the sun will come back someday i guess

today was yet another cloudy, rainy, gloomy day. perfect for a poet, if that poet wasn't riddled with arthritis.

i did send out 27 poems today; 6 to ZYX, 5 each to Otoliths, Shot Glass Journal and Synchronized Chaos, 3 each to The Beatnik Cowboy and Bluepepper. when i hear back from these places (i've already heard back good news from Synchronized Chaos) i will post the verdicts.

the New York Yankees held on for a 3-2 victory yesterday over Tampa. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Baltimore. they are 3 1/2 games behind Boston in the division.

Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Alex was evicted. Paul is the new HOH. i believe he also won the POV, so Christmas will evict the next house guest. that will probably be Kevin. Paul has already said he wants to take Josh to the final 2. hopefully that plan blows up in his face.

You're the Worst was great last night.

Total Bellas was pretty damn funny last night.

Lucha Underground was celebrating its 100th episode last night. i would say about 95 out of the 100 have been excellent.

NXT was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, The Chris Gethard Show, Better Things and Fuck, That's Delicious Classics.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2017/9/14/wrestling-podcast-151-cfo

i made a little trip over to Meijer today after i went to the post office. i needed some picture frames (on sale) and a few odds and ends and mom was low on Diet Coke (on sale). so, i figure i would get that today while i was out. i know how the drug fiends get when they are going without.

i need to go to the grocery store tomorrow, so i will probably be on here after that.

i believe the fucking sun is supposed to come out tomorrow. it would be nice if the weekend was at least fucking bearable here.

until tomorrow my friends.

it's always the hard way...

before i go on about Manchester United, a little poetry news first...

i sent out 24 poems today; 3 to Full of Crow, 6 to ZYX and 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Section 8 Magazine and Misfit Magazine. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.

i did hear back from Alan at Misfit Magazine. they are in a bit of a holding pattern at the moment and wants me to send again in July.

Manchester United knew all they needed was a draw today to advance to the Europa League final. sadly, that's how they played as well. sometimes they were great but as usual, never clinical. and the rest of the time they simply sat back and gave away chance after chance. thank god Celta Vigo couldn't hit the broadside of a barn for most of the match. now, the red cards late really pissed me off and i do hope that the red card Eric Bailly picked up gets rescinded. i figure it won't, but i can dream i suppose. United will play Ajax in the Europa League final. a win is the only way United can make the Champions League next season.

NXT was really good last night. the upcoming Takeover event in Chicago should be great.

the season finale of Total Divas was actually pretty damn good last night. i think i could watch Lana and Naomi dance forever.

i did watch a little of both Game 7's last night. i was not shocked at all by Washington losing at home and i'm sure the league is happy that Anaheim beat Edmonton.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, the season finale of The Big Bang Theory and the season finale of Life in Pieces.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against Houston. this is the weekend they will retire Derek Jeter's number 2.

i have to take mom tomorrow to get her blood work done again for her upcoming surgery.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast today. you can find that by going here:

driving in the rain

it's been some time since i was caught driving in one of these classic Midwestern holy shit storms. but, i was trying to get some shit done today and got caught in a storm that made me laugh. i could barely see anything it was raining so bad. of course, i kept driving. i figured i was on roads i knew like the back of my hand, so i'm good; just slow down. plus, i figured the rain would get all the salt and dirt off of the vehicle. of course, i wasn't planning on another downpour hitting as i was at the takeout window placing an order. that was fun.

i sent out 15 poems today. 6 each to ZYX and Beautiful Losers and 3 to Yellow Mama. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.

after i left the post office, i was on a mission to find some cheap picture frames. i only found 2 of the 5 i needed, so i guess a trip to a craft store is coming up soon. mom wanted me to get some cash out of her account. thankfully her bank has an ATM in the next town over. that's way better than driving 20 miles out into the sticks to get the money.

the arthritis in these rain storms is almost a dull ache anymore. what that tells me is my pain tolerance is still top notch. of course, it's not fun when the arthritis is bad enough that typing and writing is a fucking chore.

