Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. i hope you have a wonderful day.
yesterday might have been one of the crazier days of my life. after thinking about the bullshit my sister did yesterday, the more i think she planned the whole thing out. i didn't include in the blog yesterday that my sister came back (she forgot some of her shit in the bathroom) and as she was leaving a second time, she gave my mother a ring back. now, this was the ring my father gave my mother for their 20th wedding anniversary. this was a ring my sister asked my mother to give her, which she did. the fact that my sister made a point to give it back to my mother and say pawn it, chop it up, whatever, i don't fucking want it anymore, makes me believe my sister thinks she was proving a point. as i told a friend last night, my belief is my sister doesn't want to be a part of this family and i am proceeding as that is the way it is going to be from this point forward. now, what truly pisses me off, that person that used to be known as my sister, knows mom can't handle stress that well. knows that mom's health is failing her. so, i was the lucky one that got to see her shit and puke the rest of the fucking day and night. and here it is noon on Sunday and she hasn't made it out of her bedroom yet. i know for a fact, that if my former sister would have it her way, mom would be in a nursing home and forgotten about. yet, i'm the asshole that wants to respect her wishes and watch it play out, as painfully as it could be. now, i'm one that knows how to hold a fucking grudge until the bitter fucking end. and knowing my former sister never let mom know if she made it back home yesterday or contacted her at all, and the level of stress and worry that gives my mother, my former sister is probably a few hours away from being dead to me FOREVER.
the New York Rangers lost to Pittsburgh last night, 7-4. Pittsburgh is now up 2-1 in the series. next game is Monday night.
here are your highlights from the rest of the NHL playoffs yesterday:
i did watch the Kentucky Derby yesterday. i wish the State of Ohio would get its head out of its ass and get sports betting going in this state. when an 80-1 shot wins the Kentucky Derby, i would have loved to had a little piece of that action.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:
i did watch a little of the MLS games yesterday:
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Barry, The Baby, Last Week Tonight, Gaslit, VICE, The Man Who Fell To Earth and Ziwe. i'll be watching WWE WrestleMania Backlash for most of the evening on Peacock.
oh yeah, as for the Manchester United game. i didn't see much of it as i had to miss the start since i had to run to a different pharmacy and gets the pills called in for my mother before the pharmacy closed. thankfully, i got there with about 8 minutes to spare. by the time i got home, United was already down 1-0. they must have just quit since the final score was 4-0. Brighton whipped them from what the highlights showed. this finally takes away any chance of finishing in the top 4. and as i have said earlier, i won't be surprised when they fail to finish in the top 6.
the New York Yankees play a doubleheader at home today against the Texas Rangers. i guess the rain has finally cleared out of New York. hopefully, the Yankees will win both games today.
and hopefully, my mother will get out of bed and actually feel like eating something today and maybe opening the funny ass gift i got her and the card.
i did do a little poetry work late last night. if i find the time today, i will send those 8 poems out.
i hope everyone had a better Saturday than i did. and i hope your Sunday will be even better than that.

i wanted to get up at 6 this morning. when i saw the clock was at 5:56, i decided to just get a little more sleep. that little more got me to 7:05. so yeah, i never get good sleep, more like i get the equivalent to a power nap. good times.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was really good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits.
Ohio State has a huge game today at home against Michigan State. hopefully, the boys won't be looking ahead to their game next week up north.
the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Austin Peay. i'm hoping Dayton plays better today but i have no reason to believe they will, let alone win.
Manchester United plays this morning at Watford. i'm really hoping United starts off this run of games with a victory.
i will most likely be on here tomorrow before the Saints play the Eagles. more on that game tomorrow morning.
i need to go shower and get ready to watch Manchester United.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

so, i woke up this morning and it felt like someone had driven a railroad spike between my shoulder blades on my back. add to that a headache that started in the back of my head and went to the front, today has been fucking miserable. and i haven't been able to shake either. joy.
the New York Rangers played better last night, but lost to Dallas, 3-2 in OT. they play tomorrow night in Montreal. hopefully, they will find a way to get a win.
Young Sheldon was good last night.
United States of Al was good last night.
B Positive was hilarious last night.
Cake was weird as usual last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was about Luna Vachon last night. it was awesome.
What We Do in the Shadows was fucking funny as hell last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
it has been threatening to rain here all day long. according to the radar, we might actually get some heavy shit in about 10 minutes.
needless to say, i didn't get my laundry or any writing done today.
i did get the last of the gifts i ordered for my mother for Christmas today. now, i'm just waiting on the last gift for my sister to arrive.
i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. hopefully, i'll be in a good mood.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

