one of those days where i wish i didn't have to wake up...

and it isn't that i get good sleep, it was just that i had finally fallen to sleep and then it was morning. i didn't feel refreshed but i'm sure i might have got a couple of hours of really deep sleep. and quite honestly, that is fucking rare for me anymore.

Manchester United won yesterday at Newport, 4-2, in the FA Cup. when it got tied up 2-2, i was fearing the worst. thankfully, that didn't happen.

i did watch both NFL playoff games yesterday. the Chiefs won at Baltimore, 17-10. the 49ers beat the Lions, 34-31. Detroit pissed away a 24-7 lead in that game.

Super Bowl will be February 11th in Las Vegas.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was really good last night.

Hightown was good last night.

The Woman in the Wall was very good last night.

True Detective Night Country was excellent last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i'm off to go watch Wrexham in the FA Cup. probably laugh at mom getting too emotional watching the game.

and the hours all blend into one long story...

so, i woke up this morning to yet another fucking telemarketer calling. nothing quite like 4 hours of sleep when you know you have shit to do. joy.

so, after breakfast this morning, i had to go to the post office to return a package that mom never ordered. after that, i had to go to her accountant and drop off the taxes. side note, they called this afternoon to tell mom they are done. after the accountant, i went to the bank. i made that deposit and then went back home. got in a good 20 minute nap and then helped mom get ready to go to her doctor's appointment. that appointment lasted forever. the good old Medicare checkup appointment. but, at least mom got to talk about everything she wanted to.

we had a really good lunch today, so dinner tonight is going to be light.

the Yankees lost yesterday to Baltimore, 3-1. Judge had 3 strikeouts yesterday, so i'm hoping he has a big series in Texas so the triple crown will be a possibility. they start a 4 game series tonight at the Texas Rangers.

i did watch a little MLS action yesterday.

mom was happy that her Jets defeated the dictator's Steelers yesterday.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.

Nothing Compares was really good last night. i think it did a great job showing how much Sinead O'Connor was way ahead of the times. you look back on ripping up the photo of the Pope now and given all the sexual abuse in the Catholic church, it makes perfect fucking sense. highly recommend watching this if you get the chance.

enjoy some music:

i did listen to episode 415 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can hear that by going here:

mom gets her injection for her back tomorrow. i should be on here after i get back home from that.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:

and you wonder why i don't go out drinking...

the El Paso, Texas shooting was horrific news yesterday. but, when i heard about the manifesto and how the shooter didn't get killed by the police, i knew immediately this was a fucking nut job racist fuck that wants to be viewed as a hero. when i heard about the shooting down in the Oregon District last night, a place where i would visit in my younger years daily it seemed like, i was shocked. it was always just a cool place to hang, have some drinks, meet some people, etc. it's where i really got the poetry bug, sitting there writing as a teenager while Frank played the saxophone. then, this morning i heard the news of who the shooter was, another white male. the kicker to this one is one of the people he killed was his sister. and there are also reports that one of the dead is her boyfriend, who i believe is black. so, it makes a little more sense, especially if the shooter, a white guy from the suburbs, is racist and didn't like his sister dating a black male. and considering this dude studied psychology at Sinclair, the local community college, i'm going to assume this is one of those deep rooted familial horror stories. and the fact that it played out in public is even worse. thankfully, this dumb fuck didn't realize there is always a police presence in the Oregon District, so he only got to kill 9 and shot like 30 in the minute before he died. i'm not sure why people need assault rifles. not sure why people need anything more than a rifle to hunt with and maybe a pistol for your home. of course, it would be even better if this country gave two shits about mental health. i know that's asking too much of a country consumed with greed. and please, spare me the bullshit about thoughts and prayers and god and more of that bullshit. people who argue that video games teach kids to kill, if they happen to be parents, they are looking for their excuse why they failed as a parent. for as much good as this country could be, we will never see that for as long as we live. humans are incapable of being their better selves. i've seen it for 43 years now. i believe i have enough data to have an opinion.

i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i was up at 8:30. i've tried to take some naps while the press conferences have been going on. i haven't had much luck.

