 so, the mail hasn't been delivered yet, so i might as well get the blog done as i bide my time. i really hope the cards are in the mail today. i just want to get this shit over with.

the New York Rangers pissed away two different 2 goal leads last night and lost at Anaheim in OT, 5-4. hopefully, that will be the nail in the coffin for this team. i don't want them to make the playoffs just to get swept by Washington in the first round. they play tonight at San Jose. if they lose this game, it will be time to start benching players and play the fucking kids.

i did watch some of the college basketball games last night. i went 4-0 once again. on my original bracket, i got 7 out of the elite 8 right. not bad.

good friday...

 as some of you know and understand, i am not a very religious person. sometimes, i may be inclined to feel spiritual, but that is usually with the use of illegal substances. but, i know for many of you today is good friday. so, to each their own. i hope you enjoy.

the New York Yankees got down 4-0 yesterday at Houston. thankfully, this team didn't roll over like last season. they fought their way back to win the game 5-4. Juan Soto was huge on offense and defense. this is why they traded for him. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night at Colorado, 3-2, in the shootout. i love that the Rangers came from behind again and found a way to win. and i loved that they stopped Nathan McKinnon's point streak and how all the Colorado announcers whined like little babies about it after the game. as you can tell, i am ready for the playoffs.

learning to live with nerve pain...

 it isn't exactly something i want to do, but i don't really have a choice. i don't live in a state that is smart enough to make marijuana legal. so, whenever my right arm starts to radiate from the nerve pain, i like to think of it as a cyborg has taken over that arm. that i am now part machine. maybe that explains all the sleep i don't get. 

so, mom wanted me to take her to the local insurance place so she could make the payment on her life insurance. we got there and she had some steps to go up to get inside. thank god she took her pain pill. she managed to get inside pretty good. she gave the lady her name and then handed her the paperwork and a check. the lady informed mom that they no longer take payments for life insurance in the office. they have to be mailed in. now mind you, we were at the post office before we went to the insurance place. i asked mom if they told her this information when she called them yesterday. she said no. i went to McDonald's to get lunch and then took mom back home. of course, somehow, they got our order wrong. mom got what she wanted, of course, i didn't. mom found the envelope and put everything in it. i had to go back out to the local grocery store anyway since we were out of bread. i made my second trip to the post office and then found just about everything i was looking for at the grocery store. so, tomorrow it will just be a trip to Rite Aid and Kroger. good times.

American Song Contest was much better last night. i didn't like the song that won the night, but there were plenty of really good songs that i did like.

Better Things was excellent last night.

Monday Night Raw was good last night. i can't wait for this weekend.

i hate losing more than i love winning...

 so, yesterday was one of those days where all it took was just one loss and it fucked up the whole damn day.

the New York Rangers lost to Washington, 5-4. i figured that was going to happen. hell, i'm just hapy they showed some life after getting down 3-0.

the USMNT defeated Northern Ireland, 2-1 yesterday. that was the USA's first win on European soil in years. that made me happy.

the USMNT Under 23's lost to Honduras, 2-1 yesterday. that means they will miss the Olympics yet again. i think i am still pissed at this loss.

the Yankees lost yesterday to the Phillies, 6-2. they lost to the Tigers today, 5-2. thank god, that is the last spring training game. Thursday will be Opening Day, weather permitting of course.

i did watch some of the college basketball games yesterday...

the finale of The Luminaries was good last night.

Shameless was great last night. only two more episodes remain.

i did take mom to her appointment today with her foot doctor. i think this will be the last time she will see him since he's retiring. i have no clue who mom is going to use next. there aren't very many anywhere near us. we had to wait as we got there early and they were having lunch. i believe one of the drug reps brought in some food.

nearly saw a wreck on the way home on the freeway. nothing good comes from big trucks and elderly drivers. thankfully, there were no cops around.

i believe i may have a new muse. i haven't been happy with my poems here lately. i came across this one woman on MeWe that is striking as hell. i started chatting her up and asked if i could write about her. she said yes and my imagination got wet. so, i wrote the first of what will be many poems (hopefully) this morning. 

so, tomorrow around this time i will be getting my first vaccine shot. i am looking forward to it.

we had a few storms roll through here yesterday. most of the big shit missed us. today, it's a constant wind. 25 MPH with gusts into the 50's. joy. i'm trying to let the house air out a bit, but i'm not stupid enough to open all the windows and enjoy the chaos.

just enough rain to be miserable...

i saw the woman that works at the post office in town at the grocery store today. if she only knew how many times she has appeared in my dirty dreams...

i did pretty well at the grocery stores today. the goal is to keep everything under $100. when it shakes out at $115 and mom had you buy some stuff that isn't what she normally needs, i take it as a win.

the New York Yankees won yesterday over the Orioles, 7-2. Luke Voit is well on his way to becoming a legend and with everyone else in the division losing, the Yankees are in first place. the series continues with games on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

i did watch the college basketball games last night. other than the Purdue and Tennessee classic, the rest of the games weren't that watchable. hopefully the games tonight are better.

here comes the flood...

the forecast today called for scattered showers. it's been a constant rain all fucking day. you could imagine just how fucking happy i have been.

thankfully, the New York Yankees are doing their part to make me forget about the pain. they are currently up 5-0 in the 8th inning. Giancarlo Stanton's first swing in a Yankee uniform ended up in the right center seats. this is going to be a fun season.

mom wanted to come along today to the post office and the grocery store. for some damn reason, the roll of stamps i asked her to get turned into 2 books of stamps. i asked her if there was a reason for that and she said no, i wasn't thinking. lovely. and i'm not supposed to be worried about her.

the grocery store was interesting. it was fucking pouring outside and you could tell just about everyone inside the store was in a shitty mood. i got 3 bottles of liquor; some coconut rum, some Jim Beam Fire and a bottle of brandy. i've been reading too many studies that say stubborn alcoholics live longer. i figured i better up my game to prove that shit wrong.

amazingly we got out of there with a bill under $100.

thankfully, nothing got too wet before i got it into the vehicle.

and i got back home before the Yankees game started.

The Voice last night was a recap of the season so far. the knockouts are next up.

NXT was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night at Washington, 3-2. The King was back last night and that was the only reason they got a point they truly didn't need.

Good Friday? i guess...

so, the New York Rangers laid the egg i feared last night, and now are tied for the final playoff spot with the Islanders. if we miss the playoffs and those ass clowns make it, i'll be quickly transported back to my youth in the early 80's. please, god no.

also, only got 2 of the 4 college basketball games right last night and one of the losses was, of course, a team i had playing in the title game. i have to have Louisville win it all just to be over .500 on my main bracket. this is the absolute worst i have ever done on this, and that goes back to 1986.

so, needless to say, i was a bit pissy this morning and didn't take the camera into town. but, i did take some photos on the farm a bit ago. below are my favorite 3 of the 17 i took.

the Rangers play Saturday night in Montreal. i'll do my best to avoid that disaster as they never play well up there. NEVER!  i think it's been over 3 games since they have scored up there. not good.
