welcome to the weekend...

so, today has been a little frustrating. my mother had to do her laundry first, which i had no problem with. but, she forgot to actually start the dryer, so that was a hour of my life i will never get back. oh well.

my sister did get the televisions switched out last night. it's fucking weird to have a tv again in my room. i know my sister will be happy as she will now be able to watch all her murder shows on the big tv when she is here.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Dark Side of the Ring was about the Dynamite Kid last night. he was one of my favorites when i was younger.

Dark Side of Football was about the Cleveland Browns last night.

The United States of Al was pretty funny last night.

Clarice was excellent last night.

the USWNT defeated Portugal last night, 1-0.

the Yankees, more like Aroldis Chapman, pissed away the lead last night and lost to the Twins, 7-5. for me to see that as the first thing i see in my room on the television in years was fucking cruel. the Yankees are off tonight and start a weekend series tomorrow in Philadelphia.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW, Pause with Sam Jay, Real Time with Bill Maher and Betty. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

i'll probably watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight as well.

while doing my laundry today, i'm watching some tennis and the start of the Euro 2020 between Italy and Turkey. i'll probably watch most of the Euro 2020 tournament over the next month.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

today was another hot and muggy day. i'm hoping we will get some rain to cool shit off. if not, i'll be out watering the plants when the sun goes down.

that's all for me kids. my back is killing me today.

until tomorrow...

so, it was raining sideways...

i know how crazy my Friday has been by the time i end up having lunch. on most days, i'm having lunch around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. today, i had lunch a little after 5 PM. fuck me.

i had to go to 3 grocery stores to get everything on the grocery list, which included some stuff my sister wanted me to look for. lovely. i found everything on the list and given everything i had to get, the fact i kept everything, including getting gas, under $200, is a minor miracle.

the New York Rangers played a game for the ages last night, defeating the Capitals 6-5 in OT. Mika Zibanejad tied a Rangers record last night, scoring 5 goals in the game, including the game winner in overtime. the Rangers are now just 2 points out from a playoff spot.

NXT UK was really good last night.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

The Unicorn was very funny last night. the season finale is next week.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

Indebted was good last night, although i would be shocked if this show gets a season 2.

Better Things was excellent last night.

Cake was fucking bizarre as usual last night.

Desus & Mero was funny as fuck last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher, High Maintenance and The Trade. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i should be on here tomorrow after i watch College GameDay on ESPN in the morning. they will be broadcasting from the University of Dayton. i do plan on having the blog done long before i leave for the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow night on senior night against George Washington.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i swear, one of these damn days, Spring will actually show up.

until tomorrow...

a rush of creativity and some other juices...

before i tip toe around the amazing phone conversation with the muse last night, tons of poetry news to get to...

i heard back from Cami at Easy Street on my poetry submission from earlier in the month. sadly, Easy Street is going on hiatus for god knows how long. so, those poems are back on the unpublished pile. i did send out 18 poems today. 3 to The Beatnik Cowboy; 4 to The Rye Whiskey Review (already accepted); 5 to Academy of the Heart And Mind (already accepted) and 6 to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the muse and i were notorious for our late night phone calls in the past. like real deep into the night, 3 or 4 in the morning. and since we both are a little crazy and a little sexual, things tend to get steamy from time to time. of course, none of that has happened in years, until last night. let's just say i love a dirty woman and i don't think i have heard such beautiful noises in my life. i can't wait to write these poems, trust me.

what made that even more surprising was just how fucking upset i was last night after the New York Yankees game. the Yankees lost 7-6 last night in a game they never should have lost. or, how i will remember it, the night Gary Sanchez decided he no longer gave a shit. he cost the Yankees 2 runs himself by simply not hustling. add on some curious decisions from the manager and your best starter hitting a rough patch... the Yankees are now 6 games behind Boston in the division. they really need to get a win tonight. of course, Sanchez is back on the disabled list because of his groin. that tells me he wasn't healed when he came back to begin with.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night, except for the fucking ending. i love the idea of the WWE doing an all women's ppv. that should be amazing. i liked most of the show up until Roman Reigns defeated Bobby Lashley clean to win the right to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. how many fucking times do we need to see that match Vince?

