more water left in the rock...

i did squeeze out another poem last night. this one was a little more unexpected, which made me happy. i wasn't going to push my luck and see if i could squeeze out any more.

the Yankees lost yesterday at Miami, 3-1. they play again this afternoon.

AEW Collision was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Heels, Billions and The Chi.

the New Orleans Saints play their first preseason game today at home against the Chiefs. i'll probably watch some of that today.

i'll probably also check out some soccer, golf and NASCAR today.

we are supposed to get some strong ass storms tomorrow, so i don't know if i will be on here before Manchester United plays or not.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:

i did watch some of the basketball hall of fame ceremonies last night:

Merry Christmas

i hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.

my sister, mother and i had breakfast together this morning and then exchanged gifts. i think my mother and sister both liked what i got them. i got a few things i wanted and a couple more i needed... so all in all, this morning went as good as probably was possible.

i hope everyone enjoyed my little gift last night. if you haven't listened to it yet, go here:
https://soundcloud.com/j-j-campbell/for-something-other-than-money

we watched The Night Before last night. that's become our Christmas movie i guess. it still makes me laugh.

WWE Backstage was pretty good last night.

i also watched some of the football game last night between Hawaii and BYU.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT.

i know i'll watch plenty of basketball games today.

i think my sister is going to leave sometime after lunch.

i have to get out the trash tonight since they will be picking it up tomorrow.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays.

mom has said something about going out tomorrow and looking for a new car. i'll believe that when i'm on the lot looking. our 2002 Toyota Highlander only has close to 250,000 miles on it.

i hope everyone has a great day. hard to believe the final days of this decade are right around the corner.

until tomorrow kids...

and the frustration continues...

i slept about 30 minutes longer than i really wanted to this morning. perhaps, that was a sign from god. now i have a choice. do i look at the Manchester United game this morning (0-0) as they got another point? or, do i look at it as they couldn't beat a Burnley side that fucking sucks? or, do i chalk this up to more frustration as the LvG system is still not fully in place? i haven't quite decided. i'm more pissed than cautious. i did think Di Maria looked good at times. of course, he and Mata both went off with possible injuries. what else is new. i'm really disappointed that they are clueless in the final 1/3 of the pitch. oh well, there goes that chance at a victory beer.

the Yankees won last night, 6-3. good thing i was patient last night. they waited until late to actually do something against a pitcher they own. they play again this afternoon. i have no clue how much of the game i will watch. sort of depends on what Ohio State is doing.

Ohio State plays Navy at noon. i have no clue what to expect from Ohio State now that their best player is going to miss this season. hopefully they win. they are favored by 16. i think it will probably be closer than that.

there's plenty of other college football games i'll be flipping between today and tonight. other than that, maybe some basketball and some other soccer matches, if i'm amazingly still awake late tonight, i plan on watching the new episode of ROH.

as for now, as soon as i get this done, i need to feed the cats and get some frustration out. good times.

i'll most likely be on here tomorrow morning before the Yankees play again. if the rest of my day goes well, i'll be in a much better mood tomorrow. if not, i won't blame you if you just pass on a day of this drivel.

hope this finds everyone breathing. thank you for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.

the stages of grief

my mother surprised me today by deciding that she wanted to blow off the afternoon and go out to lunch. and then i happened to remember what day it was. today marks 12 years since my stepfather has passed on. i figured i better be on my best behavior as this day is very hard on her. we had a good lunch, though the place we wanted to go to was crowded as hell. so, we stopped by the sports bar we seem to be going to more often these days. they weren't that crowded but had only 3 waitresses working. damn good thing i was blessed with patience. after that, we did a little grocery shopping and came back home. i'm trying to give her some space as i fully understand there is no timetable or rules to the grieving process.

the Dayton Flyers fell into the same fucking hole they have fallen into so many times this season. once again starting a game with their heads completely up their fucking asses. the only difference this time, they picked the wrong team to fall behind. St. Joe's beat the living shit out of Dayton last night, 79-53. and quite honestly, it never felt like the game was that close. honestly, i didn't watch much after the 8 minute mark of the first half. and i doubt i missed much at all. they play Saturday at home in a MUST win game. i'd like to go and try my neck out at the game. all depends on the weather and how i'm doing. stay tuned.

so, by not watching basketball last night i did watch all of The Voice. i felt like the talent on night 2 was better than night 1. i don't have a favorite yet, though i do enjoy the chemistry between these 4 coaches much better than the original 4 coaches.

