 my arthritis has been destroying me today. add on top of that an eruption last night from god knows what... this hasn't been one of those days i will long to remember when i'm old and begging for death. add on top of that, the guy who is supposed to do the demo of mom's bathroom showed up today. he's a really cool dude. but, he had no idea that the house was on a slab. so, he didn't do any demo today as he didn't have the stuff he needed. and he told us that this will not be a quick job, so that 3 day guarantee is gone already. and to add the cherry on top of this pile of shit, FedEx showed up this morning with another medicine cabinet mirror. i asked mom did she order two? she doesn't think so. i would certainly like to know the truth in all of this. if the company fucked up, good. if my mother mistakenly ordered two, i guess i get to be the asshole who takes the internet away from her. and then i get to heap on another pile of shit i have to do each and every day. joy.

i went to the bank today to make a deposit. i did that at halftime of the Manchester United vs. Barcelona game today in the Europa League. by the time i got to the bank the score was 1-1. by the time i got home from the bank, it was 2-2. i got to watch the last 10 minutes or so of the game. i wish United would have won, but i do feel confident they can beat Barcelona when they play at Old Trafford next week.

gambling didn't go as well as i was hoping for last night. hopefully, i will do better tonight.

i need to go get dinner going. i think we're doing burgers tonight with mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheese, etc. 

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think winter is supposed to be back here tomorrow. so, considering it is 56 degrees right now and they are saying it might snow tomorrow, i'm expecting plenty of crazy shit, as usual.

i might watch some of the USWNT tonight. i just remembered they are playing Canada.

the birds are attacking the suet feeder in the front yard. and by attacking, i mean like the world is soon coming to an end. it's almost comical watching it.

these are the days where misery seems to bleed into every day and the endless loop is like a hamster on a wheel. i'm more likely to fall off than ever end the chase.

i suppose i need better sleep. i just shit for the first time in 2 days. i used to always joke with my mother that you start off in diapers and end up in diapers as well.

i did watch plenty of the NBA All-Star events last night. i really can't believe they robbed Aaron Gordon again in the dunk contest.

the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at UMass, 71-63. you could tell right from the start that Dayton wasn't taking the game as seriously as they needed to. thankfully, their talent is good enough to overcome questionable coaching and as usual with the A10, god fucking awful officiating. Dayton plays Tuesday night at VCU.

the New York Rangers play today at home against the Boston Bruins. i would be very surprised if the Rangers won today, but would love to see them upset the best team in the NHL.

and then someone takes your breath away...

the grocery store was rather interesting today. i ran into some people i have known since i was a child. of course, it has been probably a decade or so since we last spoke. that happened about 3 minutes after i walked in the store. i was going around in my usual fog trying to get everything on the list. i had to go back to the side of the store i started off on as i had forgot something mom added to the list. i usually try to be a good guy when i'm out in public, always allow the women to go first, etc. help old black ladies out reaching shit, stuff like that. i ran into this amazing looking woman 3 different times in the store. each time we both kind of smiled and if i was a smooth motherfucker, i'm sure i would have said something funny. instead, this woman simply took my breath away. i managed to crack what i believe is a smile but what i saw from her was a casual smile that i read as get this fucking creep away from me. and here i thought cleaning up the beard and taking a shower was going to be beneficial for me.

i figure that is why i bought some cinnamon schnapps in the liquor store today. i told mom a shot of that and she'll sleep for the entire weekend. hopefully it would knock out her cold that she is still battling.

the New York Rangers ran into a goalie that owns them last night and lost to the Islanders 3-0. the Rangers had 50 shots on goal in the game. it was simply one of those nights.

i did watch team USA defeat Slovakia last night 2-1 at the Winter Olympics. that sets up a pretty big game tomorrow morning against Russia.

Vice News Tonight was very fascinating last night. the entire episode was basically people talking in different groups about the #MeToo movement.

Lip Sync Battle was fucking stupid last night.

the cough that won't go away

for some fucking reason, i can't seem to shake this cough i've had for almost 2 weeks now. it's truly fucking annoying the shit out of me. i forced myself to write last night. first time i've written anything in 13 days. 4 poems. i think they are pretty good. i suppose time will tell. i've been trying to sleep more, hoping that would give the white blood cells some time to get to work. apparently they are full of apathy as well. good times.

United next plays on Sunday in the FA Cup.

i know i need to go to the grocery store tomorrow. i will probably be on here after that i guess. my hopes of going to the basketball game this weekend has greatly diminished. i wanted this cough to be gone for at least a couple days before i went to sit with 13,000 people again.

surviving the cold on little sleep

i think what i have figured out in the first 20 or so days of my 39th year on this planet is i'm going to try to live the rest of my life in sweatpants. at least that's the thought for these winter nights where it gets below zero.

i got to watch most of what i wanted to see last night. i took a couple of naps along the way and it somehow worked.

i didn't watch much of the NBA All-Star game at all. judging from the highlights, i made the right decision.

the Saturday Night Live 40th reunion was fucking amazing. i put a ton of the videos on my Google+ page, but here is a couple of the moments i LOVED:

i could probably post a few more. if you're interested, go to my Google+ page, go to YouTube, go anywhere on the internet and you'll find something. given the age i am and my love of comedy, Saturday Night Live has meant a ton to me. and since i have lived a life that has had many a Saturday night home alone, i always could use a good laugh. it was amazing to see all the people they brought back last night. certainly a show i will remember for a long time.

after that was over, i put my plan into action to watch as much as i could stay awake for. after the late local news, i started off with House of Lies. great episode that had a very interesting ending. Episodes was pretty funny. Total Divas was really good. it certainly shed some light on a few things i didn't know. Last Week Tonight was great. here's a clip from that:

then the old man in me tapped out. that wasn't the plan but i woke back up in time to watch Shameless. what a fucking great episode. the acting this season has been spectacular. after that, i caught Girls (good episode) and Togetherness (which had me openly questioning if i am at a point in my life where i am incapable of actually having fun anymore). what a lovely thought to have at 6 in the morning. so, the only thing i have to watch tonight that i missed on Sunday will be The Jinx.

so, for my usual clusterfuck Monday, i'll go from the New York Rangers game with the Islanders to Gotham. after that will be The Jinx and then i'll either flip back to some hockey (if the Rangers are winning) or over to Monday Night Raw.

before all that, i'll be watching Manchester United later today in FA Cup action. i'm expecting them to struggle today since that is how they have been playing here lately. there are some injury concerns so i have no clue who is going to play today. i'm hoping i will be enjoying a victory beer later tonight.

it's starting to snow here. we are supposed to get a few inches. i'm expecting more since these fucks are never right about the weather anymore. but, i better get out there and feed the cats before it gets too bad.
