overslept, for once...

i think i got nearly 6 hours of sleep last night. not sure how that happened. i did write 5 poems last night. 4 for the book and 1 for the general pile. i also need to come up with a title for the book. if anyone has any suggestions, i'd love to hear them.

the New York Rangers won last night at Las Vegas, 2-1. i certainly didn't expect that victory.

i did watch a good portion of both NFL playoff games yesterday. i'm sure i will watch most of all 3 today.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night.

AEW was ok last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Agency and Dexter: Original Sin.

so, Manchester United and Arsenal are 1-1 in extra time of their FA Cup match today. United is down to 10 men, so i'm not looking forward to the rest of this.

i am looking forward to the NFL games today. Denver at Buffalo, Packers at Eagles and Washington at Tampa Bay.

at some point today, i will probably doing my laundry.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

turning over to sleet...

it started off as rain this morning. by the time i was driving to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription, it had turned over to sleet. at least it wasn't really causing any problems here. i know some other roads around here had crashes on them. it is that time of year again...

Rite Aid wasn't that busy. i got my prescription and some stuff mom needed and came back home. what kills me is i got a text from Rite Aid 2 hours later saying i had 2 more prescriptions to pick up. since i don't need them right now, i think those will be picked up on Monday.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Saint Louis, 5-2.

NJPW was really good last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Duquesne. the game is on ESPN2.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning before the Rangers play at Washington.

i guess New England has a new coach.

so does Alabama.

i helped mom put up a towel ring in the other bathroom here. since it didn't come with the screw to use, we had to improvise. and doing that while it is raining and arthritis is raging, joy... but, after i watched a YouTube video, i figured out what we were doing wrong and got it up pretty quickly. after that, i had a bunch of boxes to break down and put in the recycling.

i guess it is going to get really fucking cold this weekend. hope everyone stays warm.

what a night...

so late last night, the Spanish princess finally gave me her number. i was pleasantly shocked that she said she was into me now. now, i just need to figure out a way to eliminate all the miles between us and hope that we have the same amazing chemistry in person that we do online.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

Name That Tune was really good last night.

the season finale of Hard Knocks last night was very good.

the New York Knicks won last night at home against Indiana, 119-113.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Dallas.

i have to take mom to her doctor's appointment this afternoon. it has been raining all morning, so i'm hoping that will be gone by the time i have to drive her there.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i know it is supposed to get colder tonight. joy.

i did win one of my bets last night. i have two more going tonight. hopefully, both of those will be winners.

when the wind sounds like a train...

the wind has been fucking wicked around here the last couple of days. there was a radar indicated tornado last night north of us. ever since Memorial Day, this area has been on edge with any kind of storm. thankfully, the wind and rain had moved on by this morning. it was much cooler this morning as well. we ended up with around 1.6 inches of rain.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Saint Louis, 5-2.

i did watch most of the NFL playoff games last night. the 49ers defeated the Vikings, 27-10. and the Titans shocked the Ravens, 28-12. today, the Texans are at the Chiefs and the Seahawks are at the Packers.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be two episodes of The Outsider, Power, Ray Donovan and Shameless.

i am looking forward to NXT UK Takeover:Blackpool II today. it should be good.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

first snow of 2019...

so this was what i woke up to this morning:

we're supposed to get anywhere from 4 to 7 inches. yes, i thought of the same sex joke you just did. i'm waiting for the mail to come before i go out to get the paper. i'm only planning on going out once in this shit.

i'm not a big fan of the snow, although it's better than a damn ice storm.

NJPW was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon at the Islanders. i'm sure the Rangers will lose again. Lose For Hughes boys.

NXT UK Takeover Blackpool is this afternoon. i am really looking forward to see what happens in their first Takeover event.

the NFL playoffs start back up today. the Colts are at the Chiefs and the Cowboys play at the Rams this evening. i will probably watch a good portion of both those games.

other than that, i plan on enjoying the chili i made this morning and watching the fucking snow.

i heard back from Nine Muses Poetry this morning on my recent poetry submission. they decided to pass. oh well.

i will be on here early tomorrow as tomorrow will be a complete clusterfuck.

i hope everyone enjoys their Saturday. if you have snow, be safe and enjoy it.

driving in the rain

it's been some time since i was caught driving in one of these classic Midwestern holy shit storms. but, i was trying to get some shit done today and got caught in a storm that made me laugh. i could barely see anything it was raining so bad. of course, i kept driving. i figured i was on roads i knew like the back of my hand, so i'm good; just slow down. plus, i figured the rain would get all the salt and dirt off of the vehicle. of course, i wasn't planning on another downpour hitting as i was at the takeout window placing an order. that was fun.

