welcome to the madness...

so, today started off with nothing but rain and wind. i got almost 4 hours of sleep last night yet still managed to get my mother to her doctor's appointment on time this morning. that went pretty well. my mother's blood pressure is fucked at the moment, so she will be probably starting some new meds soon. joy.

NXT was good last night.

AEW was great last night, especially the main event.

the New York Rangers whipped the shit out of Philadelphia last night, 9-0.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

The Masked Singer was fucking crazy once again.

i decided to watch the Manchester United before writing this. i'm glad i did. United defeated AC Milan 1-0 to advance in the Europa League. Paul Pogba came off the bench to start the second half and scored 3 minutes later. if he can stay healthy the rest of the season, that should help.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, two episodes of The Unicorn, Desus & Mero and Cake. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on either Peacock or WWE Network.

the USMNT under 23's are playing Costa Rica as i'm typing this. they are up 1-0. this is part of the Olympic qualifying that the USA really needs badly. they haven't been to the Olympics since 2008. hopefully, they will win. (thankfully, they just won, 1-0)

the First Four started today. i will probably watch some of the games. i picked Gonzaga to win it all. i really couldn't care if they do or not.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i know mom has physical therapy coming around noon tomorrow. it will probably be sometime after that or early in the morning.

i have dinner to go make, so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

testing my patience...

i like to be alone when i shop, especially given the times we are living in. and while i am a pretty patient person, i have my limits. at the grocery store today, this elderly woman was in her own fucking world. no mask on, searching for some kind of bacon. she moved away and i went in to get some breakfast sausage that i had been waiting 3 minutes to get. before i could even open the door to get the sausage, she got back in front of me to look yet again. i should have started coughing at that point. the store was out of a few things. i'm sure it was because the elderly had ransacked the damn place this morning. all in all, between the 3 stores i went to, i got most of what was on the list. i know i have pills to pick up later this week, so i'm going to try to find the other stuff then. i kept everything under $150, which i was pretty happy about.

The Voice was good last night. everyone that made the final 5 is worthy of being in the finals.

Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night. the show was about my favorite tag team of all time, The Road Warriors. next week is the season finale.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbpZbhnN51w

WWE Backstage was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, The Masked Singer and What We Do in the Shadows.

once it warmed up today, it was pretty nice out. i was able to turn the furnace off this afternoon and open up the house some. of course, it's supposed to fucking rain tonight.

i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. i want to get some writing done at some point tonight or in the morning.

i finally have discovered the band Jinjer. i know i'm late to the party, but holy shit am i in love... so, expect to see plenty of their music in the blog for the next few weeks or so.

that's all for me kids.

stay healthy.

wash your fucking hands...

doing my best on 4 hours of sleep...

i decided to be an adult last night and actually check my email before i went to bed. what that actually meant was i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i laughed and said watch, i'll be up at 9. sure enough, the fucking phone woke me up at exactly 9 this morning. i guess i manifested that into existence. i got a little nap in when i was icing my back, but 20 minutes didn't exactly fill me full of energy. it's been one of those days where i can't seem to get out of my own way, if you know what i mean.

i did do a little poetry work today. i know where my next 16 poems are going to go. i will hopefully get those out tomorrow.

the New York Yankees defeated Baltimore last night 9-4. they will go for a sweep later this evening.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

Hard Knocks was very good last night. it's beyond obvious that Gruden is there for the money and is a character of his former self now.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i already watched NXT UK earlier this afternoon. it was really good, as usual.

i have avoided the news for most of the day. the asshole that thinks he's king was here today for a photo op with the victims of the mass shooting. and of course, since the mayor of Dayton is a Democrat, he had to talk shit about her after he left. i'm sure he'll get a bigger fuck you when he gets to El Paso, Texas.

what truly boggles my mind is the shooter in Dayton was one of the armed protesters when the KKK had a rally in Dayton earlier in the year. given that he showed up with what certainly looks like the gun he used in the mass shooting, no one thought that maybe we need to keep an eye on this guy? given all the fucking surveillance we have in this country, and he wasn't on any radar at all? i love all the excuses when something that could have been avoided slips through the cracks.

