i took a shower last night, trying to relax after a very frustrating Rangers loss. what the shower actually did was focus my anger. so, of course, i didn't sleep much at all last night. i might have got 3 hours in my massage chair. thank god i drink strong ass coffee. i'm beyond frustrated right now, between sports, my Trulicity once again being unable to get from the manufacturer to the pharmacy, to whatever the fuck else that is annoying the shit out of me. these are the days i wish i was out at the farm and i'd go out to the bank barn and hope the gun doesn't jam.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Florida, 3-2. Florida is now up in the series 3-2., if i am counting on the nostalgia of 1994, this is exactly what happened in the Eastern Conference finals against the Devils. Messier guaranteed a win in Game 6 (which he scored a natural hat trick in) and then they won Game 7 at home in double overtime. the only problem with this scenario is there is no Mark Messier on this team. do i think they can win Game 6 down in Florida? yes. do i think they will? maybe? it wouldn't shock me if i am shaving late Saturday night.
the New York Yankees won last night at Anaheim, 8-3. they start a series tonight at San Francisco.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
the NBA Finals are now set. Dallas vs. Boston.
I Can See Your Voice was good last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was pretty funny last night.
Welcome to Wrexham was excellent last night.

i'm sure i will watch some of Game 5 between Dallas and Edmonton tonight.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i did write 2 poems today while mom was in physical therapy. i think they are pretty good.
hard to believe tomorrow is the first of June.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
it felt like it was in the 90's today. i just love grocery shopping on a day where it feels like the frozen shit will be melted by the time you get back home. good times.
the New York Yankees won last night in Seattle, 10-2. they go for the sweep tonight.
NXT was really good last night.
Deadliest Catch was good last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was good last night.
Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge made me think of the all the Hot Wheels i used to have as a kid.
Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.

i know there are some MLS games tonight i might check out.
i need to get outside and water the flowers. i think some of them have already died in this heat.
after that, i need to get dinner going and get the trash picked up and taken out. i'm not sure why most of the people around here put it out early. i guess they have already forgot about Memorial Day.
hard to believe today is the last day of May.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow kids...
until then...

so, i was fully engaged last night with Game 7 between the Rangers and Carolina. when the Rangers got 2 first period goals on the power play and Trouba knocked out one of Carolina's best players with a clean hit, i had a really good feeling. and by the end of the game, with mostly blue shirts in the stands shouting Let's Go Rangers, i was happy. the Rangers won Game 7 on the road, 6-2. that was Carolina's first loss at home all playoffs. now, the Rangers will host the Lightning in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at MSG. the Lightning will not be easy to beat that's for certain. they are trying to win their 3rd straight Stanley Cup. basically, it will be which Russian goalie plays best will win the series. i like the Rangers chances because they don't know any better at this point. let the youth lead you and climb onboard boys. i can't wait for tomorrow night.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was very good last night.

Game 1 of the Western Conference finals is tonight between Colorado and Edmonton. there is so much damn talent in this series, i truly hope non-hockey fans check it out and see how beautiful the game can be at times.
the Yankees start a series tonight at home against the Angels.
mom didn't go to physical therapy today. she's a little pissed that they won't give her anything stronger for her bruised tailbone. i told her she should have done this a decade ago and she would already have a couple of bottles of Oxy waiting for her. i had to go to Kroger today to get her some pills and some other shit that she hopes will numb the pain enough for her to sleep.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
hard to fucking believe tomorrow will be June 1st.

yesterday was one of those days where nothing went my way.
the Yankees got swept by the shitty Detroit Tigers, 6-2. they start a series this afternoon at home against Tampa. they are 4 1/2 games behind them in the division.
the USMNT lost to Switzerland yesterday in a soccer friendly, 2-1.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:
i did watch some of the Indy 500 yesterday and the Coca Cola 600 as well.
the finale of Mare of Easttown was fucking great last night.
The Chi was really good last night.
Black Monday was pretty funny last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was very good last night.
Ziwe was brilliant last night.
to top everything off for yesterday, the bread i bought on Wednesday already had mold on it. good times.

