up too early on a Thursday...

so, the reason the check engine light was on in the Highlander was due to the same damn reason as three times before. the hose that goes into the air box came loose. as the guy at the dealership told me, that should never happen. so, me made a note in my account and also didn't charge me anything. now, if i could just get that hour back in the waiting room watching fox news. holy shit, no wonder so many people in this country are fucking dumb.

here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:

the Yankees won last night at home against Oakland, 7-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

the season finale of American Horror Story was good last night.

NJPW was very good last night.

AEW was ok at best last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon.

the first round of the NFL Draft is tonight. i imagine i will watch some of that.

i am running on roughly 3 hours of sleep, so at some point i will crash, that's for certain.

i did get 2 poems written today. i was hoping for a lot more than that. but, i can only squeeze so much water out of the rock anymore.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then...

i should be used to waking up in pain by now...

ok, i had a whole blog planned and what i was going to say and then i saw this shit...

https://www.tmz.com/2020/01/26/kobe-bryant-killed-dead-helicopter-crash-in-calabasas/

i really fucking hope that isn't true, but i have learned my lesson about not believing shit i see on TMZ. 41 fucking years old. way too soon. rest in peace...

i did watch a good amount of the NHL All-Star game last night. it was really good.

Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

ROH was good last night.

WWE Worlds Collide: NXT vs. NXT UK was fucking amazing last night. it set the bar really high for the Royal Rumble tonight.

the Dayton Flyers won at Richmond last night, 87-79. good teams win, great teams cover the spread. Dayton plays again on the road on Wednesday at Duquesne. Dayton is 7-0 in conference play and 18-2 overall. they haven't lost in regulation yet this season. here's Richmond's coach talking about the Flyers after the game:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, the season finale of Shameless, Our Cartoon President, The Outsider, Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Power. i'll be watching the Royal Rumble on WWE Network for most of the evening.

i'll probably watch a little of the Grammy Awards tonight as well.

Manchester United won this morning in the FA Cup 6-0. where the fuck has that been all season?

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm in a bit of a daze at the moment. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

until tomorrow kids...

Todavía tenía mucho que ofrecer al mundo.

hello, my name is... exhaustion

i think my body just gave up last night. i actually was able to sleep in my bed for more than 3 hours straight. and it wasn't that i wasn't in pain or my arm wasn't killing me. i think exhaustion just won over the pain last night.

the New York Yankees won yesterday over Arizona, 7-5. they didn't do shit with the trade deadline. they made a minor league trade. so, i guess the Yankees are betting on themselves. it's foolish, given that no one knows how the injured pitchers are going to do if/when they come back. in my opinion, Houston probably just won themselves the World Series yesterday with the trades they made. i hope i'm wrong, only time will tell.

NXT and NXT UK were both really good yesterday.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

Big Brother was good last night.

Unmasking Jihadi John: Anatomy of a Terrorist was really fucking good last night. it's another documentary that i suggest everyone should watch.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Holey Moley, Big Brother, Baskets and Desus & Mero.

i did listen to episode 249 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/booker-t-notsam-wrestling-249

since our NBC station is in a feud with DIRECTV, i doubt i will see any of the NFL game tonight.

the Yankees are off today. they start a series at home with the Red Sox tomorrow night.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i need to go get ready to take mom to the car dealership to get the oil changed, tires rotated and god knows what else done to the Highlander.

i hope everyone has a good one.

the two sweetest words in all of sports...

to say i was a little jacked up for the New York Rangers game last night would be a great understatement. i was completely fucking wired for the game. thankfully, 40 seconds in, this happens:
The King was once again, The King:
a little more first period magic:
eventually, the Rangers got the lead up to 4-1 (holy shit, Rick Nash scored!). i felt pretty confident they weren't going to be able to score 4 more goals on The King. of course, the Rangers are apparently only allowed to play 1 goal games, so Washington did score 2 more to make it 4-3. but, that was where the game stayed. there will be a Game 7 on Wednesday. the same date as the last two Game 7 victories for the Rangers. the Capitals have already guaranteed they are going to win the game. i guess they don't understand the Rangers record at home when facing elimination or what The King's record is in Game 7's. i can't wait for Wednesday to get here. here are some highlights from the game:
at least i know i'm not the only one who goes nuts during these games:

on top of that wonderful game, the New York Yankees got a masterful pitching performance from Michael Pineda yesterday. 16 strikeouts in just 7 innings. the best one though, no fucking walks. he's truly the ace now:
the Yankees won 6-2. they took 3 out of 4 against Baltimore. now, it's back down to that dump in Tampa.

