living or running out the clock?

mom didn't get out bed yesterday until 5 PM. she asked me how do i look? i told her she didn't have bags under her eyes anymore. she was asleep for more than 14 hours. i barely sleep that long in a week. the way my back and left shoulder feel, i think the only way i am sleeping is the pain makes me sleep. and that's not good sleep. that's basically fighting death. and quite honestly, i have no interest in fighting death.

Manchester United won yesterday at home against Barnsley, 7-0. holy shit, that was beautiful to watch.

the Yankees won last night in Seattle, 11-2. the magic number to make the playoffs is 1. the magic number to clinch the division is 8. they have a 4 game lead over the Orioles in the AL East. i think they have a 1 1/2 game lead over Cleveland for the best record in the American League.

NXT was very good last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, Big Brother and Inside The NFL.

grocery shopping was difficult today. i iced my shoulder down before i went. that didn't last nearly as long as i hoped. and although i did save a good amount of money today, everything cost me over $200. fuck me.

i need to get started on dinner, so that's all for me today kids.

i should be on here tomorrow after i take mom to get some blood work done.

until then my friends...

the last weekend of summer...

i believe it is supposed to be in the 80's again today. i wouldn't mind for the two weeks of fall to begin here soon. that will fly by and winter will be here soon enough.

Ohio State won last night over Toledo, 77-21. if Ohio State plays offense like that the rest of the season, they should be able to win just about every game on their schedule.

the Yankees lost last night in Milwaukee, 4-1. they will try to avoid the sweep this afternoon.

i did watch a few MLS games yesterday:

and i watched a few college football games yesterday as well:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be two episodes of VICE, Big Brother, City on a Hill and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

the Saints play today at home against Tampa Bay. hopefully, the Saints will win.

the Columbus Crew play today as well. i'll probably check that out during the commercials of the Saints game.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i really hope your Sunday will be even better.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

here comes the weekend...

i didn't go to bed last night until i exhausted myself. of course, i was up 3 hours later. not good. so i got an ice pack and went to my massage chair. i turned on the Wolves vs. Brentford game and got another 2 hours of sleep. much better.

the Yankees won last night over Cleveland, 8-0. hopefully, there is more of that today.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was pretty good last night as well.

Big Brother was good last night. Xavier is the new HOH.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

Ohio State will hopefully bounce back today at home against Tulsa. if they struggle in this game, they have bigger problems than anyone else realizes.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of college football today.

we made turkey burgers last night for the first time in ages it felt like. they were very good.

i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays West Ham in the morning.

if not, i will be on here before the New Orleans Saints play at 1.

hopefully, tonight is the night...

the New York Yankees won last night over the Angels, 8-0. the Rays lost last night to the Dodgers, so the Yankees magic number is down to 1. with a victory tonight, they would win the division for the first time in 7 seasons and would get their 100th win of the season.

They Shall Not Grow Old might have been the best war documentary i have EVER seen. it doesn't romanticize war. it had some of the most graphic images i can remember in any war documentary. i highly recommend everyone watching this.

Smackdown was good last night, as was 205 Live.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

Mr. Mercedes was very good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

i wept during the episode of the country music documentary last night on PBS. i can remember my grandmother singing me Hank Williams songs when i was really young, like 3 or 4. the memories were flooding back last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Big Brother, American Horror Story and A Little Late with Lilly Singh Primetime Special. i watched NXT UK this afternoon, it was really good.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League. i'm really hoping i will be in a good mood.

i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. at least i got breakfast in me before noon.

that's all for me kids. i'm off to go watch the Yankees win a division finally.

until tomorrow...

who drinks coffee and then gets sleepy?

i swear, i think i'm the only person on earth that fucking drinks coffee and then gets sleepy. it never fails. i'll have a nice cup of coffee and in under 2 hours i'm slowly drained and tired. or, maybe my body is just slowly rejecting all of life.

you would think this morning would have been a good one. 3 different poems published. another morning alive. yet, i opened a fucking email from my former best friend that was written last night and that has left a shitty taste in my mouth. i'm guessing she had to write the email to somehow, in her mind, be the better person before she dies. she wanted to forgive me. that made me laugh out loud. this coming from the cunt who went to the authorities and said i was stealing from her. i couldn't give two shits what stage your cancer is or how close you are to dying. in my world, you are already dead.

i did watch a good portion of the New York Rangers game last night. although it was a pre-season game, if the team is going to play like that all season, they will at least be entertaining. the Rangers defeated New Jersey 4-3 in OT last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show and Mayans M.C.

the New York Yankees game that was supposed to be played this afternoon is now going to be played tonight. all that does is make Boston wait a few hours before celebrating.

i'm getting ready to go out with mom and get a new television for the living room. i think after we go to Best Buy she'll want to go out to lunch.

i will be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the Champions League.

afternoon thunderstorms...

nothing like a thunderstorm out of nowhere to just stop me in my tracks. fucking arthritis. this should be a fun one type up.

yesterday was not a good one for me.

the New York Yankees lost to Baltimore yesterday 6-4. they pissed away a chance for a sweep and to pick up a game on Boston. they are still 3 games out in the division. the Yankees start a series with the Twins tonight. Minnesota is right behind the Yankees in the wild card standings. so, it could be a playoff preview.

the New Orleans Saints lost to New England yesterday 36-20. and honestly, it never felt that close. the defense was horrific yesterday as Tom Brady shredded them to pieces. and when your defense can't stop anyone, it doesn't matter how good the offense is.

i was saddened to hear of the death of  Bobby "The Brain" Heenan yesterday. he was definitely one of the reasons i absolutely loved wrestling as a child.

thankfully, Manchester United was the exception to everything yesterday. they defeated Everton 4-0. i thought it was kind of funny that United scored 3 of those goals after Wayne Rooney came out of the game for Everton.

