nice ass and wedding ring in front of me and the 3 old ladies bitching about not enough places to play bingo behind me. those poems will be coming soon i imagine. when i hear back from Nerve Cowboy, i'll pass along the verdict.
well, i made it through most of the Sunday night shows last night. Total Divas got left out as sleep won. but, i'll catch that a little later today. Nurse Jackie was really good once again. the final song in Californication blew me away. i was able to find that on iTunes. Silicon Valley and Veep were also very funny. but, the winner of the night goes to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. that was crazy good for a first episode. i can't recommend the show enough. MUST WATCH, it's that good. i'm going to try to make my mother watch it here in a bit.
thankfully, that show ended in time for me to watch the final outs of the Yankees winning 3-2 last night with just 3 hits. Tanaka was "bad" for him, which really made me laugh. 6 1/3 with 2 runs and 4 walks and 11 strikeouts. god, i wish they could all be that "bad". if he continues to get better this season, he's going to be rewriting record books. another series win, which is how you have good seasons. they are off tonight and then welcome the Mariners to town. the return of Cano. i'll be interested to see how the crowd reacts to him.
as for tonight, the usual struggle between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. also, some playoff hockey and playoff basketball that will manage to creep in as well. plus, with the weather being fucking crazy at the moment, probably some of The Weather Channel as well. of course, all of that depends if the satellite feed stays strong. it has a tendency to crap out when the weather gets really bad. could be a night of writing by candlelight, who knows.
that's all for today folks. you'll notice some "new" music down below. i do believe it is official, i have lost my mind. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon or early evening.
peace and chicken grease.
music:
Butthole Surfers - Pepper
Ryan McMahon - I'll Be Damned
Swedish House Mafia - Save The World (Knife Party Remix)
Tricky - Aftermath
Trampled By Turtles - Where Is My Mind? (Live)
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
St. Paul & The Broken Bones - Half The City
