welcome to the house of depression...

so mom's health has started to really fuck with her the last couple of days. she tried cooking last night and lets just say it didn't turn out how she was hoping. and i ate as much as i could, but when you get to chicken that isn't cooked and still pink, i had to draw the line. so, of course, mom is depressed today and the weather isn't really fucking helping either of us. it's been raining since this morning. joy.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to poems you should be reading:

The Masked Singer was pretty good last night. i knew who the Banana has been since his first performance.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.

AEW was really good last night.

NXT was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the series finale of Will & Grace, Better Things, Cake, Desus & Mero, Total Bellas and Shelter in Place w/Shane Smith. i will probably watch the first round of the NFL Draft for most of the evening. i already watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was a look back on the great match between Walter and Tyler Bate.

thankfully, i got the newspaper and the mail before it started raining. what i got mom for Mother's Day showed up today. i'm hoping she's going to like what i got her.

mom got her stimulus check in the mail today. neither one of us can figure out why it didn't get directly deposited into her account, like her social security. but, we also both know there is not one competent motherfucker working in the government these days.

so, i think if the weather is better tomorrow, i'm going to take her to the bank to deposit that and then i'm going to swing by the crafts store so she can pick up what she ordered there.

i should be on here sometime after all that is done.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

stay healthy...

the epitome of a brutal loss

the New York Yankees were two outs away last night from an incredible win against one of the best pitchers in baseball and would have been just 3 1/2 games out of the division. instead, an unbelievable home run and some shitty managerial decisions took place and the Yankees lost 3-2 in 10 innings. an absolute brutal loss that has them 5 1/2 games out. thank god i have matured a bit. 10 years ago that would be the kind of loss that would have me up 2 days later still wondering about it. the Yankees start a series with the fucking Mets tonight. hopefully they start to fucking win consistently again.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. the look on Cody's face when he couldn't even lose correctly was priceless.

Power was fucking great last night. another excellent ending.

Ballers was really good last night.

Insecure was fucking fantastic last night.

Last Week Tonight was absolutely hilarious.

The Strain was really good last night.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Twin Peaks was yet another delicious mind fuck. loved the David Bowie flashback.

the season finale of I'm Dying Up Here was excellent last night.

i did watch the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup yesterday. CR7 had a very interesting few minutes. come on as a sub, score an amazing goal, get a yellow card for showing the crowd how many abs you have, get another yellow card (wrongly) for falling down in the box and then push the referee in the back when he shows you the red card. he ended up with a 5 game suspension for just about 20 minutes of action in the game. Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 3-1. the second leg is on Wednesday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and I Hart Food. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

my last load of laundry is in the dryer. the dishes are already done. so, now all i have to do is clean the toilets. joy.

i think i got almost 5 1/2 hours of sleep last night. sadly, i don't think i moved at all. so, waking up this morning, that felt like murder in my joints. hello arthritis, fuck you.

just imagine if the dipshit acting as President would have said what he said today on Saturday. i imagine a good number of people would actually think he was starting to understand what being President actually means. instead, today was simply cleaning up a public relations mess and nothing more. he looked so damn uncomfortable throwing the racists, his people, under the bus. i'm sure all you Trump voters must feel proud.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i'm off to go fold clothes and get ready for dinner.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

trying to break through the clouds...

the skies have looked like it was going to rain buckets all day long. so far, that hasn't happened. but, i would prefer it just fucking rain already and move on. at this point of my life, arthritis = misery.

the ppv last night from the WWE was pretty good. i wished they went a different direction for a few of the outcomes, but other than that, i thought it was a good show. one moment that certainly got my juices going was this:
that was part of the main event. between that and the I Quit match, i think it was very good. the only other match that really caught my eye was this one:
i thought both Ryback and Bray Wyatt looked really good in this match.

i don't know how much of Monday Night Raw i'm going to watch tonight. given that the hockey game and the finals of The Voice will be on that the same time, there's a good chance it's going to end up on the DVR for tomorrow afternoon.

the Sunday night shows were great. Nurse Jackie was good. Happyish is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Penny Dreadful was a great and dark. it was a flashback episode that i'm sure is going to provide all the clues for the next shows. Silicon Valley was great. Veep was good. and finally, Last Week Tonight hit another home run:

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 6-0. thankfully, they are off today before they start a quick two game series in Washington on Tuesday.

the New York Rangers play Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight. i'm hoping they can continue on the roll they are on. i'm expecting tonight's game to be tougher than Game 1.

i'm hoping the performances on The Voice tonight are amazing. i really would love to see Meghan win but i'm pretty damn sure that Sawyer is going to win it.

also on the DVR tonight will be the Late Show with David Letterman. tonight starts the final 3 shows so i figure i better record all of those and keep them for as long as i can.

