this crazy world...

so, i heard from probably my first fan really of my poetry the other day. she and i lost track of each other over the years for one reason or another. so, you can imagine my surprise with a little trip down memory lane. hard to fucking believe she's a widow now and has cancer. sometimes tragedy bleeds through the page.

my ultrasound was a test of my pain tolerance today. i went 14 hours or so without any food or water. and this woman doing the test pressed down on my ribs as hard as she fucking could. i was holding my breath hoping i would quickly find the pleasure in the pain. thankfully, i showed up early and was done with the visit before the appointment was actually scheduled to start. good times.

Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-0 yesterday. that made me a very happy boy.

WWE Elimination Chamber was pretty good last night.

the Dayton Flyers women's team defeated VCU yesterday 52-48 to win the A10 Championship.

the season finale of The Outsider was fucking brilliant last night.

Avenue 5 was hilarious last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was great last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Axios was good last night.

Batwoman was very good last night.

Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night.

the season finale of Kidding was good last night.

Homeland was really good last night.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, the season finale of The New Pope, the finale of McMillion$ and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 281 of Notsam Wrestling this afternoon. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/elimination-chamber-the-real

watching the stock market tank today reminded of one of the good things about being poor. you never lose money like that.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know it's supposed to storm tonight, so i doubt i get anything resembling fucking sleep. joy.

until then kids...

certainly a night to remember...

the ceremony to honor the seniors last night before the Dayton Flyers game against George Washington was good. the first half of the game was not. Dayton was only up by 1 at halftime and honestly, had played like shit for most of the first half. and for about the first five minutes or so of the second half, it continued. all i could think about was the College GameDay curse has struck again. San Diego State lost and now Dayton is pissing away a chance to be a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. but, like this team has done so many times this year, they put together a run that was fucking amazing to watch. Dayton quickly turned a close game into a fucking blowout, defeating George Washington 76-51. good teams win, great teams cover. the team cut down the net after the game to celebrate going 18-0 in the A10. they won't have an easy road to win the conference tournament, but if they do so, they should get their highest seed EVER in the NCAA tournament. and i haven't even mentioned the fucking show Obi Toppin put on last night. i had a feeling, given that it was most likely his last game ever at UD Arena, he was going to make it a memorable one. 3 dunks in about 90 seconds in the second half did just that. dunked in a guy's face; gets a steal and does a 180 and then on the next possession, goes between his legs and dunks. the guys behind me, who must have been in their 20's, were losing their fucking minds. i'm so happy for this team. easily, the best Dayton team in my lifetime. i hope they go to Brooklyn and destroy everyone and keep this magical season going.

so when i got home, i found out the New York Rangers lost to the Devils, 6-4. i didn't bother to find the highlights.

The Shop was really good last night.

ROH was good last night.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Batwoman, the season finale of The Outsider, Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Last Week Tonight, Our Cartoon President, Homeland and the last two episodes of the season of Kidding.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday.

i do plan on watching WWE Elimination Chamber tonight. i'm hoping it will be better than what i'm expecting.

Manchester United plays at home today against Manchester City. i would love if the boys pulled off the double today.

the Dayton women's team plays VCU today in the A10 final. i'd love to see Dayton get that automatic bid to the women's NCAA tournament.

i might be on here tomorrow before i have to go get an ultrasound done. or, i might be on here afterwards. i can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight tonight and my appointment is at 2:30 in the afternoon. oh joy.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

just enough rain to have misery make the world go 'round...

it basically started raining last night around 4 in the morning, when i was trying to fall asleep. i woke up around 9 on my stomach, full of pain. joy.

Manchester United played at Everton yesterday. the game ended in a 1-1 draw. that's the story of this season. anytime United has had the chance to make up some room in the race for the top 4, they have declined to do so.

the New York Rangers lost again to Philadelphia yesterday, this time 5-3. they are in a brutal stretch of games at the moment, especially given the fucking injuries. but, if they actually want to make the playoffs, they need to get something out of these games to do so.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

and here are some MLS highlights from yesterday:

The Outsider was fucking great last night. the season finale is next week.

Avenue 5 was pretty good last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was magical last night. if you watched the show, you know exactly what i mean.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Axios was very good last night.

My Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

Homeland was really fucking good last night.

both episodes of Kidding were great last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

last night was the first night in weeks that i didn't sleep in my massage chair. i think i was simply too fucking exhausted to walk from my bedroom to the living room.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

welcome to March...

