not exactly how i wanted to start the day...

so, let me begin where this little adventure called life left off yesterday. i needed the top team in the Mexican soccer league to beat one of the worst ones to get a 5 team parlay to hit. so, i watched them lose at home to that lower team, 2-1. now, apparently, that set off a major case of bad mojo as most of my bets this morning are fucking losers. that includes Manchester United losing at home to Crystal Palace, 1-0. as soon as Palace scored this morning, i fucking turned the game off and got ready to go to the bank. this is going to be one of those days where i know i will need to be extra vigilant with my own anger.

the New York Yankees lost last night at Kansas City, 12-5. why does it feel like the Yankees are going to swept to end the season?

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.

the Rangers play at the Islanders tonight. i'll probably only get to see the highlights of that.

i might watch some of the MLS games tonight.

i do plan on watching NXT No Mercy tonight on Peacock.

i should be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play.

hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of October.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

until tomorrow kids...

it shouldn't surprise me...

so, mom told me last night to make sure to wake her up at 8:30 this morning. of course, this also meant that i wasn't going to get more than 4 hours of sleep. i woke her up at 8:30 like she requested. i woke her up again at 8:50, reminding her that she told me to get her up at 8:30. she wanted to be up at that time so she could call her accountant and tell him she wasn't going to bring the taxes in today, she would have me drop them off on Monday instead. i just chuckled as i sat in my room listening to the phone call. i guess there is always more time to procrastinate.

Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week.

i did watch some of the NFL game last night. as soon as i saw the sack on Tua and how his hands went into the fencing response, i knew he just had a major concussion. and given the controversy from last Sunday, this should start a real hard look into the NFL's concussion policies.

the New York Rangers lost last night to the Devils, 5-2. they play again tonight, this time in New Jersey.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Little Demon was fucking hilarious last night.

Atlanta was fucking great last night.

Young Sheldon was very funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher and Los Espookys. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

the Yankees play tonight at home against Baltimore. hopefully, tonight will be the night Aaron Judge hits number 62. he would be the first "clean" player to ever do that, since McGwire, Bonds and Sosa all did it while on steroids.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning, before all the college football games start.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

flip the switch

the Yankees absolutely whipped Cleveland last night, 12-3. they got 7 off of the best pitcher in the AL this season, just about equaling what he had given up all season. it was wonderful to watch. hopefully, the bats will be hot tonight and they sweep the Indians.

i got my order from Amazon.com yesterday and my order from Topps.com today. all my cards that needed to be in hard plastic or sleeves finally are. now, i just need to get them in some kind of fucking order so i can start to try to sell them. those 2 Topps Heritage boxes i got today had some pretty good cards in them, especially the short prints. if i can sell those for what they are worth, my $40 investment will have a very nice return on it.

the grocery stores were a little crazy today. thankfully, i got everything that was on the list. not as many coupons this time around, so between the 4 stores i had to go to, i did my best to keep it under $200.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, Big Brother, Cari & Jemele Stick to Sports, The Masked Singer and I Can See Your Voice.

the NBA Finals start tonight between the Lakers and Heat. i am a LeBron fan, but i have hated the Lakers nearly my entire life. so, i'll be really happy if the Heat win and only happy for LeBron if the Lakers win the series.

i didn't get to see any of the Manchester United game today against Brighton in the League Cup. but, i was pleasantly thrilled when i saw that United won today 3-0. i'll be enjoying that alcohol tonight.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping the Yankees won't be playing tomorrow, so i won't feel rushed trying to get this done.

hard to fucking believe this is the last day of September.

i guess i will have some poems published in the morning. there's something to look forward to kids.

i remember when the leaves would change color before they fell to the ground...

i believe it's supposed to get into the 90's here for the next few days. we had a little rain yesterday, but we're clearly in a fucking drought. our tree in the front is losing leaves before they even change color. joy.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to the Rangers, 6-1. they won't play again until Friday when they play the Twins back in the Bronx. hopefully, the Yankees have a nice long run in them for the playoffs this season.

the New Orleans Saints defeated Dallas last night, 12-10. the defense was amazing last night. i still don't believe they have won these last two games without Drew Brees. they play Tampa Bay this coming Sunday.

Succession was great last night.

Ballers was good last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was pretty funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

Power was great once again last night.