i sent out 15 poems today. 6 each to ZYX and Beautiful Losers and 3 to Yellow Mama. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.

after i left the post office, i was on a mission to find some cheap picture frames. i only found 2 of the 5 i needed, so i guess a trip to a craft store is coming up soon. mom wanted me to get some cash out of her account. thankfully her bank has an ATM in the next town over. that's way better than driving 20 miles out into the sticks to get the money.

the arthritis in these rain storms is almost a dull ache anymore. what that tells me is my pain tolerance is still top notch. of course, it's not fun when the arthritis is bad enough that typing and writing is a fucking chore.

i was really looking forward to the Dayton Flyers game last night. they were getting back their best player and was playing at a place they haven't won in the regular season since 2004; the perfect time for revenge. instead, Dayton went out and played like absolute shit. foul trouble, turnovers, stupid fucking decisions, more turnovers, did i mention turnovers? (Dayton had 19 turnovers in the game). that all lead to a 67-55 loss to UMass that never really felt that close. Dayton plays again on Saturday at Duquesne, so hopefully they get this bad taste out of their mouth quickly. the A10 is full of landmines this season, and Dayton just hit one last night.

the mid-season finale of Lucha Underground had a few holy shit moments last night. the show comes back in the summer.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch The Revival wrestle #D.I.Y. all day long and never get bored.

Total Divas was fucking ridiculous as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Life in Pieces, Fuck, That's Delicious, Lip Sync Battle and Caraoke Showdown.

i guess my sister's job interview went well this morning. she's supposed to hear back by next week if she's got the job or not. i think she wants it as i don't think she wants to be unemployed too long. i believe her financial planner is thinking the same thing.

i know i have to go to the grocery store tomorrow as i have my own pills to pick up. plus, since there's a damn ice storm coming Friday night, it should be a shit show of panicky motherfuckers buying groceries like the world is coming to an end. i'll be in the liquor store, that's for sure.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

almost felt good to shovel snow again, almost...

we got a couple of inches of snow overnight, along with some wind. the firefighter that lives on our street comes by and cleans off the driveways and sidewalks. he usually does that in the morning. the wind didn't stop until this afternoon, when something called the sun came out. so, before that thing called the sun went back down, i shoveled the driveway and got the trash out. it felt good to get some cold air into the lungs and work up a little bit of a sweat. and thankfully, i didn't slip and fall on my ass.

but, mom and i decided we didn't want to fuck around with the ice and cold tonight, so we're not going to the Dayton Flyers basketball game. i imagine if it wasn't on tv, we would be going though.

i was interested to see how Manchester United would play today. when they got up 2-0 on Newcastle, i was thinking things were going to be good. silly me. when a great goal from Wayne Rooney (his second of the game) put them up 3-2, i was thinking they would win. silly me. sure, a 3-3 draw on the road is better than a loss to yet another team fighting relegation, but it certainly doesn't feel good. this is quickly turning into another season of what could have been.

Monday Night Raw was decent last night up until the main event. i enjoyed Kalisto winning the US title and the ongoing war between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose. but, they buried Roman Reigns once again by showing that he couldn't beat Kevin Owens as easily as the average fan thinks he could. by the end of the match, Roman was getting booed and Kevin was getting cheers. now, if they are planning on putting the title on KO, i'm all for it, but i highly doubt that's happening. and then to have Brock Lesnar come out and destroy everyone, including the champion, it was just too fucking obvious to make much sense. what could have been a really good show ends up feeling mediocre because of a shitty main event. thankfully, the Stone Cold Podcast with my favorite wrestler of all-time, Ric Flair, was really good. i love those old stories of him and Dusty Rhodes. that was on the WWE Network.

the New York Rangers did something last night they hadn't done all season. they came from behind in the third period and actually won for a change. a HUGE 2-1 victory over Boston that will hopefully get the ball rolling in the right direction once again.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

if that really is the final picture of David Bowie, that might make me happy for years to come. as one person wrote today, his death was like his life, a work of art.

instead of watching the State of the Union tonight i will be watching the Dayton Flyers take on Davidson. this is a must win game for Dayton after that last loss to a shitty LaSalle team. plus, since they are at home, they really need to win.

i ordered myself a webcam last night off of Amazon.com. after cashing in some codes and whatnot, i got a $100 camera for a little more than $6. it should be here around my birthday. hopefully it works well enough that i can start doing more videos and maybe even get my lazy ass on Skype.

it is supposed to get down to the single digits tonight, so i'm very interested to see how the furnace runs tonight.

that's all for me today. i hope this finds everyone warm and realizing they still have time to send me a birthday gift.

and sometimes the whole body just aches...