i'm off to my massage chair, hoping i get a little sleep before the Yankees play.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the poems sent out. given my arthritis and pinched nerve, that's going to be a fun morning.

until tomorrow kids...

a drive through hell...

i had to get out of the house today. i wanted mom to come along, but her back was really bothering her. i needed to go to Meijer to more or less restock the house with some cleaning supplies. after that, i drove through Trotwood, at least part of it, to see how bad it really was. as the title states, it was a drive through hell. i didn't try to go back into the neighborhood i grew up in. i didn't have the stomach for it. the bank i go to looked like it had the roof badly damaged, so i know it won't be open anytime soon. i know they upgraded the tornado to an EF4 that hit the town. it certainly looked like it. fuck me.

mom wanted a frozen drink from Burger King. thankfully, the new one that is closest to the house was open again.

after i got home and had lunch, i took a nap. i didn't sleep much last night, and i highly doubt i will tonight either.

Liverpool won the Champions League yesterday, 2-0. that's the last fucking time i want to think about it.

a little poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Darren at Parhelion Literary Magazine on my poetry submission from back in March. they decided to pass. well, that's 5 more for me to choose from for the upcoming submissions.

the New York Yankees won again last night over Boston, 5-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

here are your highlights from Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final:

NXT Takeover 25 was excellent last night. honestly, everything they do in NXT and NXT UK for that matter is light years ahead of what is on Raw and Smackdown.

Bad Times at the El Royale was brilliant. i have to agree with the one review that said this movie will become a cult classic. i loved the jump cuts and just how brutal some of the scenes were. plus, one of my favorite lines i will use for the rest of my life from Jeff Bridges... "shit happens, get the whiskey"

ROH was good last night.

we had some thunderstorms roll in last night. i figure that is part of the reason why i didn't sleep well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, Axios, Our Cartoon President, Billions and The Chi.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i will probably watch some of that.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday has been even better.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i don't think mom has anything until Tuesday, so maybe tomorrow becomes laundry day.

you can't remember what a good day is anymore...

my fog of depression and pain lifted for a few hours yesterday. i was able to get my laundry done, so that's a plus. but, when you spend most of the day watching golf and tennis hoping to take a nice long nap and that doesn't happen... what the fuck. thankfully, most of the Sunday night shows kept me interested.

the New York Yankees play a doubleheader today in Detroit, they have a game in the afternoon and another this evening. hopefully, they can win both games. honestly, i'm just hoping they don't have to deal with anymore fucking games postponed due to rain.

here are your highlights from Game 2 of the NBA Finals last night:

Billions was excellent last night. the season finale next week looks like it will be amazing.

I'm Dying Up Here was great last night. it was probably the best show of the season so far.

Westworld was amazing last night. best show on television right now.

Succession was very good last night. i think i will enjoy this series.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

Total Bellas was good last night.

Drop the Mic was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i will probably check out some of that at some point tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her appointment with her back doctor. i get the feeling she's going to need some more injections for her spinal stenosis.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

too old for games...

i'm not exactly sure why this shit keeps happening to me or why people like to poke the bear, so to speak. at the age of 42, i'm still getting fucking messages from people pretending to be someone else and then doing a piss poor job of trying to tell me they aren't fucking scamming me. i'm just too fucking old for these games. so, i suppose either i will find someone who will end this damn misery for me or maybe death comes first. the saga continues.

the season finale of The X-Files last night was crazy. i'm a little torn given some of the deaths. plus, if this was the final show ever, there are so many open holes that there truly is no sense of closure. of course, that's probably a metaphor for our lives.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch Gargano and Ciampa go at each other forever and never get bored.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. below is the link:
Suri - As I Am

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Atlanta and Lip Sync Battle.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

the NCAA tournament starts back up tonight. i will probably watch some of the games tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Philadelphia. hopefully they will lose again tonight.

i need to get ready to take mom to her physical therapy. after we get done with that, we're going to go have lunch. then, it will be the sad final trip to Toys R Us to see what the hell is still there. i'm not getting my hopes up of finding anything good.