i did a little poetry work this afternoon. i want to make sure i get some new poems to ZYX so i can also make sure Arnold has my new address.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

a busy boy and the inevitable wait at the post office

i woke up this morning amazingly refreshed. perhaps i should do more drinking right before i go to bed. what could possibly go wrong in that scenario? i got my ass in gear and decided to get all my Christmas cards done today. so, be checking your mail boxes in a few days to see if you're a lucky one or not. my apologies to my friends and fans not in the USA, my poor ass has nothing for you this year. i'm hoping to make up for that next year. and if you think you should have gotten something from me, chances are i don't have your address or you have suddenly found out what i really think of you.

i got to the post office and i must have been the 7th or 8th person in line. god bless the guy behind the counter, he was going as fast as he could go. and, given that most of the customers were elderly, i'm surprised he still has patience left. he must love me. i know exactly how i want the shit shipped and i have cash in hand. amazingly, the last package i was waiting on for Christmas arrived today. so, now all i have is some wrapping of presents to do. i burned my sister's CD this morning, so i can actually take a breath and relax for a few moments. i think i'll do the wrapping later in the week.

i'm trailing in my fantasy football playoff game by 3 points. thankfully, i have a WR going tonight for Chicago. but, i'd love to see New Orleans actually win the game. so, if i can just get 4 points from the guy, i'll be thrilled. if that happens, i advance to the finals.

the Sunday night shows were awesome last night. The Newsroom was a reintroduction to the characters and why we as the audience care about them. it was an excellent series finale. Homeland was fucking crazy once again. i can't wait for the season finale next week. The Affair was amazing last night. the acting was top notch. and the ending was fucking perfect. that season finale next week should be great.

i was able to watch the last 5 minutes of the New York Rangers game last night after the shows ended. apparently, i didn't miss much. the Rangers won 2-0 over Edmonton. that shutout by King Henrik helped me win my fantasy hockey week 8-2. below are some highlights from the game:

tonight is my usual clusterfuck of a Monday. the season finale of The Voice starts tonight. i'm a little interested in seeing what songs they perform to try to win the show. at the same time, Monday Night Raw will be on. they are coming off a ppv that most people didn't like, so tonight should be real interesting. also, i'll be keeping an eye on the Monday Night Football game. i'd love to enjoy a late night victory beer, but i'm not getting my hopes up. later tonight i'm planning on watching the Men in Blazers show as i figure they will have some fun with the Manchester United win from over the weekend.

after all that, hopefully i'll get some sleep. i'll probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the bank. got the first bill from my Christmas shopping today, so this deposit will be a timely one.

that's all for me today. i've got to go make dinner. frozen pizza. lovely. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

bitter realities...

as i was sitting alone at the Dayton Flyers game, and by alone, i mean i was the only fucking person sitting in the row 3 minutes before the game was getting ready to start, i quickly had a realization that this is exactly how my future is going to be. not a pretty sight, but a realistic one. with that being said, the guy who almost let me get up before he walked in front of me and the kid constantly kicking my seat from behind me is god openly laughing at me. it all makes sense now.

as for the game, it was a sloppy foul fest that resulted in Dayton beating Southern Indiana 96-66. hopefully that's a sign they won't play down to their competition this season. but, i'd love to see the defense get much, much better. they play their first game of the regular season on Friday.

let's get the poetry news out of the way. in the past 12 hours i have heard back from Nerve Cowboy, Pyrokinection and Napalm and Novocain on my poetry submissions from April (NC) and October. all 11 poems have been passed on. i suppose there is my rotten cherry to top off this weekend. well, i suddenly have a new batch of poems to send out.

the New York Rangers lost last night 5-4 to Toronto. thankfully, i didn't see any of the game. they play again tonight against Edmonton at home.

i did get home in time to watch most of the second half of the Ohio State game. to say i was surprised would be a mild understatement. Ohio State whipped Michigan State on the ROAD 49-37. maybe the Buckeyes are ready for the big time once again. i truly enjoyed that victory beer.

i did watch some boxing last night. it was more like watching the elderly get beat for 12 rounds. plus, i stayed up and watched an excellent new episode of ROH. i would love to see them get a big tv deal and really get the exposure they deserve.

Manchester United won 1-0 yesterday against Crystal Palace. Juan Mata scored the winner in the second half. i'd love to say the boys played great but they didn't. of course, with all the damn injuries they have i'm just pleased they got the 3 points for the win.

today is my usual clusterfuck. the New Orleans Saints play in about 45 minutes against the 49ers. i picked against them once again hoping they will win. it's worked the last 2 times. after the first quarter or so, i have to go with my mother and sister to look at houses. needless to say, i'm not happy about that. luckily we're driving separately so you can take a wild guess who will be leaving early. the Rangers play around 6 tonight so i'll get to watch most of that before the Sunday night shows start. The Newsroom starts its final season tonight on HBO. i love that show. also tonight, i believe the season finale of Last Week Tonight airs. over on Showtime i'll be watching Homeland and The Affair. yet another late night for me.

