my mom asked me last night if i thought she was going to die before spring? how the fuck do i answer that? i replied to her, what do you want to hear? i know why she is depressed. it is coming up on the 23rd anniversary of her second husband's death. she has never stopped grieving that. i never expect her to as i know there is no time table for the grieving process. i also know she is in pain and nothing is working to help her really. what pisses me off is she won't ask for help until she absolutely needs it. and then, will get mad at me for helping her because apparently i don't do it the way she wants me to. i'm trying to keep my cool and remain calm, but i know how i have no patience for this kind of shit. this is where i have to just give her as much space as possible and hope she comes to her fucking senses at some point and just lets me do this shit. it is painfully obvious that this world has past her by now.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
as i explained to my mother last night about sports karma, i told her since Manchester United got a win they probably didn't deserve, the games tonight are going to be a punch in the dick. sure enough.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home to the Penguins, who were missing their two best players, Crosby and Malkin. the Rangers lost, 3-2. well, they play tonight at Columbus. i won't be shocked if they fucking lose tonight as well. and if they do, it will be time to blow up the team and be sellers at the trade deadline.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at home to VCU, 73-68. you can't have more turnovers than assists in a game and win. and the sad thing is, Dayton was winning in the second half. yet another piss poor coaching job... they will have to win the A10 tournament now if they want to make the NCAA tournament.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
today has been one of those days where, as a poet, you try to ride the fucking wave as long as you can. you have lived long enough to know you are going to fall off, but it's how you climb back on the board that matters.
i started this day of with 15 poems getting rejected. oh joy. The Poetry Jukebox sent back my submission saying they weren't taking submissions at this time. it would have been helpful if they would have said that on their website, instead they want to assume that everyone has Twitter. Academy Of The Heart And Mind rejected the 5 i sent them. but, they did confirm to me that the poem of mine they still haven't published (they originally told me it was going to be published in late January) will be published April 8th. so, i have that to look forward to.
i wrote 10 poems today while mom was having her physical therapy. i'll type those 10 up sometime tonight. that gives me 110 poems for the month. not bad, unless they all get rejected.
the New York Rangers lost in OT last night to Tampa Bay, 4-3.
the season finale of The Masked Singer was great last night. i wanted The Bee to win, but she finished 3rd. i was happy that The Monster won in the end. and i had all 3 finalists correct.
NXT was excellent last night.
Drop The Mic was pretty good last night.
You're The Worst was really good last night.

i will be on here in the morning tomorrow. i'll probably have a couple blogs done before i go to the grocery store tomorrow.

i got into a fascinating conversation with the muse last night and we started talking about politics. many of you know i hate the politics in this country. but, she said something that kind of hit me. if i really want to see things change in this country, i'm not exactly going about it in a way that can do anything. so, i decided to fuck it and i registered to vote. now, i'll be interested to see if the county actually accepts it. if they do, i'm planning on doing an absentee ballot as i know i would probably kill a motherfucker or two if i actually went to vote. i live in a very, very Republican part of this county. the level of ignorance in this town is fucking amazing. it doesn't shock me that i have lived here since 1997 and i rarely talk to anyone. so, as i told my mother last night, the goal will be to fuck up the system from within.
the muse and i have been trading songs back and forth today. i think we could probably talk for days on end about music and never get bored of each other. hell, maybe one of these days that will actually happen.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday at Boston, 10-2. it was basically a spring training game. the Yankees will host Oakland Wednesday night in the wild card game. the winner will play in the division series against Boston. it's finally time for the playoffs.
the New Orleans Saints won 33-18 against the New York Giants yesterday. it was pretty close until Alvin Kamara took over the game in the second half. the Saints play next week at home against Washington.
The Deuce was really good last night.
Ballers was good last night. that season finale is next week.
the season finale of Insecure was excellent last night.
Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.
the 100th episode of Shameless was really good last night.
Kidding was dark and excellent once again last night.
America to Me was really, really good last night. it certainly brought back some memories of when i was the only white kid on the basketball team in junior high.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. i'm hoping to be done with that by the time Manchester United plays in the Champions League tomorrow.
i'm not really looking forward to the doctor's appointment. i know they need to check my numbers for my Type 2 Diabetes and my cholesterol, plus i need a flu shot and my prescriptions refilled. and then there's the laundry list of needing a scan on my left leg to see how much of it is dead. i need a back x-ray to see what the fuck is going on in the middle of my back. if that is as bad as my lower back, i'm fucked. and i'd love to find out what this is on the right side of my stomach. it's internal, so i'm guessing it's nothing good.
and then at some point this week i need to go to the bank, get a haircut, and i need to take mom to the grocery store to bitch out the pharmacist for fucking up her billing. on top of all that, the landscaper is going to start that project this Wednesday i believe.
there's never a dull fucking moment when you're crazy. never forget that kids.
i'm hoping to talk the muse into a plan to take over the world one day. if she says yes, this world will never be the same.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. hard to fucking believe it's already October.

