so this is what sleep feels like...

i got my usual 4 hours of sleep last night. but, this time, i got it all at once. i didn't wake up every 45 minutes or so. amazingly, i actually felt refreshed waking up this morning. what a concept.

so, i lost 2 sweet sixteen teams yesterday. if that is all i lose and i get 14 of the 16 right, i will be happy. i doubt i will get that lucky today.

the Dayton Flyers lost yesterday at Chattanooga, 87-72. that ends the college careers of 5 players. who knows how many transfer out or in. i just know the team will look different next season.

the New York Rangers won yesterday at home over Vancouver, 5-3.

i did watch plenty of college basketball yesterday.

AEW Collision was ok last night. part 2 is on tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Americas, AEW Collision, The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Yellowjackets.

the USMNT plays tonight against Canada in the 3rd place game of the Concacaf Nations League.

i guess we might get some snow today. ah, spring in Ohio.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

with rain on the way...

i woke up this morning after yet another restless evening. i wasn't expecting to have 6 poems published this morning. i always joke, no one hates success as much as i do. i can feel the rain coming in my bones. this is going to be one of those days where i'll give the side eye to my 8 year old self and acknowledge, yes, i know, death would have been the better choice.

the New York Yankees won last night at Minnesota, 5-1. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

The Voice was a little surprising last night. i now have only 1 contestant in the finals.

NXT was really good last night.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 10th Anniversary Special was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, Abbott Elementary, The Masked Singer and NJPW.

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.

after i take mom to her doctors appointment, i will do the grocery shopping and go to the bank. i'll probably have to get gas as well.

Manchester United plays Newcastle this afternoon. i will hopefully miss the game.

one of those days where i wish i didn't have to wake up...

and it isn't that i get good sleep, it was just that i had finally fallen to sleep and then it was morning. i didn't feel refreshed but i'm sure i might have got a couple of hours of really deep sleep. and quite honestly, that is fucking rare for me anymore.

Manchester United won yesterday at Newport, 4-2, in the FA Cup. when it got tied up 2-2, i was fearing the worst. thankfully, that didn't happen.

i did watch both NFL playoff games yesterday. the Chiefs won at Baltimore, 17-10. the 49ers beat the Lions, 34-31. Detroit pissed away a 24-7 lead in that game.

Super Bowl will be February 11th in Las Vegas.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was really good last night.

Hightown was good last night.

The Woman in the Wall was very good last night.

True Detective Night Country was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

arthritis won the war today...

it has been raining all fucking day today. add in a little fog and plenty of arthritis, and you have the recipe for a day better spent in bed. it was not easy doing the grocery shopping today. between elderly drivers, people paying with checks and baggers who obviously wanted to be somewhere else... but, i got everything on the list. of course, when i got home, mom was asleep. so, i put everything away. she woke up about a hour later and had no clue i was even back home. good times.

the Dayton Flyers won at LaSalle last night, 66-54.

the New York Rangers pissed away a 2-0 lead last night and lost at San Jose, 3-2, in OT. that made for a lovely night of trying to sleep while pissed off.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

NXT was good last night.

Inside the NFL was very good last night.

Name That Tune was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and I Can See Your Voice.

i'm not sure what i am making for dinner tonight. i'm guessing i will probably make the stuffed mushrooms i got at the store. i have no clue what mom has ate today, so i will probably have to be ready to make something else as well.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon sometime.

what could have been

the Dayton Flyers were playing good yesterday. right before halftime, their starting point guard turned his ankle. when i saw him come out on crutches for the second half, i feared what was coming next. but, the rest of the players rallied and turned an 8 point lead at halftime into a 15 point lead. and then, it seemed like reality hit them. they ran out of steam, the coaching staff didn't help them at all, and eventually, they pissed away that 15 point lead and lost to Richmond, 68-64. now, i know damn well if Malachi Smith doesn't get injured, Dayton wins that game. and to watch Richmond celebrate like they actually believe they are better than Dayton was comical to watch. i truly hope Davidson beats the shit out of them today and the A10 will be a 1 bid league.

https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/dayton-loses-the-head-of-the-snake-and-fades-late-in-a-10-tournament-loss-to-richmond/HBHBYM6YYBECFJMVIFMWIR5Y4A/

before that debacle, i watched the Manchester United game against Tottenham. thank god for CR7. he scored a hat trick and United beat Tottenham 3-2. this was a game they desperately had to win. next up is another game they have to win on Tuesday in the Champions League.

