you would think the world was ending...

they are saying by this time Saturday night, we should have around 6 inches of snow on the ground. you would have thought they said the world was going to end. the grocery store was a fucking madhouse today. and i know it's a really great day when i finally eat lunch around 4 in the afternoon. joy.

but, all that being said, i got enough food, liquor, and my pills, so if we do get snowed in for some fucking reason, we're good. i got mom her own rum so she can stop taking mine. i can't wait to see her say fuck it and start drinking it. that's one way to lift her spirits.

i must have spent around $300 today between everything, plus getting gas. joy.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night.

Young Sheldon was hilarious last night.

Gotham was fucking great last night.

the New York Rangers lost to the Islanders, 4-3. of course, the Islanders only had 1 shot in the 3rd period, and that was the winning goal. Lose For Hughes in full effect.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW.

i will be on here early tomorrow, mostly because the Rangers and Islanders play again tomorrow afternoon. thankfully, i won't watch much of that because i am planning on watching all of the NXT UK Takeover Blackpool live on WWE Network.

i'm not really high on the what the New York Yankees did today. i'd rather them just spend the damn money and get two players in their prime than try to get players that are cheaper but may work out. and i should think that way as a fan, it's not my money.

so, the other beautiful woman i talked about yesterday just tried to run this i have some money but i need your credit card to get it scam. jesus fucking christ people, how stupid do these assholes think i am. and honestly, talk to me for 6 fucking months and then you pull that shit. the world is full of fucking assholes. never forget that kids.

if we do get a good amount of snow, i'll try to get some pics.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

let's start the weekend off with insomnia...

i think i might have got almost 3 hours of sleep last night. the drugs didn't work. nothing fucking worked. i eventually found some program that was in French or something that eventually got me to sleep. of course, 3 hours later the pizza i had for dinner decided it needed to leave my body. quickly. i didn't bother to try to fall back asleep after that. as you might imagine, i'm in a fucking great mood.

Manchester United pissed me off yesterday, but i can't blame them completely. their opponent, Cambridge United simply wanted to get a draw yesterday and nothing more. so, the 0-0 draw didn't surprise me. the replay will be in early February at Old Trafford. so, Cambridge can get their pay day and hopefully Manchester United can get the win to advance in the FA Cup. seeing that Manchester Shitty and Chelsea both lost today, i think Manchester United has a real shot at possibly winning the FA Cup this year. it's been 11 damn years since they have won it. that's way too long.

i did watch most of the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft last night. i do like the team Rick Nash is on. that's the team i'll be cheering for, even though there are players from the fucking Islanders and Devils on it. i'm planning on bringing my camera to the game, so hopefully i'll get some good photos.

Treehouse Masters was pretty good last night. if i had some fuck you money, i would absolutely have a fucking treehouse.

NJPW was really good last night on AXS TV. anytime you can watch Okada wrestle Tanahashi, i highly recommend you do so. even if the match is from 2013.

the roofers were out here at 9 this morning to fix the barn roofs. it's been so damn long since they have looked good, i'll be fucking shocked when they get done. but, that will go a long way to getting this place ready to sell.

mom and i are going to see the Dayton Flyers take on Richmond tonight at UD Arena. i'm hoping Dayton can get back to winning. Richmond hasn't won on the road yet this year, but i'm not sold that's a good thing just yet. Dayton hardly ever plays well when ranked.

after the game, i have no clue if we're going out to eat or coming back home. i do know that i'm planning on watching Saturday Night Live and ROH this evening.

after that, i'm really hoping i can get some sleep. i have to drive mom to Columbus tomorrow for a nursing conference and i'm going to the NHL All-Star game with my sister. and to add to the stress of everything, there's supposed to be some snow/freezing rain/rain coming as we're traveling. good times.

i'm going to try to get a blog posted early tomorrow morning. there's a real good chance of me posting one if i'm battling insomnia again. since i'm spending the night at my sister's Sunday night, i have no clue the next time i will be blogging after that. it may be just a huge picture dump if i get some really good shots from the game.