i was really looking forward to the Dayton Flyers game last night. they were getting back their best player and was playing at a place they haven't won in the regular season since 2004; the perfect time for revenge. instead, Dayton went out and played like absolute shit. foul trouble, turnovers, stupid fucking decisions, more turnovers, did i mention turnovers? (Dayton had 19 turnovers in the game). that all lead to a 67-55 loss to UMass that never really felt that close. Dayton plays again on Saturday at Duquesne, so hopefully they get this bad taste out of their mouth quickly. the A10 is full of landmines this season, and Dayton just hit one last night.

the mid-season finale of Lucha Underground had a few holy shit moments last night. the show comes back in the summer.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch The Revival wrestle #D.I.Y. all day long and never get bored.

Total Divas was fucking ridiculous as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Life in Pieces, Fuck, That's Delicious, Lip Sync Battle and Caraoke Showdown.

i guess my sister's job interview went well this morning. she's supposed to hear back by next week if she's got the job or not. i think she wants it as i don't think she wants to be unemployed too long. i believe her financial planner is thinking the same thing.

i know i have to go to the grocery store tomorrow as i have my own pills to pick up. plus, since there's a damn ice storm coming Friday night, it should be a shit show of panicky motherfuckers buying groceries like the world is coming to an end. i'll be in the liquor store, that's for sure.

busy for a lazy person

so yesterday i woke up because of the phone ringing. today was a cramp in my left leg. talk about one of those holy shit, ok i'm awake moments. thankfully, it didn't last long. but, i took it as a sign to get my ass going and get shit done today. more on all that later.

i finally won a fantasy football match. 1-1 is certainly better than 0-2, which i am in my other league. i did go 11-5 on picks for the week. that's 3 games better than the week before.

i did watch a little of the Eagles win over the Bears last night. i'm not yet ready to declare Carson Wentz great yet. let him beat a good team first.

Monday Night Raw was mostly ho hum for the first 2 hours. then the cruiserweights finally came out. that match was a little sloppy but certainly kept me awake. the steel cage match between Owens and Reigns was good, until the fucking ending. why the fuck would you ever have your champion lose a match right before a ppv? oh, that's right, Vince wants all of us to think of Roman Reigns as the next John Cena. well, fuck you Vince. he's not. he's not even a good Roman Reigns yet. i just know they are going to fuck up this Clash of Champions coming up on Sunday.

The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

Gotham was fucking spectacular. the show just keeps getting better.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i do enjoy that Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus are shaking up the show a bit. a few of the singers were really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown, Scream Queens, Atlanta and The Voice. i'll probably end up watching USA vs. Canada in the World Cup of Hockey for a little bit tonight. it's a MUST WIN game for team USA.

the New York Yankees will try to stop their losing streak tonight down in Tampa. i won't be watching.

i did send out 17 poems today. 6 each to In Between Hangovers and ZYX; 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

before i mailed out the poems, i made a deposit at the bank. the bank i go to isn't that far away from where there was a murder last night. good times.

after the bank, i went to the local grocery store to get milk and bread. a note to the stunning blonde i saw in the store and was parked in front of me in the parking lot: WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? of course, she was absolutely not interested in me at all. i passed her once and made eye contact and smiled and i'm not sure if she saw me or was looking right through me. but, she will end up in some poems.

mom cancelled her appointment with the chiropractor. she's a little pissy that her doctor hasn't got back to her about the MRI. these are the times where i wish she was a drinker.

i still have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me today kids.

one of these days i'll get to sleep forever...

i believe a cold front moved through overnight, as i tossed and fucking turned all night long. not exactly the kind of sleep i wanted going into a day i knew i would be sending out some poems. i'd like to think i do my best work when i'm feeling my best. of course, if that was true, my work has been shit for the last few years. no comments from the peanut gallery please.

i sent out 12 poems today; 6 to ZYX and 3 each to Dead Snakes and In Between Hangovers. i'll post the verdicts when i hear back from these places.

the New York Yankees pissed away lead after lead last night. thankfully, they are finally starting to show some heart and some fucking resolve. they battled back each time and eventually won 10-7. they will go for another series win in the game tonight.