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Boston, 9-2 and 6-4. of course, the Yankees had injuries in both games. Encarnacion broke his wrist in the first game and Hicks did something to his elbow in the second game. i haven't heard about the seriousness of Hicks injury yet. hopefully, the Yankees will get the sweep tonight.

i caught a little bit of the pro football hall of fame ceremonies last night. as usual, it went on way too long.

i did get to see the last two matches of TripleMania last night. holy shit, i haven't seen that much blood in a wrestling match since my youth.

NJPW was excellent last night. the match between Sanada and Okada was a classic.

ROH was good last night.

i did watch a good portion of the German Super Cup yesterday. Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 over Bayern Munich.

Manchester United didn't play as well as i hoped they would yesterday. that being said, they eventually defeated AC Milan on penalty kicks. next up will be the start of the Premier League season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the season finale of Euphoria, Last Week Tonight and City on a Hill.

the solar light i put out does give off this little purple light. i wish it was more, but i do understand why it was only $4.

i think the humidity moves back into the area today. joy.

i know at some point i need to go take a nap in the shower. maybe after lunch...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow...

until then kids...

i forgot how much i don't like snow

ever since my arthritis has basically taken over my body, i can't stand trying to walk on snow. it's not that i'm paralyzed with fear, it's more that i feel like with my bones aching, if i take a wrong step, down i go. of course, the same is true for carpet, cement, grass, whatever. i never have been a fan of driving in it. i'm bitching about all this because it snowed here yesterday. nothing major, just enough for all the stupid fucks to forget about how to drive in the winter. thankfully, i only skidded once yesterday. it got a little slicker as the day went on. i was hoping it was going to stop once we got to the basketball game. it didn't stop until well after i went to sleep.

what i feared with the Dayton Flyers hiring Anthony Grant to be the coach is coming true. Dayton was outplayed, and worse, out coached by Penn yesterday, 78-70. that's the first time Dayton has EVER lost to an Ivy League team. i wasn't happy when Dayton was down 21-7 to start the game. but they dug out of that hole and even took the lead in the first half. they game was tied at 35 at halftime. when i saw in the paper that Josh Cunningham, the only player on the team that is consistent this season, said it felt like if we just would have played harder, we would have won, i wanted to vomit. at least the coach put it on himself for not getting the team ready to play as hard as they need to. what truly pisses me off is Dayton went out and hired a coach they knew wasn't going to leave them for a better job. sadly, some of the fucking fools in charge believe Dayton is Duke. that there is no better job than Dayton. fucking fools. they should have went out and found the next Archie Miller and continued to build on that success. instead, they desired mediocrity. that's exactly what they will get. the team is off for a week for finals. i would hate to stew on that loss for that long.

mom wanted to go to Waffle House after the game. thankfully, it wasn't too busy. and the snow was never bad enough that i felt like we should just go home. although, after that loss, i would have loved to go to a bar and just get fucking wasted.

the New York Rangers beat New Jersey last night 5-2. i had the game on as background noise as i was making my sister's Christmas CD. this was a much better job than the previous night against Washington. it's amazing how much easier it is to win when you score first. the Rangers play tomorrow night at home against Dallas.

ROH was excellent last night.

Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Shameless and SMILF.

basically, today is all about Manchester United vs. Manchester City. the result of that game will be my mood for the rest of the day. hopefully, for my mother's sake, United wins.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store to pick up two of my prescriptions and a trip to the bank to deposit some money.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

nothing quite like angry sleep

as i have grown older, i have really begun to dislike games between the Yankees and Red Sox. mostly because they take forever. last night was no different. when the Yankees closer couldn't any out to begin the bottom of the 9th (two infield singles), i knew doom was coming. the bullpen was supposed to be the strength of this team this year. time and time again this season, they have pissed away lead after lead. and to give up the winning run on a fucking walk is mind boggling to me. i'd rather watch paint dry than that again. New York lost 5-4. they play Boston against this afternoon. hopefully, i'll have something better to do.

after that debacle, i turned on some loud music and started to go through the unpublished poems file. i think i have my next round of submissions set up. 19 poems this time around. i'm shooting for Tuesday most likely.

NJPW was excellent last night. i could watch Will Ospreay wrestle Kushida forever and never get tired of it.

VICE was very good last night. it clearly showed how Turkey is becoming the latest dictatorship. hopefully old fuck face Trump wasn't watching to get any ideas of how he could become President until he dies.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

team USA has a pretty simple mission today in the Gold Cup. beat Nicaragua and you should win your group. it's just that i don't know if this team is really capable of doing what it needs to do the easiest way possible. when you play down to your competition's level, disaster is always just one fuck up away. and it's obvious that FOX didn't think this game was going to mean anything since it's going to be on FXX.

Manchester United plays a preseason friendly tonight against Los Angeles Galaxy. that game will be on ESPN2. i'll be watching.

i believe my sister is coming down here for a little bit today. hopefully i can get her to buy some broadsides.

i'll be on here tomorrow before the first game of the Yankees doubleheader. hopefully, i will be in a better mood.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

it must have come in with the rain

so as i was watching the third rain delay of the Yankees game last night, i was mumbling about the umpires truly fucked this one up. fast forward a few hours and as an obvious penalty doesn't get called in favor of Manchester United, the bad mojo becomes obvious. so now i'm in my room trying to play music to drown out the noise from the children and my sister's friends. i don't like people when i'm normal, why the fuck on earth would people expect me to like them when i'm pissed?

the New York Yankees did win last night, 7-5. that's 6 in a row and 10 games over .500 finally. they are now 1 game out of a playoff spot. hopefully they keep the ball rolling this afternoon.

Treehouse Masters was pretty cool last night. it was a montage of different treehouses from around the world.

NJPW was excellent last night.

the USA beat Canada last night, 4-2, in a World Cup of Hockey exhibition game. the game was chippy and physical as hell. that's exactly how the USA has to play if they want to get a medal in this competition. plus, anytime you fucking beat Canada, it's a great day.

so i woke up pretty damn early this morning to watch Manchester United play. i wish the players would have done the same. United was badly outplayed by Shitty in the first half. the only reason the score was 2-1 was Shitty's goalie making a mistake that ended up in the back of the net. United made a couple changes at halftime and really played much better in the second half. but, no luck in scoring. talk about starting my weekend with a shitty taste in my mouth.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

i was hoping my sister would have had a better reaction to the coffee i got her. she mostly looked like she couldn't care less. i probably won't bother to ask if she makes it or not. i guess she'll enjoy the liquor though. i got her that as the gift from mom.

Ohio State plays Tulsa this afternoon. hopefully the damn kids are gone by then and Ohio State wins again.

i figure i will watch the college football game tonight played at the NASCAR track in Bristol, Tennessee. that should be pretty amazing.

i took mom to the chiropractor this morning. she can barely walk. i told her that she needs to call her doctor on Monday and get the fucking MRI done as quickly as possible. the two times she has gotten worse was both times after the prednisone ran out. so i'm guessing it's going to either be injections or surgery or both after the MRI. good times.

so most of this weekend i think i will be helping her.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i guess sometimes you can drink yourself into a coma

i believe i only had one drink last night. it was a little strong, probably a little more spiced rum than usual, but nothing out of the ordinary. the thing is, after listening to a podcast last night and checking emails, i don't really remember what happened. all i know is i woke up this morning roughly 8 hours later. i guess i got the good shit yesterday.