March is finally here. the month where college basketball takes over my life. and given the year the Dayton Flyers are having, i'm hoping this is going to be a March i will remember forever.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

ROH was good last night.

Saturday Night Live was very good last night.

i did watch some MLS last night. i will probably watch some today as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, The Outsider, Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Last Week Tonight, My Cartoon President, Homeland and two episodes of Kidding.

Manchester United plays here in a little bit at Everton. Chelsea dropped points yesterday, so i'm really hoping United is in the mood to be great today.

the New York Rangers play today at home against Philadelphia. i'd love to see the Rangers get something out of the game today. they are so close to being in a playoff spot now.

i'm sure i'll watch some XFL and college basketball today as well.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

a rainy trade deadline day...

it's the kind of rain that makes my arthritis jump in puddles like a 6 year old. it's pure fucking misery for me. so, i have spent most of today in my massage chair watching all the trade deadline coverage. i am pretty happy with what the New York Rangers did today. they signed Chris Kreider to a 7 year contract extension. they traded Brady Skjei to Carolina for a 1st round draft pick. that frees up money to pay the restricted free agents this summer. it also hopefully will open up a spot for a younger defenseman to come up and play. the only shitty news of the day was the car accident that Igor Shesterkin and Pavel Buchnevich got into last night. Igor has a non-displaced rib fracture and is out for at least two weeks. so, that's going to make the push for the playoffs a bit more tougher now.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

Batwoman was very good last night.

The Outsider was fucking fantastic last night.

Avenue 5 was pretty funny last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

My Cartoon President was very good last night.

Homeland was great last night.

both episodes of Kidding last night were excellent.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

the Dayton Flyers are now up to #4 in the polls. what a time to be fucking alive. they play tomorrow at George Mason.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning/early afternoon.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

been a busy boy here in the last 15 hours or so...

before i get to everything else, a little poetry news to pass along... i heard back from the folks at Chantarelle's Notebook on my poetry submission from earlier this month. they decided to pass on the 5 poems i sent. so, last night, i decided to figure out where my next batch of poems would be going. i sent out 13 poems earlier today; 3 to Red Eft Review and 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Heroin Love Songs v2.0. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the Dayton Flyers started off a little sluggish yesterday against Duquesne. for only the second time this season, they trailed at halftime. apparently, Coach Grant reamed their asses at halftime and the boys responded. Dayton won 80-70. and given that 3 of the top 4 teams lost yesterday, Dayton could be moving up to the top 4 teams in the country. what a time to be fucking alive. Obi Toppin scored 28 points in the game, which put him over 1,000 points in his career. he achieved that in just 60 games. Dayton plays on Tuesday night at George Mason.

the New York Rangers won last night over San Jose, 3-2. Igor Shesterkin made 44 saves for his 7th win in a row. not bad to win 9 of your first 10 starts in the NHL. suddenly, the Rangers are 4 points out of a playoff spot now, with 2 games in hand. the trade deadline is tomorrow. i have no damn clue if the Rangers are going to sell or buy.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, The Outsider, Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Last Week Tonight, Our Cartoon President, Homeland and two episodes of Kidding.

i got almost 5 hours of sleep last night. almost. i did get my laundry done last night as well.

Manchester United defeated Watford today, 3-0. Bruno, Martial and Greenwood got the goals. United are now three points out of 4th place in the league with 11 games to go.

i'll probably flip between sports today and try to get some more rest.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

a sleepy Monday...

i think i might have fallen asleep around 6 this morning. and i think i probably only got 3 hours of sleep. good times.

NXT Takeover: Portland was excellent last night.

i did watch a good portion of the NBA All-Star game last night. i loved how intense the 4th quarter was.

My Cartoon President was very funny last night.

Homeland was excellent last night.

both episodes of Kidding last night were very good.

Batwoman was really good last night.

The Outsider was fucking brilliant.