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, Fuck That's Delicious and Miz and Mrs. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

my arthritis has been killing me most of today. when it gets this bad, i have a hard time doing all the tricks you can do with the computer mouse. so, all those poems had to be retyped today. and considering this is my 3rd blog post of the day, i might as well be just giving myself carpal tunnel syndrome. i can remember my father having that after all the years at the post office. of course, the dumb ass had surgery on both wrists at the same time. part of me wishes mom would have divorced him right then and there for being fucking stupid.

i have trash to pickup around here and a quick nap in my massage chair before dinner. so, that's all for me kids. laundry day will be tomorrow i guess.

waking up to the sunshine

well, not literally as it was still fucking dark when i woke up. but, at least the sun is out now and it's not fucking raining. maybe i'll actually have a day without much pain. i know, i'm laughing as well.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching (FINALLY) from Tanaka and won the game last night in 10 innings, 2-1. that's a game they desperately needed to win. Gardner hit a big home run to send the game into extra innings. hopefully they can actually win 2 games in a row this afternoon.

the 2 episodes of NJPW were excellent last night. i can't wait to see next week's episode.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

i wasn't exactly thrilled with what the New York Rangers did last night in the first round of the NHL draft. i thought they reached for both picks. but, it at least sounds like they have a fucking plan, so i'm going to be patient enough to let it play out before i bitch and complain about it.
they don't have a pick until the 4th round today, so i'll probably just check the computer off and on to see who they take.

VICE was very good last night. i did have a good laugh when the Israeli cyber security person was shocked that one of the producers knew of one of Israel's secret military cyber organizations. and the part about Japan building up their weapons again was very interesting. i'm sure most people didn't remember that if Japan goes to war, the USA has to go with it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the Confederations Cup matches today should be rather interesting. Portugal vs. New Zealand and Mexico vs. Russia.

i know i have to go to the drugstore to return an item and find 3 other things for mom today. i'll probably squeeze that in between the NHL draft, soccer, the dishes, more laundry and making meatloaf.

i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. call if you need bail money.

after a stormy night

the damn storms came last night right as the DVR was starting to record the Sunday night shows as i was watching the Copa America final. hello frustration, my old friend. thankfully, HBO and Showtime show repeats all night more or less, so by 3 in the morning i had everything watched. and amazingly, i almost got 5 hours of sleep, so i feel like i'm running behind.

Copa America Update:
Chile defeated Argentina in penalty kicks for the second Copa America in a row. when Messi missed his penalty kick, i totally knew Argentina was fucked. to watch Messi in tears after the game was tough, but i never expected him to retire from the national team. i guess the pressure has finally defeated him. of course, heat of the moment, he'll most likely change his mind at some point. as for Chile, their energy was spectacular. this totally proves that last year was not a fluke. congrats to them, they completely deserve it.

Euro 2016 Update:
Germany dismantled Slovakia yesterday 3-0. Belgium beat Hungary 4-0. today, Italy takes on Spain and England takes on Iceland. the quarterfinals are shaping up to be really good.

the New York Yankees got embarrassed yesterday, losing 7-1. so much for a sweep. they start a series against Texas tonight. i feel more embarrassment coming, sadly.

Big Brother last night was pretty funny. i'm still amazed at how clueless the newbies are. i already know what's happened for the most part as i follow people who watch this show religiously. so the broadcast show is a way for me to put the words to some visuals.

the Sunday night shows were pretty good last night. the season finale of Silicon Valley was hilarious. the season finale of Veep was fucking great. Ray Donovan was pretty good last night. i liked Roadies more than i thought i would. Ron White was fucking hilarious. and as usual, Last Week Tonight was brilliant.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be How to Let Go of the World (and Love All the Things Climate Can't Change) on HBO.

i'll watch Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i got a request for some poems today, so i guess it's time to start making some decisions on my recent work. hopefully i have 15 unpublished poems i like. (fingers crossed)

the bug guy is supposed to come here this afternoon. i guess we have carpenter ants. good times.

i'm really hoping the advanced forecasts are wrong as it looks like it might rain the entire time we're in Cleveland. irritable in a different city... that sounds like i will need bail money.