The Voice is now at the point of the season where everyone left is talented enough to win the whole thing. of course, that wouldn't have been the case if Nick would have stayed last night.
there are now 8 left in the competition. i could see 6 of them winning the whole thing.

Deadliest Catch was pretty damn interesting last night.

i did catch the overtime of the Capitals vs. Penguins last night. i laughed when Pittsburgh scored to eliminate Washington. i have to think that Ovechkin knows at this point he's never going to win it all in Washington. perhaps they trade him to a certain team in New York that they once traded Jagr to. just a thought. the Penguins will now play Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Final. i'll only watch because there are ex-Rangers on each team.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT and some other shit on WWE Network tonight. also, i'll flip between some baseball and a Game 7 in the NHL.

i had an interesting talk at the post office today. i wasn't expecting the person behind the counter to tell me about her drug problem. her eyes got a little wide when i told her my pain tolerance is such that i can take 3 Percocets and they won't even phase me. i told her i'm not going to become an addict just so i don't feel pain. i was about to explain my theory on finding the pleasure in the pain but an old lady walked in. but i imagine the poems are going to get interesting.

today has been one of those days where the arthritis has won most of the day. when the body aches just sitting, you know it's a no win situation.

i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. i highly recommend checking out his interview with EC3. it's a must listen.

i knew it was my life when i needed to get to my email and i couldn't

this morning was one of those mornings where i could have rebooted the fucking computer a trillion fucking times and nothing would have changed. i had poems i needed to email out and my email wasn't coming up for anything. it wasn't until i just left it alone and spent 30 minutes fucking around with Candy Crush that it finally came up.

i sent out 11 poems today; 6 to ZYX, 3 to Yellow Mama and 2 to BoySlut. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

well, the sports voodoo relented for an evening, sort of. the New York Rangers beat Toronto 4-2. of course, seeing that they were playing the worst team in the league, something shitty had to come out of the game. unfortunately, the captain got drilled in the head again. this is the exact reason why i want AV to play Dylan McIlrath every fucking game. and with how Girardi and Boyle are playing, there's no reason why he shouldn't be playing every night. the fucker on Toronto at least got a 3 game suspension for the hit.

WWE Smackdown was better than Monday Night Raw in my opinion. it did the job and has me looking forward to the pay per view on Sunday, Fastlane.

The Big Bang Theory was really fucking funny last night. Life in Pieces was excellent but the ending hit me way too close to home. i had that kind of relationship where i was ready to take the next step and ask the perfect someone to move in with me but she broke up with me instead. thankfully the Rangers won so i could have a nice strong drink last night.

Lip Sync Battle was one of those things that you simply can't un-see. you have been warned.

Baskets was really good last night.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Treehouse Masters and VICE.

the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow at noon. i know after the game i have to take mom to where she works to sign some things. and then, hopefully, we'll eat and go to the grocery store. i know i have some pills i have to get. and some beer. good combination.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. maybe early evening i suppose.

the wind has been crazy as fuck here today. when i was driving to the post office i felt for sure that some of the signs along the side of the road were going to get swept up and become projectiles. plus, it's damn near 65 degrees today. nothing like going from snow to shorts.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone has a great weekend. call if you need bail money.

taking advantage of the sun

there's a chilly sunshine today. i'm sure the birds were happy when i got out there and put some food out for them. plus, our cheap ass chimes in the front broke. so, to make the front yard even more sophisticated white trash, i got out the black duct tape and fixed it. then i had to make a trip to the post office.

i sent out 16 poems today. 6 to ZYX and 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash and Hiram Poetry Review. when i hear back from these places i will post the verdicts.

