 we got 1.4 inches of rain overnight. that made for a fucking miserable night of sleep for me. Biz Markie dying at the age of 57 didn't help things either. thanks for all the laughs over the years. you will never be forgotten.

the Yankees lost yet again to the Red Sox last night, 4-0. that's 7 losses in a row to them. i doubt much changes tonight either.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night. so great to have the fans back.

 i looked at the forecast this morning and it said it was going to start raining in 54 minutes. i got my ass in gear and got some suet out for the birds. i got the coffee made and then i wrote a poem. i had a killer opening line come to me when i woke up. i made sure to get it down so i wouldn't forget. hopefully, i'll have a few more this weekend.

one of those days...

 so, mom had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. i got her there early. i left early because i knew we were going to be driving past the air show and that's always crazy traffic. so, i knew mom's anxiety was going to be up since she has never seen this doctor before. and after seeing her, i don't think she was that impressed. so, after getting done there, we were going to go to Perkins for lunch. it was packed. so, she decided she wanted to go to Bob Evans. we went to the one closer to our home. that was probably mistake number one. they sat us in a booth, which i hate because as a fat guy, it always feels like i am stuffed in there. mom of course didn't realize we were in a booth until she watched me try to get out of it. of course, it was my fault for not saying anything in the first place. thirdly, i ordered a turkey melt and got a melt without turkey. i was pissed but hungry enough that i just wanted to eat and leave. mom pointed out to our waitress that there was no turkey. the cook fucked up and forgot so he insisted on making me a new one. so, there's dinner tonight. and lastly, they didn't have any of their nutritional guides on hand, so the manager came over and showed me how to find it on my smart phone. what a shit show. and after all that, mom wanted a frozen Coke from Burger King and of course, the machine was defrosting. i drove back the way we came to make sure she smelled the dead skunk again. it's that subtle moment of evil that brings me joy on days like these...

the Yankees played like shit yesterday. 1 fucking hit over 9 innings. what a joke. they lost to Seattle, 4-0. they start a series tonight in Houston. last series before the All-Star break.

it feels like it should have started raining about 10 hours ago...

 today has been gloomy as fuck. i don't think the sun has even bothered to fucking show itself yet. it has felt like, especially in my bad back, that it has been raining all day long. i haven't watered the tomatoes, hoping it would fucking rain at some point. these are the days where i wish i had just a little heroin to take the edge off.

the landscapers did a good job yesterday, other than putting the welcome sign in backwards. thankfully, their boss came out this morning and mom told him she wasn't going to pay him until he fixed it. he looked stunned at first and then saw what she was talking about. hopefully, we won't have the problem with weeds anymore in that bed.

it rained all of last night. i couldn't find a comfortable spot in bed for the life of me. i checked the rain gauge this morning and it was over 3.1 inches. fuck me. we did have some tornadoes in the area last night. one to the north of us, one to the east and i think two to the south. the satellite was out for a good portion of the night, but thankfully i only missed some of Smackdown.

i got to see most of the Hell in a Cell match between Rey Mysterio and Roman Reigns. from the highlights i saw, i really didn't miss much from the rest of the show.

 so, i was in my room trying to get this blog started, etc. and my mother was out in the garage working with some plants. next thing i know i hear the door open and she wants me to come out there because she spilled dirt all over the place. it's not that the garage is fucking spotless to begin with, it is my mother's inability to ask for fucking help, ever. so, as i was out there sweeping up and trying to get the dirt where she wants it, she fucking falls. she said repeatedly that she was fine and i replied with, now you have no fucking choice, you are using a walker everywhere you fucking go. and i get the feeling, i'm going to have to play the asshole and make her use it. like literally strap her fucking wrist to one. this is not how i wanted my Saturday to begin. oh, where is my sister you ask? she is out with her friends, who have always been more important than her family. my sister snapped at my mother last night when mom complained about being sore after 15 minutes of yoga. my sister tends to forget that mom nearly died 4 months ago. i know she doesn't want to think about it as then it would mean she has to face her own fears about death. and god forbid you realize that you are going to fucking die one day. i crossed that fucking bridge nearly 40 years ago. been looking forward to it ever since. so, i spent most of last night just listening to my mother cry and bitch about my sister. good times.

i went out looking for some baseball cards today, before i went to pick up my medication and get the stuff mom forgot on the grocery list. i used to have some good luck over at the Dollar Tree in the town i grew up in, so i went there first. i held the door open for this older black woman to go in before me and she declined. i chuckled and imagined myself back in high school during the LA riots. good times. they don't sell the cards anymore as they were getting stolen too much. same story for the Dollar Tree in the next town over. well fuck. i went to the grocery store and found everything but the fucking alcohol swabs, so i knew i was going to have to hit the Walgreen's across the street. i ran in there and found the swabs (200 of them) and then found some baseball cards that i figured, fuck it, i'll take the chance. $5 for a little over 100 cards. i had a couple decent cards in it, but nothing earth shattering. i get the feeling that i'm going to have to either drive 45 minutes or so to find anything decent for baseball cards or i'm going to have to swallow all my morals and fucking go to Walmart to find them. i'm not interested in that shitty option yet, so...