so i got in the shower late last night and decided to basically hurt myself. i scrubbed my skin hard enough that i knew any dead skin would be off. then, a little soap and very hot water... so, that's what a cleansing feels like. there's something brewing in me. i'm not sure if it's another book, the fucking movie i have been twiddling my thumbs about since i was 23... there's a creative fire that refuses to go out at the moment. it's like California is now inside me. these are the days where i simply just try to ride the fucking waves.
i got into a bit of a mood last night and sent out a ton of messages, hoping to do a better job of promoting my book. of course, i got a few replies this morning, all at once. it never fails.
the New York Yankees lost last night to the fucking Mets 8-5. for some damn reason, they just can't get over 30 games over .500. they are now 10 games behind in the division. oh well. they start a series tonight at home against Tampa.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i thought they did a good job setting up SummerSlam this Sunday. and i love that Dean Ambrose is back.
part 3 of Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story was infuriating last night. it shouldn't surprise me, but the amount of racism in this country is fucking disgusting. and as much as i hope for every generation to come along and be better, they aren't. it's fucking sad.

i have to take mom to her eye doctor this afternoon. of course, she just told me that the eye doctor is no longer covered by her insurance for her eyes. i'm not real sure why she's going to see him today other than her vision is fucking atrocious at the moment. i do plan on bringing my notebook with me. hopefully, i write a few poems. that's part of the reason i did the blog this morning. if i do write some poems, i'll need the afternoon to type.

i certainly wasn't expecting Manchester United to come out and destroy West Brom today and win like 5-0 or something. i was expecting United to find a way to fucking win though. silly me. to watch United lose 1-0 to the team at the bottom of the league, a team that had won 1 of their last 31 fucking games, and in the process give Manchester City the Premier League title was... i don't know if i have the fucking words for how fucking angry i am right now. it's raining cats and dogs here, my arthritis is raging and all i want to do is drive fists through walls or come up with enough money to give United a fucking heart that exists each fucking week. i'm not even going to bother with any of the post game shit. it's all excuses anymore. not exactly how i wanted to start off this fucking day.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees have already had game 1 of their doubleheader today at Detroit postponed by the rain. game 2 is supposed to be tonight. i doubt that happens either.
Elvis Presley: The Searcher was really good last night. i think i know more about Elvis than i ever wanted to.
Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.
ROH was excellent last night.

i will probably do some writing today and maybe flip between the NHL and NBA playoffs.
i'm really hoping the rain tonight doesn't change over to snow. i'm sick of this fucking shit.
last night was the first night in over a week that i was able to sleep for more than 3 hours straight. i think i almost have this cold beat. if i could get one good night of sleep i might be able to defeat it. i think i have found the right mix of over the counter shit to kill this thing. of course, when i'm at the grocery store tomorrow around a bunch of coughing motherfuckers, i'll really know if i have beat this or not.
The X-Files was excellent last night. this season so far is so much better than the previous season.
the season finale of Total Divas was pretty good last night.
NXT was pretty good as well last night.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Toronto. i'm sort of torn. i'm afraid if they actually start winning, management won't blow up the team like they should. either way, i would like a drink tonight.
i guess winter is supposed to be back for the next few days. the fear mongers on tv are saying there will be some snow showers, wind, lows down to 11, etc. the next few days. i know something is coming. my arthritis has been fucking with me all day long.