as for tonight, i have a couple of shows on FXX i want to watch, Legit and Ali G Rezurection. those both look funny as hell. i imagine i might squeeze in some Duck Dynasty, but if i can't find the time i won't be crestfallen. and as always, a little hockey and maybe some basketball. fantasy hockey is back in full swing, so i have to be on the ball for the push to the playoffs.

after i got home from the grocery store, i sent out 9 poems. 3 each to The Camel Saloon, Dead Snakes, and Pyrokinection. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

my disjointed sleep continues. after i took a shower last night i sat down in my chair to watch the news. next thing i know, it's 2:30 in the morning. so, i made a quick trip to YouTube to see what i missed. this looks like the only thing i really should have stayed up for:
i laughed my ass off at that.

that's all for me today. i hope this finds everyone well. until tomorrow bitches...

type quickly before the power goes out

i'm trying to get this done before a fuck you amount of storms comes rolling through here. if you somehow don't see this until hours later, you'll understand.

i got good and bad news from the doctor today. the good, i have shown enough progress that i can continue on the path i am on. he upped the nerve pill a little and gave me more pain pills. the bad, the insurance company says that i have to go through physical therapy and it has to fail me before i can get a MRI. might be the dumbest fucking thing i have heard, but i imagine it is to save them money, not the patient. needless to say, since i have shown progress, physical therapy isn't happening. now, if i haven't shown more progress in a month when i go back to see him, physical therapy will be happening. my big goal for this evening is to try to sleep in a bed for the first time in 3 weeks. my fingers are crossed.

the Dayton Flyers started off colder than shit last night. but, they finally woke up and absolutely took over the game. finished the first half on a 20-4 run that gave them the lead by 6. they went on to win 65-53. another must win on Saturday and they will be right at the door of march madness. when this team is clicking, they are really good. when they aren't, it is bowling shoe ugly.

i got home from the doctor/sports bar/grocery store in time to see the USA women's team lose in OT to Canada in the gold medal game. i was really sick when i found out they blew a 2 goal lead with a little over 3 minutes left in the game. just brutal. hopefully the men have a better fate tomorrow.

my tomorrow will be Olympic hockey and hopefully a victory beer.

the victory beer i had last night put me to fucking sleep better than i have for 3 weeks. here is what i missed on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:
now that is some funny shit.

i'll probably be bouncing between basketball games this evening. maybe a little of the Olympics, but i saw most of what i wanted to see live during the day. of course, if the weather is too bad and the satellite signal goes down, i won't be watching shit. then it will be a night listening to the radio. i haven't had one of those in quite some time.

i hope this finds everyone well. hope the weather is less crazy in your neck of the woods.

be well. be creative. be drunk. be naked. be the train at the end of the tunnel of hope.

a dreary fog

yet another day with hardly any sleep. the pain has really subsided, other than a huge fucking knot i have in my upper left arm. the heating pad is no longer doing anything for me. and neither is ice. so, it's time i turn to the alcohol. good times.

it has been incredibly foggy here today. like a Stephen King type of fog. i'm not sure if i've been able to see down to the road at all today. the temps have got into the 40's today. so, most of the snow is finally melting. the stubborn ice is hanging on though.

the Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. after that, i flipped between basketball games and the Treehouse Masters show on Discovery Channel. as usual, another thrilling night.

the New York Rangers play at home against Dallas tonight. hopefully they can keep the good momentum going.

other than that, tonight i see a shower and hopefully more than 3 hours in a row of sleep in my future.

not sure when i'll be back on here tomorrow. Dayton plays St. Louis at 11 am (ESPN2), so we'll be leaving here around 9:30 or so. and after that, i know mom needs to pick up her new laptop, so i imagine we'll be going south of town for that and some lunch. and then the New Orleans Saints play at like 4 or so in the afternoon. so, maybe i'll be back before that and sneak in a quick blog. or, maybe at halftime of the second playoff game tomorrow.

the best thing about tomorrow is there is about a 100% chance i won't be seeing Manchester United playing. knowing my fucking luck, they will win.

the new printer mom got last night is pretty cool. i might actually get a chance to print out some of my photos as there is a slot for photo paper in the printer. i'm thinking i may do a calendar next year where i mix some photos and my poems. i figure that could be my artsy fartsy Christmas gift next year for my friends and fans. who knows, 11 months from now i might be on a completely different brainwave.

if i can find a comfortable spot to write in, i might do some writing tonight. either that, or i may go crazy and literally work this knot out of my arm. be it with the handheld massage thing i have for my back or my handy swiss army knife... settle down, i'm too hairy for self surgery. that has big fucking mess written all over it.