plus, i am bringing my little notebook with me, so i will hopefully have a nice writing session in the waiting room of the physical therapy office once again.

squeezing the marrow out of life...

today has been a pretty busy one. tonight should be just as busy. so, here's a half ass attempt to recap what has gone on so far...

i wrote 8 poems between last night and today. i typed those up between doctor's appointments for mom. i do like a few of the poems. i'm pretty sure that puts me at over 30 poems for the month. so, that's a goal to cross off.

mom's physical therapy went well today, i guess. we went to lunch at Applebee's after that. her visit to the eye doctor went well. nothing is detached. and nothing looks any different than before. so, she just has harmless floaters in her left eye.

NXT was pretty good last night. i'm really looking forward to Takeover: Philadelphia on Saturday.

Total Divas was pretty good as well last night.

The X-Files was fucking great last night.

Mosaic was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Mosaic and Lip Sync Battle.

the New York Rangers play tonight out in San Jose. i'm hoping they end their fucking losing streak tonight.

i woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat. i figure i'm probably coming down with a cold. figures. i read the stories of people dying from the flu with envy. good times.

i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. that way i can watch Manchester United play in the FA Cup and then go to the grocery store and not feel like i need to rush back and get a blog done before the weekend hits.

a day where the child in me gets to smile

now, i am not as big of a baseball fan as i was when i was a child. today being opening day was a big fucking deal in my youth. now, it's more of... oh yeah, there's a baseball game on. i do love that the New York Yankees have gone with a youth movement. i will check them out just to see how the kids are doing. and who knows, if they actually get some pitching, they might even win.

the other thing today that makes the child in me get excited is WrestleMania. this will be the 33rd straight one i will watch. knowing that a friend will be involved in the pre-show is cool. and knowing that this is the one show every year that doesn't disappoint me... i am excited for it.

now, they will have their work cut out for them as NXT Takeover: Orlando last night was amazing. the triple threat tag team elimination match is an early candidate for match of the year in all of pro wrestling. it was an instant classic. and i do have to think that Nakamura losing to Bobby Roode again means that Shinsuke is being called up either on Monday or Tuesday. i will mark out like a fucking kid when that happens.

ROH last night was really good.

the Final Four games yesterday were really good as well. i was happy to finally see some close games on a big stage. the final game will be Gonzaga vs. North Carolina on Monday. they were both teams i thought could win it all before the tournament started. so, at least i got something fucking right in this tournament.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Little Lies, Girls, Crashing, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Billions and Feud: Bette and Joan.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Philadelphia. i won't be watching.

i will be watching WrestleMania for most of the evening. the pre-show starts at 5 and i think the main show will be over sometime around 11.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

i just love some chaos

chaos seems to be a constant theme in this country lately. yesterday, college football decided to get into it. with 3 of the top 4 losing, that means Ohio State will most likely be 2nd in the country. that also means they could be in the awkward position of winning out, not making the Big 10 championship game and still making the Final 4 of college football. ah, fucking chaos.

Ohio State whipped Maryland yesterday 62-3. it was the first time Ohio State ever scored 60 or more points in back to back weeks.

Pittsburgh defeated #2 Clemson on a last second field goal. Iowa did the same to #3 Michigan. and USC defeated #4 Washington last night. 2 of those victories were on the road, even more impressive. now, the funny thing is if Ohio State and Penn St. both win out, Penn St. advances to the Big 10 championship game because of their victory over Ohio State. but, i would think Ohio St. would still be #2 in the polls, so i could honestly see them still making the playoffs for all of college football. chaos, so beautiful.

the New York Rangers got back to winning last night, defeating Calgary 4-1. they got goals from all 4 lines. i love how fucking deep this team is. they play again tonight at Edmonton.

Saturday Night Live was fucking great last night. Dave Chappelle was as funny as i can ever remember him. A Tribe Called Quest was excellent as well. i thought all the sketches were hilarious. it's definitely an episode i'll keep on the DVR.

ROH was great last night.

