i had all these plans today. i was having a good morning and was getting ready to go to the post office. i got an ice pack as i wanted to ice my back before i went. and then the plan was to come home and start my laundry. well, apparently i must have got the ice on the right spot as i fell asleep and woke up 4 hours later. holy shit. i saw the time and was stunned. of course, i was sweating, so i looked to see what the temperature was in the house. 77. oh fuck. i shut all the windows and doors and turned the air on. at least my back felt better.
so yeah, i guess tomorrow will be my busy day.
the Yankees won yesterday against the Rangers, 8-7. they start a series tonight on the road at the White Sox. these are games the Yankees have to win. the White Sox fucking suck this year.
i did watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics. it was good. and overall, i thought the Olympics were really good.
Big Brother was good last night.
Industry was fucking great last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and Name That Tune.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i did catch some of the NASCAR race last night. i wasn't exactly thrilled with the finish since i had money on Denny Hamlin to win the race.
i should be on here sometime tomorrow. kind of depends on if my back hijacks my day again i guess.
i need to go figure out dinner.
until tomorrow kids...

i figured the sun and great weather wouldn't last. and of course, it will be stormy on the day i do my grocery shopping. joy. i did get mom to her appointment with her ear doctor. i wrote one poem while i was there. i was hoping for more but glad i got the one out. i had the opening line for the poem in my head for the last 3 days.
here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:
the New York Rangers won last night at home against Ottawa, 4-0. the playoffs will start for them this weekend. they will play whatever team wins the last playoff spot in the East.
the Yankees lost last night at Toronto, 3-1. hopefully, they will win tonight.
i saw the news last night that Koby Brea will transfer from Dayton for his final year in college basketball. i was a bit sad about it but not shocked. i'm hoping he goes to a big school and gets plenty of exposure and gets to realize his NBA dream.
when i got up at 7:35 this morning, i said to myself, why the fuck am i up this early? i'm guessing my body is just so used to less than 5 hours of sleep, it doesn't remember how to sleep longer than that. joy.
the New York Yankees won yesterday against the Cubs, 6-3.today is the last game before the All-Star break.
i did watch some of the Gold Cup last night. Panama and Mexico both advanced. today, Guatemala and Jamaica face off before the USA plays Canada. here are some highlights from yesterday.
here are some MLS highlights from last night:
AEW Collision was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Righteous Gemstones.
i wrote 3 poems last night for a project i am hoping to be a part of. more on that in the coming weeks.
the USWNT plays Wales today in their sendoff match before the Women's World Cup.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
where to begin... yesterday was damn near perfect. one fucking point away from one of those days and nights i would remember until i was dead. you already know about the Manchester United victory yesterday, so let's pick up where we left off.
the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at Davidson, 69-55.
team USA defeated Finland yesterday, 6-2, at the World Juniors. that means the USA won Group B and will face Germany in the quarterfinals.
the New York Knicks won last night at Houston, 108-88.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
now, the only blemish from last night. Ohio State lost to Georgia, 42-41. Ohio State missed a field goal with 8 seconds left that would have won the game and gave them the chance to win the national championship against TCU, who upset Michigan in the first semifinal. this is one of those losses that will keep me up at night for years.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be George & Tammy.
the New Orleans Saints play today at Philadelphia. if the Saints lose, they will be eliminated from playoff contention.
the New York Rangers play today at the Florida Panthers.
so, roughly about 10 minutes after Ohio State lost last night, i placed my first legal bet on Draft Kings. since i have 8 free $25 bets to use by January 7th, i figure i might as well start now. if i get this parlay bet on the 49ers to hit today, the payout is $118.75.
a big thank to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
as i was taking a shower last night at 3:30 AM after shaving, i was trying to come up with something resembling a poem. and the more i tried, the more i realized i had nothing. this might be my first case of writer's block in years. i guess one of these nights it will be time for a little jack daniels and a trip down memory lane to rattle the cages once again.
today has been a busy one for me. i might have got almost 3 hours of sleep last night. i woke up this morning and made some coffee. after checking my emails, i started on breakfast. i told mom i was doing biscuits and gravy as i know she can only have so much of it to fit into her sodium restrictions. and i remembered how she told me about the cold biscuits and gravy she got at the nursing home. she told me after her first bite how much better this was than there. she just got delivered her food for her recovery. it was supposed to come yesterday. i'm happy that it did arrive. even happier i was able to fit the shit in the freezer. now, after i get this done, i need to vacuum the house, make dinner (pork chops, glazed apples and mashed potatoes) and then help mom pay her bills, on time this time.
the New York Rangers played like shit last night and lost at home to Chicago, 5-2. i'm not sure why they fucking suck at home this season.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.
i wasn't surprised when Ohio State made the college football playoffs. i figured once USC lost to Utah, the Buckeyes were going to get the #4 seed. they will take on Georgia in the playoffs.
today at the World Cup, France defeated Poland, 3-1. England beat Senegal, 3-0. France vs. England should be a classic when they face each other in the quarterfinals.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
so, today is the start of the college basketball season. i almost wish the Dayton Flyers weren't playing tonight so i could stay home and watch all the games tonight. Dayton will be playing Illinois-Chicago. Dayton is a 14.5 point favorite. i think they will win, but i wouldn't touch that line in a million years. Dayton is very young this year and i have no clue how they will play against older players at the same level. that being said, this could be a more talented team in a few spots than the team that went 29-2 a few years ago.
the New York Rangers defeated Florida last night, 4-3. that was Florida's first loss in regulation this season. i was a little nervous at the end, as it seemed like the Rangers were inventing new ways to blow a 3rd period lead. but thankfully, Igor stood on his head and the Rangers didn't piss away that 4-0 lead. they are off until Saturday now.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
i did watch some of that crazy ending last night between the Bears and Steelers.
The Voice was great last night. it should be interesting to see who gets cut tonight.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT and The Voice.
i need to take mom to her foot doctor today. before i do that, i want to shave and shower. i feel i will probably get the trash picked up before i leave for the game.
i put the ESPN app on my mother's phone yesterday. i figured it would be easier for her to watch the Dayton games on her phone so she doesn't have to mess with the television to find it. most technology these days makes her more anxious than ever. and anxiety has always been a problem for her.
i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
thanks for checking out my latest published poems:
before i get to the Ohio State ass whipping last night, a little poetry news.
i sent out 29 poems today. 3 each to Yellow Mama, Terror House Magazine and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication), The Ramingo's Porch and Misfit Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdict.
so, when Ohio State had to settle for a field goal last night in the second quarter, i feared the worst. it was painfully obvious that even if the defense was at full strength, they couldn't keep the speed of Alabama from killing them. and sure enough, i turned the damn game off before halftime. i might have watched 3 or 4 minutes of the second half. and i have watched enough football in my life to know that Alabama was good enough that there would be no what ifs... even allowed in the game. now, it sucked that Ohio State lost their running back on the first play of the game. but, i did like what Ryan Day told his team. no one is going to feel sorry for you. there's a coach that keeps it real all the time. so, hats off to Alabama for winning the national championship. they earned it and they deserve it. Alabama won 52-24.
Monday Night Raw was a little crazy last night. Drew McIntyre tested positive for Covid, so that made everything even crazier than usual. now, i did enjoy the end of the show, which was even more fucking nuts. but, when you have Alexa Bliss shooting fire and blinding Randy Orton... i'm in.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.
i did watch the Manchester United game this afternoon at Burnley. if United got anything out of the game, they would go top of the league for the first time after the new year in 8 fucking years. thanks to a brilliant strike from Paul Pogba, United won 1-0. they are now 3 points ahead of Liverpool, who they happen to play this weekend. that alcohol is going to taste so damn good tonight.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
i have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

