bleary eyed insanity

it figures, the Yankees would win last night as i fell asleep somewhere around the 7th inning or so. i woke up at 2:30 AM and the tv was black with a little message on it saying that this broadcast is blacked out in your area. so, at least i know i was watching the game when i fell asleep. i checked my email and saw they won. saw some highlights on the internet and then enjoyed my victory beer. i had hoped that would help me sleep longer, which of course it didn't.

i was a little shocked at the results on The Voice last night. how Sisaundra didn't make it to the semi-finals is fucking crazy to me. she joins Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons as three of the best "voices" not to win The Voice. it also reaffirms my belief that America is still racist and dumb as fuck. they save the girl with 3 letters, KAT. not that she isn't great, but shit. the show is basically between Josh and Christina and her millions of YouTube fans. i'm secretly hoping Jake wins and all these fucking hipsters that don't know shit about music get so fucking outraged that they boycott the show. and then maybe some "real" singers get a chance. good thing i'm smart enough to know that will never happen.

i did enjoy Deadliest Catch last night, and i really enjoyed Wild Bill saying the word motherfucker. that made me laugh out loud. hopefully someone uses that in a rap somewhere, it was fucking hilarious.

none of the playoff games really surprised me last night. Minnesota beating Chicago by 4 goals was a little surprising, but that is a tough building to play in.

i'm really hoping the Rangers get their shit together tonight and even the series. this falls into a MUST win game tonight. i have avoided mowing the grass on days they play. seeing they have lost 2 in a row, i'm changing that up today. i suppose you could say i'm a little fucking superstitious.

and i will be falling asleep during the Yankees game again, just in case that helps them to get a win and win the series. once again, i'm crazy.

and somehow i'll try to squeeze in Legit and Ali G. tonight as well.

if you need a good cry or need to understand why i'm a pro wrestling fan, please check this out:
and if you watched that and didn't cry, either kill yourself or find your true profession and go into politics.

i'm not looking forward to mowing the grass today, though just by looking at it i know it really, REALLY needs to get cut. and given my shitty skin, i have to wear long sleeves and pants and SPF somewhere around 100 or so. and chances are, i'll still have a sunburn. good times.

hope this finds everyone well. hope you have or had a great day. if you read of some fat fuck dying on a riding lawnmower, chances are...

peace...

the joy of victory

i had a good feeling going into game 7 last night for the New York Rangers. and the Rangers did what they had to do. a very tidy 2-1 win over the Flyers. now they get to face the crybaby Penguins starting tomorrow night. i will hopefully be fully recovered by then. i hit the alcohol a little hard after the game last night. add that to adrenaline and you get some asshole that's up to 4 in the morning trying to jerk off to the home shopping network. and of course, i was back up after 3 hours of sleep. good times.

the New York Yankees play Seattle tonight, that is if the weather cooperates. hopefully it does as i would like to see a victory and taste a victory beer tonight.

and for a little break today, enjoy some music:

i believe The Big Bang Theory is new tonight, so i'll be watching that. also, there is plenty of playoff basketball to watch tonight. as well as the start of the second round of the NHL playoffs with Boston and Montreal playing each other. if you are only a casual viewer of hockey, watch that game tonight and appreciate the pure hatred there is between those 2 teams.

i did manage to catch Legit and Ali G. last night. Legit keeps getting better and better. last night had me laughing my ass off. and it just wasn't the alcohol either. very fucking funny.

the weather is screwy here again. barely made it to 55 degrees today with a wind that felt like fucking October. and after i fed the cats i really know i need to cut the fucking grass soon. so, if these winds can dry this place out quick enough, i may be doing some grass cutting tomorrow. of course, the way shit has been going so far this week, it will rain again. i probably should make sure i have enough gas to mow the 4 acres or so i need to mow.

that's all today folks. mother nature will determine when i'll be on here tomorrow. hopefully everyone enjoyed all the links for national poetry month in April. and hopefully i will have some good poetry news to share here real soon.

peace and chicken grease my enemies...

