and you wonder why i don't go out drinking...

the El Paso, Texas shooting was horrific news yesterday. but, when i heard about the manifesto and how the shooter didn't get killed by the police, i knew immediately this was a fucking nut job racist fuck that wants to be viewed as a hero. when i heard about the shooting down in the Oregon District last night, a place where i would visit in my younger years daily it seemed like, i was shocked. it was always just a cool place to hang, have some drinks, meet some people, etc. it's where i really got the poetry bug, sitting there writing as a teenager while Frank played the saxophone. then, this morning i heard the news of who the shooter was, another white male. the kicker to this one is one of the people he killed was his sister. and there are also reports that one of the dead is her boyfriend, who i believe is black. so, it makes a little more sense, especially if the shooter, a white guy from the suburbs, is racist and didn't like his sister dating a black male. and considering this dude studied psychology at Sinclair, the local community college, i'm going to assume this is one of those deep rooted familial horror stories. and the fact that it played out in public is even worse. thankfully, this dumb fuck didn't realize there is always a police presence in the Oregon District, so he only got to kill 9 and shot like 30 in the minute before he died. i'm not sure why people need assault rifles. not sure why people need anything more than a rifle to hunt with and maybe a pistol for your home. of course, it would be even better if this country gave two shits about mental health. i know that's asking too much of a country consumed with greed. and please, spare me the bullshit about thoughts and prayers and god and more of that bullshit. people who argue that video games teach kids to kill, if they happen to be parents, they are looking for their excuse why they failed as a parent. for as much good as this country could be, we will never see that for as long as we live. humans are incapable of being their better selves. i've seen it for 43 years now. i believe i have enough data to have an opinion.

i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i was up at 8:30. i've tried to take some naps while the press conferences have been going on. i haven't had much luck.

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Boston, 9-2 and 6-4. of course, the Yankees had injuries in both games. Encarnacion broke his wrist in the first game and Hicks did something to his elbow in the second game. i haven't heard about the seriousness of Hicks injury yet. hopefully, the Yankees will get the sweep tonight.

i caught a little bit of the pro football hall of fame ceremonies last night. as usual, it went on way too long.

i did get to see the last two matches of TripleMania last night. holy shit, i haven't seen that much blood in a wrestling match since my youth.

NJPW was excellent last night. the match between Sanada and Okada was a classic.

ROH was good last night.

i did watch a good portion of the German Super Cup yesterday. Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 over Bayern Munich.

Manchester United didn't play as well as i hoped they would yesterday. that being said, they eventually defeated AC Milan on penalty kicks. next up will be the start of the Premier League season.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the season finale of Euphoria, Last Week Tonight and City on a Hill.

the solar light i put out does give off this little purple light. i wish it was more, but i do understand why it was only $4.

i think the humidity moves back into the area today. joy.

i know at some point i need to go take a nap in the shower. maybe after lunch...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow...

until then kids...

let the weekend begin...

i was up at 7 this morning. if i would have gone to bed around 10 or so, that would have been lovely. instead, i finally fell to sleep at 4:30. joy.

i put out the new solar light i got for mom yesterday. it's supposed to give off this purple color, her favorite. and considering it was 50% off, i'm hoping it works well this evening. i also put out food for the birds. figured i'd take advantage of the humidity being low this morning.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the New York Yankees defeated Boston last night, 4-2. all the scoring came in the first inning. they play a doubleheader today. i'm hoping the Yankees win both games.

the finale of Shangri-La last night was excellent. i was very interested to see what kind of damage the wildfires did to the place.

Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.

A Black Lady Sketch Show was fucking hilarious last night. i highly recommend it.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

Manchester United takes on AC Milan today in Wales. i'd love to see United win today.

the pro football hall of fame ceremonies are tonight. i might watch some of that.

i will probably watch some of the German Super Cup today as well. Borussia Dortmund takes on Bayern Munich.

i'm going to try to watch some of TripleMania XVII tonight. i believe i can find it somewhere online for free. it's the one AAA event i try to watch every year.

and somewhere between all the baseball, soccer and pro wrestling today and tonight, i'm hoping to find some more sleep.

that's all for me kids. i have a back to go ice down and a quick nap to take before United plays.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i suppose i should have gone to bed before 5 in the morning...

