i took a shower last night and my pain was at a level where i knew i needed to sleep in my massage chair with ice just about everywhere. i got close to 4 hours of sleep. ok, not bad. i got a few naps this morning before i had to go to the eye doctor. i let her know that i really haven't noticed much of a change with my eyes. well, the exam showed something different. there was enough of a change that she said i needed new glasses. oh joy. the woman working with me to find the new glasses was excellent. i told Emily my concerns with the ones i currently have and she brought back 6 different ones that fit me great. so, i tried them all and decided on two that fit the best that would be my new glasses and new sunglasses. the second pair would be 50% off, which i was happy about. so, after adding up everything and the co-pay for the exam and everything... $1,100.50. well, fuck me. the first thought i had while pulling out my credit card was i wonder how much i could get for a kidney. as i told my mother when i got back home, i believe i am at the point of life where i need to have the financial discussion of does it make more sense to live or die. i should have the new glasses in 2 weeks.
i also got a new phone case today. my old one was falling apart. thankfully, the new one is really simple and durable. and about $30 cheaper than the one i had before. joy.
the Yankees lost last night at Texas, 10-6. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at the Cubs. the Cubs by the way threw a combined no hitter last night. great.
Big Brother was good last night. i have no damn clue who gets evicted tonight.
AEW Dynamite was good last night. unfortunately, i have watched wrestling long enough that i saw the "arson" angle coming way before it actually happened.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and NJPW.
i will spend most of the evening probably watching the NFL game between the Chiefs and Ravens tonight.
i should be on here tomorrow when i get home from Menards. i need to make that trip so i can use some gift certificates and get the 11% rebate on everything. i'm sure the birds would love to have some suet to eat.
i need to go ice my back down and get ready to make dinner. i believe we will be having some pulled pork tonight. not sure if i'm doing sandwiches or maybe nachos with it. football food of course.
best of luck to everyone gambling tonight.
until tomorrow my friends...

it started raining last night and i woke up this morning to a thick fog. we're supposed to get more rain today. joy. i always love spending a holiday in pain.
so, the big plan today was to get the poems out first and then do this blog while doing my laundry. of course, nothing in my life ever goes as planned. so, the blog is first today. the poems will go out later, most likely after a shower and my laundry.
Manchester United defeated Arsenal yesterday, 3-1. that made me very happy. United is now 5th in the Premier League, 3 points out of 1st.
the Yankees won yesterday down in that dump in Tampa, 2-1. Aaron Judge hit his 53rd HR to lead off the game. he ended up scoring all the Yankees runs in this series. the last player to do that in a 3 game series was Babe Ruth. the Yankees start a 4 game series at home this afternoon against the Twins.
the season finale of The Chi last night was very good.
Big Brother was good last night.
City on a Hill was awesome last night.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, Industry and Don't Forget the Lyrics.
NXT Worlds Collide was excellent yesterday.
i will do another blog later today when i get the poems out.
i need to go take a shower and then get my laundry going. i helped mom do hers all weekend. now, it is my turn.
i hope everyone had a great Sunday. enjoy your Labor Day.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
until then kids...

mom wanted to go out shopping today, mostly to get my sister some stuff for her birthday. i told her no problem, just let me know where she wanted to go. first, we went to the drugstore. after that, she wanted to go to Waffle House for lunch. and then, she wanted to go to the grocery store to get the stuff for my sister. my only complaint is my mother is so slow anymore. the 21st century certainly isn't for anyone that wants to take it easy. and by the time we got everything, she had no energy left. we might have been out for around 90 minutes or so. this is where i have to walk that fine line of being the good son and the asshole that gets on her to get out more. good times.
the New York Yankees won last night over the Texas Rangers, 4-1. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow night in Boston. there's a pretty good chance the Yankees will clinch the division on this upcoming road trip.
NXT and NXT UK were both really good last night.
Songland was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.
Big Brother was good last night. it's double eviction time tonight. i'm pretty sure Jessica will be the first one to go tonight. after that, i would love to see Christie get evicted.
Snowfall had another HOLY FUCKING SHIT ending last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Big Brother.
the NFL starts back up tonight. the Bears are playing the Packers. i will probably watch some of the game.
i have to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow. i have to be at the hospital by 7:15. they said the scan lasts for 30 minutes. so, with any luck, i might actually be able to get back home and eat breakfast at a decent time tomorrow.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. i would have loved to do the grocery shopping today but the sales don't start until Friday. fuckers.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

