hopefully it won't be a rainy day...

it rained on and off most of the day yesterday. i have found that if my mind is on something else, i can pretty much manage the pain of my arthritis. it is when i am in the moody, dreamy, mind all over the place moments where the pain becomes too much at times. so, with all the college football games on yesterday, it made it pretty simple to block out the pain.

Ohio State defeated Purdue yesterday, 41-7. they play Penn State next week.

i did watch plenty of college football yesterday.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Columbus, 5-3. the home opener is tomorrow night against Arizona.

the USMNT lost to Germany yesterday, 3-1. they play Ghana on Tuesday.

AEW Collision was very good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Billions, Power Book IV: Force, Last Week Tonight and Shining Vale.

the New Orleans Saints play at Houston today. hopefully, they will win.

the baseball playoffs start back up today and tomorrow. the Astros take on the Rangers in the ALCS. in the NLCS, the Phillies play the Diamondbacks.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

laundry day

since Ohio State is off this week, i figured today would be a good day to get my laundry done. of course, there is plenty of other shit i would like to be doing, but laundry seems to be a necessary evil when you have to actually go out into the world. oh well. i'll start that after i get home from Rite Aid. i need to pick up a prescription.

the Yankees lost yesterday to Cleveland, 4-2 in 10 innings. the series is now 1-1 and goes to Cleveland for a game tonight. if the Yankees don't win tonight, i have a pretty good feeling they will lose this series.

here are your highlights from the MLB playoffs yesterday:

the New York Rangers lost last night in Winnipeg, 4-1. this was a game of running into a hot goalie and him outplaying your backup. plus, the Rangers were on their 3rd game in 4 nights and this was the Jets first game of the season. shit happens.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

Los Espookys was really funny last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of college football today on top of the MLB playoffs. the MLS playoffs start today as well.

i got my order from Repacked Wax today. so, that will take up whatever spare time i have today between sports and my laundry.

i am going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the morning.

if not then, who knows.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

a big thank you to everyone who has checked out my latest published poems:

the beauty of having a bad back...

so, i woke up this morning and it felt like someone had driven a railroad spike between my shoulder blades on my back. add to that a headache that started in the back of my head and went to the front, today has been fucking miserable. and i haven't been able to shake either. joy.

the New York Rangers played better last night, but lost to Dallas, 3-2 in OT. they play tomorrow night in Montreal. hopefully, they will find a way to get a win.

Young Sheldon was good last night.

United States of Al was good last night.

B Positive was hilarious last night.

Cake was weird as usual last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was about Luna Vachon last night. it was awesome.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking funny as hell last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

it has been threatening to rain here all day long. according to the radar, we might actually get some heavy shit in about 10 minutes.

needless to say, i didn't get my laundry or any writing done today.

i did get the last of the gifts i ordered for my mother for Christmas today. now, i'm just waiting on the last gift for my sister to arrive.

i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. hopefully, i'll be in a good mood.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

so of course, it rained all day...

today has been a war between me and arthritis. arthritis is winning, although i did manage to get a little work done on my baseball cards. i got all my cards from the 1970's in the same binder now. that will make it much easier to find shit. i got my order of toploaders in today as well, so i was able to get the cards into the hard plastic.

as for poems, plenty of lines dancing in my head, but nothing can find their way to the fucking page. joy.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was fucking great last night.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i think Memphis will be evicted tonight. at least, i think that's probably the best move for Cody and Enzo to make.

Cari & Jemele Stick to Sports was really good last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy last night. i'm still a little shocked at who Baby Alien was.