after those two victory beers, i decided to catch up on the shows i missed. i mixed in a few hours of sleep as well before i finished up this morning. Nurse Jackie was really good. not sure how they are going to finish up this series just yet. Happyish was fucking brilliant. Silicon Valley was great once again. Veep was great also. Penny Dreadful was very dark and beautiful at the same time. one of the best shows EVER. and finally, Last Week Tonight once again was truly fucking brilliant:

tonight on the DVR will be the semi-finals of The Voice and Men in Blazers. i'll be flipping between the baseball game and Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

of course, we're under a tornado watch at the moment, so everything is subject to change.

i've got a few ideas for some new YouTube videos in my head. it truly all depends if the new solar lights we got work the way they are supposed to.  i also have a few poems swimming around up here as well.

i think mom and i are going to head over to the farm later today, weather permitting. mostly to see if the cats are still alive or have they all run away. i'm truly hoping i don't find any dead ones.

that's all for me today. hope everyone had a great weekend. hopefully all the mothers out there had a great Sunday. if not, let's just hope your children haven't had any children of their own.

heartbreaks and nostalgia... another drink please...

let's rewind to Friday night. i started watching the Dayton Flyers play and quickly realized that the officials were going to ruin this game. and sure enough, that's exactly what they did. the sad part is 2 of the 3 of them have been officials in the Final Four before. so, now i have come to the sad thought that ALL fucking college basketball refs fucking suck. as you might imagine, Dayton lost last night. the kicker is, they lost 65-64 in OT. think about that these dumb fucking officials took away a legit 3 point play from Dayton and you can imagine my fury. Dayton plays again on Tuesday at St. Louis. that more or less is a MUST win given how piss poor this league is in the eyes of all of the "experts" in college basketball.

thankfully, right after that was over there was some great matches on NJPW. i really didn't give a shit that the footage was a few years old. i could watch Okada wrestle all day long.

after that, i watched Treehouse Masters. they were building in Kentucky, not that far from where my father is from. i laughed since most of southern Ohio might as well be Kentucky. they built a massive barn in the trees. how that won't fall down is beyond me.

i took a shower late last night. that helped me get some sleep. i woke up this morning and got a little breakfast and started watching some soccer from Europe. after feeding the cats and the birds, i got ready for the party. we got there a little late, but not as late as the surprised birthday boy was. i haven't seen my friend Mike since he got married. that was probably damn near 15 years ago. most of the people at the party i hadn't seen since that wedding as well. i made sure to get the alcohol flowing as there was no way i was going to go through this day sober. it was good chatting with Mike some. found out he's a Chelsea fan, so of course a part of me despises him now. i gave him and his two sisters my business card, just in case they actually want to read this shit and perhaps BUY A BOOK.

after the party, my mother, sister and i went to this cool used bookstore that's just a few doors down from the restaurant we were at. i found a few things that i bought. i figure a DVD, 2 poetry books, and a Batman graphic novel all for $14 was pretty damn good.

and then to the shock of everyone, i didn't bitch when they wanted to do some more shopping at Target. we did some of the grocery shopping there as well as getting some things for the new house. after getting the mail and unloading everything, i turned on the New York Rangers game.

i didn't have a good feeling about the game today given the bad news from yesterday and how good Nashville is this year. i turned on the game right after Nashville took a 3-2 lead. that would be how the game would finish. good thing i had my alcohol earlier in the day. the Rangers play again tomorrow night on what i'm calling clusterfuck Sunday.

honestly, there are so many god damn things i want to watch tomorrow, i may not get any sleep. from Manchester United in the morning to the hockey game to all the usual Sunday night shows and all the ones coming back on, let alone the fucking Grammys are on as well. fuck me runnin'.