the Champions League final yesterday was high drama. Real Madrid scored in the first half, even though the goal shouldn't have counted. (Ramos was offside). When Atletico missed the penalty kick in the 47th minute, i figured that they had blown their chance. thankfully for them, they tied the game at 1 later on. the game went to extra time and with everyone cramping up, you could tell the game was going to penalty kicks. no one missed until Juanfran of Atletico hit the post in the 4th round. that set up CR7 to win it for Real Madrid. i believe everyone around the world knew it was going to end up with him without a shirt and Real Madrid winning their 11th title. sure enough. hopefully, in 2 seasons, i'll get to watch Manchester United raise that trophy again.

the New York Yankees got some awful pitching yesterday, which put them in a big enough hole that i never bothered watching much of the game. they lost 9-5. hopefully they can salvage the series by winning this afternoon.

i did watch most of Golden State's unbelievable comeback to force a game 7 against Oklahoma City last night. watching Klay Thompson shoot last night was like recalling dreams i had as a child of making every shot i took when i was dreaming that i was Larry Bird. it was truly fucking amazing.

American Masters was excellent last night. i could listen to music from The Highwaymen all day long and never get bored.

ROH was excellent as well. long live The Bullet Club.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be House of Lies, Silicon Valley, Veep and Penny Dreadful.

i imagine i will spend most of the day watching auto racing. the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 are both today.

i did listen to the latest episode of Sam Roberts' Show podcast. if you want to laugh your ass off, give it a listen.
you can find it by going here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/5/27/srshow-krystyna-hutchinson-dj-whookid

team USA crushed Bolivia last night 4-0. i believe that was the first time the boys had EVER beaten Bolivia. it was also the largest margin of victory for the USA against a South American team. needless to say, i was pleasantly surprised.
with that goal, Christian Pulisic became the youngest American to ever score for the national team. the dude is only 17 years old and honestly, he's the most talented player on the team. play him Jurgen. and play the guy that passed him the ball, Darlington Nagbe. he's game changer. i can't believe i'm typing this, but i am confident that they actually have a chance in the Copa America now.

i've been talking to this woman online this morning. she says she lives right down the road from me. i guess in a few days we'll see if life has taken an interesting turn.

that's all for me today kids. i hope you had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

the joy of running on fumes

i believe 40+ years of shitty sleep might be finally catching up to me. when you find yourself falling asleep while typing an email, it might be a problem. i went outside to get a little sun hoping that would help. we'll see. but, the birds are happy the feeders are full again.

Monday Night Raw had some great moments last night and a ton of what the fuck are they thinking. it kind of reminds me of last year. WrestleMania looked like it was going to be horrible but turned out to be good. hopefully the same thing happens this year. but, with all the injuries and the company unwilling to create new stars, i'm not sure yet. i did enjoy the Daniel Bryan special on WWE Network last night. i love all those behind the scenes type shit. i forget what is on the network tonight. i won't have the time anyway, tonight is a bit of a clusterfuck on television.

Gotham was great last night. i didn't see some of the twists coming, which is really great. the show keeps getting better each week.

The Voice has reached the knockout stage of the season. i was pretty happy with who got picked for the live shows, even though i'm not really sure what the fuck Pharrell is doing this season.
it should be interesting to see what happens tonight.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Deadliest Catch, Total Divas and the Carpool Karaoke special.

but for most of the night i will be watching soccer. it is the put up or shut up night for the USA. first up will be a World Cup qualifying game vs. Guatemala. if they lose at home to that team, the coach should be fired on the spot. next up will be the U-23 team against Colombia to qualify for the Olympics. all the USA needs is a scoreless draw or a win of any kind and they advance. after missing the last Olympics, they really need to make it to this one. hopefully i am drinking a couple victory beers tonight. if not, i'm going to be really fucking pissed.

i did the trash and cleaned the toilets earlier today. hopefully i can get my uncle's trash done before the games start.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone is doing well.