that's all for me today. i need to hit the shower and get ready for the basketball game tonight.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

better news than i expected

had a holy shit moment this afternoon. my eyes aren't as bad as i expected. i don't have to get new glasses, so that saves some money. thought for sure i was going to get fucked on that deal.

after the eye appointment, mom and i went to the sports bar and caught the last few minutes of afternoon soccer. i didn't get to see the USA lose to Austria (1-0) but i did see Portugal and France qualify for the World Cup.

i did see bits and pieces of The Voice last night but not enough to really have an opinion. i think there are 3 or 4 that can win it and the rest of them are on the same level. i have no clue who is going to get eliminated tonight.

Monday Night Raw held my attention for most of the evening. the main event was spectacular. and i nearly shit my pants when CM Punk and Rey Mysterio shook hands at the end of the evening. hell froze over for sure at that moment. they had one of the best feuds in the last decade. real, personal shit. quite the show to go into the Survivor Series PPV.

the New York Rangers play tonight. Rick Nash comes back tonight from his latest concussion. hopefully he can stay healthy for the rest of the season. my fantasy hockey team would certainly like that. i would love for the Rangers to win tonight as they play Boston.

other than that, i believe i will be checking out some PBS later this evening.

and i did get a good amount of sleep last night. so, i will probably be up late tonight. if the energy is still there, maybe i'll get some writing done. i am pretty pleased that the 2 latest poems i have had accepted/published are brand new.

i'm listening to Kevin Steen on the Wrestling with Depression podcast at the moment. laughing my ass off.

hope this finds everyone well. until tomorrow, when the plumber supposedly makes his return 5 weeks after he was supposed to. good times.

and in rolled the rain...

right as i was beginning to write this, the wind picked up and it started to rain. not what i was hoping for at all. this is always how it goes when there is corn to take off it seems. never fails.

where to begin... i had a conversation with one of the guys working on the barns out here. he said he was clearing some brush and came across the largest raccoon he has ever seen. that got me thinking that maybe that fucker is the one behind the cat deaths here lately. especially the 3 kittens that suddenly vanished. of course, if that raccoon gets too big, the coyotes will love to eat it. i tell ya, it's like a wild kingdom out here some days.

watched most of England's win over Poland today. was happy to see that Wayne Rooney scored the goal that sends them to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. i will be watching team USA play in Panama tonight. after i watch The Voice of course.

from what i saw last night, The Voice was good. i was surprised so many steals were used so early. hopefully tonight will be just as good or better.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. CM Punk was great once again and i love that the next match with Ryback will be in the Hell in a Cell. throw Heyman in there and it has the potential to be a classic. the tag team titles changing hands at the end of the show was perfect. ties in a few storylines and has the potential to go a few different directions. i really enjoyed the show.

i'm not surprised the New York Rangers are making some changes. better to do it now than wait until it is too late. plus, i always like when the young guys get a real chance to stick up with the big boys. hopefully Rick Nash gets better from his concussion soon. his goal scoring is going to be missed, not only on the Rangers but on my fantasy team as well.

i haven't left the house in 2 days other than to feed the animals. and i don't feel like i have really missed anything. i know it's a delicate line i'm walking between the recluse and functioning human. most days it's just a flip of a coin...

hopefully i will do some writing tonight over a victory beer.

until we meet again...

glutton for punishment

i've pretty much been in a shit mood for most of the day. anyone that knows me knows why.

the New York Rangers lost last night 9-2. completely outplayed would be an understatement. it was beyond fucking embarrassing. and i, the glutton for fucking punishment that i am, watched all of it. hopefully last night was the wake up call. on a fantasy note, i wasn't pleased with the elbow Rick Nash took to the head early in the first period last night. he didn't play the last 2 periods and most likely has another concussion. that puts a major fucking hole not only in my fantasy team but also the Rangers. just one of those nights you wish you could erase from your memory forever.

i did watch a good portion of The Voice last night. looks like the battle rounds are going to be good.

