the problem with burning a candle at both ends...

eventually, it's going to find the middle. i think that's where i'm at now. i got a whole 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night. joy.

Monday Night Raw was okay last night.

The Voice was good last night. i have no clue which 2 are going home tonight.

i did watch a good portion of that Vikings and Seahawks game last night.

the New York Rangers lost to Las Vegas last night, 4-1.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, part 1 of the season finale of Total Divas and WWE Backstage.

i'll be at the Dayton Flyers game tonight at home against Houston Baptist. this is a game that Dayton should win by at least 30.

i'll be on here tomorrow after mom has physical therapy and Manchester United plays Tottenham. sadly, i'm pretty sure United will end up losing.

some of the Christmas gifts i ordered showed up yesterday. i'm really hoping mom's new walker shows up today. the guy delivering it of course showed up while we were at physical therapy yesterday.

until tomorrow kids...

this feels like it's going to be a long weekend

as i was watching the Yankees piss away any chance at the playoffs yesterday, i just thought about how this could be one long ass weekend when it comes to sports. and it is times like this that i wonder why i'm not like other writers or artists or whatnot and not give two shits about sports. oh, that's right, i was busy for the first 16 years of my life trying to win my father's love. and sadly, when you start an addiction that young, it never goes away.

had another lovely conversation with the dream woman this morning. and that's not pure sarcasm today. things are definitely pointing in the direction that we will meet soon. that's a true holy shit moment in my life.

the Yankees lost both games of the doubleheader yesterday. 2-1 in 11 innings and 5-0 in the nightcap. how you play 20 innings in that bandbox in Baltimore and only score 1 run is a mystery to me. they play again today but i have way too many other things to watch to give a shit about it.

Ohio State plays today at noon. i really hope they play about 10000000000000000000000000% better than last week.

the rest of the day will be spent watching some soccer, college football, and hanging out with my sister. she got here late last night after her interesting day sitting in traffic on I-75. seems like she really liked her birthday gifts.

got an email yesterday notifying me that my DNA results have arrived for that ancestry.com shit. i guess in 6 to 8 weeks i'll have some answers to questions i never bothered to think about.

i watched the new episode of The Knick last night on Cinemax. another great episode. and i really like the post-op part of the show after it is over. i really love that they do their best to stay true to the time of the series. it's fucking shocking to see how far medicine has come in just over 100 years.

i'm really looking forward to the new episode of ROH tonight.

i'd like to thank Adrian Peterson for giving my fantasy football team a chance this week. and i'm really happy i didn't draft him this year.

i will most likely be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. tip your waitress well and only fuck the ones that cough. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

avoiding the air that you wear

i know when i wake up at 8 in the morning and it is already 80 degrees outside, i'm going to be miserable the second i go outside. and since today is also trash day, i get to spend even more time outside. the only good thing about that, as with every trash day it seems, there is a chance it will storm. so i will probably wait for that to happen. not sure the cats will like that, but they don't have a vote on the matter.

today is the World Cup final. i think i'm going to go with Germany even though i would love to see the chaos of Argentina winning in Brazil. that's about as close as you can get to guaranteed violence. but, i only get a victory beer if Germany wins, so... the Netherlands beat Brazil 3-0 yesterday in the third place game. i loved that for the last 10 minutes of the game, anytime Brazil touched the ball, they got booed by their own fans... overall, this has been a pretty damn good World Cup. not sure what it is going to be like in Russia in four years. i know the time difference is going to be kicking my ass.

the Yankees got some great pitching from Shane Greene yesterday and won 3-0. not bad for only your second start in the majors. hopefully, they have found something in this kid. they finish off the first half of the season tonight on ESPN. i doubt i will watch much of it as my Sunday night is already filled as it is. but, the all star break couldn't come at a better time. they need the days off to regroup and get their shit together.

ROH last night was really good. it featured mostly matches that involved wrestlers from New Japan. always fun to see those guys perform.

i believe my viewing schedule tonight goes Big Brother, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex, Last Week Tonight, and then i'm hoping to catch The Strain on FX. not sure if i'm going to like it or not, but the previews have sucked me in. as usual, another late night.

i found some printable stencils last night that i liked so my artsy fartsy ass will be coming up with some more shit here soon. i'm thinking along the lines of t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. of course, if i knew how to use computers better... hell, i sit here too long each day as it is.

well, i need to pick up the trash and get the cats fed. and i'd like to get that done before the World Cup Final starts. hopefully mother nature has that rain coming soon.

hope this finds everyone well. hope your weekend was great. or at least better than the fuckers you hate.

be well. be creative. be insert your dirty thought here

and here comes the rain

i actually got something resembling 6 hours of sleep last night. so, i'm somewhat refreshed. my apologies.

there's thunder in the air here, so i'm going to try to type fast.

the Yankees got off to a great start yesterday and then hung on for dear life, winning 9-7. they were up by 9 after 4 innings. they did take the series though. and made a good trade (at least i hope) and got rid of one of the useless old guys. hopefully more of that is on the way. they are up in Cleveland tonight.

i was so happy for Juan Pablo Montoya yesterday. i haven't been able to see him win often over the last decade or so. so the win at Pocono was very nice to see. he totally deserved it.

the tennis match was pretty good yesterday and i got a little nap watching some golf and soccer. not a bad lazy Sunday at all.

