anger is a gift

my tolerance for people, ignorance, etc, always seems to be a little more thin than usual when the holidays roll around. while standing in line at the bank today listening to this old woman ask why the name of the old bank is still on her checks and neither teller is able to figure it out (maybe because she hasn't ordered any new checks since the merger you fucking dumb fucks) i could feel my blood begin to boil. my deposit was going fine until the lady helping me couldn't add correctly. and this is with a computer. i don't believe the world understands how lucky it is that i haven't decided to just kill everyone.

and that little episode put me in such a great mood for the Rangers game today. always fun to see them blow a third period lead in Boston and lose 3-2. just fucking great. they play again tomorrow at home. hopefully they decide they would actually like to pay the price it takes to win a fucking game against a good team in this league.

i picked all 3 NFL games correctly yesterday. so, i'm on a much better pace than last week. i'm leading in both of my fantasy football matches, though i certainly didn't need the injury to my running back last night. i'm hoping it's not really serious as he will play a huge role in any success i may have in the playoffs.

i did get all of my shopping done yesterday. all online. i think i ended up spending a little over $100. hopefully my mother and sister like what i got them. of course, if they don't, i couldn't really give a shit.

the rest of today will be some more sports and maybe a little writing. i'm home alone at the moment as the allure of shopping deals has lead my sister to dragging my mother out to the masses. i'm not sure if this is what the doctor had in mind when he told her to take it easy on her bruised ribs this weekend. i personally don't get the appeal of shopping with a bunch of rabid assholes looking to get the bottom dollar deal on some bullshit. of course, i've never really had money in my life where i could just blow it on anything at any time. not exactly sure what i would do if i did have that in my life.

hopefully the football team of the high school i graduated from wins tonight. i'd love to see them play for another state championship. i don't think they won more than 4 or 5 games when i was going there. how times have changed.

the weather is pretty cold here. at least there is no rain or snow. plenty of cold sunshine though.

i imagine i will be blogging tomorrow in the morning before Ohio State plays that shit school up north at high noon. i'm hoping they kill them but i have seen way too many perfect seasons get destroyed in this game to be overly confident.

hope everyone is well. hope you survived any shopping you may have done today. and i hope your family is either gone or not on your nerves yet.

my start to the weekend

so after getting to bed later than i wanted to i was so fucking thrilled to wake up to 40! comments on this blog that i needed to remove. a few quick pointers. 1) if you are going to use a fake name, your comment will not be published. 2) if that fake name isn't that far off from the other fake name you tried to comment on this blog, not only is it sad and pathetic, but totally pissing me off. 3) and this is really only for the person involved in this, what part of you telling me you would never contact me again did you not comprehend? 4) i'm stubborn enough to keep up these bullshit games longer than even you would care for. 5) get the fuck over it already.

with that said, Manchester United quickly changed my mood this morning. a 2-0 win over QPR. Rafael with maybe the goal of the year or possibly his life and Ryan Giggs with a beauty in the second half. 15 points clear going into the massive game tomorrow of Manchester City vs. Chelsea. i'll be up to watch that one and hopefully see 2 teams struggle with the reality that all there is for them now is second place.

and of course, the good feelings only lasted so long. i listened to the Dayton Flyers run out of gas against UMass and lose by 10. a game they probably could have won if they would have remembered to rebound the ball. oh well, this season is more or less lost by now. i figure if i drop any expectations of them maybe they'll actually do something good. or maybe not.

not exactly looking forward to the New York Rangers game tonight. first, no Rick Nash (again). second, the injuries and the flu are catching up with them. lastly, Montreal is a house of fucking horrors for them. i will be interested to see if Christian Thomas makes his debut tonight. the kid has an unbelievable shot. might be the only bright spot if this game goes like the last few up there have gone.

hopefully i will be wrong.

tomorrow will be doing whatever i can to forget the Academy Awards are on. i didn't see one movie that is nominated. truly a matter of i couldn't care less who wins. i think i'll be a little more interested in what is going on with my fantasy hockey team. let alone the Daytona 500 and all that bullshit. and yes, i have a fantasy NASCAR team as well.

i heard from my publisher yesterday. Sofisticated White Trash should be hitting the streets in March. you have been warned.

