almost felt good to shovel snow again, almost...

we got a couple of inches of snow overnight, along with some wind. the firefighter that lives on our street comes by and cleans off the driveways and sidewalks. he usually does that in the morning. the wind didn't stop until this afternoon, when something called the sun came out. so, before that thing called the sun went back down, i shoveled the driveway and got the trash out. it felt good to get some cold air into the lungs and work up a little bit of a sweat. and thankfully, i didn't slip and fall on my ass.

but, mom and i decided we didn't want to fuck around with the ice and cold tonight, so we're not going to the Dayton Flyers basketball game. i imagine if it wasn't on tv, we would be going though.

i was interested to see how Manchester United would play today. when they got up 2-0 on Newcastle, i was thinking things were going to be good. silly me. when a great goal from Wayne Rooney (his second of the game) put them up 3-2, i was thinking they would win. silly me. sure, a 3-3 draw on the road is better than a loss to yet another team fighting relegation, but it certainly doesn't feel good. this is quickly turning into another season of what could have been.

Monday Night Raw was decent last night up until the main event. i enjoyed Kalisto winning the US title and the ongoing war between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose. but, they buried Roman Reigns once again by showing that he couldn't beat Kevin Owens as easily as the average fan thinks he could. by the end of the match, Roman was getting booed and Kevin was getting cheers. now, if they are planning on putting the title on KO, i'm all for it, but i highly doubt that's happening. and then to have Brock Lesnar come out and destroy everyone, including the champion, it was just too fucking obvious to make much sense. what could have been a really good show ends up feeling mediocre because of a shitty main event. thankfully, the Stone Cold Podcast with my favorite wrestler of all-time, Ric Flair, was really good. i love those old stories of him and Dusty Rhodes. that was on the WWE Network.

the New York Rangers did something last night they hadn't done all season. they came from behind in the third period and actually won for a change. a HUGE 2-1 victory over Boston that will hopefully get the ball rolling in the right direction once again.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

if that really is the final picture of David Bowie, that might make me happy for years to come. as one person wrote today, his death was like his life, a work of art.

instead of watching the State of the Union tonight i will be watching the Dayton Flyers take on Davidson. this is a must win game for Dayton after that last loss to a shitty LaSalle team. plus, since they are at home, they really need to win.

i ordered myself a webcam last night off of Amazon.com. after cashing in some codes and whatnot, i got a $100 camera for a little more than $6. it should be here around my birthday. hopefully it works well enough that i can start doing more videos and maybe even get my lazy ass on Skype.

it is supposed to get down to the single digits tonight, so i'm very interested to see how the furnace runs tonight.

that's all for me today. i hope this finds everyone warm and realizing they still have time to send me a birthday gift.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

surviving the heat

it rained like it was the end of the world this morning. in my utopia, that would cool things down. instead, here in hell, it warmed everything up. nothing quite like wearing the humidity. and since i'm a true asshole, i wore all black today.

i took mom to get her driver's license renewed. after that, she wanted to go eat. we went to my favorite sports bar. after that, we had some things we needed to get at Meijer, Kroger, etc. that started the adventure of shopping in the fucking heat. holy shit, it was hot. and since i knew i would have a ton of email when i got back home (76), i bought myself some alcohol. i've been wanting to buy some Jagermeister for awhile now. so, imagine my joy when i find a bottle that comes with a flask for $23. done deal. let's just say my intake of alcohol is going to go up from now until i die probably.

enjoy a quick music break as i prepare my thoughts on last night:

the Money in the Bank ppv last night was excellent. it started off with a very touching tribute to Dusty Rhodes:
after that, i knew everyone would put on a show worthy of the Dream. and they did. i did not enjoy that Kevin Owens lost to John Cena. i did enjoy Kevin beating the shit out of Cena after Cena's bullshit you belong here, great job, blah blah blah. i imagine they will wrestle again at SummerSlam. if so, hopefully Kevin destroys him for good. the main event of the evening was top notch. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose put on a show. these two are part of the reason why i am so high on the future of pro wrestling. all in all, a really good show:

we had some storms roll through here last night. that of course fucked up most of everything i was recording on the DVR. so, since i was running on high after wrestling, i just stayed up and watched everything. Nurse Jackie was really good. Happyish was great once again. Penny Dreadful was brilliant as usual. the season finale of Silicon Valley was hilarious. the season of Veep was great. i would love to see some political chaos like that in this country again. and once again, Last Week Tonight hit another out of the park:

the New York Yankees won yesterday 5-3 to avoid the sweep in Baltimore. they are playing down in Miami as i am writing this. hopefully they can start another WINNING streak going.