Italy just scored to go up 1-0 on Spain.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

from a mighty wind to the cold sunshine

when i happened to look outside last night and noticed both our trash can and recyclable bin both turned over, i believe the first word out of my mouth was fuck. it was windy as hell last night. nothing quite like going from the 50's to a windchill in the single digits. i went out and brought both up to the house. i put them back down at the street when i woke up this morning. when i took mom to her appointment, i believe we saw some of our recyclables about 5 doors down. good times.

when the Dayton Flyers were down by 11 last night with 11 minutes left in the game, i was not a happy camper. thankfully, Scoochie decided to take the game over and Dayton went on an incredible run to win the game 85-84. this was a game Dayton desperately needed to win. plus, it's always fun to ruin someone's senior night. that being said, Dayton's senior night comes up on Saturday against VCU. that could be for the league title.

The Muppets was really good last night. i love how the show got better each week as the season went along.

Total Divas was hilarious last night.

The Voice was pretty good as well last night. i enjoyed a few of the performances:

i wrote 8 poems today while in the waiting room of my mother's physical therapy session. i typed them up when we got back home and i do think i have a couple winners in the batch.

i got that done in time to watch Manchester United play today. they had a big opportunity to pull even with Manchester Shitty on points in the Premier League if they won and Shitty lost. well, amazingly, Liverpool took care of Shitty 3-0 and United got a glorious goal from Juan Mata to win 1-0. i'll gladly enjoy that victory beer later this evening.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. after i watch that i'll watch NXT on WWE Network.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. it was once again excellent.

i now have to go figure out dinner. if it's what i usually do, i'll be going somewhere to pick something up. i believe physical therapy kicked mom's ass pretty good today.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i believe we are supposed to get snow. so much for that one day of fucking spring.

i hope this finds everyone in a warm place (use your dirty imagination please)

and here comes the pain

i believe my mother was shocked yesterday when i helped her with Christmas lights and some decorations. she wrongly believes that i hate this shit. it's more that i hate my memories of Christmas and all the fucking dysfunction and fights. having a father that made sure he got himself the best gift possible each year really disgusted any happy thought i would ever have of Christmas. but, now that the demon that spawned me has died, i can now do a little more with trying to create my own Christmas memories. plus, my mom wants to shock my sister since she believes we do nothing here other than sit on the computer and wait for death. good times.

amazingly, the New Orleans Saints actually won yesterday. i was so damn shocked i actually forgot to have my victory beer. i'll enjoy that this evening. the defense played probably the best it had played all season. and a 24-17 victory over a team with thoughts of making the playoffs was a very nice way to put a little joy into this miserable season.

Tables Ladders and Chairs was a pretty fun ppv last night on WWE Network. i was a little upset that they teased some fire in one of the matches but didn't do it. also, i'm hoping that Kevin Owens losing the Intercontinental Championship last night is a sign that he's going to be in the World Title scene soon and not shuffled back down to obscurity. the main event was somewhat boring until Roman Reigns snapped. kudos to HHH for still taking a beating like that at his age. it should make for an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.

the Stone Cold Podcast with HBK after the ppv was pretty good as well.

Homeland was fucking perfect last night. just enough tension and drama that sets up the finale next week to be a great one.

