up early on a Monday...

we had storms roll through here last night. the wind was really bad. i brought the recyclables in so i wouldn't spend the morning picking them up everywhere. i took them back out at 7 this morning. i found it a little interesting that no one else had and still hasn't put anything back out. part of me wonders if the fuckers picked up the shit during the storm last night or people just decided fuck it, wait until Thursday.

the New Orleans Saints lost at home yesterday to the Raiders, 25-10. i'm really hoping the Saints just blow everything up after this season and start over.

team USA lost to Finland in OT yesterday, 4-3, at the World Juniors.

The Agency was very good last night.

Dexter Original Sin was really good last night.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:

Manchester United plays today at home against Newcastle.

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight, Lions at 49ers.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Florida. i doubt watch much of that. the players have quit on the coach and it is fucking obvious.

i will probably be on here early tomorrow. i have some end of the year news to share... i think.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

hello depression, it's me again...

so, yeah... my left shoulder is killing me, i think it might be a pinched nerve. my left elbow is killing me, i have no fucking clue what that is. my right knee is killing me, i believe that is all arthritis. and given all that pain and a bad back, today was one of those days spent in the massage chair hoping the ice freezes my spinal cord so the central nervous system no longer works. somedays i get really lucky and the ice does the trick. and then there are the days where nothing fucking works, even alcohol, and depression enters the room and sets up shop. now, don't worry, i'm not suicidal. i doubt that creeps in my mind anytime before my mother leaves this earth. i don't think i want her to be the one to find me whenever that (if ever) happens. what concerns me is my lack of wanting to be creative anymore when the darkness comes. it seems like all the water has been squeezed from the rock now. and tends to let me try to think about an unknown future. and as much as that should excite my imagination, the depression doesn't allow such nonsense. so yeah, welcome to Tuesday...

The Voice was good last night. i believe tonight is the end of the blinds.

Perry Mason was very good last night.

Monday Night Raw was good last night. hard to believe WrestleMania is just over a week away.

the New York Knicks lost last night at home to Minnesota, 140-134.

hello Saturday...

so i tossed and turned all night after a nice conversation with my beautiful friend in Colorado. she's one i would love to spend the rest of my life with, although i don't think she's that interested. but, toss in some poetry and drugs and you pretty much get the drift of my endless dream last night.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was great last night.

Bitchin': The Sound and Fury of Rick James was excellent last night.

the Yankees won last night over Baltimore, 4-3 in 11 innings. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon.

i hate losing more than i love winning...

so, yesterday was one of those days where all it took was just one loss and it fucked up the whole damn day.

the New York Rangers lost to Washington, 5-4. i figured that was going to happen. hell, i'm just hapy they showed some life after getting down 3-0.

the USMNT defeated Northern Ireland, 2-1 yesterday. that was the USA's first win on European soil in years. that made me happy.

the USMNT Under 23's lost to Honduras, 2-1 yesterday. that means they will miss the Olympics yet again. i think i am still pissed at this loss.

the Yankees lost yesterday to the Phillies, 6-2. they lost to the Tigers today, 5-2. thank god, that is the last spring training game. Thursday will be Opening Day, weather permitting of course.

i did watch some of the college basketball games yesterday...

VICE was excellent last night.

Batwoman was really good last night.

the finale of The Luminaries was good last night.

Shameless was great last night. only two more episodes remain.

City on a Hill was really good last night. this looks like it is going to be another great season of the show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Monday Night Raw and The Voice.

i did listen to episode 336 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i did take mom to her appointment today with her foot doctor. i think this will be the last time she will see him since he's retiring. i have no clue who mom is going to use next. there aren't very many anywhere near us. we had to wait as we got there early and they were having lunch. i believe one of the drug reps brought in some food.

nearly saw a wreck on the way home on the freeway. nothing good comes from big trucks and elderly drivers. thankfully, there were no cops around.

i believe i may have a new muse. i haven't been happy with my poems here lately. i came across this one woman on MeWe that is striking as hell. i started chatting her up and asked if i could write about her. she said yes and my imagination got wet. so, i wrote the first of what will be many poems (hopefully) this morning.