tonight i will be sort of flipping between baseball, the Stanley Cup Final, Monday Night Raw and god knows what else. mostly, i just want to sit back and enjoy the fucking air conditioning.

in the mail today i got a copy of Only The Dead by Wolfgang Carstens and Janne Karlsson. it is fucking amazing. i highly urge you to check it out. you can find more on it by going here:

or by going here:

that's all for me today. i hope everyone had a great weekend. hope you are dealing with the heat better than i am.

the American Dream is gone

i had a whole blog planned today about the closing of the sale of the farm, finding out how much my truck sold for, etc, etc, and then right before it was time to leave to go the lawyer's office i got the news. being a pro wrestling fan since basically my birth, when a wrestler dies that i grew up on, it's like losing a family member. and when i heard today that Dusty Rhodes was dead, that one shook me to my foundation. if anyone is responsible for me being mesmerized by pro wrestling, it's Dusty Rhodes. one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time. one of the greatest promo men of all-time. today is truly a sad one for me. here's some videos of one of the greatest of all-time:
this next one is the moment where i became a wrestling fan until the day i die:
goodbye Dream, you will be missed. may you rest in peace.

a quick music break so i can get some tissues and get my thoughts together:

the farm is gone now. mom signed all the papers today. got 2 nice fat checks since 2 brothers are buying it. we also found out what went for what at the second auction. in a true HOLY SHIT moment, i found out my piece of shit truck sold for $2,100. and here i was hoping for $50. needless to say, my bank account is going to look much better when i get that money in 8 days. i think both my mom and i are at peace with the decision to sell off the farm. it will certainly hold a memory in my life for the rest of my time here on earth.

my new dvd player decided to fuck up last night. and since i am a relative retard when it comes to technology, i went a little fucking crazy over it. eventually, after unplugging all the wrong things first, i unplugged a cord in the back of it and plugged it back in and it rebooted itself and all is fine again. of course, unplugging the wrong shit fucked up all the shit i was recording on the DVR, so it became a long night last night.

i didn't watch any of ROH. i already knew what happened and i know it was a great episode.

i gave TNA another chance last night. other than the two Kurt Angle matches, nothing really floated my boat:

NXT was good last night. Becky Lynch is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Tyler Breeze should get called up immediately to the main roster. and you can never go wrong with a main event involving Samoa Joe (with Kevin Owens on commentary):

but, the winner (once again) from last night, was Lucha Underground. i really loved the action from last night. enjoy some highlights:

earlier in the day, the New York Yankees lost 5-4 in extra innings. they pissed away a 4-2 lead. that stopped their winning streak. and then i found out after the game, they put their closer on the disabled list with forearm stiffness. maybe if the manager wouldn't use him so fucking much in non-save situations... oh well. they are thankfully off tonight. they start a series tomorrow at Baltimore.

in some truly amazing news, team USA beat Germany yesterday 2-1. now, i know it was just a friendly. and i know Germany didn't have all their best players playing. but, still. the USA beat Germany in Germany for the first time EVER. enjoy some goals:
ladies and gentlemen, Bobby Fucking Wood:
not bad to score the winners against the Netherlands and Germany in a span of five days.

time for another break:

the weather here has been fucking atrocious. just hot as fuck. and my mother doesn't do well in the heat anymore because of her Meniere's disease. so, i'm hoping to be inside for the rest of the evening. nothing like it being 89 degrees when the sun is getting ready to set. fuck me.

tonight on the DVR will be The Comedians. i will probably watch that sometime after the NBA Finals tonight. i will watch most of that game, unless i have a sudden need for a nap.

tomorrow is going to be a busy one. my new chair comes finally. that should really help with my bad back and my arthritis. i also need to hit the bank tomorrow to deposit a check from shitty Frontier Communications. and i also need to hit the post office. it's supposed to be hot and stormy tomorrow. just great.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone is in a cool place, enjoying a drink or something else resting between their legs.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