The Affair was excellent as well last night. i really can't wait to see what happens on the season finale.

my fantasy football teams got ravaged by injuries yesterday. i've already lost 2 of the matches. the third one i have a 12 point lead and i have to win to make the playoffs in all 3 leagues. that might be the only thing i will get to be proud of this season. i won another week in fantasy hockey. that's two in a row. maybe the worm has turned.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and the Adele in NYC special on NBC. i'm really interested to see how the first night of The Voice finale goes.

the book i ordered from Ally Malinenko arrived today. i'm really looking forward to reading it.

i think i might be going out with mom today to get an outdoor timer for the Christmas lights. i'm hoping that the cold front has moved through the area. i hate going out in the rain.

my uncle seems to be doing better. i think he's going to be in the hospital one more day. i'm hoping someone there tells him how close he came to dying. it's time they stop sugarcoating chemo and the cancer he has. he wanted to be aggressive and fight it and it nearly killed him. maybe he wants to rethink that strategy. or maybe he wants to give us all a Christmas memory.

when i say all the time i come from a dysfunctional family, i'm not bullshitting you or embellishing the stories to make it sound worse. you learn as a writer, nothing can be scarier than the truth.

i hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. if not, have another drink.

i've seen enough of people for awhile

mom and i went out to do some shopping today. we left around 10 this morning. when we got back home around 4 something, i was spent. but, of course, i couldn't go take a nap or just shoot the shit online. i had suet to put out, baseball cards to put on the wall and put in an album, etc., etc. strap in for a ride my friends.

while i thought we were going to go out car shopping today, mom changed her mind. so, the first stop was to this bird store where the rich people live. we found this hot pepper and insect suet that apparently squirrels hate. hopefully that is true. it was pathetic watching the guy behind the counter flirt with my mother. i did all i could do to not laugh. after that, it was a trip to the fancy photo frames and other shit for memorabilia type store. i needed some more frames for some autographed baseball cards i forgot i had and a display case for a football, for an autographed Buddy Guy guitar strap and who knows what else. amazingly, i think i found some shit that will actually work. then, we started the wild goose chase for the right things to hang plates. we finally found it at the 4th store we went to. in between that we got gas and lunch. at the second store, i think i might have seen one of the most beautiful black women i have ever seen in my life. just the right amount of tattoos and attitude. it's the closest i have come to asking a woman to sit on my face as i would have absolutely gone to jail for this one.

if i get off of my lazy ass one day, i'll take some pictures of the collectibles hanging in the house and in my room. and maybe one of the batman night light i got today as well.

enjoy some music:

the New York Yankees won last night 5-1 up in Boston. that means they will finish in first place at the all-star break for the first time in a few years. they are playing right now as i am typing this. hopefully i will be enjoying a victory beer after the game tonight.

team USA once again played like shit in the Gold Cup last night against Haiti. and apparently, Clint Dempsey is the only one allowed to score:
thankfully, that goal stood up as they won 1-0. that wins them the group as well. here are the highlights for the game:

Treehouse Masters was pretty good last night. NJPW was excellent as usual last night.

now, enjoy some educational shit:

Manchester United has been busy the last few days. i love the Memphis Depay signing. i also like the Matteo Darmian signing as well. but, this morning, the holy shit one came through.
i never thought i would see Bastian Schweinsteiger ever leave Bayern Munich, let alone leave it to come to Manchester United. and hopefully, they aren't done.

tonight on television will be ROH and god knows what else. i figure at some point my energy is going to drain out completely. so, maybe i'll get a nap in while watching the baseball game.

the weather today was as close to fucking perfect as possible. hell, i even had to wear sunglasses today as i was driving. of course, this means that tomorrow is supposed to be rain from fucking hell. so, if the power doesn't go out, i'll be on here early tomorrow. if you don't see anything from me tomorrow you'll know that i'm busy figuring out what to take for the ark.

hope everyone is having a great weekend.

who doesn't love a quickie?

so, in a day where i've had a shit load of computer problems, boxed up more of my life, talked with a beautiful woman in Africa, and typed up a poem that was stuck in my head for two damn days, what do i come here to bitch about today?