who doesn't love pressure

well, the New York Rangers got the shit beat out of them last night, on the ice and in the stands. but, the best way to get a 5-2 loss out of your system is to play tonight in a winner take all game 7. as usual, i will be completely wired in and in full fucking voice tonight. i have the feeling that mom will be pissed off at me at some point tonight.

the New York Yankees made Seattle actually look like a good baseball team last night. amazing what some shitty pitching will do to a team. they lost 6-3 but at least made things interesting in the bottom of the 9th. they are rained out tonight, so at least we will miss their best pitcher this series.

so with that rain out, all my attention will be on the 3 game 7's in the NHL tonight. plus, i will try to sneak in Legit and Ali G. as well.

i was a little shocked at who went home on The Voice last night. Bria was done in by a poor performance and getting away from what she did best. i was stunned that Tess was in the bottom 3 again. of course, that could be my dick talking as she is fucking beautiful. neither had a chance with Kat somehow in the bottom 3 as well. how Delvin and Jake are still around is a mystery to me. i think my favorite 3 are Sisaundra, Josh, and Kat. and they should finish in that order at the end as well.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night. that's some crazy shit trying to fix a light 60 feet in the air with winds whipping at 55 miles per hour. CRAZY. one of the best shows on television.

be sure to check out the podcasts on the right side of this blog page. plenty of shit there to keep you entertained for hours. and if you do enjoy this blog, tell a friend. SUBSCRIBE. tell more friends...

had a good bit of fun this morning putting the finishing touches on a comic that Janne Karlsson came up with. i put some words to it and quite honestly, it is fucking hilarious. if it doesn't get published by someone, i may have to come up with the money to get it out there. hopefully i will be sharing something with you soon.

mom and i did go out to lunch today. since the plan was for her to drive home, i had a few drinks. she started complaining about a headache midway through lunch, so i switched over to water, knowing i would be driving home. of course, 20 minutes ago she decides she's going to drive to the store because she just has to get back to doing things. hopefully she'll be fine, though i'll certainly be waiting for a phone call, just in case.

that is all for today. i'll be up late tonight watching hockey. maybe a little playoff basketball. who knows. of course, if the Rangers lose i'll be shaving and going to bed early, PISSED THE FUCK OFF. let's all hope that doesn't happen.

be well. be creative. be the little fucker that pisses off your neighbors.

peace my enemies...

a day of beautiful sunshine spent indoors

i have been swimming in the seas of poetry for the last few hours. here are your links for national poetry month:

one of the places i sent some poems to a few weeks ago, The Blind Vigil Revue, closed up shop. so, i knew i had to find the five poems i had sitting there a new home. so, i've been busting my ass this afternoon and i think i have a plan for tomorrow. but, given the way i do shit, instead of just sending out the 5 poems in question, i'll also have 12 more i'll be sending out. more details on that tomorrow as i've got plenty of typing ahead of me.

i did watch the Yankees game last night, or at least the interesting parts. not sure what Pineda was thinking with the pine tar on the neck. he got suspended 10 games for that. the Yankees lost 5-1 and had to blow up their bullpen in the process. and with CC pitching tonight, it's a good thing they got some fresh arms up for tonight. they will most likely need them.

other than that last night, it was a matter of flipping between playoff hockey and basketball games. i did get to see a few overtime goals. those are always fun.

i did catch Legit and Ali G. last night. Legit was one of the funniest fucking things i have seen this year. to see Carrie Fisher say lick my pussy was a laugh out loud holy shit moment.

and it hit me last night that i completely forgot about Fargo on FX on Tuesday night. fuck. not sure how i'm going to catch up. of course, my Tuesday is fucking booked solid now. that might be something i wait until we move and just binge watch the season when we get better high speed internet.

tonight will be some sports and a new episode of The Big Bang Theory. i think SNL has some special on tonight as well i'll probably end up watching. unless the Yankees are somehow winning.

got some more of the shit i ordered from amazon.com today. i love how i asked for it to be the least number of packages possible and my shit is coming in 6 different packages. just fucking lovely.

but, i did get some music today. that will be below.

my mother has had a headache for the last few days. i'd like to think that it's because of the swelling from the surgery, but i don't think it is. i believe it is more stress related. i told her it would be much easier if she could smoke pot and allow her brain to escape. sadly, she's allergic, or at least that is what she claims. probably more of the goody two shoes coming out.