so, tomorrow around this time i will be getting my first vaccine shot. i am looking forward to it.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

one of those nights where you might as well sleep on the floor...

if it wasn't one thing, it was another last night. way too many emails that i needed to open and my computer was running like shit. i was so fucking tired, i nearly fell asleep at the computer. i'm sure i would have ended up on the floor by the time the morning came around. it doesn't really matter, i only got 4 fucking hours of sleep anyway. and i guess i get to finish up the cleaning today. joy.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

i'm not really sure what i'm going to do today. i'd love to get some more sleep after i get the shit i need to do around the house done. it's one of those dreary ass days where the sun doesn't exist anymore.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow, before my sister gets down here.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. hopefully the weather is better wherever you happen to be.

happy 4/20 day

welcome to the 20th day of National Poetry Month. today, i want to shine a bright light, bright enough to get through all the pot smoke, on my friend and great poet, Doug Draime. Doug is easily one of the best poets around. catch me on the right day and i would put Doug up there with the greats of all-time. please enjoy the links and do yourself a favor and BUY something. Doug and i might have some news to pass along in the coming months. hopefully, more on that in the summer. enjoy the links my friends:

today always brings back the memories of when i used to smoke weed. that was one of the only ways i think i could make it through my teenage years. and honestly, if my mother wasn't allergic (i've always doubted that) to it, i would be an avid grower and smoker of it. they are trying to make it completely legal in Ohio. fuck, i might have to get registered to vote again.

i think i might have worked nearly all day long yesterday helping mom in the garage. we got a lot done. it's more organized chaos now than just a fucking mess.

it didn't help that it rained nearly all of yesterday. and then this morning, yet another cold front moved through. this one will get everyone sick as the wind chills are going to be back in the 30's. so much for wearing shorts.

the New York Yankees completed the sweep yesterday in Tampa, 5-3. that gets them back to .500 and just 1 game out of first place in the division. of course, they are now in Detroit to start a very tough series tonight.

the New York Rangers play Game 3 of their series against the Penguins tonight in Pittsburgh. hopefully the best road team in the league shows it tonight.

also on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, Gotham and The Voice.

i suppose i'm either going to be up real late or up real early to catch up on everything tonight.

i'm cutting this a bit short today as i need to go over to the farm and feed the cats, find the trash cans, etc. etc. i guess mom heard back from the guy doing the auction for the farm. 8 families came through on Saturday for the first open house. he told her that all of them seemed very interested. god, i hope he's right. i would love for the property to go for somewhere near $500,000. that would make life so much easier for my mother. might even help me a little.

i do hope everyone had a great weekend. enjoy the purple have today kids.

sensory overload

next time i think it's a good decision to go to the store around 5 PM on a weekday, either talk sense into me or shoot me in the fucking head. too many people, way too many children, not everything stocked... the only good thing was nearly all the checkout lines were open and the woman bagging our groceries didn't bite my head off when i asked for some things in paper bags.

we went to the tractor supply store before that to get food for the zoo out here. i believe my cat Tolstoy might be on the dead list. haven't seen it in about 2 weeks. 2 more and it'll be scratched off the list.

was happy for Zach last night on Big Brother. i'm pretty sure Nicole will be leaving tonight. hopefully the next HOH will be able to get Frankie or Christine out next.

Wilfred was great last night. a nice mix of sadness and laughs. plus, most of the questions got answered. definitely a show that i will miss.