IT'S FUCKING COLD OUTSIDE

a high temp of 13 today. holy shit, i can't wait to start loading up cars and vans to move my life in this shit. fuck me.

here's a quick view of my yesterday...

the New York Rangers blew another fucking lead (3-0) but held on this time to beat Columbus in a shootout (4-3). here are the highlights from the game:

i did watch a bit of the Academy Awards last night. here is the only thing i saw that i thought was worth anything:

the Sunday night shows were good. The Jinx took another twist that was fascinating. Girls was pretty funny. Togetherness was really good. Last Week Tonight had yet another brilliant 30 minutes of news and comedy: for example:

Total Divas was good as well last night.

Togetherness actually helped me finish the damn poem that was stuck in my head for two days. i didn't know how i was going to finish it and then something clicked while i was watching the show. i typed the poem up this afternoon (once the computer started working correctly again) and i really like it.

tonight is a true clusterfuck on television for me. Gotham, Monday Night Raw, and The Voice are all on at the exact same time. now, next week, when i FINALLY have a DVR, i will no longer have to bitch about this. but, for tonight, i guess the plan is to watch Gotham and then flip to The Voice and Monday Night Raw during the commercial breaks. since Raw is the night after a ppv, i will probably watch that more. but, i know if i'm up at 3 or 4 in the morning, i'll be playing catch up on YouTube with both shows. either that or hunting for boxes to fill up with old music and books. good times.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone had a great, wonderful weekend. if not, it could always be worse. you could be going to live next to the father of the cousin that molested you. anyone want that fresh slice of hell? or at the very least, would you like to help me pack a few boxes? just asking.

a busy boy and the inevitable wait at the post office

i woke up this morning amazingly refreshed. perhaps i should do more drinking right before i go to bed. what could possibly go wrong in that scenario? i got my ass in gear and decided to get all my Christmas cards done today. so, be checking your mail boxes in a few days to see if you're a lucky one or not. my apologies to my friends and fans not in the USA, my poor ass has nothing for you this year. i'm hoping to make up for that next year. and if you think you should have gotten something from me, chances are i don't have your address or you have suddenly found out what i really think of you.

i got to the post office and i must have been the 7th or 8th person in line. god bless the guy behind the counter, he was going as fast as he could go. and, given that most of the customers were elderly, i'm surprised he still has patience left. he must love me. i know exactly how i want the shit shipped and i have cash in hand. amazingly, the last package i was waiting on for Christmas arrived today. so, now all i have is some wrapping of presents to do. i burned my sister's CD this morning, so i can actually take a breath and relax for a few moments. i think i'll do the wrapping later in the week.

i'm trailing in my fantasy football playoff game by 3 points. thankfully, i have a WR going tonight for Chicago. but, i'd love to see New Orleans actually win the game. so, if i can just get 4 points from the guy, i'll be thrilled. if that happens, i advance to the finals.

the Sunday night shows were awesome last night. The Newsroom was a reintroduction to the characters and why we as the audience care about them. it was an excellent series finale. Homeland was fucking crazy once again. i can't wait for the season finale next week. The Affair was amazing last night. the acting was top notch. and the ending was fucking perfect. that season finale next week should be great.

i was able to watch the last 5 minutes of the New York Rangers game last night after the shows ended. apparently, i didn't miss much. the Rangers won 2-0 over Edmonton. that shutout by King Henrik helped me win my fantasy hockey week 8-2. below are some highlights from the game:

tonight is my usual clusterfuck of a Monday. the season finale of The Voice starts tonight. i'm a little interested in seeing what songs they perform to try to win the show. at the same time, Monday Night Raw will be on. they are coming off a ppv that most people didn't like, so tonight should be real interesting. also, i'll be keeping an eye on the Monday Night Football game. i'd love to enjoy a late night victory beer, but i'm not getting my hopes up. later tonight i'm planning on watching the Men in Blazers show as i figure they will have some fun with the Manchester United win from over the weekend.

after all that, hopefully i'll get some sleep. i'll probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the bank. got the first bill from my Christmas shopping today, so this deposit will be a timely one.