when i turned the Dayton Flyers on last night, the game was about 5 minutes old and Saint Louis still hadn't scored. that told me everything i needed to know. i love when a team takes no prisoners and refuses to play down to its competition. Dayton won last night, 85-63. honestly, the game never felt that close. the senior class set the record for most wins and i feel pretty confident that they are nowhere close to being finished this season. most encouraging for me is that Dayton is much closer to being 100% healthy again. music to my ears. they play again this Saturday at home. hopefully this fucking cough will be gone by then.
Smackdown was really good last night. i loved the triple threat match between Bray Wyatt, John Cena and AJ Styles. having Bray win and keep the title should prove that he belongs in that conversation.
205 Live was really good as well last night. i can't wait for Austin Aries to start wrestling again.
Taboo was great last night, as usual. amazingly, the show keeps getting darker. it's slowly filling my Penny Dreadful void.

there's a chance for snow this evening. hopefully i'm drugged into a coma and miss it.
Smackdown was excellent last night. i think they set up their Elimination Chamber ppv this Sunday rather nicely.
205 Live was great as well. i think i'm certainly going to enjoy Jack Gallagher vs. Neville in a few weeks.
Taboo was fucking dark as hell again last night. i think i had just enough NyQuil and rum in me that it started to make sense.
The Dayton Flyers did exactly what i thought they would do last night. Saint Joseph's was shorthanded with 3 starters missing. so, of course, Dayton thought the game was going to be easy and played down to its competition. thankfully, they changed things around in the second half and avoided that landmine. Dayton won 77-70.
the New York Rangers won last night 4-1. The King stopped 43 of 44 shots. i still have a victory beer coming to me.

the New York Yankees salvaged the 3rd game of the series with San Diego by winning 6-3 yesterday. Mark Teixeira hit the 400th and 401st home runs of his career in the game. they play today in Chicago against the White Sox.
Ray Donovan was excellent last night. it's good to see Lisa Bonet back on television. that reminds me of many dirty dreams in my youth.
Roadies was really good last night.
Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i laughed really hard when the one side of the house figured out they were lied to. have any of you dumb fucks actually watched this show before?

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i figure i'll probably watch the hot dog eating contest at some point today as well.
i just saw that Kevin Durant is going to sign with Golden State. if you can't beat them, join them. hopefully everyone gives him the same amount of shit people gave LeBron for leaving Cleveland to go win in Miami.
Euro 2016 Update:
France beat Iceland yesterday 5-2. France started off on fire, something they hadn't done all tournament. they were up 4-0 at halftime. i'll give Iceland credit for at least making the second half watchable. they will go home and be heroes forever now. so the semifinals are set. Wales vs. Portugal and Germany vs. France. 2 games that should be very interesting.
it looks like my new chapbook is getting closer to completion. i can't wait to share the news with all of you. it's with a publisher i've always wanted to work with.