The Bridge was great again last night. i loved the ending. can't wait to see where it goes next week.

i also watched Brew Dogs on the Esquire Network last night. i try to catch that show when i can. one, just in case i travel, i'll know where the good bars are. two, i love beer. i highly recommend the show if you do as well.

after Big Brother tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're The Worst on FX.

i caught part 2 of The Jim Norton Show today on vice.com. if you love comics busting each other's balls, go check it out.

the Yankees had a lead last night. but, since the manager only trusts 2 relievers, he rolled the dice last night and tried to get 3 innings from a guy who normally doesn't go longer than 2. sure enough, he gives up a tying home run in the 3rd inning of work. and then, in comes a guy he doesn't trust, and he gives up a 3 run homer. the Yankees got back a run in the 9th and at least gave themselves a chance to tie the game, but, as is the story of this season, they came up short. a 5-3 loss that makes it more and more likely that Jeter's last season will be like Mo's last season. one with no playoffs. thankfully, they are off tonight before they go down to play in that dump in Tampa.

i feel bad for my mother. she's under so much stress and her ear is starting to fuck with her again. i had a conversation yesterday with her trying to make her understand why she is stressed and why she shouldn't be. mom is the kind of person that just wants to do her job, do it well, get paid accordingly, and go about her life. sadly, she picked the wrong profession, as she works with a bunch of glory fuckers. i related it like this: they don't want to find the cure for cancer, they simply want their name on it. this is where her stress comes from as she's not a glory fucker. i told her to either become one or quit giving a shit that they are. all i'm really trying to do is make sure she doesn't croak anytime soon. at least not until more of the bills are paid off.

yes, yes, i know, i'm going to hell for that last line. i'm trying to enjoy the ride.

well, that's all for me kids. see you tomorrow.

be well. be cool. be creative. be quick to send me CASH, love letters, panties, hate mail, broken promises, and old baseball cards.

another late night

i was up again pretty late last night/this morning. but, this time i was busy doing some poetry work. i went through my poems and came up with 21 poems to send out later this week. i'm planning on sending to two places i have never sent before, so that's always interesting. more on that in the coming days.

i woke up to a lovely email from someone who i'm really hoping becomes someone special in my life.

ROH last night was excellent. all of the matches were top notch. if they ever get a major television deal, they could give the WWE a run for their money.

the Yankees were stopped yesterday by some great pitching and them sadly reverting back to what they did earlier this season. they couldn't get a hit with a runner in scoring position to save their life. they lost 3-0. they play again this afternoon to try to win the series.

the Paul O'Neill ceremony was very nice. it certainly brought back some great memories.

it will be another busy night of television tonight. Big Brother, Ray Donovan, The Strain, Last Week Tonight, and finally Masters of Sex. after all that, i'd love to get some sleep.

it certainly feels like it is going to rain today. i haven't taken down the trash yet. i'm waiting in hopes i will have a victory beer to recycle later this afternoon. it was really humid this morning when i was feeding the cats. watched Whitey take a piss and then try to rub up against me. i don't think she expected me to swat her away as quickly as i did. i did enjoy watching the three new kittens playing around with each other. once of these days i'll try to get a video or pictures of them.

that is all for me today. i hope this finds everyone having a great end to their weekend.

be well. be cool. be creative. be easy.

slow news day

so i was watching the news this afternoon about the plane crash in the Ukraine. i fell asleep. i woke up to Israel starting a ground operation in the Gaza Strip. except in my mind, it was the same event. so i'm flipping through the channels thinking WW3 is starting. i eventually took a shower to make sure i was really awake.

mom made some really good turkey burgers for lunch. i think she may have sprinkled on some extra tryptophan on them. at least that's what i'm going with for the long nap this afternoon.

i watched Big Brother last night, just to really see how Donny beat Devin in the POV competition. that made me laugh out loud. so, thankfully, Devin will be evicted tonight and i can go back to enjoying the show.

other than Big Brother tonight, i'm going to try the new comedies on FX, Married and You're the Worst. hopefully the previews didn't have all the good parts. i love some good crass humor.

Wilfred was really good last night. i love how they are doing this final season.