11 days from now i'll be 38. i'm not exactly typing that with immense joy. but, if you'd like to get me something, you are more than welcome to do so...

hope everyone is well and warm. may all of you have a wonderful weekend. peace.

my personal day long battle with pain

so i woke up at 3 and again at 5 this morning with my left shoulder and neck barking like a rabid dog. i tried stretching, i tried some cool pain ointments, i tried pain pills, i tried. nothing really worked. so, today has been the battle of mind over matter. i figure i really strained some muscles very badly. if i get my body in the right spot, i can stand the pain i feel. if i somehow lose that spot, it's like i'm dealing with my sciatic nerve back when i was 32. the worst is i have a hard time while sitting down. this is going to be fun, seeing that i have a basketball game to go to on Saturday morning. if today has been any indication, i'm going to have to up the adrenaline and brain waves for Saturday. of course, i get the feeling i would have been better off this morning just downing the bottle of whiskey i got for Christmas.

American Horror Story was excellent last night. so good to have that show back. the guest spot by Stevie Nicks was great as well. i can't wait to see next week's episode.

the New York Rangers shocked the shit out of me last night. jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. then the team i have come to know this season showed up and pissed away that lead in the second period. but, they found a backbone last night and actually developed some heart. big goal in the 3rd and a HUGE win over Chicago 3-2. below are the highlights:

i believe my mother is on a mission today to get a new printer as she has FINALLY grown tired of our old one fucking up all the time. hopefully she gets one that i can get used to quickly.

i'm looking forward to a new episode of The Big Bang Theory this evening. other than that, i see a long night of basketball and heating pads in my future.

that's pretty much all for me today. wish me luck at defeating this pain. i figure if it still feels worse after the weekend, i guess i'll be breaking down and going to the doctor.

hope everyone is warm. amazingly, all the cats have made it through the deep freeze. little fuckers still want to live. might actually make it above freezing here by the weekend.

be well my friends. peace and chicken grease.

better than i thought it would be

i decided to be the good son and humor my mother today on her 60th birthday. so, i went shopping with her at Target. anyone that knows me knows just how much i hate shopping. this was a pretty painless trip. just a few odds and ends and some things we needed for the animals.

after driving around looking at houses for sale in the area and a little lunch, we were back home in time for a little Confederations Cup soccer. that probably made the trip much better for me actually.

after watching that i decided to fuck with myself and watch the Yankees. i didn't watch their loss yesterday and i was less than happy when they had yet another injury. so when they got up 6-0 today, i figured the end of the world was coming. CC was pitching great and then the 9th inning came along. they tried their hardest to make this one of the worst road trips i could ever remember... but held on to win 6-5. the first victory beer since god knows when. they are off tomorrow.

throw in a little golf and some more soccer, a nap, a little dinner, some birthday cake, and there is most of my day. it hasn't rained as much as they said, which is great as the crops have enough water for now. plus, the trash seems to be in the same place (fingers crossed). i know i don't feel like picking up 10 bags of shredded paper that don't get picked up somehow.

tonight will be a little basketball, a little Nurse Jackie and Veep, more basketball and then some sleep. i didn't get much last night as the muse and i were on the phone to nearly 4 in the morning. always love when i find someone i can actually talk about anything and everything to. those people are rare these days. too many fuckers just waiting for their turn to talk. not sure what stories i will hear from her tonight. i believe she's spending most of today on a boat.

mom has decided that we are going to go shopping again tomorrow. somewhere i can hear god laughing.

a special thank you to RC Edrington for the kind words on my book, Sofisticated White Trash. i really appreciate it.

hope everyone had a great weekend. until tomorrow... i believe the shopping is going to be in Indiana, so i might have a few stories to share.

better than i expected

i woke up at 6 this morning, expecting the worse. when i went to sleep, they figured the storms would be getting here right around 6. i guess my body clock has an alarm set for disaster. amazingly, the storms, just like everything else that enters this state, pretty much died out when it got to the state line. just a steady rain so far this morning. good for the crops. much better than the inch of rain we got in a little over 10 minutes yesterday. my only fear is once this rain passes, we are expected to have a lull. during that lull it is supposed to get very hot and muggy. that's not good. as long as what fires up this afternoon is nothing like the end of world shit they got yesterday in Oklahoma... when the guy from the Weather Channel said he saw his life pass in front of his eyes, as much as it was fascinating television, it was spooky as all fuck. the knot in my stomach has died down a bit. i've still got all my shit together, just in case...