Austin City Limits was really amazing last night. 2 of my favorite musical acts going; My Morning Jacket and Ben Harper. the episode was so damn good i watched it again this morning.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Divorce, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, Shameless and Masters of Sex.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against Denver. if they can pull out a victory, they will greatly increase their chances of actually making the playoffs this season.

i might actually do a little writing today and figuring out where the next batch of poems will be going to.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

today we find out just how stupid people really are

i haven't voted in an election since i was 18 years old. i went through the whole process of getting registered and then voted and then quickly realized that it doesn't matter. now, local shit, it probably does matter. but in the grand scheme of things, this world is controlled by the powers that be. i am interested to see what happens in Ohio today. one issue gets marijuana legal in this state. another issue makes it illegal. if both pass, which is what i think will happen because i live in a state of fucking idiots, then the issue ends up in the courts. and nothing good comes out of the court system. and sadly, if pot does become legal in this state, i won't get to enjoy it since my mother is allergic to it. and i'm not sure i would give a shit waiting until she dies to finally enjoy it again. i used it mostly in my teenage years. it really helped me sleep and expanded my brain immensely when it came to my writing. but i was also smoking cigarettes at the time, so i don't want to go that route again to mask the smell. decisions, decisions.

Monday Night Raw had all the makings of a great show last night. yet, it somehow managed to just come off as one of those blah blah evenings. oh what could have been...

Gotham was spectacular last night. it is easily one of my favorite shows on television.

The Voice was ok, right up until the ending. the last battle was awesome.
i am looking forward to the live shows.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Muppets, The Voice and Scream Queens.

the New York Rangers face a tough test tonight against Washington. this will be for first place in the division. i will be definitely watching.

Manchester United plays CSKA Moscow today in Champions League action. i really want to believe United will find a way to win at home, but given the way they have been playing lately, i will have to see it to believe it.

the doctor told my uncle yesterday that he does have cancer. he told him it is malignant. but they STILL don't know what kind of cancer it is or what they are going to do with it. i believe he goes to the oncologist tomorrow. hopefully he will get some concrete answers then. i'm still not sure if i'm driving my mother and him to the visit or not. ah, the life of a pro bono chauffeur.

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone is doing better than the person next to you. i'm sure that just got awkward for someone.

who the fuck gets up early on a Saturday

it figures, i was hoping to sleep in today and of course, i was up before 7 in the morning. i think i got close to 5 hours of sleep. i guess that will have to do.

i realized i forgot to do my Flashback Friday yesterday. so, here are two links to some poems from my past. the first, one of many forays into love:
https://asphodelmadness.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/long-legs-and-a-shot-of-jack/
and the second being one of the best poems i have ever written. of course, i wrote it 20 years ago, which i either look at as i have had "it" since the beginning, or my life has been downhill ever since: http://www.myfavoritebullet.com/Campbell_Withdrawn.html

the New York Yankees got their asses handed to them last night, losing 10-1 to the Twins. just one of those nights where they could never get the big hit at the right time. they play again tonight.

NJPW was pretty good last night. i never pass up a chance to watch Nakamura take on Tanahashi. those two never fail to have a great match.

Treehouse Masters last night was really good. i guess the show is popular now as i have seen a few other treehouse shows on other channels. none of them are as good as Treehouse Masters though.

enjoy some music:

now, laugh motherfucker:

Manchester United takes on Barcelona today. i'm really interested to see how the boys stack up against another world class team. of course, i don't think Messi or Neymar are playing, so i'm taking everything that happens today with a grain of salt. but, i will drink if they win.

team USA takes on Panama for 3rd place in the Gold Cup today. as disappointing as playing in this game is, it would be even more disappointing to lose. i'm hoping the team comes out today trying to prove a fucking point.

i guess the fireworks at the community picnic will actually happen tonight. i might just venture outside and watch them, i believe i can do that from the backyard. of course, there's a chance of some thunderstorms to roll in when they are supposed to start. figures.

on the DVR tonight will be Power and ROH.

i'm not sure if i'm going to the store with mom or not. thankfully, the pills i called in last night are ready. that cuts out a second trip to the store.

that's all for me today. hope everyone has a great Saturday. enjoy some sun, some music, some drinks, and some of whatever money can buy.