i guess the rest of this day will be spent doing some reading, watching some sports, Foo Fighters on Austin City Limits and a new episode of ROH.

i have no fucking clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i guess in the morning before the soccer comes on. that is if i have got the animals fed and all the trash down to the end of the lane. if my lazy side wins out, it will be in the afternoon when i should be napping.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. or, at least better than my sports teams are doing. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

one day the sun will rise again...

i felt like i did the right thing yesterday by waiting to leave for the hockey game. and for the first 5 minutes of the drive, i was right. and then it started to rain. and rain, and rain some more. it rained all the way to my sister's condo. and then it rained all the way to the arena. thankfully, my sister knows her way around Columbus. we avoided most of the traffic and got to the arena in plenty of time for the game. more on the game in a bit.

it rained for about 1/3 of the drive home last night. and it has rained on and off all day long here. to say i'm a bit gloomy and in pain would be an understatement. though, i did achieve a bit of joy by shooting my load into the middle of my chest earlier today. enjoy that visual as you read the rest of this.

the Blue Jackets lost to Dallas 4-2. i had a pretty good time, mostly because the 2 goals Columbus scored were by the guy on my fantasy team. though, my mood went to shit in the third period as i noticed the scoreboard and what was happening in the Rangers game. more on that in a moment. the next game we go to is on Friday. they are playing Calgary. i'll have fantasy interests on both of the teams that night. i did get to feel like i knew what i was talking about when i was telling my sister about the best players on Dallas. they scored all 4 of the goals.

the Rangers lost to the Islanders 6-3. thank fucking god i didn't watch that shit. Rick Nash scored 2 more goals, so that's really helping my fantasy team. but my goalie is fucking killing me. i know he starts off every season a bit slow... but giving up 6 goals in back to back games is a bit much. of course, after reading the game reports, his defense is doing him no favors. they play again on Thursday. maybe they will get a fucking win.

i watched a bit of The Voice on YouTube today. once again, none of the battles really blew me away. hopefully the good shit comes next week.

we ate at Waffle House last night around midnight. i felt sorry for the black woman working there. the town we live in has hardly any minorities. and the two white cooks weren't saying a fucking word to her. not even boring work chit chat. if i wasn't so fucking hungry i would have whipped out the charm... but the weather is doing me no favors.

i'll be watching a little hockey tonight, maybe some baseball, and eventually American Horror Story. that will get over in time for me to flip over to Foo Fighters week on Letterman.

i got most of the guys i wanted in fantasy football. now, i will have to come up with a plan to beat two opponents that are way better than me. hell, one is still undefeated. i have a feeling i'm going to come up short this week. hopefully my picks are good. i'm on a bit of a hot streak with those.

i'd like to go through my file of unpublished poems tomorrow and figure out what i'm going to send where. i'm hoping to send out some more submissions next week sometime.

that's all for me today. hope the weather is better wherever the fuck you may be. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

i guess winter is back on

what a cold ass day. woke up this morning to single digits and wind chills well below zero. i laughed as this is the exact reason why i don't name the barn cats until they make it through a winter. i did see more of them today than i had seen in the last 2 weeks. i suppose that's what the cold will do.

did a little birthday shopping at amazon.com today. always nice when you get gift cards and don't have to pay anything for what you get. so, in about a week or so, if you happen to see some music that hasn't been listed on here before, you'll know where it came from.

got a nice chicken chili on for later tonight. other than the farting afterwards, that should help warm me up.

hopefully, i will be going to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow night. i say hopefully because of the weather (we have some snow coming) and my mother's knee. i'm hoping the pain she has is just something minor and not another tear of a ligament. she goes to the doctor next week. time will tell i suppose.

if i don't go to the game i'll be watching the New York Rangers try to get their first win of the season. talk about damned if i do or don't. maybe a night under the covers with some books is in order. i'm sure everyone will be dying to know what happens. stay tuned.

hope everyone is good. a special thank you to Jeremy Benson for the kind words on my poetry. you can find his blog here: http://blog.jeremy-benson.com/