most of last night was spent watching the concussion documentary on the NFL that aired on PBS. wow, talk about a league getting absolutely buried. but, like most rich people, throw some cash at it and hope it goes away. mom looked at me halfway through it and said i'm so glad you never wanted to play football. i chuckled as i know if i would have played i would have been charged with some crime. i'm a tad bit competitive and have been known to fight dirty if i need to. and that sport is one where dirty is commonplace.

as for tonight, i will watch Duck Dynasty of course. not sure if i'm going to watch American Horror Story or not. chances are i will as that cast looks amazing. maybe a little baseball and hockey as well.

i was a little surprised by the news today that the Yankees are bringing back Joe Girardi next season. i thought for sure he was going to take the Cubs job. 4 years and 16 million are the numbers i'm hearing. hopefully that is the first of many good signings this hot stove season.

that's all for me. i need to go shower and do the dishes. if i could figure a way to do both at the same time, i would take an instructional video for you.

check out the many podcasts on the right hand side of this blog. i recommend all of them. if you need a laugh or just some background noise to get you through your day, give them a listen.

some days just bleed together

i was up way too late last night and up way too early this morning. needless to say, i feel like i have been in a damn fog for the last 18 hours or so.

first off, i did send out 12 poems today. 6 to ZYX and 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

i did watch most of the New York Rangers 4-1 loss last night. too many fucking mistakes, too many defensive lapses, too many mind cramps, and way too soft at times. a thank you to Rick Nash for dropping the gloves last night when none of his pussy teammates would. mostly, a thank you for the 5 penalty minutes. much needed for my fantasy team. hopefully they get Captain Cally back by Monday and figure some shit out or the 9 game road trip to start the season could be really fucking ugly.

The Big Bang Theory was hilarious last night. really great writing. nothing else really struck me as funny on television last night.

i did watch a good portion of the NFL game last night. i picked the right team to win but i didn't care for how they won. i'm now 41 points behind in fantasy football. that's a big fucking hole to climb out of. especially when your QB is facing the best defense in the league. so much for my momentum from last week.

i actually had to turn on the A/C today. first week of October and it's in the mid 80's. fucking ridiculous.

not sure what i'm watching this evening. i might just turn on some baseball so i can fall asleep.

i'll be back on here after the Manchester United game tomorrow afternoon. if they lose again, expect a rant that might get me banned from the internet for life.

hope everyone has a great weekend. or at least a better one than the assholes you hate.

when the sun comes out to play

amazing how different my mood is when the sun is out for nearly all day long. or maybe it's that my sports teams are winning. who knows.

i watched the New York Rangers game last night knowing it was going to be a struggle as the Islanders are much better than the pieces of shit they normally are. but, being down 1-0 in the 3rd period, i felt confident as the Rangers were getting chance after chance. and of course, Rick Nash ties the game with his 8th goal of the year, all in the 3rd period. and below is the game winner from Marian Gaborik in overtime, on the power play nonetheless
amazing the leaping ability of Captain Cally on that play. i never knew he had hops. 4th win in a row for the boys. hopefully they get number 5 tonight against Ottawa.

big game tomorrow afternoon for the Dayton Flyers. i didn't get to go to Senior Night (bad weather and my shitty truck don't mix) but they won again. if they win on Saturday, amazingly they make the A10 tournament. even with a loss, they have a chance to make it. i really hope they don't count on the help from others route. just win baby.

Manchester United plays on Sunday against Chelsea in FA Cup play. i'm really hoping for a victory and maybe a rub your face in it kind of one. i think i'm still a little bitter from earlier in the week.

also, anytime Justin Timberlake is hosting Saturday Night Live it's usually better than normal, so i'll check that out.

i will close this blog post with a bit of sadness for me. i guess tomorrow morning the Hammer of God makes it official and announces this will be his last season with the New York Yankees. it's been an absolute pleasure and joy to watch Mo his entire career. he will go down as the greatest relief pitcher of all time and it will never be close. also, i get a good laugh from all these people writing off the Yankees already because of all the injuries and advanced ages. how many times have i seen this before? i don't understand why people refuse to learn their lessons. hopefully, when the Yankees win the division, these idiots will understand. age and experience are two different things. you're never old when you are still producing. now, if they suck this year, please forget the last 4 sentences or so. thank you.