after a few deep breaths, i look back and suppose this is the price we Manchester United fans are having to pay for all the years of glory. today's game ran the entire chart of emotions. happy to see old faces, utterly disappointed to be losing to a team at the bottle of the table, to the utter disgust that the lead was over a hour long, to jubilation when RVP scored, to pure elation when Carrick scores seconds later, to the bottom of hell when Fulham gets a goal in "Fergie" time. 2-2 against that team is beyond unacceptable. i shutter to think what Wednesday is going to look like at Arsenal. if i had a white flag, i'd be waving. i can't see any chance of ending up in 4th place now. the only way United plays in the Champions League next year is by winning it this year. and honestly, the only manager capable of pulling that off this year is sitting in the stands.
the pain will be a bit sharper the rest of the day, i can guarantee that.
i didn't sleep well at all last night. we had a cold front moving through and it was killing my body all night long. i tried to stay up to watch ROH but fell asleep in the middle of it. thankfully, wrestling fans post results to everything on the internet, so at least i know what i missed.
the Dayton Flyers surprised me yesterday with an unlikely win at St. Bonaventure, 72-69. especially when they were trailing by 5 with 4 minutes left or so. that's when i looked over at my mom and said they've got 'em right where they want 'em. when Dayton won, i kept telling her over and over, i told you, i told you... that was a nice victory beer.
not sure how i'm going to manage my Sunday viewing schedule tonight. i want to watch that Beatles special but that means all my regular Sunday shows are going to be shuffled back into the middle of the night. not that i won't be up or anything, i'm simply trying to plan which shows am i going to fall asleep in the middle of. hopefully, if we do end up moving, we get that DIRECTV whole home DVR. that would solve these god damn dilemmas. that being said, there's no fucking way i'm falling asleep during True Detective. i LOVE that show.
i suppose i should go eat lunch as i have pills to take. this is the downside of being a sports fanatic. the lows can get really fucking low, especially when you have a neck and left arm that is killing you slowly. i swear my left thumb is permanently numb. haven't had any damn feeling in it for 2 fucking weeks now. i imagine that will be a poem somewhere down the line.
and speaking of poems, i didn't do the 15 poems like i should have done last night. instead, as the pain was torturing me, i did a little shopping at amazon.com. i decided i was going to buy music from artists i have never bought before. i'm looking forward to hopefully finding some new bands to obsess over. i feel sorry for the fucker that has to fill the order though. i think i hit nearly every genre there is. and thanks to Christmas and my birthday, it didn't cost me a thing.
see all the good shit you have ruined this weekend in my life David Moyes.
i fed the cats this morning in the snow. that wasn't fun. the cats weren't exactly thrilled to see the snow either. i believe we have crossed the 40 inches of snow this winter. we still have a fucking month of this shit to go. hopefully it all melts slowly into the ground and the crops are wonderful this summer because of it. that's really the only good i can make out of this miserable fucking winter.
that's it. i need to eat. enough of my rambling for today. i hope everyone is well. you are surely better off than me.
peace and chicken grease.

so today is about 5 degrees hotter than yesterday. and for Sept. 10th to be at 95 degrees, i believe i am somewhere close to hell. the headline in the paper today said the area is close to being back at the drought level. so much for the great harvest i thought we were going to have to rebound from last year.
the Yankees lost last night. i watched a little. but, like the team, i think this season has run out of steam. of course, go on a 10 game winning streak and i will think they are going to the World Series. needless to say, i'll watch a little bit tonight because i've been a fan since 1982. but, much like my youth, i doubt i will have any fun watching them.
had a very frustrating night last night. the fantasy football game i was trailing by 10 i won by 16. the one i had a 33 point lead in i lost by 3.14 points. so, i spent the next 2 hours beating myself up for not playing the TE that got more points and for drafting a RB that did absolutely nothing in week 1. if either of those would have changed not only would i have won, i would have had the most points in the league. of course, come tomorrow i'll be over it as it will be time to focus on week 2.
but to better describe this sickness, i'm currently running on 3 hours of sleep.
most of my attention this evening will be on team USA vs. Mexico in World Cup Qualifying. if the USA wins tonight and gets some help from Honduras, they will clinch a trip to Brazil for the World Cup. i will be in full throat this evening. i need to release some frustration. hopefully that happens this evening.
with it being so damn hot, i've spent most of today inside listening to music. and i managed to get a certain song stuck in my damn head, not that i'm complaining about it...