and 39 years ago today i screamed let me out

today became a birthday of getting shit done. i woke up in a decent enough mood and decided to be a glutton for punishment. i started typing up poems. exactly how any asshole who thinks himself to be a poet should spend his time at 7 in the morning on his birthday. in my utopia, i would be getting a blowjob while eating grapes. in reality, i'm wondering why my fingers don't work as fast on this keyboard.

anywho, i sent 16 poems out today. 3 to The Camel Saloon and 6 each to ZYX and The Stray Branch. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

i deposited my birthday money today at the bank. i also entered the gift card my mother got me for amazon.com. i'm not planning on getting anything from there until the move is complete. but, once that happens, i feel sorry for the postal service. i also got a New Orleans Saints shirt, some comfy house shoes, a Dayton Flyers scarf, and a book about Dayton's run to the Elite 8 last season. all in all, not a bad birthday at all.

mom and i went to the sports bar for my birthday this afternoon. when the waitress found out it was my birthday, she asked if i was turning 21. i laughed and noticed the ring on finger and thought to myself, if only... the drinks were a little stiff, which i certainly didn't mind.

now for the sports last night... the Dayton Flyers were due for a stinker. of course, they chose to play that one on national television after getting ranked in the top 25 for the first time this season. they got whipped in every aspect of the game by Davidson last night, 77-60. and quite honestly, it wasn't that close. but, shit happens. they are still 15-3. they play Richmond at home on Saturday night.

while Dayton was playing like shit, the New York Rangers were following right along. to say i was frustrated was an understatement. thankfully, New York came alive in the 3rd period and got the game to OT. and then, this happened:

what a great fucking way to go into the All-Star break. here are the highlights from the whole game:

tonight i'm planning on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story. i might watch some hockey as well. and then late tonight, i'm going to catch up on some podcasts while eating some birthday cake.

i also got a haircut today. the barber almost didn't recognize me without my goatee. he then asked how old i was. when i told him i turned 39 today, he was stunned. he remembers when my mother brought me in as a child. now, the funny part of this is this may have been the first time we have spoken outside of how do you want this cut in over a decade. after that, we shot the shit about sports for the next 20 minutes or so.

thankfully, my truck started right up today. i hadn't started it for almost a month. of course, i had to put some air in the tires, but it ran great. that takes a huge burden off of my mind.

ok, that's all for me today. i have some birthday cake waiting for me. thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. i truly do appreciate them.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

up early for nothing...

so i checked last night to see what time Manchester United was playing today. i saw that it was much earlier than what i originally thought. so, needless to say, i'm running on a little less than 5 hours of sleep right now.

Manchester United pissed away a few chances in the first half and then hung on for dear life in the second half of a 0-0 draw away at Tottenham. i guess 1 away point is better than none. especially if the goal is to finish the season in the top 4. oh well, not that my bad back could have used that victory beer or anything.

the New York Rangers got me that victory beer last night. Derek Stepan scored all 3 goals (which helps my fantasy team greatly) and the Rangers beat the shitty Devils 3-1. below are some highlights of their 8th straight win:

i did watch a few crazy college football games last night. the basketball games weren't nearly as entertaining.

ROH was excellent last night. the elimination tag team match was great. i love that at least the indies still understand how great tag team wrestling can be.

i did some poetry work last night while i was chatting with the muse. i suppose if i get more rejections than acceptances when i do send out this batch, i'll blame her. i found a couple places that i haven't sent to before. so, i think i'm going to send all this out in the first week of 2015. hopefully i can get the new year off to a bang. plus, that gives me some more time to write some new poems as well.

mom wanted me to watch a YouTube video yesterday that was about the area of Dayton she grew up in. she made a point to point out the house she grew up in. apparently, it never dawned on her or even better, she didn't care to remember, that house was also the house i was molested in as a child. i don't know what made me angrier. the fact she wanted me to watch the video right before the Rangers game was coming on or that it never registered in her head that i might not want to see a video of a place that has some horrific memories in my head. of course, we haven't talked about it, because that's not what dysfunctional families do. as you might imagine, i've been seething with anger for the past 18 hours or so.