we had some pretty good storms roll through here last night. strong enough that most high school football games got postponed until this afternoon. the rain certainly got my arthritis flaring last night, as i spent most of the night in bed, in pain. while coming out of the kitchen last night to take the trash out to the garage, i noticed something under the main bird feeder in the front yard. as i got closer to the window, it was certainly too big for a squirrel. and then i noticed the white streak. the only thing i could think was fuck me. where there is one skunk, there are usually more. it was eating the seeds that the storm had knocked out of the bird feeder. i didn't want to startle it in case it would spray, but when i opened the door it did nothing. that makes me think it's used to people and this area. just fucking great. here i left the farm thinking this shit was a thing of the past. oh well.
NJPW was excellent last night. i am more and more tempted to get the streaming service that NJPW offers. of course, if i had a paying job, i'd probably already have it.
team USA started off strong but then decided to take the next 30 minutes off against Peru in their friendly last night. so, i wasn't surprised when Peru was winning at half 1-0. thankfully, the boys showed some fucking urgency and actually played the best i've seen them play in months in the second half. Jozy scored 2 goals to give the USA the win, 2-1. here are some highlights:
the New York Yankees had 4 hits last night. 3 of them left the yard. Severino once again pitched like a budding superstar and the Yankees won 5-2. luckily, they won on a night Toronto finally lost, so now they are only a 1/2 game out of first place. they are tied in the loss column. the Yankees go for the series win this afternoon.
those two victory beers helped ease the pain of the rain last night for sure. plus, once i actually got to sleep, i stayed asleep for a change.
enjoy some music kids:
now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH. i will spend most of today watching college football and baseball. i may sprinkle in some European soccer if i remember to look for it. other than that, if the weather isn't too damn hot or stormy, i may end up helping mom do some stuff around the house.
i guess we are doing my sister's birthday on Monday morning. i imagine that means breakfast at Waffle House.
my mother and sister are next door having breakfast with my aunt and uncle. the joy of not being big on family is i never feel like i am missing something by not going.
that's all for me today. i want to get a good long shower in before the games come on.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully the weather in your neck of the woods is great. enjoy some drinks, some good food, a cheap date and enough sex that you have something to write or remember in the future.

yet another day when it's over 90 degrees at noon. i knew it was pretty bad when i went out to feed the cats and none of them greeted me. even after a few whistles, only two of them even bothered to look out of the barn stall. that's a good sign that it was really fucking hot. of course, they are calling for some storms tonight as a cold front is coming. just in time for high school football. good times.
i did watch some of the NFL game last night. i picked the winner right. Seattle looks like they are going to be tough to beat this year. hopefully the Saints can pull it off this season.
Nicole was evicted as i expected last night on Big Brother. and then i got my hopes up that Frankie was going to be next. sadly, that fucker won the POV, so Christine was evicted. they did reveal a new gimmick on the show. if it's anything like the rest of this season, i'm going to be disappointed.
Married was pretty funny last night. You're the Worst was great and had an ending that i didn't see coming. can't wait to see what happens next week.
after a trip to the grocery store later today, i figure i'll be watching the Stand Up to Cancer event on tv tonight. i lost my stepfather to that fucking disease, so i'm sure the emotions will be stirring for me. plus, it's on basically every channel, so there won't be much else to watch.
the Yankees got behind last night but came back to win it late, 5-4. it was nice to see 2 HUGE home runs in the bottom of the ninth to do it. 2 days in a row they have shown they care. now, try doing it against a first place team. they start a series with the Royals tonight.
i've had a fun day dealing with some water issues out here on the farm. usually when a sink is running slow, it means the filter is ready to be changed. i checked the filter, it was mostly clean, but i changed it anyway. that didn't work. so, now i'm guessing there's a buildup of gunk and god knows what else clogging the water. then, a few hours later, the toilets had a hard time flushing. i'm guessing it was an air pocket that was fucking things up. should make my shower interesting here in a few minutes.
i will most likely be working on some poems late tonight as i decided to be a lazy ass for most of today. plus, i think i do my best work at night anyway.
i will probably be on here tomorrow morning at some time. another day full of college football. Ohio State has a decent challenge with Virginia Tech tomorrow. plus, there are some pretty big games for just week 2.
i want to get a shower in before i go to the store. i, at the very least, try to be presentable when i go out into public. clean underwear usually helps in that regard.
so with that lovely visual, i bid you adieu. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