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i do plan on watching some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.
i will probably watch some of the NCAA Lacrosse national championship today. Maryland will be facing Virginia.
i did some work outside this morning. i got the new birdfeeder station up. mom doesn't remember it being as tall as it is. but, i've got it pretty close to our front window, so she should be able to see the birds pretty good when they are on the feeders. i also watered the tomatoes in the back and took some old chairs to the front of the house. i think we're throwing them away since a good portion of the wood is rotted out. i picked up some weeds and filled the rest of the bird feeders. so, i'm done outside for the rest of today.
i'm going to take a shower here shortly and probably get to icing my back down for the rest of the day.
at least i know i will have 1 drink tonight.
team USA won at the Hockey Worlds this morning, 2-0 over Germany. i'm pretty sure they are guaranteed to make the quarterfinals now.
those poems i wrote last night were some of the most powerful political shit i have written in years. i really hope they get published somewhere one day.
kudos to the asshole that runs the country. you have made sure those with a gun believe the news media are on the same level as the protestors. this is how democracy dies and a country begins its devolution into a third world country. no wonder the rich are trying to figure out if they can live in space.
ROH was really good last night.
i ended up watching this concert last night on YouTube for the Colorado Music Relief Fund. it was a nice diversion from everything else going on in the world.
my stubborn mother has gone to the bathroom 6 times this morning. i told maybe it's time to get tested for everything to see what is really going on. she brushed that off. so, now i get to see how much of an asshole i have to be today so she gets a little urgency about the situation. joy.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be I Know This Much Is True, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, Hightown, VICE, Billions and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
i will probably watch some of the NASCAR race today.
i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank. i may have to get mom a new lamp for her desk tomorrow as well. the piece to turn on the lamp broke off and her arthritis is such that she can't turn it on without that. and i don't think she wants to call me into her room everytime she wants the lamp on.
to all the protestors, keep up the fight.

it was fucking raining like the end of the world when i came out of the grocery store today. i decided fuck it. i haven't had a shower in almost a week, i won't melt. i got fucking soaked. and then, of course, after i got the groceries into the house, the phone rings. it was the city calling to say the boil advisory was lifted. it never fails, especially since i bought more water today as well.
the rain wasn't supposed to come until tonight. i'm hoping that most of the roofs got tarps before this shit hit this afternoon.
Brookville was the last community to get their water back.
mom just took her shower. i'm going to take mine in the morning.
the New York Yankees got rained out last night. that game will be made up as a doubleheader in August. so, hopefully the game tonight against Boston won't have any weather issues.
here are your highlights from Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

we got over 2 inches of rain yesterday and last night. you can imagine the amount of shitty sleep i got. and since mom didn't want any coffee this morning, i didn't make any. joy.
i wrote 11 poems today while mom was in her physical therapy session. that brings my total for the month to 67 poems. that's 1 more than last month. i don't see this type of production staying up during the summer, but who knows. i did type up the poems i wrote today when we got home. i do like a few of them. i will probably do my next round of submissions in the first week of June.
the New York Yankees won last night over Houston, 5-3. that's another series win. they start a series at Baltimore tonight. of course, they are in a damn rain delay at the moment. that's part of the reason this blog is so late.
here are your highlights from Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final last night:

i figure at the rate i'm living at the moment, i will be dead sometime in my 50's. i don't sleep worth a shit anymore and i certainly don't have a favorable view of anything any longer. if i get more than a few hours of sleep at a time anymore, i'm shocked. i constantly find myself waking up to see how mom's doing. i noticed when i changed her dressing last night, it looked like she has some pus or something near her incision. the nurse comes again on the weekend i believe. i showed mom what it looked like and since she, the medical professional, didn't seemed alarmed by it, i figure i shouldn't be either. hopefully it looks better when i do it again tonight.
the New York Yankees scored early and often last night and defeated Baltimore 8-3. they will go for the series win tonight.
i thought Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was pretty good as well last night. i get the feeling that Austin Aries is going to win this Sunday against Neville.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i got some great FREE music this morning on NoiseTrade. links will be below in the music section.
mom's physical therapist is supposed to be here soon. i figure once she's gone, mom will need to get some sleep. and when that happens, i can go to the grocery store without anything happening while she's here alone. that's why i'm doing the blog now as i have no clue when i'll be back from the grocery store.
it's hard to believe that the end of May is already here. as i tell my mother all the time, time flies on the back side of the circle.
i might check out some of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight. hopefully Nashville will win so this will actually be a competitive series.
that's all for me kids.

