i think i know the reason i got a decent night of sleep finally. i think the crack in my wall let some light in. thank you Leonard Cohen for that line. i know it was only a little over 4 hours, but it felt like a deep fucking sleep. emphasis on fucking of course.
i wrote 3 more poems last night for the book. i'm up to 20 now for the book, half way there. i'm really hoping i can get to 40 before my birthday. that would be impressive, at least to me.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at UMass, 76-72. another awful case of playing down to their competition and paying for it. all that good work they did in the non-conference part of their season has gone to waste.
AEW Dynamite was good last night.
Inside the NFL was very good last night.
Abbott Elementary was fucking hilarious last night.

i believe it all really started when i was living out at the farm by myself. i was on such a third shift schedule, that i would be up most of every night. so, every few days around 3 or 4 AM, i would just take a shower. now, the hope has always been that it would help me sleep better. the reality is it never has. last night, i never could find the right water temperature for my back, so i just tried to get it done as quickly as possible. now, when i do find the right water temperature, i try to loosen my back up as much as i can.
i did write 3 more poems last night. that brings my total to 6 for this month. the goal is usually to write a poem a day at the very least. i have fallen woefully short of that this year. good times.
i did watch plenty of sports yesterday.
the Yankees won game 1 of the doubleheader yesterday, 8-0. they lost game 2 to the Rangers, 9-4. hopefully, they will find a way to win today.
Manchester United lost yesterday against Manchester City. if they would have been clinical, they would have won the Community Shield. oh well.
the USWNT won the gold medal yesterday, beating Brazil, 1-0. first gold for them since 2012.
the USA men's basketball team won the gold yesterday, defeating France, 98-87.
AEW Collision was good last night.
team USA women's basketball won their 8th straight gold medal, defeating France 67-66, this morning.

so the contractor and project manager and the designer came out today to go over the plans for the kitchen. everything looks like it is good to go. they will be out here at 7:30 Monday morning to get started. now, how the fuck i'm going to be up at 7:30 on a Monday morning is a whole new ball of wax. considering i really don't get to bed until 4 AM most nights, oh boy. i was really relieved when he said we didn't need to move the kitchen table. and they seem like they should be able to get it done in under 2 weeks. i will be thrilled if they get it done that fast. i know the new countertops should be in by Thursday. and the contractor Joe seems like the kind of guy that wants to get shit done as fast as he can. that should definitely help with mom's anxiety. i'm just waiting for when the dishwasher goes in. fuck, i might cry.
i did watch plenty of that NFL game last night. Dallas came from behind to beat Seattle, 41-35.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
i have to admit, i did watch Friends in the 90's. of course, who didn't? i was saddened to see that Matthew Perry died yesterday. 54 years old is way too young. i know he had his problems with drugs over the years but i honestly thought he had made his way through that jungle to the other side. at the very least, Chandler Bing is one of the great TV characters of all time. he will always be remembered for that.
Ohio State won last night at Wisconsin, 24-10.
i did watch a good number of college football games yesterday.
the New York Rangers won last night in Vancouver, 4-3, in OT.

my arthritis was overjoyed yesterday and will be as well today. it rained most of yesterday and it is supposed to today as well. just how i want to spend a holiday weekend...
so, when Ohio State was down at halftime last night, i was not happy. but, i wasn't nearly as pissed as i used to be. Ohio State lost its best WR in the first half. i figured, with a few tweaks at halftime, they would get the job done. sure enough, after trailing at halftime to Notre Dame, 10-7, Ohio State defeated Notre Dame last night, 21-10. and they did it with a suffocating defense in the second half and by running the ball. i don't think this team will be labeled having a lack of toughness this season.
the Yankees had three hits yesterday. Aaron Judge had two of them, including his 52nd HR of the season. as you might have imagined, the Yankees lost last night down in that dump in Tampa, 2-1.
the USWNT defeated Nigeria yesterday, 4-0.
i liked most of WWE's Clash at the Castle yesterday. other than the fact i couldn't get the English feed to work out in the living room and had to watch it on my computer, i thought it was good. i would have loved to seen Roman Reigns lose the titles yesterday, but oh well.

so, i got in a really good nap this afternoon. get enough ice on the back and i'm out with a snap of the fingers. mom and i decided to get our absentee ballots done today. when i went to put the stamps on the envelopes, that was when i realized we only had 1 stamp let. well shit, time to make a trip to the post office. so, i pull up there and park on the street behind another SUV. that driver was coming out of the post office and sure enough, it was the cousin that molested me as a child. that is always the subtle reminder that no matter what good i do in the world, how nice i am to other people, how giving of my time i am, none of it fucking matters as the universe will always hate me.
i guess Kroger can't get the 2% eyedrops that mom needs in anymore. so, i get to take the 5% ones back, i have no clue when, and get the money back for them. i guess mom found the 2% ones on Amazon.com. of course, i guess that is where all of us will be getting our pills soon.
the Yankees lost last night, 3-0, to Toronto. hard to win when you only get 4 hits. hopefully, they will do better tonight.