today will thankfully be the final game of the New Orleans Saints sorry ass season. i'll watch it simply because i enjoy torturing myself. plus, i'd like to see them actually win again this season. of course, neither the Saints nor Tampa Bay will want to win this game because a loss gives either team a better draft pick next season. so, i'm really looking forward to this shit fest.

other than that, there's a few other games i'll try to watch today. i also have the trash to take care of, cats to feed, and since there are no Sunday night shows on tonight that i usually watch, one long ass shower to take.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after i get back from the doctor. i believe it's just the normal end of the year checkup type shit tomorrow. or, maybe he'll surprise me with a prescription for stronger pain pills. those would go nice with the vodka.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

snow covered roads, a dead cat, and the many things i think about while walking on ice...

when i got up this morning, thankfully the sun was out. it was almost 10 degrees outside. i'm pretty sure it got close to zero last night... i know the wind chill certainly was. an old house can tell you that in a heartbeat. we made it to 21 degrees today as the high. i'm glad we have skipped over 2 months of weather and just went right into January. fuck me running.

i went out to feed the cats today and one of the young ones was dead. this is why i don't name them before they survive a winter out here. i will be very thankful when i no longer have any pets to care for. i didn't like it as a child and i can't say my thoughts have changed as an adult. of course, i'll have to find something else to write poems about. i guess i'll have to start talking to people again. god help me.

the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night, 5-1. what a god awful game to watch. Tampa Bay outplayed them for 60 fucking minutes. thankfully, i had other things to watch. the Rangers play again tomorrow night against the Flyers. hopefully, they will decide to put forth a little effort, unlike last night.

Monday Night Raw was a clusterfuck. i thought a couple of the matches were good but the booking right before a major ppv was shitty, and that's being kind. if Ryback is supposed to be the man once again, then why is Cena putting HHH through a table? it's the little things that this creative staff just pisses away and they can't understand why it makes a difference. the ppv on Sunday is FREE and i'm still not watching it. and what truly sucks is the company has the talent to have some of the greatest shows on Earth. a damn shame.

Gotham was great last night. a nice little twist at the end that made me smile. that should make for some great television for the fall finale next week.

i caught bits and pieces of The Voice last night and this morning on YouTube. nothing truly blew me away so i'm not sure who's going to make the top 10 tonight.

i did enjoy The Roots and Jimmy Fallon filling in for U2 last night. hopefully they do something cool like that each night.

and i managed to stay up late enough to catch Metallica as they begin their week long residency on Craig Ferguson's show.
that was fun to fall asleep to.

tonight i'll be watching The Voice and maybe some college basketball. i suppose i'll try to catch some hockey as well as my fantasy team tries to dig out of the hole that came from last night.

this afternoon i watched Ireland's B team absolutely destroy the USA 4-1. what a fucking waste of an afternoon. that was certainly not how i wanted 2014 to end for them. hopefully the World Cup hangover doesn't last for most of 2015 as well.

we're supposed to get some snow again tomorrow. so i'll probably try to get into town early so i don't have to deal with that shit. they didn't do much at all to the roads out here in the sticks. of course, when i got into town to go to the post office, it was like driving on freshly paved roads. that's certainly one thing i will enjoy moving away from the farm. you know you've been on one too many country roads in your life when the first thing you think when you see snow is turn into the skid.

that's all for me today. hope you are warm wherever you may be. all 3 of you. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

bitter realities...

as i was sitting alone at the Dayton Flyers game, and by alone, i mean i was the only fucking person sitting in the row 3 minutes before the game was getting ready to start, i quickly had a realization that this is exactly how my future is going to be. not a pretty sight, but a realistic one. with that being said, the guy who almost let me get up before he walked in front of me and the kid constantly kicking my seat from behind me is god openly laughing at me. it all makes sense now.

as for the game, it was a sloppy foul fest that resulted in Dayton beating Southern Indiana 96-66. hopefully that's a sign they won't play down to their competition this season. but, i'd love to see the defense get much, much better. they play their first game of the regular season on Friday.