Big Brother made me laugh last night. not because of actual content but more creative editing by CBS. the show happens one way in reality and another in each episode. it's humorous how many people don't really know the difference.

The Leftovers was another weird mess last night. i'm still not sure if i really want to invest my time in it. next Sunday will be the true test with all the Showtime shows coming back on. i imagine if i remember to make an effort to find it next week...

also coming back this week is The Bridge. i can't wait for Wednesday.

no World Cup games today, so i'm going to try to get over to the used music store and sell off some music. hopefully make a little money.

i did compose a poem while i was sitting on the toilet this morning. i haven't typed it up, but i think it has all the makings of a classic.

well, i need to get out there and feed the cats before it really starts storming.

hope this finds everyone well. yes, i know it's Monday, get over it.

peace and chicken grease...

on a cloudy Monday in June

i wasn't exactly upset last night that they cut the Yankees game short because of rain. the way the game was going, they had absolutely no chance of coming back. the team has completely hit a horrific stretch. and i'm not exactly sure when it will turn around for them. they play Cleveland tonight. thank god i have other viewing options.

i am looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. just the promise of some new talent being introduced has my mouth watering. plus, CM Punk will be back soon. that's always something to look forward to. while on the pro wrestling tip, a quick thought about Ring Of Honor over the weekend. every time i watch ACH wrestle, the more i enjoy it. i really hope this kid keeps progressing into a star one day.

i was a little stunned with team USA's victory over Germany yesterday. while i know it wasn't all the German stars playing, a team that struggles to score goals scored 4 on a team whose reserves are better than 90% of our players. i really hope this bodes well for the World Cup qualifiers coming up. highlights from the match are below:

i saw a bluebird eating some sunflower seeds yesterday on the farm for the first time since i have lived here. it immediately made me think of the Bukowski poem...

i did watch the end of the NASCAR race yesterday. Juan Pablo Montoya is my favorite driver of all-time. to see him get passed on the last few laps by another of my favorite drivers, Tony Stewart, was bittersweet to say the least. i'd love for JPM to win on an oval just once so some of the idiots could actually understand how great of a driver he really is. one of these days, it's going to happen.

a big game 7 tonight between the Heat and Pacers. i don't plan on watching much of it unless it's really close near the end or LeBron is having one of those 'holy shit' games.

The Voice is back on tonight. it's down to crunch time now. i'm planning on paying a little closer attention tonight to see who i think will win it all now that my first choice was eliminated last week.

i did go through some poems this morning and have come up with 9 i'll be sending out later this week. hopefully, i make some better choices than i have been making in the past few weeks. although, getting the 3 accepted at Zygote in My Coffee really freshened my outlook, at least for a little while.

that's pretty much all for today. i've got some lunch to get and a long shower to take to hopefully loosen up this back some. i can't imagine why i'm single... always bitching about something in my life. if it's not the back, it's the scar tissue all down the left side of my lower body. of course, knowing it's going to rain 18 hours before it does helps a little. but, since the thought of actually selling off the farm is being tossed around with a little more probability than i was initially expecting, i'm not sure how much good my rain detection is going to do me in the future if i'm living in a condo.

more on that in the coming weeks i imagine.

Melissa Etheridge - Greatest Hits: The Road Less Traveled
Young The Giant - Young The Giant

a case of the blah's

i'm not sure what it was. the back pain i woke up with (weather related), the laundry i had to do, my friends who are dealing with some deep shit, family traveling in a country of shitty drivers, or what. but today was a serious case of the blah's.

did manage to watch team USA in men's basketball destroy Argentina, at least in the second half. such a deep team with incredible balance. had a little fun in the first half and put the game on mute and played Massive Attack instead. not quite Dark Side of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz but trippy just the same.

other than that, hopefully Sweaty Freddy can pitch well tonight for the Yankees. and i hope i get some better sleep for all the soccer i plan to watch tomorrow. gold medal match of the Olympics especially. of course, Mexico's best player is out, so i don't have my hopes up for a great game.

no news on the poetry front. i'm hoping the rough copy of my book i sent made it back. i'm hoping that fucker is out before the end of the month. as always, if anything comes up i'll post something over the weekend.

now for evidence of my mood...

music today:

Young The Giant - Young The Giant
Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing
Ed Sheeran - +

Massive Attack - Mezzanine