that's all for me today kids. i've got a shower to take and a shitload of typing to do. i may pull a late one and get most of it done tonight after midnight.

be well my enemies. peace and chicken grease...

the joy of afternoon naps

hello again kids. here are your daily links for national poetry month:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/a-poets-glossary-by-edward-hirsch/2014/04/22/49b1cb56-c966-11e3-95f7-7ecdde72d2ea_story.html
http://www.edweek.org/tm/articles/2014/04/21/fp-raschka-poetry-books-teacher-lament.html

amazingly, i made it through last night without going completely insane. i was able to watch just about everything i wanted to last night. sadly, the sitcoms after The Voice had to be sacrificed last night. i need a damn DVR. anywho, here's my thoughts:

The Voice - was a little shocked at the final 3 as i thought Tess should have already been saved. thankfully, she did make it to the final 10.

Deadliest Catch - this looks like a really great season to watch. didn't even think how the government shutdown would affect them. should be a crazy, intense ride.

the New York Yankees beat the shit out of the Red Sox last night 9-3. i'm convinced that Tanaka is the second coming of (name your favorite pitcher of all time here). hopefully they can keep it rolling tonight.

the New York Rangers played a complete, solid game last night and won 4-1. i love that they are frustrating the Flyers to the point where they are making stupid guarantees now for game 4. LOVE it. can't wait to watch them lose again. game 4 is on Friday.

tonight will be a little baseball, some playoff hockey, hopefully sneak in Legit and Ali G. and then some late night tv.

i watched The Tonight Show last night and was pleasantly thrilled with Rita Ora. not my type of music per se, but DAMN, i do believe i have found my new dream woman. that should spice up my nights and hopefully get me out of the high school remembrances of nightmares.

that's all for me kids. be well. be creative. be the change that the fucker down the street refuses to believe in. and then shit that change out on his front porch.

before i lose my mind

decided i would bust out a quick one this morning before i get too busy. get your minds out of the gutter. i did that before i went to bed. here are your national poetry month links:

the New York Yankees won game 2 of the doubleheader last night 2-0. if only we could play the Cubs every game. the home stand is now over and they are off to that dump in Tampa. and CC usually pitches like shit there, so i don't know how much i will be watching.

i did catch a good portion of the NHL playoff games last night. always a stressing sign when the first game goes into overtime. it would be cool if i didn't have a dog in the race. the New York Rangers begin their quest for another Stanley Cup in my lifetime tonight against the Flyers. first time they have met in the playoffs since 1997. fuck i feel old. they have to play their backup goalie tonight, so i'm hoping the Rangers take advantage of it. hopefully i will get to watch all of it.

i did catch Legit and Ali G. last night. both were really fucking funny.

my sister made it down last night. i've had my 4 or so hours of sleep. now it's time to feed the cats, then myself, hopefully take a stress free shit and then drive the family to the hospital. they believe mom's surgery will be at least 2 hours. all i want is for it to be done right and hopefully they are no surprises or complications.

i will be sure to update the situation in tomorrow's blog.

that's all for me kids. sorry for interrupting your morning breakfast with my usual drivel. go back to watching porn on your phones now.

say hello to death

here are your 2 links for national poetry month:

http://www.bestofneworleans.com/blogofneworleans/archives/2014/04/08/on-april-18-pizza-comes-with-poetry

i was blindsided by the news of the Ultimate Warrior's death. having just seen him over the weekend during WrestleMania and then seeing him the next night on Monday Night Raw, to read on Tuesday night that he was dead was a total fucking shock. and then, you listen back to what he said on Raw and it gets really creepy:

the New York Rangers won last night 4-1. after giving up the first goal, i thought they played a really good game. and it was so nice to see the power play score again. last home game of the season is tomorrow night.