let me sum up the last 13 years of my life, especially when it comes to matters with the opposite sex. i will meet someone, normally online, that takes an interest in me. we'll chat and get to know each other. eventually, the talk gets dirty and some sex (real or imaginative) happens. usually within 24 hours of that happening, the issue of money will be the next conversation. sometimes it's i'm stuck in a foreign country and need money to come back home. or it's i'm taking care of a sick relative that needs surgery or my favorite one... i'm in nursing school and just need the money to help me pay for books. most of these women end up being in Africa or sometimes Europe. now, keep in mind that very early on in the getting to know you phase, i mention that i'm a poet and i am poor. for some fucking reason, that part never gets through. so, now we come to yesterday. i have been talking to this woman online that told me she lived right down the street from me but is over in Germany taking care of sick grandparents. she's supposed to be coming home in a few days and we had talked about meeting up. of course, there was some dirty talk involved. she sent me a picture of her tits and i naturally checked google to see if they were on the internet already. they weren't, which made me think, holy shit, i might have an actual connection with someone. i had a little writing session today and i wrote 6 poems, mostly ones involving this woman in one way or another. so, when i got online this afternoon, the first message from her was she lost her credit card and now needs money to come home. you have got to be shitting me. at this point, i may never talk to another person online ever again. there is a part of me that hopes one day this amazing looking woman shows up at my door and says hello, do you remember... but the old fuck in me that hates the world is currently taking hope out and beating the shit out of it. so, if anyone ever wants to know why i'm single, there you have it. and i have friends that want me to try online dating. why do so many fucking people hate me?
i was not surprised that Golden State won last night. OKC choked once again. so, it now sets up Cleveland vs. Golden State for the second year in a row. well, if LeBron is going to end the Cleveland drought, he's going to have to earn it.
i didn't watch much of the hockey game last night. the only player on Pittsburgh that i will be happy for if they win the cup will be Carl Hagelin. i will always fondly remember his years with the Rangers. the rest of them could all die and i wouldn't give a shit.
the New York Yankees didn't do much last night, losing 4-2. they didn't score until the 9th inning. they play again tonight up in Toronto.
i did enjoy Monday Night Raw last night, mostly for AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows beating the living shit out of John Cena. it was glorious. after Raw, WWE 24 on WWE Network had a show about Seth Rollins return from his knee injury. it was excellent.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and Maya & Marty.
out of the 6 poems i wrote today, i think a couple of them are pretty good. i want to stay more productive than i normally am in the summer with my writing. hopefully, that actually happens.
it's another hot one here today. i actually saw a hummingbird at one of the feeders today. hopefully it enjoyed what i have out for them.
the NCAA Men's College Lacrosse final certainly didn't disappoint yesterday. North Carolina won in OT. they became the first school to ever win the men's and women's in the same year.
i need to go next door and get the recyclables picked up, so that's all for me today kids.
i hope everyone had a great holiday. if not, i certainly understand.

got up this morning and felt like hell. it was raining on and off all night. my right ankle felt like it was broken in about 50 places. but, the past few weeks have really sharpened my pain tolerance. i'm not exactly sure how i'm walking, but i am. after mom and i went to McDonald's for breakfast (probably not the best choice) we went to the farm. i spent almost 18 years out there, trying to build a habitat good for animals, plants, insects, humans, etc. while driving up the lane, the fuckers that bought the farm in the auction (but technically don't own it yet) have taken it upon themselves to make the farm look the way they want it to. all the fencing is gone. all the cats are gone. the trees that were my cousin's father's trees from California are gone. there's these huge piles of wood and trash all over the place. i told mom it's a damn good thing i took the gasoline a few weeks ago or there would already be a few bonfires going on the farm. i put air in the tires of my truck. i'm hoping it goes for something north of $50 in the upcoming auction. we had to break down a few shelving units that we want to use in the garage of the new house. after a few hours, it was more or less time to go. if i don't have to be at the upcoming auction (mom will be out of town), today is probably the last day i will be at the farm. it was sad to see all those damn trees knocked down. the pastures were mowed, which is the first time they were touched in a decade. i kept them high so animals could hunt in them or hide in them while being hunted. i have no clue what the new owners are going to do with the place. i'm pretty sure i won't like it regardless. most of this afternoon i've been thinking of what happened to the cats. my gut tells me they are dead. and not like they were out and about and got caught my another animal dead. like they were caught and killed and dumped somewhere. if i had any guilt in my body, this would be where it would be killing me. but i don't. part of the asshole gene i suppose. just a few more weeks and all of this will be over.
i did watch most of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions last night. it was cool to see Joan Jett play. hard to believe Green Day has been around that long. plus, i loved the induction of Stevie Ray Vaughn. between him and Lou Reed, the tears of nostalgia were flowing last night.
the Stanley Cup Final is set. Chicago vs. Tampa Bay. sadly, my dream final has always been Chicago vs. New York Rangers. what could have been.
ROH last night was so damn good i watched it again this afternoon. the buildup between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe has been excellent. i can't wait to see that match.
the weather has cooled down a bit today. of course, it took a day or two of rain to have that happen.
time for a music break:
the New York Yankees got some great relief pitching last night and a few clutch hits to win 5-3. they go for the split this afternoon.
after the game, i'll probably go right to watching the WWE Network. i am really looking forward to the Elimination Chamber matches tonight. hopefully, Kevin Owens will destroy John Cena. plus, the two chamber matches for the titles tonight should be amazing. hopefully i'll have plenty of videos to share tomorrow.
so on the DVR tonight will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight. i figure i'll watch a few after the wrestling and then catch up with the rest either Monday morning or afternoon.
while going through some shit last night, mom came across a thank you note sent to both of us back in 1981. it came from one of the hostages that was in the Iran hostage crisis back in 1979/1980. as you might imagine, i wasn't the normal 4 or 5 year old. being able to read at 2, i was fully aware of current events by the age of 4. hell, by 8 i was reading at a college level. not sure where i'm going to keep this letter, but it will find a place somewhere in this house.
that's all for me today. i hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully the sun is out where you are.

