so, do you think the Medicaid cards came in the mail yesterday? do you think the mail was delivered at a time where i could actually get in touch with someone at Humana about those Medicaid cards? the obvious answer is no. by the time the mail came yesterday, the Saturday hours were over at Humana. there was no point to bitch and scream at mom, she had nothing to do with this. anyone that knows me, when i get really quiet, there is nothing but pure evil going through my head. now, i have to at least assume the cards will be in the mail on Monday. then, i need to get all that shit i have wanted to do for the last 4 fucking days done before i have my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. and the next shoe to drop... i have 1 pill left in my Rybelsus prescription. if the Medicaid cards don't show up, i need to come up with 3 grand to be able to get those pills. and they tell me death isn't a reasonable option at this point...
the Yankees won yesterday at home against the Brewers, 20-9. the Yankees hit 3 home runs on the first 3 pitches of the game. craziest fucking shit i have ever seen. Aaron Judge ended up hitting 3 of the team's 9 total home runs. he had 8 RBI in the game. they go for the sweep of the Brewers today.
the New York Rangers won last night at San Jose, 6-1.
i did watch some of March Madness last night.
AEW Collision was ok last night.
SNL was good last night.
i did watch the movie Queer last night. i am a huge fan of William S. Burroughs, so i was really looking forward to this movie. it didn't disappoint.

it has been raining all fucking day today. add in a little fog and plenty of arthritis, and you have the recipe for a day better spent in bed. it was not easy doing the grocery shopping today. between elderly drivers, people paying with checks and baggers who obviously wanted to be somewhere else... but, i got everything on the list. of course, when i got home, mom was asleep. so, i put everything away. she woke up about a hour later and had no clue i was even back home. good times.
the Dayton Flyers won at LaSalle last night, 66-54.

my mother asked me last night if i was happy. the first thing that came out of my mouth was about as much as i am allowed. this of course started a discussion that i didn't feel like having in the middle of a college football game. given my upbringing and all the shit that came with that, happiness is a relative term. i have ever truly been happy? probably not. do i believe happiness exists? i'm sure it does. she then asked why i'm not happy. and i basically told her, any time i got to a point where i should be happy, something or someone made damn sure to bring me back down. and my most obvious example of this was the first time i ever got paid for something i wrote. the first thing my mother asked me was if i had to use my real name? that infuriated me and still does to this very day. she wasn't happy or proud or anything like that, she was more concerned on what could possibly happen to her professional career if someone connected the dots. and people wonder why i'm fucked in the head. good times.
Ohio State whipped Western Kentucky yesterday, 63-10. that's more like it. they play at Notre Dame next week.

so, i finished clearing off the driveway today. i was smart about it at least. i went as far as my back would allow. now, if i was younger, i would have done it all yesterday. but, i know i'm not younger, so at least it got done.
ok, let me start off from where i left this blog yesterday.
Manchester United won yesterday at Nottingham Forest, 3-0. they basically are one more win away from actually playing for the League Cup trophy.
that was about where my joy ended yesterday.
the Dayton Flyers lost at Rhode Island, 75-70. once again, the dip in form that always comes in an Anthony Grant coached team (except for one damn season) is now back again.
the New York Rangers lost at Toronto in OT, 3-2. gave up another third period lead.
the USMNT lost to Serbia last night, 2-1, in a friendly. it was good to see some new faces playing. i'm just wondering who they are going to hire to be the coach.
AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.
Name That Tune was pretty good last night.

i need to vacuum the house sometime tonight and make dinner. i would have loved to do that earlier but mom took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. i didn't want to be the asshole to wake her up.