so, i got up around 7:30 this morning to take a piss. while i was in the bathroom, i heard a thud. i asked my mother if she just fell out of bed? she said yeah. i hurried up and finished and got to her. i think, at first, she was more embarrassed than anything. of course, when she saw the cut on her arm and the bruise forming near her eye, she realized it was more than just embarrassment. this will be fun tomorrow at the doctor's office, especially since she likes to make jokes about me being mean to her and threatening her, etc.
it's been in the 80's today, so i have spent the majority of the day inside.
the Yankees pissed away a lead yesterday, but still found a way to sweep the White Sox., 5-4. they are off today and start a series with Toronto tomorrow night.
Manchester United made 10 changes to the lineup yesterday, mostly because of the Europa League final coming up. they defeated Wolves, 2-1. they finished in second place for this season in the Premier League. they also finished the season undefeated in the league on the road. first time they have EVER done that and only the 4th team to do so. now, they just need to win that Europa League final and get the right players in the summer to go win another Premier League and/or Champions League final.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:
i was really happy that Obi Toppin got to play and score for the Knicks yesterday, even though they ended up losing to Atlanta.
i did see that team USA won yesterday at the World Hockey Championships. they defeated Canada 5-1 a day after they lost to Finland, 2-1.
Axios was good last night.
Mare of Easttown was great last night. i can't fucking wait for the finale next week.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
The Chi was excellent last night.
Black Monday was hilarious last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was pretty funny last night.
Ziwe was great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Monday Night Raw and night 1 of the finale of The Voice.
i did listen to episode 344 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:
i'm still working on a huge mug of coffee this morning. i didn't get to sleep until 5 this morning. ah, the joys of a poet's life on the weekend. where watching porn is actually "research" and sleep is an option that no one ever fucking needs. i guess Wild Turkey had more of a say in the night than i even thought.
Manchester United played a lifeless 0-0 draw yesterday against Chelsea. the optimist in me could say well, at least they didn't lose at home or the defense played good enough for a clean sheet finally. but, i'm not a fucking optimist.
Ohio State whipped Nebraska yesterday, 52-17. considering Nebraska scored first and made it look really easy, i was pleased with how the defense stepped up over the course of the game. next up for Ohio State is a trip to Penn State next Saturday night.
i did watch a good portion of Indiana upsetting Penn State in OT yesterday. i guess someone got caught looking ahead.
i also caught the last half inning of the World Series last night. that was fucking crazy.
ROH was excellent last night.
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
Austin City Limits had Rufus Wainwright on last night. it was excellent.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Our Cartoon President, The Good Lord Bird, The Comedy Store, Desus & Mero, The Undoing, Last Week Tonight and Seduced: Inside The NXIVM Cult. i'll be watching WWE Hell in a Cell for most of the evening.
the New Orleans Saints play at home today against the Panthers. New Orleans is missing a ton of players today between injuries and COVID-19. i'm bracing for the worst today.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping for the early afternoon, but given how the weather is supposed to be around here, your guess is as good as mine.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