when i turned the New York Rangers game on last night, they were losing to Dallas, 2-0. thankfully, it didn't stay that way. the Rangers won last night, 7-4.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

i did remember to change the clocks last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Billions, Super Pumped: The Battle for UBER, Last Week Tonight, Game Theory with Bomani Jones, Power Book IV: Force and Shining Vale.

mom wanted chicken wings last night. the only place around that has wings she likes is Pizza Hut. so, that was what we had for dinner last night. and i imagine the rest of the pizza and wings will be either lunch or dinner tonight.

this coming week is going to be crazy. mom has an appointment for either physical therapy or her skin cancer just about everyday this week. i have a doctor's appointment on Thursday. and of course, have to do the grocery shopping on Wednesday. so, i'm going to try to get the blog done tomorrow in the morning, before i have to take mom to physical therapy.

one of those days where i'm a little all over the place...

i found out last night that Gerald Locklin had died over the weekend. he was one of the poets i always admired, ever since i got into this racket in the 90's. i have a few of his books and we had chatted a couple of times over the years. he was my living link to Charles Bukowski in a sense. rest easy old friend, you will be missed and never forgotten.

https://www.presstelegram.com/2021/01/18/gerald-locklin-csulb-teacher-writer-poet-dies-at-79/

my grandmother would have been 109 today. i think she would have enjoyed the inauguration. i did watch some of it, mostly because i wanted to hear Amanda Gorman's poem. she didn't disappoint.

i did get some baseball cards today before i did all the grocery shopping. i bought a couple Fairfield boxes at the local Rite-Aid. i spent less than $10 on them. i did get a numbered hit in one of the boxes. all in all, i probably got close to $25 worth of cards. that put a smile on my face.

the grocery shopping went pretty good today. i'm fucking tired of seeing these assholes with no masks on in the stores. especially this fucking woman today with an infant with her. and i'm the asshole because i hope they catch this shit and die.

the New York Rangers lost last night to the Devils, 4-3. the Rangers had 50 shots on goal. so, it was one of those games where the goalie stole it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, The Masked Dancer and Name That Tune.

the Dayton Flyers were supposed to play tonight but their game against George Washington got postponed because GW's coach has COVID. i'm really fucking hoping that Dayton's coach doesn't get it since their last game was against GW.

i did get home in time to watch the Manchester United game against Fulham today. United did what they always do on the road. give up the first goal and then find a way to win. goals from Cavani and Pogba and United won 2-1.

i turn 45 tomorrow. i have no clue what will be in store for me tomorrow. i know i need to get my driver's license renewed, but that's going to wait until it gets a little warmer. i have until July to get it done. i know i have to take mom to her foot doctor tomorrow. i have no clue if we're going out to eat after that or not. i know i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon most likely.

the day today started off with some snow. it actually felt like winter for a few hours.

the day after...

so, the Biden victory got certified last night/early this morning. i'm not sure why people are saying Trump conceded. all he said was i don't agree, there will be a peaceful transition, the facts will prove me right, the FIGHT to make America great again is just beginning... how in the fuck is that a concession? i'm not sure why they are still wondering if they should invoke the 25th amendment... i would love to see the fucker get impeached again... that way he could never run for president again... since we all know that deranged fucker is going to pull this shit again 4 years from now. as i told my mother this morning, he's going to hold the world hostage for the next 2 weeks or until he gets the $400 million he owes the Russians and can avoid getting what any fucker that owes that kind of money to the mafia deserves. good times.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW had an ending for the ages last night.