that's all for me today. i've got to go make dinner. frozen pizza. lovely. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

change or at least the possibility of it happening

so, i went to check out the house yesterday with my sister and mother. of course, within 2 minutes of getting these my uncle was out on his scooter (for the elderly, not hipsters) to talk to us. the realtor was running late. once she got there, we went inside. the outside looked nice and looks pretty easy to maintain. the inside was pretty nice as well. a ton of storage which would be good for all the shit we have. what would be my bedroom is a good size. not sure about the bathrooms, but that would be an issue for a later date. after talking to my mother and sister, my sister decided to make an offer for the house. we should find out tomorrow if we're getting it or not. while i'm not thrilled with living next to family, it certainly will make the poetry interesting. and any writer will tell you interesting is never a bad thing.

after that, i came back home to watch the New Orleans Saints lose a heart breaker in OT, 27-24. the loss drops them back under .500. of course, having been a fan of this team on and off since the 1980's, i'm sort of numb to these types of losses. making the playoffs will be that much harder now.

the New York Rangers played like shit last night, except for the goalie who did his best to keep them in a game they had no interest in playing. a 3-1 loss to Edmonton when you get outplayed for 60 minutes is fucking unacceptable. they made some minor roster moves this evening, but i doubt they will be much help with the Penguins coming up tomorrow.

one of my fantasy football teams comes into tonight down by 67 points. needless to say, i don't think i have a fucking chance in that one. as for the other one, i'm up by 3 points and still have 3 players to go tonight. i feel good about that one.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. The Newsroom was fucking great. i love how well written the show is week after week. Last Week Tonight was hilarious as always. Homeland was a mind fuck last night. The Affair peeled a little more of the onion last night and the ending definitely set my mind racing where the show goes next.

as for tonight, a bit of a clusterfuck, but not too bad. i have no plans on watching the football game. and Monday Night Raw is over in England, so there's a good chance i will simply find out what happens and then only watch what the live reports said were good. so, that leaves me bouncing between Gotham and the first live shows for this season of The Voice. i should be able to manage that pretty good.

i've got to get the farm ready for the winter blast coming our way in a few days. mostly closing up barns and taking account of what is broken. i'm going to be interested to see how the cats handle a few days in a row of it being cold. i don't think some of the young ones are cut out for it.

i got some great music on NoiseTrade today. if you are a fan of Springsteen or Tom Waits, you'll definitely want to check out this FREE music. the link will be below.

that's pretty much all for me. i think i may try to do some writing tonight. i've got a few words swimming up in my head. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

misery is a mistress with beautiful long legs

so i got up this morning begrudgingly. i was so damn warm in my bed and i believe i was having a dream about an old girlfriend cheating on her husband with me. i went downstairs and got settled in for the Manchester United game. no Rooney today because of a suspension but much to my surprise, RVP made his return.

yet another game where United hit the goal post and had a goal called back for being offside (correct call). and yet another game where Manchester United has ruined my fucking day. a 1-0 loss at HOME to Newcastle United for the first time in 41 years. fuck me. it appears now that Moyes is simply grasping at straws trying to find the right lineup. i wouldn't be surprised if they are 15 points out of first by the end of the weekend. i'm not sure if the 99 team could have come back from that deficit. and yes, it may seem like i have given up hope, but i haven't. i learned a long time ago that sometimes sports gives you a giant shit sandwich. if you love the good times you have no choice but to take a fucking bite and swallow it.

i was pretty happy last night when i saw that the Yankees signed Carlos Beltran. as long as he can stay healthy i think he will definitely help make up for some of the production that has left. now, sign some fucking pitchers already.

after i get done with this post i'm going to type up the 10 poems i wrote yesterday. i figure it would be better to do that than just fucking be miserable for the rest of the day.

my evening will be pretty tricky. roughly around the same time, the New York Rangers will be at home against the Devils. the #25 Dayton Flyers will be on the road against Illinois St., hopefully avenging the loss last year to them. and Ohio State will be playing Michigan St. for the BIG 10 Championship and the right to go to the National Championship. there will be plenty of channel flipping and i might have to have the radio on in the background. mom's tablet will be getting a workout this evening.

