the dog days of summer...

i didn't get to sleep until 5 AM this morning. so, when i got up around 10:45 AM, i was slightly shocked. i don't think i tossed and turned at all while sleeping. amazingly, my back didn't feel like shit either. amazing what a good night of wrestling will do for me.

WWE SummerSlam last night was fucking bonkers. i told my mother, if the first match goes the way i expect, this show is going to have a bit of everything. so, when Dirty Dom turned and helped Liv Morgan and they kissed after screwing Rhea Ripley, i knew this show was going to be fucking crazy. to see how it started to having Roman Reigns come back to the babyface pop that WWE has wanted him to get for over a decade now, just pure fucking perfection. hats off to HHH for making the show feel like it was a mini WrestleMania. just fucking great.

AEW Collision was good last night.

the Yankees won yesterday at home over Toronto, 8-3. hopefully, they will win the series today. they are currently down 2-0.

Manchester United lost last night against Liverpool, 3-0. thank god i didn't watch that.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and Last Week Tonight.

i will probably just relax today and watch some sports and ice my back down a few times.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i should be on here tomorrow after mom's physical therapy appointment.

until then kids...

welcome to the weekend...

oh, where to begin... so, i forgot to put mom's rollator in the Highlander yesterday and only remembered it when i pulled up to the building where the doctor's office is. there wasn't a cane in the Highlander either. but, this actually worked out well. mom was able to walk without much anxiety or discomfort or trouble. she thanked me for forgetting the rollator as it gave her a chance to see her own progress with her physical therapy. but, anyone that knows me knows i beat myself up way too much for shit like this. i tend to believe this is the reason why i wasn't able to write anything last night or this morning. punishment. welcome to my world.

the doctor's appointment went well for my mother yesterday. her A1C is excellent and the doc is putting her on something that might help her sleep better. after the appointment, we got some Wendy's and went home.

the Yankees won last night at home against Houston, 4-3. that surprised me. two wins in a row, holy shit. maybe they can make it 3 tonight.

i did see a little of the Leagues Cup games last night.

NJPW was really good last night.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

i will probably check out some of the Leagues Cup games tonight as well.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow, although it will be most likely after Manchester United plays in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

and now, here comes the rain...

the grocery shopping went pretty well yesterday, other than it being hotter than shit. i did get everything on the list and had all the shopping done by 3 PM. of course, i saw the Yankees score while i was shopping. if it would have been better, i would have got the shopping done sooner. but since Gerrit Cole shit the bed, i took my sweet ass time.

the Yankees were down 6-0 before the first inning was over. i knew with Castillo pitching for Seattle, the game was essentially over. and it was. the Yankees lost, 7-3. they are off tonight and start a series in St. Louis tomorrow night.

Big Brother was good last night. i get the feeling there will be another blindside coming tonight and Nicole will be evicted.

AEW was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, NJPW and two episodes of The Captain. i did watch NXT UK this afternoon on Peacock. it was really good.

so, mom's doctor's appointment went well today. they are going to try to change her meds a little and see if that helps to keep her from falling. the doctor also wrote a prescription for a bed alarm. that should be interesting.

i about shit my pants last night when i was going through my emails and saw that Fed Ex delivered a package to the house at 5PM. i went to the front door to look for it 8 hours later. amazingly, it was on the table by the front door. it was the box of Bowman 2022 cards i ordered. i paid $30 for the box and there was something like around $100 worth of cards in it. the box of 2022 Topps Series 2 should be here by the weekend.

i probably won't watch much of the NFL game on tonight between the Jaguars and Raiders.

feels like it's been a decade ago...

hard to believe it's been one year since the mass shooting in the Oregon District. it feels like a fucking lifetime ago now. and of course, since it's Ohio, not one fucking thing has changed.
https://www.whio.com/news/oregon-district-shooting-one-year-later/FOITS7BJUZCBTF5YB5A323W6QE/

the Yankees won last night over the Phillies, 6-3. Judge didn't homer, but 3 other guys did. Gerrit Cole is now 3-0 on the season. they are rained out tonight because of the hurricane going up the east coast. so, they will play a doubleheader tomorrow in Philadelphia.

Monday Night Raw was part good, part awful last night.

I May Destroy You was really fucking good last night.