I Can See Your Voice was pretty good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Desus & Mero. i watched NXT UK earlier today. it was fucking great.

i should be on here tomorrow after i go to the bank. if some money arrives in the mail tomorrow, i'll be heading to the post office as well.

i think it's actually supposed to almost feel cold tomorrow. might have to break out my hoodie once again.

i really am hoping at some point before the next blog i get some poems down on paper.

that's all for me kids.

say hello to the cold sunshine...

the furnace kicked on like a motherfucker at 4 this morning. of course, i was still awake, mostly because mom has pills to take at 4... i believe it got down into the 30's here last night. joy. as usual Ohio weather goes, i think it's supposed to get into the 70's today.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

The Voice was good last night. the battle rounds started finally.

it was so good to see Desus & Mero back on last night. it was fucking hilarious as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Total Divas, Mr. Mercedes, Mayans M.C. and The Jim Jefferies Show.

the New York Yankees play Game 3 of the ALCS at home this afternoon against Houston. the Astros have their best pitcher going, so the Yankees are going to need a ton of luck to win today.

the USMNT takes on Canada tonight in Toronto in the CONCACAF Nations League.

i get the feeling that i might have to take mom to get some blood work done today, so i figured i better get the blog done now.

the Nationals are up 3-0 on the Cardinals in the NLCS. unless a miracle happens, the Nationals will be going to the World Series. i'll laugh my ass off if that happens. let Bryce Harper walk away and then go have a chance to win it all. hilarious.

i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow, hopefully feeling better than i do today. my back is tight and i could use more sleep.

until tomorrow kids...

one dreary Monday...

i'm not sure if i have seen the sun in the last 48 hours or so. today was just fucking dreary beyond belief.

i did do a little poetry work yesterday. i believe i know where my next 23 poems are going. i'd love to get that done sometime this week.

i did watch plenty of football yesterday. most of the results i liked, especially the ones in the Saints division.

America to Me was very good last night.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Camping was pretty good, although i can see why people would hate it.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

Shameless was fucking great last night. the last 10 minutes are exactly why i love this series.

Kidding was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

we got out of mom's doctor's appointment a little sooner than we expected. so, there's a Dollar Tree not far from where my physical therapy is. we were able to waste 30 minutes or so there before we left to my therapy. we only spent $11 at Dollar Tree, so that's not bad.

my physical therapy session was good. no drama like the week before. my therapist said if my back continues to get better this week, next week might be my last session. my back is definitely not as tight as it was the week before, so i'm trending in the right direction.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom's eye surgery. i think the surgery is supposed to only be a few minutes long. they are taking a laser to the scar tissue that has formed where her cataracts were. good times. one eye this week and the other eye next week.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

digging holes in the rain

i don't really like the fact that at 41 i can tell hours before it's going to rain by just how my back and left leg are feeling. nothing quite says you're getting old like arthritis stopping you in your tracks while simply trying to walk to the kitchen. good times.

the New York Yankees lost again yesterday 2-1 to Houston. they are down 2-0 now, which sucks given they could have easily won both games. Houston is a really good team, and they play the game the way you are supposed to. good defense, make contact, don't strikeout, take the extra base, etc. the Yankees are trying to hit the ball out of the park every time they come up to the plate. that's why they have 7 straight games with more than 10 strikeouts. it's so fucking frustrating to watch. and sadly, i did watch yesterday. Game 3 is Monday night back in the Bronx. the Yankees better hope they figure out a way to win that game.

the New York Rangers scored first last night. and for some fucking reason, that brought out the best in New Jersey. the Devils won 3-2 last night. as i wrote in the Rangers group i am in on Google+, they are either playing to get AV fired or they fucking suck at the moment. the sad answer is probably both. they next play on Tuesday at home against Pittsburgh. joy.

thankfully, Ohio State whipped Nebraska last night, 56-14. and honestly, it never felt that close. J.T. Barrett had 5 touchdowns passing and 2 more rushing last night. they are off next week, hopefully getting ready to find a way to beat Penn State in Columbus in two weeks.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan, The Deuce, Vice Principals, Curb Your Enthusiasm and White Famous.

the New Orleans Saints play at home this afternoon against Detroit. this should be an interesting test for the Saints defense today. hopefully they play well enough to get a victory.

i'll probably do a little poetry work as well today. i have a couple places in mind that i need to send poems to.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

the weekend

i didn't sleep well last night. it seems like my inner child has been throwing a fit since i got back from the doctor. at least the little fucker didn't mess with me when i was writing yesterday. i did write another 5 poems yesterday evening. i really like a few of them.