The Affair was excellent last night.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and The Deuce. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

Manchester United plays Arsenal today. since mom wants to go out to eat after her doctor's appointment, i probably won't see any of the game.

i might watch some of the Monday night game tonight between the Bengals and Steelers.

i did listen to episode 258 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/hornswoggle-pt-2-notsam

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i need to get my blood drawn tomorrow for my appointment next week. i will probably be on here after i do that in the morning.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

one of those comebacks that can define a team...

Ohio State was down 12 with 8 minutes to go last night at Penn State. this was a situation that i figured they would be in and i was really interested to see how they would respond. what happened gave me enough to believe that if the cards happen to fall just right, Ohio State could win it all this season. 2 amazing drives and a great defensive stand/or just shitty play calling from a scared Penn State coaching staff gave Ohio State a 27-26 victory.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 8-5 in Boston. that gives them 100 victories on the season. they also set the team record for hone runs in a season. they will hopefully extend that record later today. Andujar broke Joe DiMaggio's team record for doubles by a rookie. i'd love to see them get the sweep of the Red Sox today, but all i really care about is staying healthy and getting the pitching set up for the wild card game at home on Wednesday.
the Yankees also became the first team ever to have every spot in the batting order have 20 or more home runs on the season.

Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking funny last night.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce, Ballers, the season finale of Insecure, Last Week Tonight, America to Me, Shameless and Kidding.

the New Orleans Saints play at the New York Giants this afternoon. the game doesn't start until 4:25, so i'll be able to get some shit done before i settle in to watch it.

i did watch a good portion of the Global Citizen concert last night, once i remembered that it was on.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

and here comes the sickness...

i caught the weather forecast last night and thought oh shit, here comes everyone getting sick. it's been somewhat warm for the last week or so and now here comes a cold front and temps in the 40's and 50's. i'll enjoy the weather but i'm surrounded by old people. this is the weather they all detest. maybe some of them have places in warmer climates and they won't be around here. of course, that's most likely wishful thinking.

the New York Yankees continued their slide into pissing away a chance at the playoffs by losing to Boston last night 10-4. i think i might have turned the game off in the top of the 1st inning. the magic number though is down to 2. so, maybe they just backslide into the playoffs with all the other wild card teams beating each other up. sadly, if they do make it and win that playoff game, they will have to face the Blue Jays. i doubt that series lasts long. the Yankees face Boston again tonight if mother nature cooperates. Tanaka is supposed to go tonight. it's a big start as this lines him up for that wild card game. figuring their luck here lately, tonight gets rained out and they have a doubleheader tomorrow.

for some reason the DVR didn't record the first 9 minutes of The Voice last night. judging from what i could figure out, i didn't miss much. my favorite performance last night was an easy one to choose. anyone who is smart enough to do a John Prine song is a winner in my book:

The Muppets was pretty funny last night. Scream Queens was once again so damn bad it was great. Total Divas was nearly a waste of time. i was more interested in Tyson Kidd's injury but the whole show was basically about Paige being scared to settle down and Dolph Ziggler "trying" to get back with Nikki Bella. it was one of those hours where you remember that reality shows aren't actually reality.

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be You're The Worst. i'm looking forward to NXT tonight on the WWE Network as this will be the last show before the next live event.

Manchester United plays Wolfsburg today in Champions League group play. this is a MUST WIN game for United. i'm not sure how much i will get to see of it though as mom will be getting out of her conference and heading back home pretty much at the same time the game is going on. she wants to meet at the car rental place so she can turn it back in early.

the New York Rangers play their final preseason game tonight vs. Boston. i can't wait for hockey season to start back up.

that's pretty much all for me today. the rain has finally stopped but my body is still aching. maybe a long hot shower will do the trick. of course, the phone will ring in the middle of that shower. i learned a long time ago, if you're waiting for something to happen, go do something else. when i lived alone at the farm and was waiting for a phone call, i'd either go take a shower or a long shit. it never failed, the phone always rang.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. when i do get back on here, i'm hoping i have nothing but good news to report.

may the nightmare be over...

there are certain moments in fantasy football that you sometimes just want to go to a mirror and punch yourself in the face until you bleed. one of those times is when you see a guy on your bench score 3 touchdowns. by the way, that's enough fantasy points to turn a loss into a win. and it doesn't help me that i'm super fucking competitive. so, i didn't get much sleep last night as i was busy beating myself up.

i picked the NFL game wrong last night. i went 6-7 for the week. that is about as bad as it gets for me. i also lost both of my fantasy football matches, so it's back to the drawing board.