a big thank you to the muse for some good words last night. it is an absolute pleasure to have you back in my life.

the Yankees got some great pitching last night from CC (first win in over a month, 10 K's no BB) and just enough offense to win 4-1. a much needed victory to put the world back on its axis. not sure how much of tonight's game i'll watch (i'm assuming it's going to be a black-out here) but i would love to see them start winning again. just a game out of first.

i believe later this morning i'll be going with my mother up to Columbus to drop some stuff off to my sister. hopefully we can get there and back during the lull.

and if the storms don't knock out the power or the DIRECTV, i'll be bouncing between playoff hockey and playoff basketball this evening. i'm hoping for some entertaining games to take my mind off of everything for at least a few hours.

i did watch Chicharito score 2 goals last night for Mexico. that was about the only thing that took my attention away from the Yankees and the Weather Channel.

if you want to see what a storm chaser vehicle looks like when it gets hit by a tornado, go here http://www.weather.com/news/tornado-central/tornado-hunt-team-takes-direct-hit-tornado-20130531

a hump day quickie

not much time to do some blogging today, so i figured i would do a quick hitter.

Deadliest Catch last night was great. looks like Jake has to put on his big boy pants. honestly, i would have made the same decision.

the Yankees once again forgot their offense. but, they had a chance to win and then hell froze over. for the first time in his hall of fame career, the hammer of GOD blew a save without getting an out. fucking stunning. the series shifts to Yankee Stadium tonight. not sure if i really give a shit or not.

game 7 between the Sharks and Kings was great. i had the Sharks goalie in my fantasy league, i guess i'll have to change that for the next round.

i did watch a good bit of the Heat and Pacers last night. i always wonder why officials think fans came to see the best player in the world foul out of a game. never makes any sense to me. and it is truly hard to watch a basketball game that has no flow. it sucks.

i was stunned at who got voted off of The Voice last night. Judith and Sarah (both from team Adam) were front runners to win it all. it's rather obvious that team Blake has the upper hand now. Judith was my pick from the beginning, so i really have no clue who is going to win now.

given the unpredictable weather (chance of rain for the next 4 days after today), i have no choice but to mow the grass today. that will be interesting as the temps are supposed to get near 90 today. so, my goal today is to get it done without having a heat stroke. and seeing that my sensitive skin will be covered with long sleeves and sweatpants, i see a few more water breaks happening today.

feeling miserable on a Tuesday

i'm not sure if there is a fresher form of hell than feeling like shit when it starts getting hot outside. pure fucking misery. not exactly sure what's going on with my stomach/body, but i imagine if it keeps up for a few more days, my stubborn ass will call a doctor. i guess.

the Yankees forgot to have their offense show up last night. on top of that the bullpen had a rare shitty night. that all adds up to a 2-1 loss to the lowly Mets. fucking irritating as hell. the Mets have their young phenom going tonight. i'm not sure what to expect. the Yankees could make him look mortal or just lay down in the fetal position like last night again. i'm not looking forward to it.

i did manage a few views of The Voice last night. i have no clue who is going home this evening. honestly, it's a popularity contest from now on. the talent is pretty much even.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i'm very pleased that the young talent is getting pushed and brought up. The Wyatt Family will make for interesting television if creative stays out of the way. i downloaded the WWE app on my mother's tablet last night (i'm sure she's going to love that). it made for an interesting experience, especially given my shitty internet.

looks like the Western Conference in the NHL is coming down to two game sevens. game 7 in the playoffs become must see TV. tonight is the Kings vs. Sharks and tomorrow is Red Wings vs. Blackhawks. should make for 2 great games seeing that both teams HATE each other.

i'll try to squeeze a little playoff basketball in this evening. hopefully, Miami is blowing them out again so i won't have to bother.

i will be paying plenty of attention to Deadliest Catch tonight. judging from the previews, my thoughts on this being one of the best shows on television will only get stronger tonight.

did a little shopping on amazon.com today. got my usual strange ass hodgepodge of music. a little blues, a little techno, a little metal, and a little alternative. hopefully enough of a mix to get the creative juices flowing at a much brisker pace.

that's pretty much it for today. i would say i hope i feel better tomorrow, but i stopped believing in miracles long before now.

a cool beginning

i figured i better do this blog post now instead of waiting until later. i know damn well if the Yankees and Rangers both lose today i'll have absolutely no desire to speak to anyone.