and here comes the wind

but first, about my Sunday. a pretty damn good one considering how my life has been for the last 2 weeks or so. first off, a nice and tidy 2-0 win by Manchester United. Ryan Giggs and Robin van Persie with the goals. they have a huge match in a few days against Real Madrid in Champions League play. i'm really looking forward to this one. if they can win in Spain it might have me thinking about... fuck, i'm not going to say it and jinx anything.

next up, a nice 5-1 win for the New York Rangers. i think they have found the right combinations this year finally. hopefully i am correct. not much time to make up for the early season stumbles.

i'm now 1/2 game out of first place in fantasy hockey. not sure how i have done it with the number of changes i have already had to make. of course, i will take luck as long as it is working for me.

i enjoyed the Grammys last night for the most part. i actually knew most of the people in it this year. not sure if that's my musical tastes are changing or i'm simply just more aware.

as for the Sunday night shows i normally watch, Shameless takes the prize for last night. i totally didn't see the little girl with a penis coming at all. as for House of Lies, why does part of me think that's more like how Matt Damon really is like in real life? Girls was a bit odd and Californication always makes me laugh.

as for today, the wind has been wicked today. most of the buildings here on the farm were built in the 1800's. so, i'm just waiting for the one big gust to blow something down. i've been out here since 1997 and so far, only pieces of a roof have been victim to the wind.

i did manage to write 3 more poems today and get the trash cans before they blew down the road. add on getting the dishes done and i'd like to think i've been somewhat productive today. i'll probably type up the poems tomorrow, unless wrestling bores me to death tonight.

i truly enjoy when people try to comment on this blog with fake names and whatnot. it truly amuses me. like i'm going to become frustrated or something. please.

the happiness lasted for maybe 6 hours at best

i was not shocked at Manchester United's loss yesterday. thankfully, i didn't watch so my frustration with the lack of goals was muted somewhat. i was not thrilled to see that Cleverley came off with an injury. if he can't go this weekend, one of the old men (Giggs, Scholes) may have to play the whole 90 on Sunday. fuck, hopefully RvP is ready to destroy City and leave those blue fuckers crying for the rest of the season.

i was pleasantly shocked to see Dayton beat Alabama last night. easily, the most complete performance they have had all season. they finally looked like the team i thought i would see for the most of this season. hopefully they remember to play that way again when i see them on Saturday.

and any happiness i may have had from last night ended when i saw the Yankees offered a contract to Kevin Youkilis. fuck me, has it really turned to this? i mean, i had to accept Boggs and Damon even though it felt like part of my soul was dying, but, Youk? fuck me. turn to one of the kids and allow them to fail before you waste money on the Red Sox trash. knowing my luck i'll wake up tomorrow and he's accepted the deal.

bad enough my NFL.com fantasy team is going against someone who has half his roster playing tonight. i know i have already clinched the regular season title, but 1 loss looks much better than 2, i'm just sayin'.

got all the music i needed to burn for gifts for my family done today. so, now it's just waiting for one more gift for my sister to arrive and then time to break out the newspaper and wrap gifts. where the fuck did this year go?

NFL and The Big Bang Theory tonight. maybe a little of Dave's Old Porn as well later on. that and trying to keep up with everything going on with my google+ account. my thirst for knowledge will eventually drive me insane.

(somewhere i hear my family laughing, muttering eventually? more like already.)

sports for 5/23/12

just in case any of you new to me don't understand my passion for sports i'll offer the following. i've been a fanatic since i've been 6 years old. sports are life and death to me. i'm higher than high when my teams win and have no use for the world when they lose.

my teams are the New York Rangers, the New York Yankees, Manchester United, Dayton Flyers (College Basketball) and Ohio State (College Football). my nba fandom is normally with Sacramento but i'm not sure about that any longer. nfl is mostly depending on who is on my fantasy teams. oh yes, i will bore you to death with fantasy sports talk as well. how i manage to be an internationally published poet and still follow all these teams is as amazing as it is sad. of course, live at home with your mother and don't have a paying job outside of the house and i suppose it's clearly possible.

anywho, i'm rocking my playoff beard hoping for the rangers to revert to games 1 and 3 tonight and beat the devils. i'll worry about baseball once hockey is over with. not a day sooner. even though i know the yankees stink at the moment, it's still early.

as for Man U, please get some players that are younger and not injury prone. does Alex really think Giggs and Scholes are going to play forever. it's hard to imagine the team w/o them, but harder watching manchester city win.

enough of the rambling. the games shall be on soon.