just got done folding my last load of laundry. like a dumb ass i turned the air off today and opened up the house. it's in the 80's today. no humidity but no real breeze either. good times.
after playing last night like they wanted to be somewhere else, (losing 6-1), the Yankees won today 3-1. helps that Tanaka pitched 8 strong innings and gave up 1 un-earned run. the defense absolutely fucking sucked today. hopefully they can rough up their former teammate tomorrow and win the series. knowing how this season has gone, Phil Hughes will look like Cy Young tomorrow.
i did watch Miami destroy Indiana last night to go to their 4th straight NBA Finals. that must have sucked to all the LeBron haters out there, watching him do something Michael Jordan never did.
also, i watched Chicago force a Game 7 be defeating the Kings out in Los Angeles. that should be interesting on Sunday night. i don't care who wins. just hope they play forever and have nothing left for the finals against the Rangers.
tonight, after i put my laundry away and make my bed for the first time in weeks, i plan on watching the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions on HBO. that should be good. also, there's a new episode of ROH tonight. and a Game 6 in the NBA playoffs. so, i'll be bouncing around between those things.
i did a little poetry work last night. came up with 20 poems to send out. now i just need to figure out where they are going. i've got a few places in mind. the plan is to have another round of submissions out by June 6th.
had a little fun on iTunes today. came across a band i had never heard of, Royal Blood. i got their EP and i have to admit, it is really fucking good. definitely a band i will keep an eye out on.
i'll be on here tomorrow after the Yankees game and/or Team USA's friendly against Turkey. i'm hoping they play much better tomorrow than they did in their last game. i'd like to think they actually have a chance to make it out of group play in the World Cup. (i'm dreaming)
hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday. and hopefully you haven't been stuck inside doing the toilets and laundry like i have been today.
be well.