anyone that knows me knows just how much i hate losing. i'm the most competitive person i know and quite frankly, it's disgusting. so, knowing the Yankees are in the midst of a 5 game losing streak with the fucking Red Sox coming to town, is driving me nuts.
the Yankees last night once again made the Mets look like a competent baseball team in a 3-1 loss. some of the injured players are supposed to come back tonight. i'm not even sure if that would help this team right now. who knows if they have found rock bottom or not. if they haven't, this has the makings of a long fucking season.
and the other losing streak on my mind is my own. i heard back from Nerve Cowboy today on my poetry submission from back in February. they have decided to pass. this of course is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. but for a poet who tends to over analyze everything... that's 2 major submissions in the past week that have come up blank. not good. but, now i really have some poems to go through and send out soon. my apologies in advance to the editors and publishers that follow this blog.
so, you can imagine the great mood i'm in. thankfully, got a little money in the mail today for Sofisticated White Trash, so that is what i'm focusing on. or at least trying to.
the weather is supposed to get a little hectic here in a bit. scattered thunderstorms today and a 40% chance of a possible tornado tomorrow. just what i need. more shit to drive me more crazy than i already am.
i did watch a good bit of the LeBron James show last night, otherwise known as the Eastern Conference Finals. i laugh at all these fucking idiots who won't take the time to understand that it's much better to enjoy watching one of the best players ever, especially by the time he is done, than constantly shitting on him because he doesn't fit YOUR mold of great. and yes, i know, he won't be Michael Jordan. no one will. but, there will never be another LeBron James either.
just had a knock on the door from Fed Ex. and instantly my mind races to one of my big porn fantasies. of course it was a guy. it never fails. where are all the female drivers who have no more deliveries to make and a dirtier mind than mine?
hope everyone has a great and safe weekend. i'm really hoping i have no damage to report over the weekend here on the farm. but i have this knot in my stomach telling me that i might be way fucking closer to a tornado this weekend than i really want to be. and of course, my sick ass will try to get some pictures or videos if something does happen.

been back home for a few hours now. thought i would compose my thoughts before i would blog about the game i went to today and rant like a motherfucker.
shitty officiating, but that was for both teams. Dayton missed way too many fucking free throws for as many as they took. neither team quite frankly deserved to win the game. but, when you are up by 10 with 5 minutes to go you should never, ever, ever fucking lose at home by 1. especially when the officials give you every chance to win the game and your 5th year senior can't make at least 1 of the 2 biggest free throws of his life. these are the games i hate as i will spend the next few hours thinking and replaying the damn thing in my mind.
after the game, went to my favorite sports bar and had a few drinks and some bad for you food to just unwind. a bit at least. i did get some enjoyment when i saw that Manchester City lost today. now, if Manchester United can win tomorrow the lead will be 12 points and i will absolutely think everyone else in the Premier League is playing for second place.
mother nature is putting a huge wrinkle in my fantasy sports. thankfully i don't have too many guys on the teams that have had their games postponed. hopefully the New York Rangers game will go on tomorrow night as planned. the team they are playing, Tampa Bay, is coming from Boston. i bet that will be a fun trip.
a busy Sunday as i will somehow squeeze in Manchester United, the New York Rangers, The Grammys, Girls, Shameless, House of Lies and Californication while trying to get some sleep as well.
as for tonight, i might as well just write as i don't have much interest in watching that ass clown host Saturday Night Live. might have to flip between Austin City Limits and ROH until i just give up and fall asleep.
so much for a day at 12:45 PM i thought was going to be nice, sunny, fuck, even serene. welcome back to reality asshole.

saw my mother and sister off on their vacation this morning. i'm really hoping my mother treats it as a vacation. doesn't take any phone calls from work, doesn't check her emails, just gets the fuck away for a week or so. she really needs it.
so in my first hours of home alone, i managed to get my laundry done. yep, i'm at the age now where life is boring. i'm hoping to maybe get a haircut and get some painting done in the next week. other than that, read the paper, get the mail, and manage to not burn the place down.
ordered a few new CD's from amazon.com today. hopefully they will be here in less than a week.