the Yankees bats decided to take the night off last night. i'm not sure if it was due to Oakland pitching or just the usual bad habits and the inability to do the little things because everyone gets up there to hit home runs. and on a night where the bullpen was limited to say the least, you would hope CC would go longer than 6 innings. a big thank you to Adam Warren for pitching those last 3 innings and sparing everyone else. hopefully that leads to better things the next 2 games.

i bounced around last night between the hockey and basketball playoffs. nothing was really dramatic until the San Jose and Vancouver game. i did get a good laugh when the Sharks won in overtime. i'm sure Raffi Torres didn't mind sticking it to his former team.

i laughed so hard at something my sister sent me last night on YouTube that i actually fell out of the chair. literally. hopefully it will have the same effect on you:

it's a rather cool start to the morning. still dry, amazingly enough. looks like most of the rain is going to stay to the south of the farm. that doesn't bode well for the Kentucky Derby later today.

i'll try to watch a new Saturday Night Live tonight. Zach Galifianakis' humor is hit and miss with me most of the time. plus, if the show starts to suck, i'll just flip over to a new episode of ROH. at any rate, it's going to be another late night. throw in that i have dishes to do and i wouldn't mind jotting down a poem or two... as my mother would say when i was a child, busier than nine cats covering up shit in a windstorm.

hope everyone has a great day.

what a glorious day

damn near 80 degrees.

my mother called me while i was doing the dishes and wanted to know why so and so got kicked off the University of Dayton basketball team. a rare day that i wasn't glued to the internet, so i had to call her back. a quick search and well, well, well, i guess the rape rumors i heard over the summer weren't just bullshit after all. i always love when upper middle class kids who are pretend hipsters piss away what little talent they have.

after the dishes, sat down to watch Manchester City hopefully lose to Ajax. things certainly didn't look good until the end of the first half. and other than the 20 minutes of the game i missed wiping my first shit in 2 days, what a glorious day watching Man City have their asses handed to them.

not really interested in the World Series. if i had to root for a team, i'm certainly not going to root for the team that knocked out the Yankees.

last day of good weather as, of course, the weekend is supposed to be wet and miserable. welcome back to Ohio. my sister gets home Friday from her trip. just in time for the bad weather. funny.

it fucking figures

i was having a pretty good day. got some decent sleep last night. watched team USA win gold in men's basketball in a highly entertaining game. my back was feeling great. the weather was as near to perfect as possible for late summer. and then the Yankees game started.

leave it to Phil Hughes, on a day where the team needed length from the starter and was 1 win away from a sweep of a last place team, to go out and throw batting practice. 4 innings and 7 runs in a 10-7 loss.

needless to say the rest of my day will be shit.

on a side note, did watch a good bit of the FA Community Shield this morning between two teams i hate. entertaining and vicious. now, if there only could have been more injuries and red cards...

the reunion of the Spice Girls isn't enough to make me want to watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics. so hopefully my Sunday night tv viewing will make me forget about a mediocre fastball to a damn near full AAA lineup.

a case of the blah's

i'm not sure what it was. the back pain i woke up with (weather related), the laundry i had to do, my friends who are dealing with some deep shit, family traveling in a country of shitty drivers, or what. but today was a serious case of the blah's.

did manage to watch team USA in men's basketball destroy Argentina, at least in the second half. such a deep team with incredible balance. had a little fun in the first half and put the game on mute and played Massive Attack instead. not quite Dark Side of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz but trippy just the same.

other than that, hopefully Sweaty Freddy can pitch well tonight for the Yankees. and i hope i get some better sleep for all the soccer i plan to watch tomorrow. gold medal match of the Olympics especially. of course, Mexico's best player is out, so i don't have my hopes up for a great game.

no news on the poetry front. i'm hoping the rough copy of my book i sent made it back. i'm hoping that fucker is out before the end of the month. as always, if anything comes up i'll post something over the weekend.

enjoying sports drama 101

if anyone happened to watch the USA vs. Canada in women's soccer earlier today you now understand why Manchester United's stadium is called The Theater of Dreams. what an amazing match. and seeing a late goal at the Stretford end of the stadium brings back some warm memories for sure. not long until Alex Morgan is the best female player in the world.

actually got some poetry work done today. opened up the files and picked out 8 poems that i will send out later this week. i would do it tomorrow but that day appears to be fully devoted to mowing the grass/weeds for the first time in over a month. fun fun fun.