The Bridge was creepy as fuck last night. just when i think that show can't get any better, it proves me wrong.

since i'm not a big fan of golf, there really isn't much sports going on today. thankfully, that will change in the next week or so.

amazingly, the humidity held off for another day here. so, the windows are still open.

my mom and sister went in on some hockey tickets for the Columbus Blue Jackets. i think they did a quarter season. all i know is i get to see my beloved New York Rangers twice next season. it's always fun to wear the enemy colors into a building. of course, when the Rangers aren't playing, i'll just be a fan for those games.

i heard a Todd Snider song on the radio yesterday as i was scrubbing the toilets. thankfully, i found the full, uncensored song on iTunes this morning. i've been playing the shit out of it today.

that's pretty much all for me today. hopefully this finds everyone well. and hopefully no one reading this had anyone on that plane today.

here comes the fireworks

i don't ever recall a July 3rd in my life that i haven't had the air conditioner on. i came down this morning and was able to open up the house. and better yet, leave it open all damn day long. the humidity is gone, replaced with a cool breeze. probably the last time this will ever happen in my life, so i might as well enjoy it.

i sent off 6 poems today to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from them, i will pass along the verdicts.

the Yankees lost yet again yesterday, 6-3. sadly, they are still only 4 1/2 games out of first place. the whole damn division fucking sucks this year. they play tonight in Minnesota. Tanaka is pitching, so at least they will have a chance to win.

i did watch Big Brother and Wilfred last night. i mostly knew what was going to happen on Big Brother as i follow a couple of blogs that document the daily ins and outs. Wilfred had me laughing as always last night. hopefully they will go out with a bang this final season.

tonight, i'll be watching the live episode of Big Brother. sadly, Joey will be voted out tonight. she reminds me of my girlfriend when i was 23. almost a dead ringer for her. hopefully, Devin will be the next one out. completely useless. i'll be interested in how they will decide the 2 HOH's tonight.

i also watched that tree house show last night. fuck, i wish i had $86,000 to blow on a tree house. that's some serious fuck you money.

i'm gearing up for the cats to panic with the fireworks coming. it's usually not that bad out here in the sticks but the assholes next door like to drink. so, i fully expect an explosion around 2 in the morning or so.

i took advantage of the good weather and filled up all the bird feeders today. that should be enough food for the entire holiday weekend.

that's pretty much all for me today. i will be on here early tomorrow before the World Cup games.

hope this finds everyone well. if you happen to be traveling for the 4th of July, be safe. enjoy your trip. and fight the urge to leave one of the kids behind.

be well my enemies. back to your regularly scheduled programming.

so much for feeling good...

i made the mistake last night of eating Taco Bell. i rarely do this and i am not exactly sure why i fucking ate it last night. needless to say, after 4 trips to the shitter this morning and both of my legs swelling up because of all the salt, i won't be making that mistake again. EVER.

so, i didn't go out today as i was thinking i was going to. instead, spent the day here feeling like shit while watching the games.

was doing really good on my brackets, even called the Duke upset right, until UMass and New Mexico fucked me royally. so much for that chance to actually win some money. oh well.

the New York Rangers play in Columbus tonight in yet another MUST win. basically, all of the games for the rest of the season are playoff games.

best of luck to my high school alma mater on their game tonight in the final 4 of the state basketball finals.

found out today that Manchester United plays Bayern Munich in the next round of the Champions League. it will probably take more than miracles to get past that team. United plays Saturday afternoon against West Ham. no RVP for this game as he has a knee injury that is going to keep him out for 6 weeks. i swear, for every small step this team takes forward they end up falling 5 or 6 behind.

i'll be on here tomorrow probably after that game. and well before the Dayton Flyers take on Syracuse Saturday night. i have a good feeling about the game, not that that means anything.

hope everyone has a great weekend. i would make this longer but i'm trying to keep my legs elevated as best as i can. and since i have no laptop and suck at typing upside down, i feel like these blog posts will be getting shorter for the time being.

until tomorrow my enemies...

march madness

the weather today has been spooky. got up to 50 degrees, which was great. although i do know that will provide the fuel for the storms coming tomorrow. i made sure to get most of the shit i do on Sundays done today; trash, toilets, the dirty work down in the cellar... i still have the dishes to do but i wanted to give these old bones a break. i feel like this pinched nerve has aged me like 20 years in the last month or so.