Manchester United lost today 3-1. i was so fucking pumped when they scored the first goal of the game. a beauty of a goal from Evra. but, seeing this is the season from hell, the great job they did on defense in the first half went right out the fucking window when they scored. 70 seconds later, Bayern scores and the floodgates open. you could tell Rooney was not 100% or even close to it as he completely blew 2 chances to score. so, no titles this year at all and no Champions League next season. as i feared when Moyes was selected to replace Sir Alex, we have now become MEDIOCRE. and i hate losing too fucking much to settle for mediocre. hopefully the fucks that run the club feel the same.

the New York Yankees play tonight after that debacle yesterday. it's Tanaka's first home game, so it should be nuts. hopefully he pitches well and the team wins. i need a victory beer after today.

The Voice last night was the start of the playoffs. team Blake performed and he had to cut the team down from 5 to 3. i believe he made the right choices. the 3 he kept are really good. can't wait until next week to see how the other teams do.

after the baseball tonight i'll be watching Legit and Ali G. and hopefully laughing away the pain of today.

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank and probably a few hours of porn.

peace...

a cool rainy day in April

first off kids, here is your national poetry month goodies for the day:

i went through the stack of unpublished poems i have and came up with 25 i'm going to send out. i'm going to try to stagger these submissions throughout the month as i really can't sit at the computer for hours on end anymore. i think i know where i'm going to send the poems, just need to do my double check and make sure i'm not resending something that was previously rejected. ah, paperwork. good times.

the New York Rangers set the franchise record with their 25th road win of the season last night, 3-1. Marty St. Louis FINALLY scored his first but more importantly the Rangers best defenseman and the best one on my fantasy hockey team got blindisded late in the game and left the arena with his arm in a sling. he did travel with the team to Colorado and not back to New York, so i'm going to assume that's a good sign. i really hope is good to go for the rest of the season.

the New York Yankees shit the bed to start the season, losing 6-2. and it never really felt that close. the game was so bad that i rarely turned back to it while watching The Voice and the shows after it. they play again tonight. i'm not going to get pissy until the losing gets to the insane stage. losing twice to a team with a payroll less than the cost of your infield would be at the insane stage.

speaking of The Voice, it was excellent last night. i believe i know who can win the show and probably witnessed the best battle of the season last night:
just amazing. can't wait to see her in the live shows.

woke up in pain this morning as it was already raining and i was up after 3 hours of sleep. the arthritis medicine seems to be working, so maybe i caught it early. and my neck seems to be getting better each day now.

sometime during the Yankees game tonight i'll flip over to watch Legit and Ali G. hopefully the Yankees will be winning when i do so.

that's pretty much all for me today kids. i think i'm going to sneak in a nap before i have to help put the groceries away.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime. not sure when as i believe i'm going to start sending the poems out tomorrow. wish me luck or tell me to fuck off. they both get the desired effect.

peace my enemies. be well, be creative, be drunk, be destructively good at whatever you want, be warm, be naked, be cheap...

when does spring start again?

i woke up this morning and it was 14 degrees outside. by 5 PM, it had barely made it above freezing. and to think it is supposed to be spring. the fuckers on the tv say a warm up is coming, but throw in the caveat that it may end with some wet snow. maybe the dirty little secret this year is winter is never going to end. good times.

i did watch all of The Voice last night. Usher easily has the best team. of course, that doesn't mean he will win. i'm interested to see what the second round of battles brings. i think it makes the most sense to make sure only the best of the best makes it to the live shows.

the New York Rangers play tonight against Philly. i will be glued to that game. the Rangers are battling injuries and the flu bug and this game is a MUST win if they want to host a series in the playoffs. it's on national tv tonight in case anyone is interested. NBCSN at 8 PM.

also tonight i'm going to try to squeeze in Legit, Ali G, and Duck Dynasty. yet another night i wish i had a DVR.

i didn't do any writing last night or today. too many nerves at the moment regarding the Dayton Flyers. my mind is consumed with their game against Stanford. and my dreams are busy figuring out how they can shock the world and win the national championship. that's one thing i learned as a child; if you're going to dream you might as well dream BIG.

i ran out of nerve pills today so i'm wondering how the next few hours go. i go back to the doctor on Friday. i'd like to think i don't need them anymore but i've got a feeling that is not going to be the case.

i highly recommend the latest Sam Roberts Show Online, #95, especially if you are a wrestling fan. more than a hour with Jim Ross. all the stories and inside stuff that you haven't heard before. you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com and the right hand side of this blog.

that's all for me kids. off to eat a little dinner and get my mind right for some hockey. hope this finds everyone well. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime between loads of laundry.

peace...

so this is what ecstasy is like...

as you can tell from that video, my day has been pretty fucking great...