when the good meets the bad and it snows

i was completely dialed in for the Manchester United vs. Real Madrid match yesterday in Champions League play. i was a little surprised when Wayne Rooney wasn't starting. but, after watching the first 20 minutes and seeing what the plan was, defend and counter with speed, i understood the decision. i love Wayne, but speed isn't something he is blessed with. 0-0 at halftime. then, United goes up 1-0 on an own goal from Madrid. and then, the ref decided he was going to decide the game. if you have any interest in this at all, you've already seen the red card given to Nani. should it have been a card? yes, yellow. the red card sent me fucking flying off the handle. i might have spent the next 20 minutes or so pacing and screaming at the television. no one will ever question my passion about anything i'm passionate about. Real Madrid of course wins 2-1. i expected it when they were essentially given nearly 40 minutes of being a man up. i'm happy that CR7 is advancing. i respect the fact he didn't celebrate scoring the winning goal against his former club. i'd take him back in a heartbeat. sadly, no treble this year for the red devils. hopefully, they will have all their wounds licked by Sunday when they play Chelsea in the next round of the FA Cup.

thankfully, the New York Rangers won last night in their game against Philly. never a dull moment, which really helped me get my mind off the crushing defeat earlier. helps when Rick Nash scores 2 more goals. crazy enough, all 7 of his goals this season have come in the third period. i didn't enjoy watching Marc Staal take a puck to the face. it didn't look good seeing where it hit him. near his right eye. i haven't seen any updates, but i am certainly hoping for the best. not only for the player, but for the person. i won't post a video of it here, but you can certainly find plenty on the internet. just nasty as hell.

so, after a victory beer and responding to a few needless emails, i decided to hit the bed. below is what i woke up to this morning.

not nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be. but, just enough that my back felt it while shoveling. that's always fun. but, mom made it out with no problems. i think i will wait until tomorrow to hit town for the mail.

not sure how the rest of my day will go. i have some books to finish up and maybe if the creativity urge hits me, i'll break out the watercolors. i won't be holding my breath though. and neither should you.

one day at a time

i really wish the New York Rangers could play Tampa all season long. they have been the only team the Rangers have played against this season and looked dominant against. a total ass kicking last night in a 4-1 victory. no complaints from me at all. a power play goal, taking the body, out-shooting them by a wide margin, always on the jump, was very nice to see. of course, it helps when you get most of the injured players back. most importantly Rick Nash. below is a video of the awesome, sick hands the Rangers and my fantasy team had been missing for the last week or so.

hopefully he stays healthy and the team takes off from here.

hopefully spring training is no example of how the Yankees will play this season. the few times i have caught a few minutes of the games, no other way to put it, just god awful. i really don't want one of those seasons from my youth again. the early 80's Yankees were just good enough to tease you and then fail miserably. i'd rather not live that again.

big sports weekend coming up. Manchester United plays Saturday morning. hopefully, they can get the 3 points and no injuries as well. (please) they have a huge game with Real Madrid in just a few days after Saturday. they need to be as healthy as possible for that one. i know CR7 will be inspired, more than usual to be back home.

was a little sad to see the Dayton Flyers aren't going to be included in the catholic 7 new big east. as a season ticket holder, i would have loved to see that. hopefully it happens in the next few years as everyone in the media believes it will. i will be in attendance on Saturday as they face another must win game against Richmond. those games are usually nail-biters, so i will be prepared for last second elation or heartbreak. but honestly, i wouldn't mind another blowout.

