no sunshine in a land of rejection and dirty clothes

my last load of laundry is in the clothes dryer. today has been a day of agony. not because of anything happening, just life itself. no sunshine at all today. my back has been tight all damn day long. and i figured why not just totally fuck myself and do my laundry as well today. mom has been gone most of the day visiting my uncle at the nursing home. being home alone reminds me of how easy it is for me to slip into the darkness. play a couple sad songs and next thing you know i'm finishing off a bottle of vodka or scotch. good times.

i did watch the USA Women's soccer game last night. they tried so damn hard to make sure Abby Wambach scored that they forgot to actually just play the game and go win. so, China won 1-0 and it was the first time the women had lost at home in over a decade. it highlighted the one thought i have had since 2001. there is no such thing as a happy ending.

the DVR cut off American Horror Story before it ended last night. thankfully i didn't have to be up all damn night to see it. what a great fucking show. and now i have to wait until January to see what happens next. fuck me.

i heard back from Hiram Poetry Review on my poetry submission back in October. they once again have decided to pass on what i sent.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Minnesota. hopefully they can start stringing some wins together.

i am going to do my best to avoid the NFL game tonight. neither i nor my opponents have anyone playing in the game, so i have no need to watch it for fantasy football.

i am absolutely loving this new Butch Walker song:

be right back, i have clothes to fold.

now that i have that done, i suppose i can now think about taking a shower.

a big thank you to all of you that have sent Christmas cards so far. i really do appreciate it.

whenever we ever get done putting the decorations up (mom was going to start but other shit came up and lord knows she doesn't want me to do it) i'll start wrapping the gifts. i'm hoping i can find some brown paper bags for the bottles.

i hope everyone had a great day. hopefully the sun made an appearance where you live.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

taking advantage of the sun

there's a chilly sunshine today. i'm sure the birds were happy when i got out there and put some food out for them. plus, our cheap ass chimes in the front broke. so, to make the front yard even more sophisticated white trash, i got out the black duct tape and fixed it. then i had to make a trip to the post office.

i sent out 16 poems today. 6 to ZYX and 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash and Hiram Poetry Review. when i hear back from these places i will post the verdicts.

i was really disappointed with the Manchester United game yesterday. they fucking lost in penalty kicks to a team in the league beneath them. 3 United players missed penalties; Rooney, Carrick and Young. fuck me. not even to mention that the ref missed 2 obvious fucking handballs in the box. what truly pissed me off was this was another classic example of this United team playing down to its' competition. that fucking drives me insane. the sad thing is you could see the teenagers actually trying to do something positive. everyone else acted like they didn't want to be at home playing in front of 70,000 fans or so. needless to say i was livid after the game. mom got upset with me after the game. i laughed as i chose to actually shave and take a shower after the game. i guess i'm supposed to start drinking, break shit and then beat the ones i love like a good sports fan. and they think i'm the one that has gone crazy.

thankfully, NXT was excellent last night. the tag team match between Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa was off the charts great. overall, the show was just what i needed after that shitty soccer game.
i also watched Culture Shock and Table for 3 after NXT. other than the feed fucking up from time to time, it was a good use of my time.

American Horror Story was great last night. each episode gets a little darker and more graphic. LOVE IT. You're The Worst was great as well.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight so i will be flipping between the NFL game, some college football and some hockey. maybe even some NBA as well.

i did catch some of the Sacramento Kings loss to the Clippers last night. i do think the Kings will be better this season. i doubt they will make the playoffs out west, but i do think they will be close. hopefully.

that's all for me today. i think mom and i may go out later today. i know she said she wanted to get some things. if so, maybe something will spark my imagination for tomorrow. i'm not holding my breath.

i should be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. not that you actually plan your day around this blog (like you should).

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

and sometimes i'm the bleary eyed madman...

my theory is the dumb fuck that delivered the mail today forgot to put down the flags of the people who had mail to pick up. that's why i didn't get the mail until 5 PM. and of course, i should have gone out earlier and checked, but my disgust with people kind of makes that impossible. i'm sort of in my keep your mouth shut and eyes open phase of getting to know people around here. as usual, i'm looking for a disgruntled wife or a daughter getting ready to turn 18. simply looking for a muse you sick fucks. anything else would be quite the fucking surprise on my end.

in the mail today was a response from Hiram Poetry Review on my submission from July. they decided to pass but want me to try them again. i probably would if they would have sent back the poems they rejected. instead, since i had to print them out again, HPR will be shuffled back down the list. and thankfully, i didn't send out any poems today, because the 5 that got rejected will easily find homes at other places. so that more or less will change all the submissions i had lined up. this is the joy of being a poor poet with a healthy ego.

i picked the football game right last night. most of my fantasy players did decent except for the Washington RB i started that fumbled a touchdown out of the end zone.

the New York Yankees won last night 3-2. Carlos Beltran hit a 3 run homer and the pitching held on for dear life after that. the magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 6. hopefully they lower that number tonight.