so, hopefully full of victory beers, i'll be watching a new episode of Saturday Night Live. it should be a good one. and a new episode of ROH if i am somehow still awake.

my afternoon will be plenty of college sports, mostly football i imagine. i was able to get the walks cleaned off this morning so i don't have to worry about those for the rest of the day. we really only got about 4 inches of snow. we have a few drifts over 6 inches. and of course, i have to go through those to get to the cats. i am a bit worried as i haven't seen my cat A Boy Named Sue in the last few days. it's not a shock when she goes missing but it is a shock when she doesn't show up before or after we have a storm. we've got another one coming tomorrow so hopefully she'll show up then.

mom was able to make it out to get to the post office and whatnot. hopefully the roads aren't too bad around here. and hopefully her new sunglasses work correctly as it is one bright ass day so far out here.

i'll be back on here in the morning tomorrow unless something i just need to fucking babble about happens this evening. then it might be one of my infamous 3 in the morning drunk posts. those are always fun.

hope your weekend started off better than mine. be safe, be warm, and be on the lookout for mail from me.

in case you ever wondered where the magic comes from

let me peel back the onion on a 30 minute snapshot of my life and basically, where all my poetry comes from.

at 12:30 each afternoon, i am usually getting the stuff together to feed the cats. today, i happened to be on the toilet. no big deal, i'll just feed the cats later. about 20 minutes later, i'm feeding the cats. didn't see many of them, but it was sunny out and i figured they were hunting. i got back inside and the phone was ringing. it's my mother. i talked to her for a few and then got ready to go into town to get the mail. as i started down the 1/4 mile lane i got an urge to shit. at the end of the lane, i picked up the empty trash cans and threw them in the back of my barely running old truck. i raced back up the lane and ran inside. i made the old bathroom and pulled down my pants. shit was falling out of my ass right as i sat down on the bowl. i looked up and there is a mirror right above the sink where you can see your face as you are sitting on the toilet. i said out loud

AND YOU WONDER WHY YOU'RE  STILL SINGLE?

i laughed and started a conversation with myself as the bowl filled up with brown liquid. i don't think it could be called shit at this rate. and if you ever wonder where many of my poems come from, it's those damn conversations with myself on the toilet.

enjoy the visuals.

the Sunday night shows were pretty damn good last night. i have no complaints with any of them.

i feel bad for my mother. she sits there all day long on Sunday listening to me bitch and moan about my fantasy teams. and then i checked them late last night and i'm up by 34 in one and by over 60 in the other. and all i can think about is if i would have started this guy i'd be up by... i'm not quite satisfied until it's perfect. that's why sports are so insatiable to me. perfection is beyond rare.

no need for me to watch the NFL game tonight. while both of my opponents have players going, they could have the greatest game ever and still not catch me. so, it will be a night bouncing between The Voice and Monday Night Raw.

when i got up for my morning piss i heard on the radio that there is a chance for snow later this week. i just shook my head and laughed.

well, that's all for today. hopefully i will come to you tomorrow without yet another shit story to share.

the sky opened up and...

we had a quick thunderstorm move through today right as i was getting ready to feed the cats. needless to say, i waited. and waited. we might have got close to an inch in less than 30 minutes. thankfully, the changes we made out here have worked. the drainage is light years better than what it was.

as for the cats, Whitey showed up today. i didn't see any visual signs of a fight or anything, so i have no clue where she was. but, she was really nice today, so i figure she was off doing some evil shit. my cat Tolstoy was a no show once again. i've got a bad feeling about that one, which would suck, as Tolstoy was definitely a cat that wasn't scared of anything. that probably was the downfall as well.

i sent out 13 poems today; 3 to Dead Snakes and 5 each to BoySlut and Gutter Eloquence Magazine. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the news here on the blog.

i got the first batch of illustrations from the artist in Sweden. let's just say i haven't been this excited for a project in some time. they are fucking amazing. i will hopefully get to share them soon. in the meantime, check out Janne Karlsson at his site:

The Bridge last night was a slow burn. but the last 10 minutes got me really interested to see what happens next week.

