another example of bad things only happen to good people...

i watched a little bit of the Denver Nuggets first summer league game last night. i wanted to see DaRon Holmes II first game. i saw him a little bit in what i watched. then, i turned back to the game later, and i heard they had to help him to the back. and then i saw a message from one of the NBA guys i really trust and i was devastated. i guess he tore his fucking Achilles last night. ++going to miss the entire season now. as i told my mother this morning, at least he did this after he signed his NBA contract. i hope he conquers his rehab and comes back better than ever.

the Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 4-1. hopefully, they will do that again today.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

the season finale of Fantasmas was excellent.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of baseball and soccer today.

the third place game in the Copa America is tonight. i'm taking Canada to pull off the upset of Uruguay.

the USWNT has a friendly today against Mexico.

i'll probably be on here in the morning tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

until tomorrow kids...

time for a hot Friday the 13th...

should be a joy wearing all black as hot as it is going to be today. i'm one of those superstitious fucks, so today is one of those days where i truly get to enjoy it. and seeing that 13 is my lucky number, hopefully the concept of luck is true today.

the New York Yankees fell behind last night against one of the best pitchers in baseball. thankfully, the offense showed up in Cleveland and made sure it didn't matter. the Yankees defeated the Indians 7-4 last night. that puts the Yankees 30 games over .500 for the season (61-31). hopefully they will win again tonight.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Big Brother was excellent last night. i absolutely love that Scottie was the one that had them wear the Swaggy C shirts and then he stabbed him in the back and voted him out. loved it. Scottie then went out and won HOH. of course, he then told everything to Tyler, who i'm starting to think is production's favorite and is whom they want to win the show.

Lip Sync Battle was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE and Major League Wrestling.

i have to take mom to her bullshit doctor's appointment this afternoon. this is her former employer's attempt to prove that she can still work and they don't have to pay her disability anymore. mom's back is killing her. thankfully, she gets an injection for that at the end of this month.

after that, i will do the grocery shopping. i have no clue how long her appointment will be. i wouldn't be shocked if i'm getting to the grocery store around 3 or 4 this afternoon. joy.

i do plan on doing some writing while at mom's doctor's appointment. hopefully i have some good poems swimming in this head today.

i will be on here tomorrow after the 3rd place game at the World Cup between England and Belgium.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

running on fumes

i didn't sleep worth a shit last night. i might have got a good 90 minutes of good sleep. i was up every 45 minutes or so after 4 AM. good times. the rain that was supposed to come yesterday came today. and it came with flash flood warnings, hail, 60 mph winds. i don't get as excited for storms here as i did on the farm. this house sits cockeyed on a odd shaped lot to begin with. and i have no porch where i could sit there and watch the storms while breathing in the air. more or less now all i do is wonder if the internet is going to out or not.

i heard back from Carcinogenic Poetry today on the poems i sent last month. they have decided to pass. i also sent a query to Oddball Magazine on the poems i sent two months ago. so far, i'm sitting on 20 some poems that are begging to be sent out. so, if all goes well this week, i am planning on getting some submissions out there.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 8-6. it was so good to see one of the kids do well:
that was the reason so many of us Yankees fans wanted Refsnyder up here from the start of the season. it's very nice that they will start the second half of the season in first place. that hasn't happened in a few years.

i don't know if the weather will allow the MLB home run hitting contest to happen tonight or not. we're supposed to have another line of storms come through in the early evening. i live about 70 miles north of where the All-Star game is happening this year.

enjoy some music kids:

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. True Detective was good and then the shootout happened. that made the episode great. Ballers was pretty funny. The Brink was good. The Strain was fucking great. this season looks like it is going to blow my mind once again. Ray Donovan was pretty good. Masters of Sex was really good. and finally, Last Week Tonight was awesome as usual:

i saw today that Manchester United was busy once again. i love that they have completely rebuilt their midfield in a span of about 30 hours. the combination of Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin should be dynamic. and just look who they are bringing on the tour to the USA:
i would love to see them in Chicago but i know that won't happen. at least i believe all their games over here will be on television.