also sent back my rough copy of Sofisticated White Trash so it won't be long now until that monster is on the streets. absolutely the best collection of my poems you will find anywhere. and each of my personal "holy shit i wrote that" poems are included. i will provide further details as they become available.

a little baseball, pro wrestling, maybe some Olympics and who knows what else is on tap for tonight. i will hopefully be resting my voice as i watch the USA men's basketball team play. ask anyone that knows me, when Alex Morgan scored that goal, the roar could probably be heard down the street. that's saying something when you live in the sticks.

a productive tuesday

enjoyed watching men's volleyball and women's soccer early this afternoon. so jealous of the USA women to be playing at Old Trafford. one of those places i want to get to before i die. and looks like from the events some will watch on tape delay tonight, they will be happy. thanks to twitter, i'll be watching the Yankees and Deadliest Catch.

speaking of the Yankees, after another one run loss last night, the frustrated fan in me wanted a huge trade today. thankfully Cashman didn't do that. getting a nice role player from the Pirates for a guy who was going to be let go when Joba comes back (which may be tonight) is a nice stroke of genius. with A-Rod injured and now Tex injured, Casey McGehee can fill in at both spots and provide some right handed power. hopefully that works. a warm body that can drive in runs. please.

actually wrote and typed up (a rarity for me in the same day) 2 poems. not sure if they will go in the august submission pile or the later in the fall pile. time shall tell.

hopefully the USA men's basketball is boring enough (as in they are up by 50 20 minutes into the game) that i might get a nap in before some baseball tonight.

sunday dreaming

watched team USA (basketball) sleep through a first quarter where they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. and, as always with basketball, play better defense and offense becomes easy. sure enough. a nice wake up call and then a blowout of France.

as that was going on i was watching Neymar  put on a show at the Theater of Dreams. while watching that, it was hard not to think of him one day wearing a Manchester United kit on that field. and with the back heel for the third goal, i really hope those dreams come true one day.

speaking of Man U, Giggs and Cleverley look to be in pretty good shape. nice win for GB.

a night of schizophrenic television awaits for me. Red Sox vs. Yankees, Big Brother, The Newsroom, Weeds, Episodes, Big Brother After Dark. thankfully i already know the results of the events (swimming, gymnastics, etc.) going to be shown this evening. i don't care for tape delay in a world where i can find out what happened in seconds.

speaking of Big Brother last night, finally an episode on Showtime where i could laugh my ass off. PLEASE, keep giving them tons of alcohol.

a saturday without humidity

so, due to MLB's stupid blackout rules, i wasn't able to watch the Yankees game today/tonight (thanks rain delay). and after seeing them fall behind 6-1, come all the way back and then lose 8-6, i was pretty sure i didn't want to see the highlights. and after seeing the highlights, i was right. hate losing to that team especially on fluke plays and after a great (i guess) comeback. fuck. (thank you to crawls on the bottom of MLB Network and ESPN2)

so after that i, for some reason, flipped to PBS and watched the rest of The Hustler. made me think of my early 20's drinking for free in local pool halls. the more drunk i got the better i played. made the drives home interesting.

absolutely loved the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. i thought Danny Boyle put on a great show. i've watched bits and pieces of the events off and on today. when the basketball starts i'll really start giving a shit.

always fun to watch Chelsea lose. this time to AC Milan. good times.

sports for 5/23/12

just in case any of you new to me don't understand my passion for sports i'll offer the following. i've been a fanatic since i've been 6 years old. sports are life and death to me. i'm higher than high when my teams win and have no use for the world when they lose.

my teams are the New York Rangers, the New York Yankees, Manchester United, Dayton Flyers (College Basketball) and Ohio State (College Football). my nba fandom is normally with Sacramento but i'm not sure about that any longer. nfl is mostly depending on who is on my fantasy teams. oh yes, i will bore you to death with fantasy sports talk as well. how i manage to be an internationally published poet and still follow all these teams is as amazing as it is sad. of course, live at home with your mother and don't have a paying job outside of the house and i suppose it's clearly possible.

anywho, i'm rocking my playoff beard hoping for the rangers to revert to games 1 and 3 tonight and beat the devils. i'll worry about baseball once hockey is over with. not a day sooner. even though i know the yankees stink at the moment, it's still early.

as for Man U, please get some players that are younger and not injury prone. does Alex really think Giggs and Scholes are going to play forever. it's hard to imagine the team w/o them, but harder watching manchester city win.

enough of the rambling. the games shall be on soon.