Avenue 5 was good last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious last night.

the New York Rangers lost to Boston yesterday, 3-1. the trade deadline is a week away. i'm expecting the Rangers to have a busy deadline day.

insert something witty here...

the birds are attacking the suet feeder in the front yard. and by attacking, i mean like the world is soon coming to an end. it's almost comical watching it.

these are the days where misery seems to bleed into every day and the endless loop is like a hamster on a wheel. i'm more likely to fall off than ever end the chase.

i suppose i need better sleep. i just shit for the first time in 2 days. i used to always joke with my mother that you start off in diapers and end up in diapers as well.

the sun is setting on my horizon. oblivion isn't far behind...

i did watch plenty of the NBA All-Star events last night. i really can't believe they robbed Aaron Gordon again in the dunk contest.

i loved that Buddy Hield won the 3 point shootout. that's the only thing Sacramento will win this season.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, My Cartoon President, Homeland, two episodes of Kidding, The Outsider, Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Last Week Tonight.

i'll be watching NXT Takeover: Portland for most of the evening on WWE Network.

i will be on here tomorrow hopefully before Manchester United plays Chelsea.

the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at UMass, 71-63. you could tell right from the start that Dayton wasn't taking the game as seriously as they needed to. thankfully, their talent is good enough to overcome questionable coaching and as usual with the A10, god fucking awful officiating. Dayton plays Tuesday night at VCU.

the New York Rangers play today at home against the Boston Bruins. i would be very surprised if the Rangers won today, but would love to see them upset the best team in the NHL.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

apparently, my bed and i are no longer on speaking terms...

i couldn't get comfortable and i don't think i slept for more than 45 minutes at a time last night in my bed. eventually, i just got an ice pack and went to my massage chair. i did that twice today and got a little over 4 hours of sleep doing that. so yeah, i guess that will be the routine for awhile now. joy.

we had some snow rip through here yesterday. it eventually turned to rain, about 1.5 inches of it. that could explain some of the misery.

the USWNT defeated Canada last night 3-0 to win the Olympic qualifying tournament.

i didn't watch much of the Academy Awards last night. i think my mother did, so she would tell me the winners when she would go from her room to the kitchen.

the series finale of Power was good. i will probably end up watching the 4 series that are coming out of it, starting this summer.

The Outsider was fucking great last night.

Avenue 5 was very funny last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious last night.

My Cartoon President was good last night.

Homeland was excellent last night.

both episodes of Kidding last night were brilliant.

the New York Rangers defeated the Kings last night, 4-1. they certainly have something in their rookie goalie, Igor Shesterkin.

i also watched some of both XFL games yesterday. i really like the different rules in the league. i hope week 2 is good as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The New Pope, McMillion$ and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

this has been one of these gloomy ass days, that's for sure. i don't think the sun even poked out of the clouds today. joy.

something like a Japanese game show but everyone was speaking Spanish...

i think if anyone has read this blog for any length of time, you know of my problems sleeping. last night was truly fucking bizarre. i was having this vivid dream that made no fucking sense. think of something like This Is Your Life meets Double Dare. around 5 in the morning, i opened my eyes and asked myself, what the fuck are you doing? i don't believe it was an acid flashback but it was certainly as close as i have experienced in the last 20 years. i eventually had to go get an ice pack and get in my massage chair so i could actually get something resembling sleep. good times.

the Dayton Flyers defeated Saint Louis yesterday, 71-65. the Flyers are now 21-2. they have a huge game at home on Tuesday against Rhode Island. if Dayton can win that, they would lead the entire A10 by two games.

i did watch a ton of college basketball yesterday.

i also watched a good amount of the XFL yesterday. it was better than i was expecting to be honest.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the series finale of Power, My Cartoon President, Homeland, two episodes of Kidding, The Outsider, Avenue 5 and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

i doubt i watch much of the Academy Awards tonight, mostly because i didn't really see any movies this past year.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against the Kings. i might watch some of that. hopefully, they will start off much better than they did in their last game.

oh goody, snow on the way...

first off, rest in peace Stan Lee. my life certainly wouldn't have been the same...

let's start with what Manchester United did against City yesterday. clearly, it wasn't enough or even close to being enough to compete with City. United lost 3-1. oh well.

the New Orleans Saints absolutely destroyed the Bengals yesterday, 51-14. that was a pleasure to watch. that's 8 wins in a row for the Saints.

Ray Donovan was really good last night.

the season finale of Kidding was fucking great last night. i can't wait for season 2.

Axios was excellent last night.

Camping was pretty funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

enjoy some music:

i did watch some of the MLS matches yesterday.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Vancouver. hopefully, they can keep on playing good.

i had to run out to the grocery store to get some things for mom this afternoon. the store was a little crazy, which i was expecting since there is snow on the way tonight. i think we're expected to get around a 1/2 inch or so.

i have no idea when i will be on here tomorrow.