The Masked Dancer was pretty good last night.

i almost all the songs right on Name That Tune last night. mom was a little stunned.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Total Bellas and Cari & Jemele Won't Stick to Sports. i watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was excellent.

i saw this morning that 4 people died in the failed coup yesterday. i wish it was more.

i will probably have to go pick up my pills tomorrow in the afternoon. i will most likely be on here sometime after that. i do plan on having the blog out before Dayton plays at Davidson tomorrow night.

i got the coffee i ordered from Youngstown Coffee Co. today. i'm really hoping the coffee is good as i would love to have some different options of Highlander Grogg to be able to taste. that is pretty much the only coffee mom likes anymore. i did get The Dude's Roast as well. i think i will be trying that this weekend most likely.

that's all for me kids. i have a bad back to ice down and a morning paper to finally read.

i feel like i have been on this damn computer all day long.

one of those days where i wish i would have killed myself years ago...

i'm 43 years old. i first thought of suicide at age 8. now imagine 35 years of wondering about what if... i absolutely fucking hate having my time wasted. getting to a doctor's appointment early and having to wait and then wait some more and then wait even longer to be told, hey, just keep on doing what you're doing and if you still feel good in 2 months, you don't have to worry about a follow up. and then go to the grocery store, for the second time in the same day, to pick up a prescription that wasn't ready when you were doing your grocery shopping... there's another 30 minutes of my life i won't get back. a line 10 deep because the store only has two people working the registers in the pharmacy. brilliant. ah, that's right, if they work more than 29 hours, they get health insurance... i remember now. the kicker to today was i had to take off my ear rings for the new x-rays. i was having problems with the one in my right ear (i switched to posts as my hoops died after 20 years) and sure enough, the post was up in the hole. i couldn't get it and it freaked the nurse out so much she thought she was going to puke. thankfully, mom was able to get it out when i got home. hopefully, Santa brings some new fucking ear rings this year.

and yet another bitch of mine, i figured out why i have to ask for a refill every month on my gabapentin. apparently, the state of Ohio doesn't allow any refills on it because most meth abusers are on it as well. so, apparently, i need to get to cooking in the backyard i guess. my A1C is now 7.7, which is basically i should be losing a body part now. the APRN finally realized i need to be put back on the drug i was taken off of, like i had been asking her for six months now. nice to know i have to drive myself to near death to get my way. so, hopefully soon my A1C will get back to "normal" numbers.

fuck, i am so fucking tired of this shit anymore. i did go to the bank again today as my health care provider sent me back the payment i sent in twice. i just love when they send me a bill online and then send me a bill in the mail two weeks later, fucking assholes.

as you might imagine, i'm in a pissy mood.

NXT UK was pretty good last night.

i watched a ton of basketball and hockey last night. i was hoping to get some decent sleep, but of course, that never fucking happens. i had some weird ass dreams about lovers from my past that made no fucking sense at all. joy.

i did manage to get all the grocery shopping done before 1 PM today.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network. i believe 205 Live for the next two weeks are going to be best of shows.

the New York Rangers are playing tonight at home against Toronto. it's currently 2-2 in the first period. hopefully, the Rangers will find a way to win tonight. i need some fucking alcohol.

mom wants to go out shopping tomorrow morning, so i should be on here after that. i know at some point tomorrow, i need to start wrapping gifts. i wrap all the gifts in newspaper, that way all of it can be fucking recycled afterwards.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. best of luck with your last minute shopping.

supposedly, winter will be here soon...

it was near 50 degrees when i took mom to her doctor's appointment today. they are saying tomorrow will be around 30 and maybe some snow. i'll believe that when i see it.

the doctor's appointment went well, i guess. mom got the results for her MRI. it showed that her back is slightly worse. i told her no matter how the insurance company tries to spin it, slightly worse is still worse no matter what. the doctor ordered some physical therapy for her. i thought she should be doing that all the while she was getting the injections. i'm hoping the physical therapy helps her. at the very least, if she does it twice a week, that's twice a week for me to be in a waiting room writing poems.

speaking of poems, i heard from Mark at Otoliths on my poetry submission from before Christmas. he decided to pass on the poems. well, got my first rejection of 2019 out of the way.

Monday Night Raw was okay last night. i really enjoyed the beginning and the end. as for the middle of the show, thank god the football game was on.

i was a little surprised that Clemson beat the living shit out of Alabama last night. i thought Clemson definitely had a chance to win the game, but i don't think anyone saw a blowout coming. Clemson won 44-16.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Smackdown.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Las Vegas. i fully expect the Rangers to lose tonight. i'm hoping the opposite now will happen since i have put that into the universe, though i doubt it.

hopefully, i avoid all of the asshole that runs this country and his lies tonight on television.

i stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up mom's prescriptions. thankfully, everything was ready. i didn't want to come out tomorrow in case it is actually bad.