i was really disappointed with the Manchester United game yesterday. they fucking lost in penalty kicks to a team in the league beneath them. 3 United players missed penalties; Rooney, Carrick and Young. fuck me. not even to mention that the ref missed 2 obvious fucking handballs in the box. what truly pissed me off was this was another classic example of this United team playing down to its' competition. that fucking drives me insane. the sad thing is you could see the teenagers actually trying to do something positive. everyone else acted like they didn't want to be at home playing in front of 70,000 fans or so. needless to say i was livid after the game. mom got upset with me after the game. i laughed as i chose to actually shave and take a shower after the game. i guess i'm supposed to start drinking, break shit and then beat the ones i love like a good sports fan. and they think i'm the one that has gone crazy.

thankfully, NXT was excellent last night. the tag team match between Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa was off the charts great. overall, the show was just what i needed after that shitty soccer game.
i also watched Culture Shock and Table for 3 after NXT. other than the feed fucking up from time to time, it was a good use of my time.

American Horror Story was great last night. each episode gets a little darker and more graphic. LOVE IT. You're The Worst was great as well.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight so i will be flipping between the NFL game, some college football and some hockey. maybe even some NBA as well.

i did catch some of the Sacramento Kings loss to the Clippers last night. i do think the Kings will be better this season. i doubt they will make the playoffs out west, but i do think they will be close. hopefully.

that's all for me today. i think mom and i may go out later today. i know she said she wanted to get some things. if so, maybe something will spark my imagination for tomorrow. i'm not holding my breath.

i should be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. not that you actually plan your day around this blog (like you should).

not the night i was hoping for

the New York Rangers played the worst game i have watched them play in probably 7 months or so last night. every chance they had to do something good they would fuck it up. they are the only fucking team i know that can turn a 5 on 3 power play into a goal for the other team. and they took way too many fucking penalties. the only good thing that came from last night? losing 6-2 finally ends that damn 1 goal game streak they were on. and getting humbled that way at home hopefully brings out the team that had the most road victories in the NHL this season when they play Game 3 down in Tampa. for some fucking reason, The King stinks in Game 2's.

the only thing that cheered me up last night was this:
talk about a holy shit moment. i have watched Kevin's career for like the past decade or so. i was so happy for him last night. and to know that he will be facing John Cena in 2 weeks... god i hope he beats the living hell out of Cena and takes the title. Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the future of pro wrestling, Dean Ambrose, played a major role in the success of the show:
plus, the male soap opera part was played well once again:
Dolph has always been one lucky fucker. if him and Rusev feuds, that should be a great one. all in all, not a bad show.

sadly, since the hockey stunk last night, i watched most of Raw as it was happening. and i was so pissed by the Rangers game that i stayed up and made sure to watch The Voice last night before i went to bed.

i thought all the performances last night on The Voice were very good. but, ultimately, i think it will be this one that wins it all:
unless there is another shocker like last season, i think Sawyer has this one in the bag. the winner will be announced tonight.

on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch.

David Letterman had another great show last night. it will be really fucking strange to not see him anymore on television:
tonight will be Bill Murray and Bob Dylan. the DVR will be recording.

here's some more from last night:

the New York Yankees play at Washington tonight. i'm not looking forward to it.

the NBA Draft Lottery is tonight. hopefully the Sacramento Kings can somehow slip into the top 3. i would love to see that happen. god knows, they are due for some good luck by now.

got some free music on iTunes today. i also picked up the new single from Slayer. much better than i thought it was going to be.

mom and i are going to go to the grocery store here in a little bit. we're at the point where the fridge is getting a little too empty. and hopefully my creative juices get flowing again. i need to really start cranking out the poems again.

while on that topic, i sent 6 poems out today to ZYX. when i hear back from Arnold on those, i'll pass on the verdict.