the USWNT plays again tonight against Uzbekistan.
i have a full day of shit tomorrow. i have to have the Highlander to the dealership by 9:30 in the morning. i'm hoping the check engine light is nothing major. if all goes well, i will then have all the grocery shopping to do. and i will probably have to get gas at some point tomorrow. and try to do all of this while dealing with thunderstorms all day long. joy.
thanks to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
the New Orleans Saints whipped Green Bay yesterday, 38-3. Jameis Winston threw 5 touchdowns, the defense looked great, etc. etc. other than a few injuries, this might have been a perfect game for the Saints. what a way to start the season.
the Yankees lost last night to the Mets, 7-6. they play a makeup game today at home against the Twins. they are currently out of a playoff spot and i don't expect that to change anytime soon.
Scenes From a Marriage was excellent last night.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan was really good last night.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
yesterday was one of the more draining days i can remember here lately. between the Italy and England game to the Yankees pissing away another lead, to the USMNT struggling to say the least and then all the Sunday night shows... i really could have used some better sleep...
the Italy and England game to finish off the Euro 2020 tournament was a classic. Luke Shaw scored for England just 2 minutes into the game. England never could get that second one though. Italy tied it up in the second half. England's manager was way too fucking cautious with his subs. the match went to penalty kicks. England missed their last 3 kicks. and of course, since the last 3 taking shots for England were black, you can imagine all the racist shit that came out after that. Italy won 1-1 (3-2).
the Yankees were up 7-2 going into the bottom of the 9th yesterday at Houston. they pissed away that lead and gave up a walk off homer to Altuve (of course) and the Astros won, 8-7. if that isn't proof that they need to fire the manager and make a few trades to shake everything up, i don't know what will do it. fuck, they might have to fire the general manager as well since he thinks the team just needs to play better and will go down with the ship if he has to. fuck me.
the USMNT defeated Haiti last night, 1-0, to start off group play at the Gold Cup. they will need to be way more clinical if they actually want to succeed in this tournament.
i just found out that "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff has died. one of my favorite heels when i was kid. rest in peace.
here are your highlights from Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night:
Big Brother was good last night. clearly, this has been a disaster of an HOH for Frenchie.
The Chi was excellent last night.
Black Monday was hilarious last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was really good last night.
Desus & Mero was great last night.
The White Lotus was great last night. i think i am really going to enjoy this series.

if i get truly fucking bored tonight, i might watch some of the Home Run Derby.
i did listen to episode 351 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
so, i was in my room trying to get this blog started, etc. and my mother was out in the garage working with some plants. next thing i know i hear the door open and she wants me to come out there because she spilled dirt all over the place. it's not that the garage is fucking spotless to begin with, it is my mother's inability to ask for fucking help, ever. so, as i was out there sweeping up and trying to get the dirt where she wants it, she fucking falls. she said repeatedly that she was fine and i replied with, now you have no fucking choice, you are using a walker everywhere you fucking go. and i get the feeling, i'm going to have to play the asshole and make her use it. like literally strap her fucking wrist to one. this is not how i wanted my Saturday to begin. oh, where is my sister you ask? she is out with her friends, who have always been more important than her family. my sister snapped at my mother last night when mom complained about being sore after 15 minutes of yoga. my sister tends to forget that mom nearly died 4 months ago. i know she doesn't want to think about it as then it would mean she has to face her own fears about death. and god forbid you realize that you are going to fucking die one day. i crossed that fucking bridge nearly 40 years ago. been looking forward to it ever since. so, i spent most of last night just listening to my mother cry and bitch about my sister. good times.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
AEW was pretty good last night as well.
Betty was very good last night.
Pause with Sam Jay was hilarious last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and MLW.
the Yankees play this afternoon at Philadelphia.
i'm sure i'll watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight.
i am enjoying watching the Euro 2020 so far. Italy won yesterday 3-0 and i watched Wales and Switzerland finish up 1-1 this morning.
holy shit, i was watching Finland vs. Denmark and watched Christian Eriksen collapse. it doesn't look good and the match has been suspended.
my mother audibly screamed last night when she found out about the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. i told her i'm pretty sure the Republicans will ram through a nominee in the 6 weeks before the election, kindly forgetting the bullshit rules they established when Scalia died in Obama's presidency. i'd love to believe the American people are tired of this kind of hypocrisy, but i know more to actually believe that. the stupid fucks in this country believe god is on the side of the right, therefore they can do whatever the fuck they want. i can only imagine their sadness when they realize religion is all bullshit too.
the Yankees were down 4-0 last night early to the Red Sox. i didn't like their chances, but, the Red Sox are tanking their season. the Yankees came back to win 6-5 in 12 innings. that's 9 wins in a row. hopefully, tonight they make it to 10.
here are your highlights from the NBA last night:
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.
Room 104 was great last night.

i will probably watch some of Game 1 of the Stanley Sup Final between Dallas and Tampa Bay. there are a few former Rangers playing that i will be rooting for.
i'm sure i'll probably catch some of the NBA tonight as well as college football.
i got all my baseball card albums finished up last night. now, i have a much better sense of where everything is. and if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might actually start redoing the albums so they are either one year of the same cards and brand or the same brand cards over many years. that would make finding certain cards way fucking easier.
i have no damn clue if Manchester United is on television today. if not, i'll follow the game online. hopefully, they will start the season off with a victory.
since the Saints play on Monday night, i will probably be on here tomorrow before the Yankees play in the afternoon.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.