it's artsy fartsy time kids. please enjoy one of the most amazing artists i have ever seen on YouTube:

if the weather doesn't fuck up the satellite feeds too bad tonight, i'll spend most of the night flipping between Monday Night Raw and the USA vs. Panama Gold Cup game. i expect team USA to take some chances tonight as they have already won the group. i guess most of the regulars will rest and the kids will play this one.

i got some FREE music today on NoiseTrade. i'll provide the link below in the music section.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. my back is telling me that i'm done for the day. so, until tomorrow kids.

avoiding the air that you wear

i know when i wake up at 8 in the morning and it is already 80 degrees outside, i'm going to be miserable the second i go outside. and since today is also trash day, i get to spend even more time outside. the only good thing about that, as with every trash day it seems, there is a chance it will storm. so i will probably wait for that to happen. not sure the cats will like that, but they don't have a vote on the matter.

today is the World Cup final. i think i'm going to go with Germany even though i would love to see the chaos of Argentina winning in Brazil. that's about as close as you can get to guaranteed violence. but, i only get a victory beer if Germany wins, so... the Netherlands beat Brazil 3-0 yesterday in the third place game. i loved that for the last 10 minutes of the game, anytime Brazil touched the ball, they got booed by their own fans... overall, this has been a pretty damn good World Cup. not sure what it is going to be like in Russia in four years. i know the time difference is going to be kicking my ass.

the Yankees got some great pitching from Shane Greene yesterday and won 3-0. not bad for only your second start in the majors. hopefully, they have found something in this kid. they finish off the first half of the season tonight on ESPN. i doubt i will watch much of it as my Sunday night is already filled as it is. but, the all star break couldn't come at a better time. they need the days off to regroup and get their shit together.

ROH last night was really good. it featured mostly matches that involved wrestlers from New Japan. always fun to see those guys perform.

i believe my viewing schedule tonight goes Big Brother, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex, Last Week Tonight, and then i'm hoping to catch The Strain on FX. not sure if i'm going to like it or not, but the previews have sucked me in. as usual, another late night.

i found some printable stencils last night that i liked so my artsy fartsy ass will be coming up with some more shit here soon. i'm thinking along the lines of t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. of course, if i knew how to use computers better... hell, i sit here too long each day as it is.

well, i need to pick up the trash and get the cats fed. and i'd like to get that done before the World Cup Final starts. hopefully mother nature has that rain coming soon.

hope this finds everyone well. hope your weekend was great. or at least better than the fuckers you hate.

be well. be creative. be insert your dirty thought here

not exactly how i wanted the weekend to start off

so i got up this morning, checked my email (internet is still slower than shit), fed the animals and sprayed for insects inside and out of the house. got all that done in time to watch Manchester United play.

and then i sit down in my favorite chair and watch them lose 1-0 to a bunch of guys i have never heard of that all play in Thailand. not sure how i should take the first game of the David Moyes era. it was only a pre-season game, it was hot, not the whole team... or THEY LOST TO A BUNCH OF FUCKING NO NAMES IN THAILAND... i hate losing at any time. i will tuck this one away with a grain of salt. a good number of big names weren't there. but, there was easily enough talent to win the game. on the plus side, barely, the 2 kids looked pretty good. i'd like to see them get more of a shot in the coming games.

i'll be watching the Yankees play here in a bit. they won a rain soaked affair last night 2-0. Jeter didn't play as it was revealed he has a grade 1 quad strain. he's out until after the all star break. it never fails with this team.

and hopefully i will see a much better soccer game played when team USA plays Cuba this afternoon in the Gold Cup. it's on the FOX national network, so i'm guessing Gus Johnson will be calling it. it should be entertaining.

saw a great interview last night with Stone Cold Steve Austin. it was on AXS TV. i highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

after all my sports today i get the feeling i will be helping my mother clean the house a bit. oh joy.

also, if the weather doesn't turn too shitty this weekend, i will hopefully take some pictures of a few things i saw while mowing the grass yesterday.

other than a little ROH this evening and maybe some Big Brother After Dark, i will be either catching up on sleep or writing until i'm bleary eyed.

until tomorrow...