after that ended, i turned over just in time to watch Mo blow the save for the Yankees. i then tortured myself and watched the rest of the game. Cano homered in the top of the 12th but these are the 2013 Yankees, a team that has snatched defeat from the clutches of victory more times than i can remember. so, of course, with only needing 1 out to win once again, the Yankees give up 3 straight hits to lose 6-5. as a die-hard, i'm not allowed to utter that the season is over. but...

i was hoping to watch the double eviction on Big Brother tonight but the assholes here in Dayton will be showing the Cleveland Browns preseason game. and i'm not waiting up until 2 am to see what happens. so, for a good portion of tonight, i'll be on the computer looking at twitter.

Wilfred looks like another great one tonight. hopefully it will make me laugh as it always does.

i had the pleasure of stumbling upon the LinkedIn profile of the friend that got me into this whole poetry world back when i was 16 today. we haven't had the opportunity to speak to each other in over a decade. so, i really hope to hear from him soon.

that's all for today. i need to get a shower in and get the brain buzzing about 3 poems i need to write this weekend.

welcome to the weekend

yesterday, the Yankees committed one of the sins of all sports. when coming from behind, once you take the lead, you can't give that lead right back and expect to win. the Yankees did exactly that as they lost 8-3. thankfully, MLB blackout rules will keep me from seeing today's game. another loss would not shock me at all. i get the feeling this team is going to frustrate the living shit out of me this season.

last night, the Rangers played about the best road game they have played all season. they lost 2-1 in a shootout unfortunately. they did get a huge point. they play a struggling Carolina team tonight, and 2 points is a MUST. i figure i will flip to that during commercial breaks of the Final 4.

the weather warmed up a bit today but, and given that i've lived all my 37 years in the state of Ohio, there's always a but when it comes to the weather, the wind is colder than shit. what is supposed to be in the 60's feels like the 40's. fuck me.

bird feeder update: i guess the deer repellent and raccoon repellent worked as the bird feeder was still hanging this morning. now, we'll see how long it lasts.

spent the rest of this morning watching and listening to Wrestlemania interviews, checking out ROH ppv results (i'm a bit shocked to say the least), and listening to Bert Kreischer's podcast. i highly recommend the latest podcast, especially if you need a good laugh today. you can find it at http://bertcast.com/

new SNL tonight and a little ROH tv before i go to bed and get ready for my Sunday as a child. Wrestlemania is the only wrestling ppv i get each year and i have seen all 28 so far. from the first one going to Hara Arena with my father to watch on closed circuit television to last year watching on a big screen out here on the farm. i'm hoping Wrestlemania 29 will shock a few people this year. i'm kind of amazed at the number of people who are already shitting on it before it happens. of course, i shouldn't be that shocked seeing that wrestling fans think they know exactly what is best for the show. and considering i'm one of those fans, perhaps my positive thoughts are simply wishing for the best.

any posts from me tomorrow will be early. and if you email, don't worry, i'll get to it eventually. but for most of tomorrow i'll be in front of a television.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Daphne Gottlieb.

hope this post finds everyone well, with a fresh drink in your hand, not a single care in the fucking world at the moment.

a saturday without humidity

so, due to MLB's stupid blackout rules, i wasn't able to watch the Yankees game today/tonight (thanks rain delay). and after seeing them fall behind 6-1, come all the way back and then lose 8-6, i was pretty sure i didn't want to see the highlights. and after seeing the highlights, i was right. hate losing to that team especially on fluke plays and after a great (i guess) comeback. fuck. (thank you to crawls on the bottom of MLB Network and ESPN2)

so after that i, for some reason, flipped to PBS and watched the rest of The Hustler. made me think of my early 20's drinking for free in local pool halls. the more drunk i got the better i played. made the drives home interesting.

absolutely loved the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. i thought Danny Boyle put on a great show. i've watched bits and pieces of the events off and on today. when the basketball starts i'll really start giving a shit.

always fun to watch Chelsea lose. this time to AC Milan. good times.