and after just 4 hours of sleep, before i could even take the morning shit, my mother asked me to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast. last night was one of those nights where i was burning the candle at both ends. between flipping between baseball and football, watching Triplemania on the computer, and finally having it out with the scam artist from Italy... last night was one of those nights where i could feel the blood flowing like my youth. i'm sure i'm going to fucking pay for it today.

for the first time all season, the New York Yankees won both games of a doubleheader. they won the first game 10-3. they won the second game 5-1. they will go for the 4 game sweep of Baltimore tonight.

the New Orleans Saints started off slow last night, but came back to rout the Chargers 36-7.

Triplemania 26 last night was crazy. it's probably the only AAA event i try to watch every year. it sucks that i can only watch it on the computer, but i get it for free, so i'm not going to complain too much. i haven't seen a Mexican death match in so long, i almost forgot just how fucking violent they really are. holy shit. last night truly was fucking crazy.

so, somewhere around the 4th hour of wrestling and 3 strong drinks in, the woman from Italy contacted me on Google Hangouts. amazingly, she once again started talking about phone problems and i just snapped. i told her about how i never wanted to believe she was trying to scam me, but when i have people from all around the world tell me about the same fucking scam, it's kind of hard to not believe it any longer. so after telling her to fuck off, i blocked her. those old poems will be more ironic than anything now.

i did watch that Drew Michael comedy special on HBO last night. not having an audience was a bold choice for it, but i think it worked. it was funny enough that it didn't just seem like a crazy person rambling for 50 minutes.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, the series finale of Sharp Objects, Ballers, Insecure, the season finales of Who is America? and Our Cartoon President, and finally America to Me.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow, sometime before Manchester United plays.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

lost souls trapped in a ball of chaos

i tend to look at people in the eyes when i'm out by myself. perhaps it's hoping for magic, perhaps it's the tragedy of being a poet, but the windows to the souls are usually a good, haunting place to start. i saw this woman at Menards yesterday that had some tragic fucking green eyes. even in just a few seconds, i could see pain, hardship, whatever fucking cliche you would like to use for getting the short end of a long stick. the more i am out in public, the more i feel like a kindred spirit with the damaged. who knows what my life would be like if i wouldn't have spent basically a decade sheltered from the world.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 6-3. they finally got a few hits when they needed them. hopefully they can win the series against Seattle this afternoon. they also picked up a game on Boston in the division.

Manchester United was dominant from start to finish yesterday in a 2-0 win over Leicester City. always good when all 3 substitutes contribute to the goals. plus, i'm absolutely thrilled with another clean sheet to start the season.

i don't want to get ahead of myself, but the New Orleans Saints might actually have a defense this year. they defeated Houston last night 13-0. if they could just have a decent defense to go with their usual offense, they could be deadly once again this season.

ROH was excellent last night.

i did watch a little of AAA's TripleMania last night over the internet. it was the 25th anniversary of the event. and god knows, i love a good mask vs. mask match. i never thought Dr. Wagner Jr. would lose though.

Jackie was a pretty sad movie last night. it did remind though of why i have loved Natalie Portman since the first time i ever saw her act. she is fucking amazing.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Ballers, Insecure, The Strain, Ray Donovan, Twin Peaks and Episodes.

i imagine if i was 20 years younger, i might actually give a shit that the MTV Music Awards are on tonight.

i did find everything i was looking for at Menards yesterday. they had their Halloween shit out, so i had some fun finding a few creepy things. i have become a big fan of skulls as i have grown older. i found one yesterday that is purple and the red eyes light up. at $2.99, i couldn't resist.

mom started the eye drops for her right eye today. she has the surgery on that eye on Tuesday. she seems to be looking forward to it. i suppose time will tell.

it's hard to imagine all that fucking rain that is falling in Texas. and i don't think they are anywhere close to being done with it yet.

and finally, a few words for my best friend. take the agony, take the guilt, take all the fucking pain, and use it. don't wallow, but you are allowed to grieve however you see fit. embrace the light and squeeze whatever love out of it you can. there are a handful of souls on this earth that do love you. NEVER forget that.

i have no idea when i'll be on here tomorrow. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. and i hope your Sunday is even better.