apparently, i took a big of enough shit this morning that i clogged up the toilet. all those years on the farm with power flush toilets, i never even thought of needing a plunger. so, imagine my surprise when my mom uses the toilet and then runs into my room and asks why isn't the fucking toilet flushing? i went to the garage because i thought i remembered there was two plungers in there when we moved in. eventually i found them and of course, they didn't work for shit. so, off to the hardware store. funny thing is, mom and i were at a different hardware store last night. so we ended up getting a couple of plungers and a better outdoor timer for the Christmas lights. that was what we went out last night for. mom was hungry so we went to Waffle House for lunch. i figured that would be the true test to see if the plunger actually works. after lunch, i went to work. we got a plunger that's almost like an air tube you use to pump up tires or a basketball. thankfully, i got the damn thing unclogged before my damn back gave out. good times.
The Voice last night was pretty good. i think Jordan should win tonight, though if there is an upset, it will be because of Emily Ann's performance last night. that was the best performance she has done all season. but, nothing compares to the performance Jordan gave last week.
honestly, if that performance doesn't win him the show, i'll be shocked yet again.
i did pull off a little miracle last night and won the fantasy football match that i had to win. so, for the first time EVER, i have made the playoffs in all 3 leagues. given how crazy my life has been the last month or so, i'm pretty fucking happy with this. now, i've already pissed away the chance to win a championship in all 3, but i will be happier than a pig in shit if i win the other 2 leagues. it won't be easy.
check out a food blog from my good friend, Cynthia Lewis. 2 Spoons Of Sugar you can also find some posts from the blog on the right hand side of this blog.
i did enjoy the Adele special last night. it's hard to believe she hasn't done much performing in the last 4 years. she sounds as amazing as she ever has.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i didn't care for the pacing of the show, but the main event made up for everything. excellent storytelling, great action, and a true "organic" kind of moment with a new champion. i'll give Roman Reigns credit, to get thousand of fans to cheer for you less than a year after those same fans booed the shit out of you is impressive. hopefully he takes the ball and runs with it.
tonight on the DVR will be The Voice finale.
the New York Rangers will try to end their losing streak tonight at home against Edmonton. the game will mark the NHL debut of Brady Skjei. he's the young defenseman that i have been longing for the club to call up. hopefully he plays well enough to stay. and hopefully the team gets a damn win tonight.
in between the hockey and The Voice, i'll probably be helping mom with some Christmas shit as well as getting the trash ready to take out.
my uncle isn't home yet. i think the family has finally figured out that the chemo is whipping his ass much more than anyone thought it would. and sadly, that includes the doctors as well. hopefully my uncle also understands that he needs to be completely honest with the doctors and tell them exactly what is going on. as i learned with my stepfather, pride will kill you before cancer will.
and on that uplifting note, i bid you adieu.
i hope everyone had a great day. hopefully your Christmas shopping is done. but not before you remembered to get me something (HINT, HINT).

i believe my mother was shocked yesterday when i helped her with Christmas lights and some decorations. she wrongly believes that i hate this shit. it's more that i hate my memories of Christmas and all the fucking dysfunction and fights. having a father that made sure he got himself the best gift possible each year really disgusted any happy thought i would ever have of Christmas. but, now that the demon that spawned me has died, i can now do a little more with trying to create my own Christmas memories. plus, my mom wants to shock my sister since she believes we do nothing here other than sit on the computer and wait for death. good times.
amazingly, the New Orleans Saints actually won yesterday. i was so damn shocked i actually forgot to have my victory beer. i'll enjoy that this evening. the defense played probably the best it had played all season. and a 24-17 victory over a team with thoughts of making the playoffs was a very nice way to put a little joy into this miserable season.
Tables Ladders and Chairs was a pretty fun ppv last night on WWE Network. i was a little upset that they teased some fire in one of the matches but didn't do it. also, i'm hoping that Kevin Owens losing the Intercontinental Championship last night is a sign that he's going to be in the World Title scene soon and not shuffled back down to obscurity. the main event was somewhat boring until Roman Reigns snapped. kudos to HHH for still taking a beating like that at his age. it should make for an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.
the Stone Cold Podcast with HBK after the ppv was pretty good as well.
Homeland was fucking perfect last night. just enough tension and drama that sets up the finale next week to be a great one.
The Affair was excellent as well last night. i really can't wait to see what happens on the season finale.
my fantasy football teams got ravaged by injuries yesterday. i've already lost 2 of the matches. the third one i have a 12 point lead and i have to win to make the playoffs in all 3 leagues. that might be the only thing i will get to be proud of this season. i won another week in fantasy hockey. that's two in a row. maybe the worm has turned.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and the Adele in NYC special on NBC. i'm really interested to see how the first night of The Voice finale goes.
the book i ordered from Ally Malinenko arrived today. i'm really looking forward to reading it.
i think i might be going out with mom today to get an outdoor timer for the Christmas lights. i'm hoping that the cold front has moved through the area. i hate going out in the rain.
my uncle seems to be doing better. i think he's going to be in the hospital one more day. i'm hoping someone there tells him how close he came to dying. it's time they stop sugarcoating chemo and the cancer he has. he wanted to be aggressive and fight it and it nearly killed him. maybe he wants to rethink that strategy. or maybe he wants to give us all a Christmas memory.
when i say all the time i come from a dysfunctional family, i'm not bullshitting you or embellishing the stories to make it sound worse. you learn as a writer, nothing can be scarier than the truth.
i hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. if not, have another drink.