Dayton beats Ohio State 60-59. my brackets are still perfect and a ton of fuckers around the country have thrown theirs in the trash. i love it.

on top of that, Manchester United got a HUGE hat trick from RVP yesterday to come all the way back to advance in the Champions League. that probably saves Moyes' job, or his life. either way, a huge fucking win.

the 2 games i went to last night to finish out the First Four were good. Texas Southern won the battle of the bands but Cal Poly won the game 81-69. just got to love a team with a losing record advancing in the tournament. they will play Wichita St. tomorrow. in the nightcap, Iowa pissed away a lead they had for nearly 35 minutes of the game. Tennessee takes the lead late and Iowa sends it into overtime. in OT, Tennessee did everything right and Iowa either ran out of gas or thought the overtime was going to start 10 minutes later than it did. Tennessee wins 78-65. they will next play UMass.

but since the game went late, my plans got altered, just a little. i did have dinner at Waffle House which proves i will eat anything after not eating anything for 11 hours. made it back home a little after 1, so i missed a little of Legit. i did see all of Ali G and most of Duck Dynasty before i passed out in the chair. the plan was to check all my emails and do a couple other things and then go to sleep in my bed. i woke up at 7 this morning, wondering why the fuck my shoes were still on. i just love the times when the days just blend all together.

so far the first day of spring here has been good. a little cool, but dry. of course, there's a chance of rain or SNOW the next couple of days. welcome to spring in Ohio.

today is the anniversary of the death of my grandfather. it's actually the first death i remember. i was 4 when he died in 1980.

got all the "new" cats named. Cookie, Spiderman, Ryan Giggs, Boomer, Alfred, Batman, Robin, and Kris Kristofferson. made sure to write them down to help mom out. not like she'll actually use them or something, more of a just in case scenario.

that pretty much is all for me. back to the basketball. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime. i believe my mother and i are going out to watch some games in a bar as both of our doctor appointments for tomorrow got cancelled.

hope this finds everyone well, enjoying some good wine, some better words, or a woman of the evening at a fair price. or for you women that actually read this, a man. or a woman, i have my dreams...

be well bitches...

you ever get a song stuck in your head

when i got home around 12:30 last night, i was pretty damn tired. but i had this fucking song trapped in my head that they played before each basketball game last night. it became my mission to find it on iTunes before i went to bed. by 4 AM i had completed my mission. welcome to my crazy life.

the first game last night between Albany and Mount St. Mary's was a back and forth affair. both teams had hot and cold stretches that at least kept the game interesting. Albany gets its first ever win in the NCAA tournament, 71-64. that brought on the NC St. vs. Xavier game. the hatred for Xavier was really in the air. there were enough of the pricks from down in Cincy up there that my blood was boiling. now mind you, i'm in the first few rows of the second deck, so basically my yelling was simply entertaining the fans around me. but, they were totally fucking entertained. as i explained to my mother, since those assholes weren't on the schedule this year, i had it all inside of me to get out last night. and i was on full fucking blast for 40 minutes. it was great. NC St. advances to face Saint Louis, 74-59. i enjoyed every fucking second of that beating.

as i figured, since i wasn't watching, the New York Rangers would win last night. sure enough, they won 8-4 in Ottawa. Hank becomes the franchise leader in wins by a goalie. here are the highlights:

and during my search for that song stuck in my fucking head, i did get to see most of what happened on The Voice last night. hats off to Usher for still having nearly his whole team still involved, either through wins or steals.

tonight, i will get to see Cal Poly vs. Texas Southern and then Iowa vs. Tennessee. hopefully, both games will be good. i'm getting prepared for the sea of fucking orange tonight. sadly, those fans from Tennessee travel well.

the plan after dinner tonight at Waffle House, is to watch Legit, Ali G., and Duck Dynasty when i get home. hopefully i will have enough energy left to do so.