anyone that knows me knows just how much i hate losing. i'm the most competitive person i know and quite frankly, it's disgusting. so, knowing the Yankees are in the midst of a 5 game losing streak with the fucking Red Sox coming to town, is driving me nuts.
the Yankees last night once again made the Mets look like a competent baseball team in a 3-1 loss. some of the injured players are supposed to come back tonight. i'm not even sure if that would help this team right now. who knows if they have found rock bottom or not. if they haven't, this has the makings of a long fucking season.
and the other losing streak on my mind is my own. i heard back from Nerve Cowboy today on my poetry submission from back in February. they have decided to pass. this of course is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. but for a poet who tends to over analyze everything... that's 2 major submissions in the past week that have come up blank. not good. but, now i really have some poems to go through and send out soon. my apologies in advance to the editors and publishers that follow this blog.
so, you can imagine the great mood i'm in. thankfully, got a little money in the mail today for Sofisticated White Trash, so that is what i'm focusing on. or at least trying to.
the weather is supposed to get a little hectic here in a bit. scattered thunderstorms today and a 40% chance of a possible tornado tomorrow. just what i need. more shit to drive me more crazy than i already am.
i did watch a good bit of the LeBron James show last night, otherwise known as the Eastern Conference Finals. i laugh at all these fucking idiots who won't take the time to understand that it's much better to enjoy watching one of the best players ever, especially by the time he is done, than constantly shitting on him because he doesn't fit YOUR mold of great. and yes, i know, he won't be Michael Jordan. no one will. but, there will never be another LeBron James either.
just had a knock on the door from Fed Ex. and instantly my mind races to one of my big porn fantasies. of course it was a guy. it never fails. where are all the female drivers who have no more deliveries to make and a dirtier mind than mine?
hope everyone has a great and safe weekend. i'm really hoping i have no damage to report over the weekend here on the farm. but i have this knot in my stomach telling me that i might be way fucking closer to a tornado this weekend than i really want to be. and of course, my sick ass will try to get some pictures or videos if something does happen.
music today:
Howlin' Wolf - The Definitive Collection
Tom Waits - Heartattack And Vine
so, i got up this morning before the sun. got some shit done, had breakfast, and got ready to watch Manchester United vs. Chelsea. i should have just stayed in bed. at no point in this match did i feel like United was playing well enough to win. so, hats off to Chelsea as they won 1-0. yet another year without the FA Cup. and to think a few months ago i thought they would win the treble this year, it's going to be really fucking hard to not think of just winning the league title as something other than disappointing.
so, after that, had a few hours until Yankee Opening Day. another fucking waste of my time. they lost to the Red Sox 8-2. it's pretty fucking simple this year for the Yankees. if they don't pitch well, they will not win. plain and simple. that is, until the $200 million or so on the disabled list comes back. and by then, who knows how many fucking games they will be out of the race. sadly, most of the game was an extension of last season. just the simple inability to get a hit when it matters.
so, tonight i'll see if the New York Rangers can either pull me out of this funk or just put a fitting end to a shitty day. they play at home in a must win against Winnipeg, a team they haven't beat this season. thank fucking god The Voice and Monday Night Raw are on tonight as well.
and seeing that this is the last Raw before Wrestlemania, it should be really damn good.
as for the weekend, not much at all went on. got about half of the basketball games right (a cheap attempt at being positive, i got the other half wrong). my sister came down for the weekend and it's always good catching up with her. the weather was mostly decent, so that was nice. i was watching the Louisville game when that kid broke his leg. that was really fucking gruesome. might be as bad as i've seen in all my years watching sports. and god knows i've seen so many damn injuries that are 'holy shit' moments, they all tend to blend together anymore.
i still have the team i picked to win the National Championship alive (Louisville). i finished 3rd in fantasy hockey for the regular season. the playoffs start tonight. all of us finished at least 10 games behind the regular season champion, so anyone other than him winning will be a complete upset. fantasy baseball started last night as well. off to a decent start, knock on wood.
what i will try to do for National Poetry Month is post a poem to my Google+ page each day of the month. today was a little Walt Whitman.
lastly, especially if i have another writing session in the next few days, expect some news on some poetry submissions.

i get that the Yankees want to tell all of us they are on a budget. but to see on the same day they bring back the hammer of god, Mariano Rivera, they lose their starting catcher to the Pirates because they offered more money. you've got to be fucking kidding me. i know all the benefits they will get if the team gets under the pseudo salary cap. i'm not sure i want to see 2 years of fucking sucking in order to do it. but, if it means that afterwards the team payroll goes up to $300 million, i'll live with it. i just don't see that happening either. the fucking Pirates.
i always thought the end of the world would sneak up on me. i'll be damned, it did.
lucky people, start checking your mailboxes in the coming week or so. some goodies are on the way. goodies or shit taking up space in my bedroom. you be the judge.

when i found out this morning i didn't win shit even though i picked all the NFL games correctly last week, i was a bit pissed. i missed the Sunday night score by 4 points (i had the Steelers score correct, and , as per usual, the Bengals let me down once again). being poor, only making money from doing surveys, the charity of my friends, and selling used shit and the occasional book, this was a bit of a letdown.
given that news, i sit down this afternoon to watch Manchester United in Champions League play. as usual, they give up a goal early. no biggie. 20 minutes in and they give up the next one. now, my usual bitter asshole tendencies come out. but only for 5 minutes, as Chicharito scores to cut it to 2-1. in the second half, Jonny Evans, who somehow has turned into a goal machine, ties the game at 2. then in the 75th minute (or somewhere around there) Cleverley pulls out one hell of a cross to Chicharito for the eventual game winner. winning this way never gets old. falling behind early certainly does. but, when you rest 2 of the usual 4 defenders, you run the risk of shit happening. HUGE game this Sunday with Chelsea. to say my attention will be not completely on the NFL this Sunday will be a gross understatement. lose at Chelsea and the league might as well be a lost cause. of course, i've thought this before and they have proved me wrong. but that was the days when they had great defenders. those days are sadly gone.
after The Voice tonight, i have no clue what i'll be watching. i'm sure i'll find something. probably music related. or history. or food. or college football with 2 teams i don't know. could be an early sleep night.