the Dayton Flyers started out with a pulse for the first time in 3 games. they only trailed by a point at halftime. and then, for one of the rare times this season, they started the second half on fire. 9 straight points to give them the lead for the rest of the game. a HUGE win, 86-79. that should put them right back on the NCAA bubble.

unfortunately, the New York Rangers couldn't make it a double victory beer afternoon for me. they got outworked, out muscled, and outplayed at times by Philly, losing 4-2. hopefully, they erase that game from their minds pretty damn quickly as they play Boston tomorrow night at home.

i did catch a little of the New York Yankees game today. the main 3 starters all pitched 2 scoreless innings today. a very decent way to start their spring training. 4-0 win today over the Phillies.

my disjointed sleep is continuing. feels like anytime i sit back in my chair, i'm out in 20 minutes. and i had the hardest time falling back asleep in my bed last night. felt like any position i got in, i was in pain. then it becomes this mind fuck battle royale. i believe after 30 minutes or so, my brain blocked the pain for the most part and i was able to fall asleep. of course, 45 minutes later i was up for the day. good times.

hopefully, my old ass can stay awake tonight. after watching some outdoor hockey in Chicago, i'm hoping to watch the new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight with Jim Parsons and Beck. that should be awesome. and, a new episode of ROH tonight as well. if i can make it all the way without falling asleep, i'll be shocked.

i'll be back on here tomorrow sometime, hopefully. this storm is supposed to start early, and i'm hoping to get the cats fed before it gets too bad. i'm really hoping we don't get a ton of ice like it looks like we're going to get. last thing i or my mother needs is the power to go out. and we've had some nasty ice storms in the past here on the farm. if it does freeze over bad, i'll try to get some pictures.

hope everyone is having a decent start to their weekend. and hopefully the weather is better than you expected it to be.

later bitches.

and now, the melting begins

we had an ice storm move through here last night that started off with some thunder. the weather this winter is straight out of a fucking b-movie. thankfully, it wasn't enough ice to bring down power lines or knock down any trees. although, i did wake up to plenty of branches down in the yard. when i saw how icy it was this morning, i didn't bother to even try to deal with it. i tried to get some more sleep as the sun started to make an appearance. thankfully, it damn near got to 50 today and melt most of the ice. it looks like it will be above freezing for the rest of the week. that should melt most of the snow and leave a good bit of mud everywhere. that will make it fun walking over to feed the cats.

i was in and out of the hockey action today at the Winter Olympics. the quarterfinals are now set. Sweden plays Slovenia, Finland plays Russia, USA plays Czech Republic, and Canada plays Latvia. i feel pretty good in predicting Sweden, USA, and Canada will win. i have no damn clue in the Finland vs. Russia game. i could see both teams winning.

i fell asleep last night before the main event of Monday Night Raw. after checking YouTube, i didn't really miss much. the match between Cesaro and Cena last night was great. sadly, the wrong guy won.

i did wake up in time to watch The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. i enjoyed it. you could tell Jimmy was nervous as hell. this was really fucking funny:

and U2 doing their new song on the roof with that sunset was amazing. beyond picturesque. i was happy i woke up to watch it. it'll certainly get tricky for me when it is going up against Letterman. thankfully, Jimmy puts most of the damn show up on YouTube. that certainly helps.

the beauty or horror of the chili i make is 12 hours later and you are planted on the toilet. as my mother put it this morning, i guess both of us are cleaned the fuck out now. you're welcome for the visual.

i really don't know what i'm going to watch tonight. i'm getting the itch to do some writing. that may happen here soon. most likely after my next visit to the doctor on Thursday. i have spent most of the day listening to music. and watching Barcelona beat Manchester City in Champions League play. so much for Shitty's coach saying that they were the only club in Manchester. i always love when those fuckers get humbled.

that's all for me. i'll be on here tomorrow after all the hockey games. and hopefully sipping on a victory beer. i hope this finds everyone well.

peace and chicken grease.