i got to watch much of what i wanted to last night. The Voice was pretty good, but none of the voices blew me away. Gotham was excellent, i just wish it was on a different night. as for The Big Bang Theory, i watched some of that on YouTube this morning. pretty funny as usual. Monday Night Raw was good last night. i remember telling my mother when Dean Ambrose debuted in the WWE that he was the future of professional wrestling. so far, i'm looking pretty damn good with my prediction.

as for tonight, since i highly doubt i will be watching the baseball playoffs, i'll only be watching The Voice. other than that, probably whatever is on a music channel or an educational channel.

i got my DNA results from Ancestry.com yesterday. much to my sister's chagrin, we are related. she was a little upset that i'm more Irish than she is. i don't see the big deal in any of this.

i also saw the results from my blood test this morning. all the numbers looked like they were good. of course, it would be nice for the doctor to tell me that. i'm still waiting for my call to be returned. i will gladly assume if i don't hear from him, i'm good to go.

i did watch alot of the New York Rangers game last night with the Flyers. i love how fast the young kids are. hopefully a few of them make it on the team. Rangers won 6-3. they play again tonight in Philly. i'm pretty sure i'll have to watch it later tonight.

got some FREE music on iTunes and NoiseTrade today. i'll provide the links below.

today really has been one of these days that has flown by. and i basically haven't done shit. i figure this is how much of the rest of my life will go.

i did watch some Champions League play today. i have to admit, the PSG win over Barcelona was fascinating to watch. i wish people in this country that hate the sport would be forced to watch that game. maybe they would get what the rest of the world raves about.

that's pretty much all for me today. i guess i should at least get out of the clothes i slept in last night, it's almost time for dinner.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

saved by a wonderful Saturday night

it was a beautiful night of schizophrenic television last night. at any given time i was flipping between the Global Citizen music festival, the Southern Ground Music and Food festival, the New York Yankees, Ohio State, LSU vs. Georgia, and Mexican soccer. later on, toss in Saturday Night Live, ROH. Austin City Limits, and some late night college football. i finally ran out of gas at 3:30 in the morning. and of course, i was back up 4 hours later.

some quick thoughts...

Global Citizen - i really enjoy this music festival. could be timed out a little better with the social messages and the music, but that's only a minor complaint.

Southern Ground - i love the Zac Brown Band and i love that their musical tastes are so varied. that was a wonderful thing to watch.

i was so happy that the Yankees won yesterday and did so with Andy Pettitte pitching a complete game to do it. he now becomes the only pitcher EVER to pitch more than 15 seasons and NEVER have a losing season. that's a nice way to leave the game for good. i highly doubt i will watch any of the game today. though, if i do get a feeling that Mo is playing CF, i will have to check that out.

Ohio State started fast last night against Wisconsin. the defense really halted their running game, which is one of the best in the nation. to me, that was the difference in the game. that and Braxton Miller reminding everyone that he is the most athletic person on the field at any given time. quite the winning streak going on. may it continue for a few more months.

LSU vs. Georgia was one of those shootouts that make me truly appreciate college football. and it also reminds me why i gave up gambling.

Saturday Night Live was great last night. i enjoyed the segments on the new cast members. i am familiar with 2 of them. hopefully the other 4 do something that allows me to remember them. it will be interesting to see which old cast members fill the most reliable spots that had the same guys in it for almost a decade.

the Arcade Fire special after SNL was bizarre, in a good way. i enjoyed it much more than i thought i would.

ROH was the semi-finals from the heavyweight tournament. since i already knew the results and had seen most of the action, i was in and out of it all hour long.

as for tonight, basically between 9 PM and 1 AM i will be between HBO and Showtime. Boardwalk Empire, Eastbound and Down, and Hello Ladies. then the west coast feeds of Homeland and Masters of Sex. i figure mom would appreciate me watching that last one after she goes to bed.

the rest of the day will be on the NFL. both of my fantasy games won't be finished until after the Monday night game. i'm hoping that i have leads in both of them going into tomorrow.

got the results of my fantasy hockey draft. i am pleased as most of the guys drafted i have had before and know their tendencies and whatnot. so now it's simply a matter of handling injuries and winning the waiver wire wars. and i am fully aware that i do so good in these fantasy leagues because i have the time to devote to them. at the same time, you can understand why i get so fucking pissed when i lose.

that's all for me. the trash is picked up and the cats are fed. i figure i will get my ass down in the chair before it starts raining and before i start scrambling to check injury reports. hope everyone is in the middle of a great weekend. and if you're not, have yourself a drink. it always works for me.