let's get the poetry news out of the way. in the past 12 hours i have heard back from Nerve Cowboy, Pyrokinection and Napalm and Novocain on my poetry submissions from April (NC) and October. all 11 poems have been passed on. i suppose there is my rotten cherry to top off this weekend. well, i suddenly have a new batch of poems to send out.

the New York Rangers lost last night 5-4 to Toronto. thankfully, i didn't see any of the game. they play again tonight against Edmonton at home.

i did get home in time to watch most of the second half of the Ohio State game. to say i was surprised would be a mild understatement. Ohio State whipped Michigan State on the ROAD 49-37. maybe the Buckeyes are ready for the big time once again. i truly enjoyed that victory beer.

i did watch some boxing last night. it was more like watching the elderly get beat for 12 rounds. plus, i stayed up and watched an excellent new episode of ROH. i would love to see them get a big tv deal and really get the exposure they deserve.

Manchester United won 1-0 yesterday against Crystal Palace. Juan Mata scored the winner in the second half. i'd love to say the boys played great but they didn't. of course, with all the damn injuries they have i'm just pleased they got the 3 points for the win.

today is my usual clusterfuck. the New Orleans Saints play in about 45 minutes against the 49ers. i picked against them once again hoping they will win. it's worked the last 2 times. after the first quarter or so, i have to go with my mother and sister to look at houses. needless to say, i'm not happy about that. luckily we're driving separately so you can take a wild guess who will be leaving early. the Rangers play around 6 tonight so i'll get to watch most of that before the Sunday night shows start. The Newsroom starts its final season tonight on HBO. i love that show. also tonight, i believe the season finale of Last Week Tonight airs. over on Showtime i'll be watching Homeland and The Affair. yet another late night for me.

on top of all that, i'm going to try to keep track of my fantasy football and hockey teams. good times. hockey is going pretty good for me this week. as for football, at least i don't have many injuries to worry about this week.

i have fed the cats and the trash is picked up. of course, my back is killing me from cleaning the kitty litter. could that be the excuse that gets me out of looking at houses today? find out tomorrow...

hope everyone is having a good weekend. my mother is improving, thanks for asking. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

i woke up this morning...

and immediately wrote a poem. thankfully, it was a short one or i probably would have shit my pants. i can't remember a time where i have written a poem right away in the morning. and it wasn't something based on a dream or anything like that. i typed it up this afternoon and i like it. i'll probably include it with the next round of submissions.

i guess my mother really likes the house next to her brother's, even though it doesn't have a dishwasher. my sister has already got pre-approved for a loan for it, so i'm guessing she was serious about buying it so we'd have something once we sold the farm. as i told my mother, i don't want to live there but i also know i have no choice in the matter. i think she's making me check it out this coming Saturday before the UD basketball game. i suppose if i like it my only demands will be that i have everything in my room so i'll never have to come out of it. just how i always envisioned how i would live my 40's. good times.

i did pretty well in fantasy football yesterday. i won one match by 72 points. the other i am leading by 14 points but my opponent has two players playing tonight. i don't like my chances.

i did watch most of the highwire shit in Chicago last night. it wasn't as much as a prayer fest as the Grand Canyon one was. there's no way i would have even of thought to try to do the blindfolded one. that was fucking crazy.

Homeland was great last night. i always love unexpected violence. the show definitely went to the 'oh shit' zone last night. i can't wait for next week's episode.

The Affair was really good. that show is perfectly cast.

Last Week Tonight had me laughing once again. that show is fucking brilliant each week.

tonight, the New York Rangers play at home against St. Louis. this will be a really tough game with how injured the Rangers are right now. if they get anything out of this game, i'll be pleasantly surprised.

on top of that tonight, i'll be watching Gotham, The Voice, Monday Night Raw, and later tonight, Men in Blazers. as usual, i'll probably have to rely on YouTube to catch what i miss. at least my mother did say if we move she is planning on getting a DVR. that will make these nights so much easier.

i'm not sure if i'm going to mail out some poems tomorrow or not. it all depends on how pissy i find myself on Election Day. given the assholes this country elects to the government, i'm usually a fucking grouch on the first Tuesday of November.

i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