Axios was excellent last night. if people still vote for Trump after that interview, they are as fucking stupid as he is.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Deadliest Catch.

i tried to do some writing last night. nothing happened. after a few hours of sleep, i managed to write 1 damn poem. now, i do love that poem, but i know i need to write some more. so, i suppose if the Rangers win tonight in a MUST WIN Game 3, i might be able to drink enough to conjure up some poems. of course, a loss means the Rangers season is over, so that anger may bring some poems as well.

part of me is hoping the Rangers lose tonight so it increases their chances of getting the #1 pick in the NHL Draft.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i need to do the trash here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

and you wonder why i don't go out drinking...

the El Paso, Texas shooting was horrific news yesterday. but, when i heard about the manifesto and how the shooter didn't get killed by the police, i knew immediately this was a fucking nut job racist fuck that wants to be viewed as a hero. when i heard about the shooting down in the Oregon District last night, a place where i would visit in my younger years daily it seemed like, i was shocked. it was always just a cool place to hang, have some drinks, meet some people, etc. it's where i really got the poetry bug, sitting there writing as a teenager while Frank played the saxophone. then, this morning i heard the news of who the shooter was, another white male. the kicker to this one is one of the people he killed was his sister. and there are also reports that one of the dead is her boyfriend, who i believe is black. so, it makes a little more sense, especially if the shooter, a white guy from the suburbs, is racist and didn't like his sister dating a black male. and considering this dude studied psychology at Sinclair, the local community college, i'm going to assume this is one of those deep rooted familial horror stories. and the fact that it played out in public is even worse. thankfully, this dumb fuck didn't realize there is always a police presence in the Oregon District, so he only got to kill 9 and shot like 30 in the minute before he died. i'm not sure why people need assault rifles. not sure why people need anything more than a rifle to hunt with and maybe a pistol for your home. of course, it would be even better if this country gave two shits about mental health. i know that's asking too much of a country consumed with greed. and please, spare me the bullshit about thoughts and prayers and god and more of that bullshit. people who argue that video games teach kids to kill, if they happen to be parents, they are looking for their excuse why they failed as a parent. for as much good as this country could be, we will never see that for as long as we live. humans are incapable of being their better selves. i've seen it for 43 years now. i believe i have enough data to have an opinion.

i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i was up at 8:30. i've tried to take some naps while the press conferences have been going on. i haven't had much luck.

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Boston, 9-2 and 6-4. of course, the Yankees had injuries in both games. Encarnacion broke his wrist in the first game and Hicks did something to his elbow in the second game. i haven't heard about the seriousness of Hicks injury yet. hopefully, the Yankees will get the sweep tonight.

i caught a little bit of the pro football hall of fame ceremonies last night. as usual, it went on way too long.

i did get to see the last two matches of TripleMania last night. holy shit, i haven't seen that much blood in a wrestling match since my youth.

NJPW was excellent last night. the match between Sanada and Okada was a classic.

ROH was good last night.

i did watch a good portion of the German Super Cup yesterday. Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 over Bayern Munich.

Manchester United didn't play as well as i hoped they would yesterday. that being said, they eventually defeated AC Milan on penalty kicks. next up will be the start of the Premier League season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the season finale of Euphoria, Last Week Tonight and City on a Hill.

the solar light i put out does give off this little purple light. i wish it was more, but i do understand why it was only $4.

i think the humidity moves back into the area today. joy.

i know at some point i need to go take a nap in the shower. maybe after lunch...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow...

i woke up to a pillow on the floor

so, i obviously had another night of great sleep. waking up and stepping on a pillow on the floor that you don't remember putting there is always a sign of a nice, comfortable night in bed. i've often thought of installing a camera to see just how i sleep. but, i figured it would just be a few hours of a man trying to decide to die or not and be really uncomfortable to watch.

thanks for the feedback on my new YouTube video. i really do appreciate it. if you haven't had a chance to check it out yet:

the New York Yankees had all of 1 hit last night against Boston. the Yankees lost 4-1. the only good thing about the game is it only lasted two hours and fifteen minutes. Chance Adams will be making his major league debut for the Yankees today. no pressure kid. it's just the best team in the majors you're facing and your team has lost 3 games in a row. fuck me.

VICE was really good last night.

Major League Wrestling was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking great last night.

Random Acts of Flyness was fucking amazing last night. it was weird, subversive, brilliant, hilarious and poignant all within 30 minutes. i can't say enough good things about this show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Paul Thorn's Mission Temple Fireworks Revival.

i took mom to the bank this morning. of course, she didn't feel like going inside, so we sat in the hot ass Highlander for about 20 minutes in line. i guess the local branch of this bank doesn't take mail and mom of course didn't know that. so, her payment for her safety deposit box was sent back to her. joy. after that, i went to the local grocery store to get some hamburger buns. mom stayed in the Highlander. of course, they didn't have any whole wheat buns at all. fuck me. so, i got some cheap ones instead. after that, mom and i went to get some breakfast. the line at McDonald's was fucking ridiculous. so, we went across the street to Arby's. let's just say i've already been on the shitter twice this morning.

i will probably do a little poetry work today. i've got a few new places to send to, so you know i always like to make a good first impression.

i hope everyone has a good Saturday. call if you need bail money.