Married was excellent last night. i really enjoyed the fact that the story was about trying to do a book and the strain that can cause between friends. i suppose that is why none of my friends really live close to me.

time for some music kids. fuck it, the weekend starts now:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night to Boston. i was pleased that they were winning the game when The King was in. he won't come out after 40 minutes in the regular season. they play tomorrow against the Devils.

i saw that the University of Dayton hired a new Athletic Director today. i automatically felt old when the new AD is younger than i am. hopefully he can clean up this Dyshawn Pierre mess. not sure how someone gets suspended for 10 games when the police and prosecutor's office didn't bring any charges against him. and if i was the coach of the team, rest assured i'm looking for the first big time job that comes my way now after the administration rushed to judgment on my senior captain. what a fucking mess.

Manchester United plays Sunderland tomorrow morning. i will probably post a blog before then. if i don't, it will surely be before Ohio State plays in the afternoon.

i got some awesome FREE music on NoiseTrade today from one of my favorite artists, Warren Haynes. i HIGHLY recommend you check out the link below in the music section.

a quick Flashback Friday today (yes, i know i forgot it last week). the first poem of mine is "decisions". this was published in January 2013. you can find it by going here:
http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/100s/issue140decisions.html

next up is my poem "after a glass of scotch". this was published in August 2012. you can find that poem by going here: http://napalmandnovocain.blogspot.com/2012/08/a-poem-by-jj-campbell.html

if you enjoy those poems, feel free to share them with the world. if you think they suck, feel free to email me and tell me that. i love a good thrashing from time to time.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i believe my mother leaves on Sunday for a conference in Columbus. so i might be home alone for a few days. i see nothing but drinking and writing between checking out porn and sports.

enjoy that visual. go out and have a great weekend. enjoy it before (fill in the blank)...

what else could go wrong

simply imagine my joy when i'm on the computer and suddenly the internet goes out. add to that the telephone going out as well. thankfully, i wasn't in the middle of typing up poems or watching porn, i was only reading some news. but, you can really imagine how much fun i had when the internet finally came back on, 6 HOURS later. fuck me. i got what shit i could do offline done in the afternoon (bank, post office). and, like usual, once i started doing shit around the house, boom, the fucker comes back on. i learned that trick at the farm. if i ever wanted the phone to ring or someone to knock on the door after i've been waiting for hours, go take a shit. it never fails.

so, once all the updates that didn't happen got over with and i got through the 72 emails i had... today turned into what i wanted it to be... poetry day. i sent out 19 poems today, 5 each to Your One Phone Call and Hiram Poetry Review, 3 each to Dead Snakes, Raw Dog Press and Pink Litter. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

the light by my computer is dying, so it's sort of like typing in the dark at the moment. good times.

enjoy some music:

Big Brother went as i thought it would last night. i fully expect Jeff to get evicted tonight. as for wrestling, i didn't watch much of ROH. i had already seen it. NXT was really, really good. the main event between Sasha Banks and Charlotte was great:
but the winner of the night for me was Lucha Underground. if you haven't hopped aboard this train, do so NOW. it is shaping up to be an awesome fucking ride:

there was also plenty of funny shit last night as well:

tonight on the DVR will be Big Brother, an incredible episode of Lip Sync Battle that i fear will be one of those things you can't clean from your brain EVER, Married and the new show Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.

as for now, i'm going to go eat dinner and enjoy what is left of a sunny, hardly any humidity at all, slight breeze, but, as usual, TOO MANY FUCKING LAWNMOWERS running, day. if i had the money, i would turn the whole fucking lawn into a putting green that would NEVER be mowed. the problem is all the elderly fuckers around here play golf and i'm pretty sure someone would peek through my windows and watch me masturbate. much to their horror, that wouldn't make me stop.

enjoy that visual boys and girls, i have more emails to catch up on.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