you could really tell a difference this morning with the humidity. it is always nice to not start sweating as soon as you open the door.
so, i'm sure some of you saw i sent some poems out last night. i actually wrote 3 poems last night before i did that. for some reason the song Slow an' Easy by Whitesnake popped into my head last night. i have vivid memories of that song playing at a high school party i was at. the party was at a state park. so, that memory got the ball rolling and pretty soon, i had 3 poems written.
the Yankees came from behind last night and defeated Tampa, 5-4. they start a series at home tonight against the Astros.
Colorado defeated the Lightning last night, 3-2 in OT. i love that Tampa is whining about Colorado having too many men on the ice when the winning goal was scored. hockey karma is a bitch. hopefully, Colorado will win Game 5 tomorrow night and win the Stanley Cup.
AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

so, the New York Rangers played a pretty good Game 6 last night and Carolina played like they have all playoffs on the road. they stunk. the Rangers won 5-2. that sets up Game 7 tomorrow night in Carolina. i'm really hoping the Rangers play their asses off in that game and find a way to win. the winner of Game 7 will host Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals.
there is a Game 7 tonight in the NBA. Boston at Miami, winner goes on to face Golden State in the final.
the Champions League final was pretty good yesterday. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool, 1-0. i always love when Liverpool loses.
i did watch a little of some MLS games yesterday:
the Yankees lost yesterday, 3-1. hopefully, they will win the series today down in that dump in Tampa.

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Ziwe, Gaslit, Barry and The Baby.
i didn't go up to Kroger yesterday as mom said the pills she needed weren't ready yet. apparently today, most of them are. so, i get to make a little trip when i get this done.
i do plan on watching some soccer today and most likely plenty of auto racing. i'm hoping Juan Pablo Montoya does well today in the Indy 500.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
as a sports fan, i do a pretty good job of staying in the moment. the task at hand, etc. i do my best to apply that to my life. and i am trying to get mom to do that as well. my belief is when her mind starts to wander off into the distance, her auto-pilot is drunk and asleep at the wheel. that would explain the falls, etc. just a theory but it makes sense, at least in my eyes.
i wrote 2 poems while mom was in physical therapy yesterday. i typed those up after we ate lunch. she wanted an Orange Cream shake from Arby's, so we just got lunch from there. i tried that new Wagyu beef sandwich they have. it was really good. the poems were really good as well. i'm hoping to get another handful of poems written this week so i'll have plenty to choose from for the next round of submissions.
the New York Yankees lost to Baltimore last night, 6-4. that is 3 losses in a row for the Yankees. hopefully, they will end that fucking streak tonight.

so, i finally had enough last night. tossing and turning in bed, i got up at 4:40 this morning and said fuck it. i went to the freezer and got an ice pack. i went out to the living room and got in my massage chair. i woke up there at a little after 8 this morning. i swear, it shouldn't be this hard to fucking sleep.
instead of opening the blog with another fucking Yankees loss, i'll start with the USMNT.
when the USA trailed Honduras, 1-0, at halftime yesterday, i was pissed. i didn't like the formation they were playing or the players they selected. thankfully, the coach realized some of his own fuck ups and made some changes right from the start of the second half. those subs made all the difference. plus, i really, REALLY want to fucking believe the USA has finally found their number 9. Ricardo Pepi made his debut last night and honestly, he had the game of his life. the USA won 4-1 and Pepi was involved in every one of the goals. when he scored the go ahead goal, i screamed Pepi at the top of my lungs. i believe my mother was just shaking her head, knowing her son is now insane. this puts the USA in 3rd place in World Cup qualifying and should (hopefully) set them up good for the next cycle of games in October.
now to the Yankees. when they tied the game last night at 3, on a home run by Brett Gardner, the last player on the Yankees that actually played with Derek Jeter, i was encouraged. silly me. the Blue Jays won last night, 6-3. they are no longer in first for the wildcard and will most likely get swept tonight. and that will lead into a weekend series at the Mets. if George was alive, i honestly believe Aaron Boone might be hanging from a tree at the moment.
AEW was excellent last night. if they are honestly going the direction of Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson, just take all my fucking money right now.
Big Brother was good last night. Claire will be voted out tonight. i can't wait until the houseguests find out tonight will be a double eviction.
American Horror Story: Double Feature was excellent last night.

i think i am going to try to get some poems out tomorrow. if i actually get that done, i should be on here after that. i do hope to have the blog done before my sister comes down tomorrow. i think she's spending the weekend here.