hello again world. so, after yet another night of 3 hours of restless sleep (i mostly remember just tossing and turning and popping my left shoulder countless number of times) i'm back at it. i'm still trying to wrap my head around the end of the Saints game yesterday, but more on that later.

i typed up the 3 poems i wrote the other day at 6 this morning. i think they are pretty good, which probably means they are really good as i'm cranky and really feeling the pain today. i imagine i'll do my birthday submission here in a few days and these poems will be part of it.

got all the other shit i had to do around the house done without waking up my mother. that included changing out the water filters in the cellar. that 40 lbs. of salt didn't feel real good this morning. but, good thing i learned at a young age to find the pleasure in the pain.

cats are fed and the trash is down to the end of the lane. hopefully mother nature decides to not blow it over like 2 weeks ago. so, i'm in the house for the rest of the day... hopefully getting some sleep during the playoff games. tonight is a crazy night for me on television. all of this is roughly going on at the same time. the New York Rangers play a huge division game against the Flyers tonight. the Golden globes are on tonight. probably my favorite award show. and then, all the Sunday shows start tonight on HBO and Showtime. True Detective is the new show i'm really looking forward to. and then there are Girls, Shameless, House of Lies, and Episodes. another long night is in store. but, if i'm not going to sleep, i might as well...

ROH was excellent last night. the match between Chris Hero and Kevin Steen was top notch, as i expected. hopefully i'll get to see all of them when they come to town in a few months.

the ending of the New Orleans Saints playoff game against Seattle still has me shaking my head. the Saints did absolutely nothing in the first half, other than a few big mistakes. finally in the 4th quarter the offense started to click. i thought they would struggle in the game, but not for that long. the defense played as well as i thought they could last night. Brees throws a TD to Colston that set up the onside kick, that the Saints recovered!!!! but what i can't get my head around is why with 8 seconds left, Colston didn't get out of bounds to set up a final play in the end zone. instead, he throws a forward pass that ends the game. i'm not saying they would have converted on the final play and tied the game and eventually won in OT. i just would have liked to see them have the chance. Saints lose 23-15.

that's all for me. i have a Sunday paper to read and a heating pad to hopefully help me either sleep or not feel as much pain. if you see another post from me today it will be out of frustration and a call for drugs.

hope everyone is doing better than i am. be well. take it easy, and then take it again.

before my internet crashes again...

first off, let me thank Frontier Communications for absolutely nothing. i just love when a tech tells you "well, we're going to try this but I don't think it will do anything." what a piece of shit company.

so i'm trying to type as fast as i can to get this fucker posted before the internet vanishes into thin air like this morning. nothing quite like waiting 30 minutes for 1 email to open. high speed internet for sure.

but, in my anger last night over the situation, i did crank out 3 poems. not quite sure why i'm writing in groups of 3 at the moment, but oh well. i typed them up earlier today and like them. i'm figuring an early July submission on those.

i did watch the guy walk across the Grand Canyon last night. i laughed when he prayed nearly 3/4 of the whole way across. i looked at my mother and said if he falls, atheists will have all the ammunition they will ever need. pretty ballsy doing the stunt in jeans.

tonight will be a mix of game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final and Monday Night Raw. both should be pretty damn good.

we might have got almost 2 minutes of drizzle today. not exactly what i was hoping for. we need a good decent rainfall, and quickly. these hot, dry days are surely using up all the water from the spring. other than that, the crops look about 100000000000000000000% better than last year at this time.

i take my truck in tomorrow and have a deposit to make at the bank. i guess the bank is going to have to wait.

a quick shout out to the muse. if you happen to read this you'll understand why i haven't returned your call yet. i do hope you are doing well.

peace and chicken grease.

a little story about life on the farm, etc.

so, last night i go to check to see if the back door is locked. i happen to look out the window and see a black cow about 4 feet from the door eating on some weeds. i go to get my mother and tell her "You've gotta fucking see this." She looks out the window and sees nothing, i'm thinking great, i'm having an acid flashback. i hit the outside flood lights and she says "Oh shit!" and flings open the back door. 2 cows and a steer. i go get a flashlight and get all the outside lights on. a phone call and some careful walking in the dark by smell and as far as i know, the cows were back on the farm next door. drenched in sweat, i went upstairs to find a fan and flip between Ring of Honor and Cinemax.

there's a little slice of life in the sticks.

hard to think it's already July 1. but, today is christmas for sports junkies.

NHL and NBA free agency starts.
Old Timer's Day at Yankee Stadium.
EURO 2012 final (My heart says Spain, my gut says Italy, i really just want to be entertained.)

i see a nice long day with the a/c and my chair watching some tv. racing to the computer to confirm some rumors and then a rest period on the shitter. hopefully i won't end up bored out of my mind. hype is such a double edged sword at times.