now, i'm off to watch a little of Manchester United before i hop in the shower. in there i'll have to get prepared to listen to another night of the mid 50's hipsters sitting behind me at the basketball games. nothing like a talk about South by Southwest that lasts for 3 DAMN hours. god help me.

hope everyone is well. i'll be on here tomorrow probably after Dayton plays Ohio State. i'll either be sky fucking high or really depressed. good times.

peace and chicken grease...

and here comes a howling wind

it started raining last night, but amazingly i was able to get some sleep. painful, but i got a few hours. the wind really started to kick in this morning. i checked the radar and decided i better get my ass moving. i got the cats fed and got into town before the snow hit. we only had one piece of mail. i made it back home before it started to snow. near white out conditions at times, but, in the end, just a fucking dusting. hopefully this wind now dries everything out before it gets down to the single digits tonight. hopefully this is the last bit of winter for this season. i'm sick of this shit.

i started doing some neck exercises today. just really wanted to stretch the muscles to see if i could make some more progress. they definitely helped so far.

finished my brainstorming this morning and came up with the 10 songs i needed. so, now i just need to get all of other songs my cousin wants downloaded and i'll be good to go. i'm hoping to get this done by the weekend.

the New York Rangers disappointed the shit out of me last night. completely outworked the entire game. if Hank wouldn't have been as good as he was, they would have lost by more. 3-1 loss in a game that really never felt that close. they start a back to back on the road tomorrow. they better have their asses in gear as they are a few more losses away from falling out of a playoff spot.

saw the news today that the New Orleans Saints are going to try to trade away my favorite player, Darren Sproles. i'm not happy about this, but i just hope they send him to a place where he'll have a chance to play and win. he deserves at least that much.

i believe the episodes of Legit and Ali G are new tonight. i'll hopefully be out of the shower in time to watch those. other than that, it's the crap shoot to see if i can stay up to see the late night shows or not. i did a pretty good job last night. i didn't fall asleep until halfway into Late Night. i imagine that was due to my brain overworking to try to understand the Spanish Juanes was singing in his performance last night on The Tonight Show. i got a few words here and there. not bad for not working on it since high school.

i did catch a little of the New York Yankees this afternoon. i was flipping between that and all the NFL free agency news. the Saints got a good safety. here's hoping they do a little more than just that.

that's all for me. i need to get over to iTunes and start doing some pricing. hope this finds everyone well. and warm. and ready for warmer weather. and hopefully not involved in the fire on the west coast or the apartment explosion on the east coast. seeing i know people in both places, this has been one of those afternoons where i wish i could just sleep all of it away.

peace bitches...

from heartbreak to jubilation

when i woke up this morning at 5 AM, i believe i was still on the high from last night. that being said, after breakfast i basically became a zombie. i'm still not sure where the hours of 9 to 12 AM actually went. plenty of shit to get to from last night, so on with the show...

it was really fucking odd to see Martin St. Louis in a Rangers jersey. a player that i have always respected from afar, i never thought he'd be wearing Ranger blue at any point of his career. hopefully he helps the team score. they need that so bad. he clicked with Brad Richards immediately, like they did in Tampa 10 years ago. sadly, the Rangers lost in OT 3-2. all three goals from Toronto came from defensive lapses. they need to clean those up soon and start winning again. at least they got a point from the game.

during the commercial breaks of the hockey game, i would flip over to watch the Dayton Flyers. all i wanted was for them to keep the game close. for the most part, they did that. and they overcame a deficit of 10 points in the second half to beat the #17 team in the country on the road, 72-67. amazingly, it was the first time EVER that Dayton had won a game on the road against a ranked team in conference play. such a HUGE win over Saint Louis. just a little more work to do to make sure they are in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2009. highlights from the game are below:
that was a victory beer that i truly enjoyed.

i did catch Duck Dynasty, Legit, and Ali G last night. all three had me laughing, especially Legit. so wrong and so fucking funny. the ending had me rolling.

tonight i'll be watching The Big Bang Theory and then probably doing the dishes. i've been slacking here a little so i'll be in agony when doing those. well, at least my back will be.