Vice News Tonight was excellent last night. i really think they had a great first week on the air.

NJPW was really good last night.

High Maintenance made me feel really old last night. next week is the season finale.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits and ROH.

Ohio State plays a huge game tonight at Wisconsin. Ohio State has won 19 straight true road games. hopefully they come home with number 20 tonight.

there are a few other college football games i'm going to try to watch today, mostly Alabama vs. Tennessee.

the New York Rangers play their first road game of the season tonight in St. Louis against the Blues. it won't be an easy game.

i have to do some running around this morning/early afternoon. i need to get some more ice packs and go to the grocery store to get pick up some prescriptions. and i probably should feed the birds today.

if i can find a spare moment this afternoon, i'm going to try to do a quick Soundcloud recording. if that doesn't happen this afternoon, i'll probably do it in the middle of the night.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

signs of winter...

i just got done folding my last load of laundry. my back is yelling at me for being the asshole who gets it all done in a day. i imagine i'll treat him to another night of mixing antibiotics with alcohol. good times.

i wrote another poem late last night and then typed up all 7 poems. i really like a few of them. i think i'll be submitting some poems again in the next few days.

i caught my damn fingernail today on something around my desk and holy shit... i damn near ripped the whole thing off. if it's not one thing with me it's the other.

NXT last night was really good. it's amazing to actually watch a good battle royal in 2015:

You're The Worst was excellent last night. American Horror Story: Hotel was fucking spooky and creepy as hell once again. easily, one of the best shows on television.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll put the links down in the music section.

the New York Rangers play in Montreal tonight. hopefully the boys can spoil their home opener.

the New Orleans Saints play Atlanta tonight at home. i don't know what to expect tonight. i'd love to see a win but i'm not getting my hopes up.

since there is nothing that the DVR will be recording tonight, i'll simply be flipping between hockey and football all night.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this afternoon. i highly recommend it.
you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com and on the right hand side of this blog.

i'm pretty sure i'm driving mom to her doctor's appointment tomorrow. she already told my sister we're not going to the hockey game tomorrow night. we're both sick and there's no point to go watch 2 teams that fucking suck (Columbus and Toronto) at the moment.

so i will probably be on here after we get home.

i had to turn the furnace on last night as it got down to the low 40's. of course, i have it set at 68, so i don't think it ever came on.

that's all for me kids. don't fret, the weekend is coming soon.

and in rolled the rain...

right as i was beginning to write this, the wind picked up and it started to rain. not what i was hoping for at all. this is always how it goes when there is corn to take off it seems. never fails.

where to begin... i had a conversation with one of the guys working on the barns out here. he said he was clearing some brush and came across the largest raccoon he has ever seen. that got me thinking that maybe that fucker is the one behind the cat deaths here lately. especially the 3 kittens that suddenly vanished. of course, if that raccoon gets too big, the coyotes will love to eat it. i tell ya, it's like a wild kingdom out here some days.

watched most of England's win over Poland today. was happy to see that Wayne Rooney scored the goal that sends them to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. i will be watching team USA play in Panama tonight. after i watch The Voice of course.

from what i saw last night, The Voice was good. i was surprised so many steals were used so early. hopefully tonight will be just as good or better.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. CM Punk was great once again and i love that the next match with Ryback will be in the Hell in a Cell. throw Heyman in there and it has the potential to be a classic. the tag team titles changing hands at the end of the show was perfect. ties in a few storylines and has the potential to go a few different directions. i really enjoyed the show.

i'm not surprised the New York Rangers are making some changes. better to do it now than wait until it is too late. plus, i always like when the young guys get a real chance to stick up with the big boys. hopefully Rick Nash gets better from his concussion soon. his goal scoring is going to be missed, not only on the Rangers but on my fantasy team as well.

i haven't left the house in 2 days other than to feed the animals. and i don't feel like i have really missed anything. i know it's a delicate line i'm walking between the recluse and functioning human. most days it's just a flip of a coin...

hopefully i will do some writing tonight over a victory beer.

until we meet again...