The Vietnam War last night on PBS was very good. this is a topic that i am highly interested in, given that my father would never tell me anything about his time in the war. i really liked in part 1 that they went all the way back to the 1850's to set up why everything happened a century later. i'm sure part 2 will be just as good tonight.

Ballers was really good last night. the season finale next week should be really good as well.

Ray Donovan was pretty good last night.

Episodes was pretty funny last night.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Vice Principals was fucking hilarious last night.

the series finale of The Strain last night was damn near perfect. the fight scenes were amazing and the twist i didn't see coming that set up the last few scenes was great. probably one of my favorite shows that i never expected to like.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, I Hart Food and The Vietnam War. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow sometime after a trip to the bank.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i now have dishes to do, toilets to clean and a house to vacuum. good times.

i should have just kept sleeping

so the Ohio State game ended late last night and i knew it would be just 5 or so hours before Manchester United played in the morning. i tried to get a quick nap in, but really only got portions of sleep that added up to around 2 1/2 hours. judging from the game, i should have just kept sleeping and not even bothered. more on that later.

i'll start with the only good thing that happened yesterday, Ohio State going to Oklahoma and beating the shit out of them. the final score was 45-24, though if the officials weren't blind, it would have been 45-17. how the fuck does someone drop the ball before crossing the goal line and none of the officials on or in the replay booth fucking see it? oh, that's right, Big 12 officials. enough said. Ohio State ran for nearly 300 yards last night. as i told my mother, that's how you emasculate a team. plus, Noah Brown had his coming out party with probably the catch of the year.
all in all, even with the long ass weather delay, it was an excellent win. maybe Oklahoma's backup QB will think twice before he calls another team's defense basic ever again.
always fun to watch a young white kid learn a hard lesson.

the New York Yankees pissed away another lead yesterday and lost again to Boston, 6-5. they basically have given up all the ground they made during the 7 game winning streak. they will try to avoid the sweep tonight, but i won't be watching.

team USA came out flat as fuck to start the World Cup of Hockey yesterday. they lost to Europe 3-0. i didn't bother to watch the third period at all. they next play Canada, who beat the Czech Republic 6-0 last night. i suppose Tuesday is going to be either the game that changes the fortunes of team USA or show everyone why they should have never hired Torts to be the damn coach.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Power, Ballers, Vice Principals, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and The Strain.

so i got up this morning hoping that Manchester United could get me off to a good day. knowing that they hadn't lost at Watford for 3 decades, i had high hopes. fuck me. once again, some shitty officiating played a role today, but also did just a horrible mix of players. Manchester United lost 3-1. honestly, there's a handful of fuckers that i wish would never play for the club again, but i know that's not going to happen. that's 3 losses in a row for The Special One. that hasn't happened to him since 2002. hopefully this fucking slump ends soon.

the New Orleans Saints play at the New York Giants today. i figure it's going to take a fucking miracle for the Saints to win. i wish i knew prayer actually worked.

my fantasy football teams are both projected to lose. i don't think i have started off a fantasy football season 0-2 in a long damn time.

hopefully all the damn rain is out of the area now. i could use a day where i'm not in constant pain.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

heavy on nostalgia

today is one of those days that you suddenly realize just how fucking old you are. and it's not that you had to vacuum the steps while your back was killing you. it's the fact that today starts the final home stand of Derek Jeter's career. and when you sit back and realize you've watched all 20 of his seasons, the joints start to ache and all you want to do is sit back in the chair and relive some championships.

the Yankees did win last night, 3-2. that was a nice victory beer, as they at least won the last game Jeter will play in that dump in Tampa. i saw this ad today and i have to admit, i did get tears. this will be tougher than i thought watching The Captain leave...

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i'm pretty sure that Caleb didn't see his eviction coming at all. it's pretty safe to say that the guys will be in the final 2 as Victoria hasn't won shit all summer.

The Bridge was excellent last night. the ending had me on the edge of my seat. i can't wait until next week.

tonight i'll be flipping between some baseball and football, both pro and college. at 10 i'll flip over to FX and watch the season finales of Married and You're the Worst.

on top of doing the stairs today, i also had dishes and toilets on the list. let's just say my back needs some ice.

i feel like i may have some words to get down on the page later tonight. i know when i start talking to myself and coming up with lines out of nowhere, something is coming.

i got 2 GREAT albums on NoiseTrade today for FREE. i highly recommend both of these. links will be in the music section.

the weather has been damn near perfect today. low 70's and hardly any humidity. i'd take it like this every damn day if i could.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