when i checked the rain gauge this morning at 10 AM, it was at 3.5 inches of rain. i just checked it again before i started writing this and there's another .4 in it. even if i wanted to go to the bank today, there would be no way for me to get to it given that every road i would have taken would have some section of it under water. joy.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Voice was excellent last night. i have no damn clue who is going to win tonight. all 5 of them are deserving.
Songland was really good last night.
Fuck That's Delicious was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the season finale of The Voice, The Masked Singer, Deadliest Catch, Dark Side of the Ring and WWE Backstage.
we had a few storms roll through here yesterday. most of the big shit missed us. today, it's a constant wind. 25 MPH with gusts into the 50's. joy. i'm trying to let the house air out a bit, but i'm not stupid enough to open all the windows and enjoy the chaos.
ROH was pretty good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Westworld, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Black Monday and The iHeart Living Room Concert.
i got a few poems in mind that i'm going to turn into SoundCloud recordings. i think that's going to be my contribution to National Poetry Month in April.
hard to believe April will be here soon.

i think my body just gave up last night. i actually was able to sleep in my bed for more than 3 hours straight. and it wasn't that i wasn't in pain or my arm wasn't killing me. i think exhaustion just won over the pain last night.
the New York Yankees won yesterday over Arizona, 7-5. they didn't do shit with the trade deadline. they made a minor league trade. so, i guess the Yankees are betting on themselves. it's foolish, given that no one knows how the injured pitchers are going to do if/when they come back. in my opinion, Houston probably just won themselves the World Series yesterday with the trades they made. i hope i'm wrong, only time will tell.
NXT and NXT UK were both really good yesterday.
Snowfall was excellent last night.
Big Brother was good last night.
Unmasking Jihadi John: Anatomy of a Terrorist was really fucking good last night. it's another documentary that i suggest everyone should watch.