the trash is all picked up. i'm hoping it doesn't blow away this evening with all this wind.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. if all goes well, the first poems submitted of 2019 will take place in the morning.

have a good one kids.

a gloomy day with the elderly... oh joy

well, my mother is now officially old. i took her out to lunch and to do some shopping today and it was the first time that i actually thought of her as an old woman. having problems with her cane, her sight, her back, moving slower than normal, etc. i feel bad for her. she's always bent over backwards for everyone in her life, except for herself. let that be a lesson for everyone. nice people do really finish last. they get fucked over and fucked over again. i think part of her depression today was from her disability benefits getting cut yesterday. i believe we have to do our depositions sometime in December. i bet the insurance company isn't going to like the fact i have a spot on memory for bullshit.

it probably didn't help things that the grocery store today was a fucking zoo.

so i got home just in time to watch the USA men's national team lose a soccer friendly to Italy 1-0. Italy scored in the 94th minute. that closes out 2018 for the team. hopefully, they will hire a fucking coach soon.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who is going home tonight.

Monday Night Raw was good, but not good enough last night. i flipped over to the football game a ton during the show.

the NFL game last night between the Chiefs and Rams was fucking crazy. the Rams won 54-51 in the highest scoring Monday Night Football game in history.

the New York Rangers won last night over Dallas, 2-1. i really love how this team is playing at home. 6 straight home wins.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice and The Jim Jefferies Show.

the New York Yankees made a trade yesterday. i think it will help them next season, as long as James Paxton can stay healthy. now, they just need to get one more legit good starter and they should have a much better rotation next season.

i have to send out some poems tomorrow and do some cleaning as well. i will hopefully get that done in the morning and then be on here long before Dayton takes on Butler down in the Bahamas tomorrow night. i believe my sister is coming down tomorrow as well. aren't i blessed...

the trash is already done, so that's all for me kids...

sometimes, you have to admit failure...

i got into a fascinating conversation with the muse last night and we started talking about politics. many of you know i hate the politics in this country. but, she said something that kind of hit me. if i really want to see things change in this country, i'm not exactly going about it in a way that can do anything. so, i decided to fuck it and i registered to vote. now, i'll be interested to see if the county actually accepts it. if they do, i'm planning on doing an absentee ballot as i know i would probably kill a motherfucker or two if i actually went to vote. i live in a very, very Republican part of this county. the level of ignorance in this town is fucking amazing. it doesn't shock me that i have lived here since 1997 and i rarely talk to anyone. so, as i told my mother last night, the goal will be to fuck up the system from within.

the muse and i have been trading songs back and forth today. i think we could probably talk for days on end about music and never get bored of each other. hell, maybe one of these days that will actually happen.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday at Boston, 10-2. it was basically a spring training game. the Yankees will host Oakland Wednesday night in the wild card game. the winner will play in the division series against Boston. it's finally time for the playoffs.

the New Orleans Saints won 33-18 against the New York Giants yesterday. it was pretty close until Alvin Kamara took over the game in the second half. the Saints play next week at home against Washington.

The Deuce was really good last night.

Ballers was good last night. that season finale is next week.

the season finale of Insecure was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

the 100th episode of Shameless was really good last night.

Kidding was dark and excellent once again last night.

America to Me was really, really good last night. it certainly brought back some memories of when i was the only white kid on the basketball team in junior high.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. i'm hoping to be done with that by the time Manchester United plays in the Champions League tomorrow.

i'm not really looking forward to the doctor's appointment. i know they need to check my numbers for my Type 2 Diabetes and my cholesterol, plus i need a flu shot and my prescriptions refilled. and then there's the laundry list of needing a scan on my left leg to see how much of it is dead. i need a back x-ray to see what the fuck is going on in the middle of my back. if that is as bad as my lower back, i'm fucked. and i'd love to find out what this is on the right side of my stomach. it's internal, so i'm guessing it's nothing good.

and then at some point this week i need to go to the bank, get a haircut, and i need to take mom to the grocery store to bitch out the pharmacist for fucking up her billing. on top of all that, the landscaper is going to start that project this Wednesday i believe.

there's never a dull fucking moment when you're crazy. never forget that kids.

i'm hoping to talk the muse into a plan to take over the world one day. if she says yes, this world will never be the same.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. hard to fucking believe it's already October.