on top of all that, i'm going to try to keep track of my fantasy football and hockey teams. good times. hockey is going pretty good for me this week. as for football, at least i don't have many injuries to worry about this week.

i have fed the cats and the trash is picked up. of course, my back is killing me from cleaning the kitty litter. could that be the excuse that gets me out of looking at houses today? find out tomorrow...

hope everyone is having a good weekend. my mother is improving, thanks for asking. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

the silly season

as a sports fan, July 1st is a day that brings new hope, a renewed faith, a true belief that better days are ahead. free agency in the NBA and NHL begin today. this July 1st is a tad more stressful than usual. with the New York Rangers coming off of a trip to the Stanley Cup Final and nearly half of their team is a free agent of some kind, i'm nervous and excited to see what they will do. as a Sacramento Kings fan, i understand that today isn't a day the Kings participate in. maybe one day.

but most of my attention today will be on the USA vs. Belgium. a game that i do believe the USA can win. a game that i hope they will win. this is their best chance to advance to the quarterfinals since 2002. needless to say, i will be completely glued to that game this afternoon. so don't bother to contact me in those 2 hours.

also today Argentina plays Switzerland. a game that i have Argentina advancing, but i wouldn't be shocked if the Swiss make it interesting.

yesterday was another crazy day at the World Cup. France beat Nigeria 2-0 in a game that was much closer than that score. Germany beat Algeria 2-1 in a game that saw all three goals come in extra time. that was a game that i think Germany played with France in mind. they will have to play better if they want to advance again.

that makes me 6 for 6 in my picks. hopefully i end up today 8 for 8.

the Yankees got a home run in the bottom of the 9th to hold off the inevitable for a few innings, ultimately losing 4-3 in 12 innings. this team basically spent 450 million to be one game worse than they were after 81 games last year. this losing is slowly but surely getting to me.

Monday Night Raw was pretty damn good last night. Chris Jericho returned to get beat down by The Wyatt Family. i can't fucking wait to see the battles on the mic between Bray Wyatt and Y2J. those have the chance to be CLASSIC. with AJ Lee coming back last night as well, that gives me a small hope that her husband, CM Punk, may come back as well. overall, a pretty good 3 plus hours.

after i spend all day checking NHL rumors and reports and watching soccer, i will be watching Deadliest Catch and Tyrant tonight. both of those shows are on my favorite list at the moment.

i got an empty SASE in the mail yesterday. i have no fucking clue what was in it, if anything at all was in it. the publisher i believe it may have come from told me last night that it wasn't from him. so, i'm basically at a dead end on this mystery. if anyone reading this knows what i'm talking about, send me an email. my fear is that there were poems and/or an acceptance or rejection note in it. if i somehow find time today, i may dig a little deeper in my records.

that's all for me today. to my fellow Americans, may you enjoy watching the game. and since it doesn't start until 4 in the afternoon, please blow off fucking work a couple hours early. you have my permission.

to everyone else in the world, be creative, be cool, be a guiding light of mischief...

mother nature has it in for me

it started raining like cats and dogs this morning right as i sat down to take the morning shit. and given how my back hates the rain and tends to lock up when it does rain... imagine my joy as i start to wipe. good times.

i'm writing this before the next line of storms hit here. i'm pretty sure we're over an inch of rain. my fear is that we have another inch or so to go. a few spots in the fields tend to flood pretty easily. and i don't think the soybeans or the corn will last through it. i suppose time will tell.

the Yankees pissed away a rare night of good starting pitching by someone not named Tanaka. the offense can't score more than 2 runs. and the over-worked bullpen finally imploded last night. a 5-2 loss in extra innings. not good. thankfully, i will have a great reason not to watch at all this evening.

the New York Rangers play Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight in Los Angeles. i love that they are the underdog and no one is saying they will win. hopefully, they can steal Game 1 and put all the pressure on the Kings. my entire soul will be fixated on this game tonight.

my mother had a conference she needed to attend in Kentucky today. right across the river. she made it down there before it started to rain. hopefully, her drive home won't be a stormy one.

Deadliest Catch was pretty damn good last night.

late last night i sat down and figured out where i'll be sending 21 poems tomorrow. i'll be a typing monkey tomorrow.

a hello to the fucking teen driver who nearly hit me today in her vehicle that probably cost more than my total life earnings. quick piece of advice. try driving WITHOUT TALKING ON THE FUCKING PHONE. as much as i would like a new vehicle, that accident would have been me taking a direct hit. and i don't trust god to just let me die. i'm pretty sure i will have to suffer and survive the crash.

that's all for today. i'm going to go try to stretch out my back and then get ready for the game tonight. hope everyone had a great day. hopefully it isn't a dreary, rainy mess where you live.

peace and chicken grease...