it is finally starting to warm up here just a little. i believe we actually hit the 40's today on the farm. the rumor is tomorrow the 50's might actually make an appearance. it would be certainly welcomed. i would love to see all this fucking snow melt into the ground and be gone for at least a few days.

so after my zombie phase today, i actually made my first purchase on iTunes, just to see if i could figure out how to get it on the computer, etc. thankfully, after 99 cents and a little copy and paste, i felt like i had taken another step into this century. of course, the song i bought was from the last one. baby steps.

amazingly, saw most of the cats today. i figured with hours upon hours of full sunshine, they would be sprawled out all over the farm sunning themselves. they promptly did that after eating for maybe 3 minutes. what a life. if all goes well, the new ones will be getting names in a few weeks.

my thanks to Brian for taking those poems today and the kind words in the email. i really do appreciate it.

be sure to check out some of the podcasts on the right hand side of this blog. you'll be entertained for hours if you do.

that is all for me. need to get my mind right tomorrow as this weekend i'll be attempting to go to a basketball game for the first time in over a month. i'll be sure to take some pain pills with me, just in case.

i hope this finds everyone well. hope the weather is good wherever you are. and may the alcohol flow as freely as you need it to this evening. be well my enemies.

peace.

for whom the bell tolls

in case you haven't figured it out by now, i am a deeply passionate sports fan. that comes off as totally weird to most people that only know me for my poetry, as someone who is creative "shouldn't" be passionate about anything other than that. i prefer to think of myself as the caveman refined. i like to drink and cuss but can also tell you about Monet, Beethoven, and Bukowski.

so, i just spent the past 10 hours or so watching trade deadline coverage for the NHL. it was a little surreal that the first move of the day was the New York Rangers trading away their captain to Tampa for their captain. now, Martin St. Louis is 10 years older than Ryan Callahan. that being said, the Rangers did trade for the 5th leading scorer in the NHL. but, they also gave up potentially 2 first round picks. i'm torn as much as i'm excited. if this gets the Rangers deeper into the playoffs than last year, great. if it doesn't bring them a cup in a few years, fuck. they will be more exciting to watch. they also made a depth move on defense that should only amount to something if there are injuries. hopefully there won't be. huge game tonight against Toronto at home. the private jet picked up Marty, so let the fun begin.

sometime around 9 i'll flip over to start watching the Dayton Flyers take on the 17th ranked team in the country. if they can win this tonight, i feel really good about their chances of going to the tournament.

not sure if i'll actually get to watch Duck Dynasty, Legit, or Ali G tonight or not. not like i sleep anymore, so who knows.

earlier today i caught little bits and pieces of the USA losing to Ukraine, 2-0 in an international friendly in the buildup for the 2014 World Cup. from what i saw, i wasn't impressed. but honestly, i didn't see enough to truly get a sense of the game. i'm sure Ukraine had much more to play for, given what is going on in their country at the moment.

i did catch The Voice last night. Blake now has the 2 best singers i have seen so far this season. hopefully he won't be stupid and pit them against each other in the battle rounds.

the 2 comedies after The Voice are pretty good. i have enjoyed both episodes so far.

that's all for now. i need to get ready to watch the Rangers pregame shit and start to digest that the captain is gone.

hope this finds everyone well. until tomorrow, probably after i wade through the mud and snow and get the birds all fed again.

a quick hitter

i have been sleepy as fuck all day long. i think i may be getting sick. just what the fuck i need. looks like we're going to have some crazy fucking weather this weekend. maybe 6 to 10 inches of snow. maybe a few inches of ice. just fucking great.

i did watch Duck Dynasty, Legit, and Ali G last night. all 3 had me laughing, especially Legit. Jim Jefferies is one of my favorite comedians.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Chicago. hopefully there is no post Olympic break rust.

i did see all of the cats today. that's another sign that some kind of weather is coming soon.

not sure what i'll be watching after hockey tonight. not that it matters, i seem to fall asleep every few hours anyway.

that's pretty much all for today. just another cold day on the farm where i'm bouncing between music sites and porn sites. good times.

i hope this finds everyone well.

peace and chicken grease...