i'm still trying to get used to having neighbors again. i can't remember living in a neighborhood where everyone cut their fucking lawns like every 3 days. it's annoying as all hell. we also have 2 ducks that have been keeping in the shade underneath our tree in the front. they were in the back this morning when i was feeding the birds. i threw them some sunflower seeds. i figure better they get them than the damn squirrels. so, of course, it's still a fucking zoo here, just no cats or deer. so far.

that's all for me today. hope this finds everyone with a pulse.

and 39 years ago today i screamed let me out

today became a birthday of getting shit done. i woke up in a decent enough mood and decided to be a glutton for punishment. i started typing up poems. exactly how any asshole who thinks himself to be a poet should spend his time at 7 in the morning on his birthday. in my utopia, i would be getting a blowjob while eating grapes. in reality, i'm wondering why my fingers don't work as fast on this keyboard.

anywho, i sent 16 poems out today. 3 to The Camel Saloon and 6 each to ZYX and The Stray Branch. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

i deposited my birthday money today at the bank. i also entered the gift card my mother got me for amazon.com. i'm not planning on getting anything from there until the move is complete. but, once that happens, i feel sorry for the postal service. i also got a New Orleans Saints shirt, some comfy house shoes, a Dayton Flyers scarf, and a book about Dayton's run to the Elite 8 last season. all in all, not a bad birthday at all.

mom and i went to the sports bar for my birthday this afternoon. when the waitress found out it was my birthday, she asked if i was turning 21. i laughed and noticed the ring on finger and thought to myself, if only... the drinks were a little stiff, which i certainly didn't mind.

now for the sports last night... the Dayton Flyers were due for a stinker. of course, they chose to play that one on national television after getting ranked in the top 25 for the first time this season. they got whipped in every aspect of the game by Davidson last night, 77-60. and quite honestly, it wasn't that close. but, shit happens. they are still 15-3. they play Richmond at home on Saturday night.

while Dayton was playing like shit, the New York Rangers were following right along. to say i was frustrated was an understatement. thankfully, New York came alive in the 3rd period and got the game to OT. and then, this happened:

what a great fucking way to go into the All-Star break. here are the highlights from the whole game:

tonight i'm planning on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story. i might watch some hockey as well. and then late tonight, i'm going to catch up on some podcasts while eating some birthday cake.

i also got a haircut today. the barber almost didn't recognize me without my goatee. he then asked how old i was. when i told him i turned 39 today, he was stunned. he remembers when my mother brought me in as a child. now, the funny part of this is this may have been the first time we have spoken outside of how do you want this cut in over a decade. after that, we shot the shit about sports for the next 20 minutes or so.

thankfully, my truck started right up today. i hadn't started it for almost a month. of course, i had to put some air in the tires, but it ran great. that takes a huge burden off of my mind.

ok, that's all for me today. i have some birthday cake waiting for me. thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. i truly do appreciate them.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

one of those days again...

one of those days where i felt like i was productive but i didn't get hardly anything i wanted to get done done. i'll blame most of that on my bad back. nothing like having to ice it down after doing the dishes. that's yet another sign that i'm 38 going on 78.

i sent out 12 poems today, 6 to ZYX and 3 each to The Camel Saloon and Dead Snakes. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

my back was killing me after the dishes so bad that i decided i will attempt to do my laundry tomorrow.

i basically watched everything but election day coverage last night on television. now, i do follow politics very closely, but i have no interest in this type of bullshit.

The Voice was a good recap, especially for myself as i have missed some performances. i like at least 1 person on each team, so i'm hoping the live shows really start to separate the good from the great.

saw a great performance on The Tonight Show last night. and the album is definitely in my top 5 of the year.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Detroit. looks like they are getting two players back tonight from injury. hopefully that will help them get the win and two points.

also tonight, i'm planning on watching American Horror Story and Lucha Underground. should be an interesting evening.

i guess there are some other people interested in the home my mom wants. this should make the next week or so interesting.

i guess we're going to have another cold streak coming for this weekend. the way my back is feeling, i'm going to fucking hate this winter. i can already feel it.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow during loads of laundry. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