Sunday night will be tricky for me. the Rangers play at 7:30 and the Sunday night shows i watch each week start at 9. i get the feeling it's going to be a late one for me. damn, i need a DVR.

another day with no sunshine. not exactly how i wanted to start the month. but, hopefully it will warm up some in the next week or so.

hope everyone has a great weekend. be safe, take it easy. and if it's easy, take it again.

a bank, a dead cat, some poems, and something funny in Europe

hopefully the title of this post caught your attention. so, on with the show.

went out to feed the cats and was coming up 1 short. i figured since it was fucking freezing out, it was just hiding. so, while out feeding the birds i come across the cat i was missing, face down and frozen solid in the snow. no visible signs of what killed it, so i'm thinking something internal. now you can understand why i don't name these cats until they survive a winter out here.

made a nice little deposit at the bank today and got some poems in order to send out tomorrow. i think we've got some weather coming in on Friday, so i might as well get it all done by tomorrow. at least that's what i think, i'm in one of my avoid the local news as much as i can.

i had a pleasant shock watching AC Milan defeat Barcelona 2-0 in Champions League play today. that was about as bad as i've seen Barcelona play in probably ever. should make for an interesting second leg in Spain in 3 weeks.

i was really disappointed with how the New York Rangers played last night. that had to have been one of the most boring hockey games i have ever witnessed in my life. and i've been watching this sport since my birth. doesn't help that Rick Nash is out with some mystery injury (i'm hearing either concussion or groin) and it certainly doesn't help my fantasy team either. always fun when you get hit with 2 injuries out of the blue in a battle for first in the division. oh well, just another thing for me to bitch about.

a totally bizarre day

let me start this out by saying hello to anyone who happens to stumble upon this blog. if you like what you see, please subscribe to the blog and tell a friend.

also, i still have broadsides for sale. if anyone is interested please contact me. if i have any left i'm thinking of possibly sending those copies to anyone who purchases my upcoming book, Sofisticated White Trash.

what a bizarre day today. or yesterday as i write this early tuesday morning. was probably listening to my 4th or 5th cd for the day, got done with watching porn and decided for shits and giggles to check out some sports sites. and holy shit. the New York Rangers finally got their man. Rick Nash. and they didn't have to give up any of the kids i was fearing they would lose in the deal. i'd like to thank the dumb asses that run the Blue Jackets for allowing us to steal your best player. if this finally brings the happiness i haven't had since 94 with that team, all the bullshit and waiting would be totally worth it. congrats to Slats for highway robbery.

and then the stunner.

basking in the glow of the Nash trade, i happen to see a little blurb that Ichiro was traded to the Yankees. a nice holy fucking shit moment as this came out of nowhere. would have been great if it happened a decade ago, but i think he still has a little gas left in the tank. the Yanks gave up 2 arms that were never going to help us now or down the line, so it's not much of a risk.

and the best thing of all

the fucking Yankees finally won. 4-1. great pitched game from Kuroda. Ichiro had a hit and stolen base. A-Rod hit a home run about a mile and the bullpen did their job finally. totally insane seeing Ichiro in that uniform after all these years. but if he helps them win another championship, i'll gladly enjoy welcoming another mercenary into the family. almost reminds me of 96 when Cecil Fielder went to the Yankees. good times.

so happy to see the NCAA grow a set of nuts and give Penn St. what they deserved. hopefully the punishment is the gift that keeps on giving. as a victim of child sexual abuse, all of them that covered for that fucking monster can all rot in hell for what i care.

saw that asshole who shot up the theater in Colorado in court today. guess i know what color i won't be using for my hair anytime soon.

an afternoon with no internet

my internet was out from 8:15 this morning to 5:09 this afternoon/evening. that's alot of time to fill.
so, i want to thank the Dan Patrick Show, a trip to the post office, doing the dishes, reading the paper, jerking off to QVC (don't ask) and my constant need for music for getting me through the day. i don't know if i have ever played chess vs. the computer so many times in one day. i actually won a few for a change.

waiting on Parise and Suter to stop holding NHL free agency hostage. after those two make up their minds, the Rick Nash sweepstakes can begin. if the Rangers can get him without giving up any of the key kids, i'm all for it. it seems like he wants to be in New York, a welcome change from most years.

with the holiday approaching i'm hoping to get some writing done. those are my current plans for the 4th of July. i'd like to have a big submission pile by mid July, hopefully to take my mind off my book coming out soon. anxiety can be a mother fucker at times.
