laundry day...

i really need to do my laundry today. so, once i get this blog done... i'll be doing that the rest of the day.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night. i can't wait for Saturday Night's Main Event tonight on NBC.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night's Main Event, AEW Collision, SNL, Joker: Folie a Deux and the Violent Femmes special on PBS.

the New York Rangers play at home today against the Kings.

i will probably watch some of the Army vs. Navy game today.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against #6 Marquette. i'd love to see Dayton find a way to get a win tonight.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of sports today between loads of laundry.

i am going to try to be on here tomorrow before the Manchester derby.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

until tomorrow kids...

and here come the cold ass winds...

it was really windy here today. that always seems to happen on trash day. been like that for most of my adult life it seems. i did get the grocery shopping done early today. i wanted to be home to watch the Manchester United game. more on that in a bit.

the grocery stores weren't too bad today. you could tell the spooked shoppers since there is snow and weather in the forecast. i was simply trying to get what the fuck was on the list. i had to get gas today as well. the booze costed more than the gas. and i did find everything on the list.

Manchester United lost at Arsenal today, 2-0. United played well for the first 45 minutes. then, the talent gap showed up in the second half.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at home against Western Michigan, 77-69.

The Voice was very good last night. my final 3 is all in the finals.

Hard Knocks was excellent last night.

St. Denis Medical was very funny last night.

NXT was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW, The Masked Singer, two episodes of Abbott Elementary and Inside the NFL.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i am hoping to get my Christmas cards started tomorrow. i don't think i'm sending out as many as i usually do. i think the holiday blues have come early this year.

i need to get started on dinner, so that's all for me today kids.

what a crazy few hours or so...

so, i woke up this morning and saw that the snow started sticking last night. i knew it must have been as some fucker did some donuts in the cul-de-sac last night. i put on some coffee and got ready to watch the World Cup final. when Argentina got up 2-0, i thought for sure they were going to win the game in regulation. silly me. France scored twice in the second half (90 seconds apart) to tie the game at 2. the game went to extra time. Messi scored his second for Argentina to put them in the lead. Kylian Mbappe scored his 3rd for France to eventually send the game to penalty kicks. Argentina won the penalty kicks 4-2. this was by far the most entertaining World Cup final i think i have ever watched. and honestly, it ends the debate of who is the greatest of all time. Messi winning the World Cup trumps everything.

now let's rewind back to yesterday. i did manage to get mom's Christmas gifts wrapped. i did watch a bit of all 3 NFL games yesterday. quite the choke job from the Colts. and it was great to see the snow game last night between Buffalo and Miami.

the Dayton Flyers finally won a game outside of the UD Arena yesterday. they defeated Wyoming in Chicago, 66-49.

the New York Rangers won last night in Philadelphia, 6-3. they play tonight in Chicago.

Saturday Night Live was great last night. Cecily Strong will be missed.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be George & Tammy and Ziwe.

the New York Knicks play tonight at the Pacers.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

so, i did watch some of the New Orleans Saints game today at home against Atlanta. thankfully, the Saints did just enough to win, 21-18.

i need to do some poetry work tonight, before the Rangers game against Chicago.

i'm also planning on maybe a few surprises on Christmas, so i have a week to get all those details ironed out.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

like a ton of bricks...

so, when the news of Grant Wahl's death last night hit me, i was shocked. Grant was the best soccer writer in this country by a mile. he did an amazing job explaining the sport and growing the sport in this country. i still am trying to process his death covering the World Cup. part of me doesn't want to believe it is true. and part of me knows, having just celebrated his 48th birthday 8 days ago, it is the circle being completed. Grant was also an amazing writer about college basketball. i have been an avid reader of his for damn near 20 years. i think i cried for hours last night as i was trying to deal with my own grief. he was the writer i thought i wanted to be when i was a kid, thinking of writing for a team or a sport, long before the poetry bug latched on to me. rest in peace Grant. you were an amazing human. condolences to his wife and his family.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Young Rock was pretty funny last night.

both episodes of Random Acts of Flyness reminded me of why i absolutely love this show.

the New York Knicks won last night at Charlotte, 121-102.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

the New York Rangers won in Colorado last night, 2-1 in the shootout.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live.

i'll be watching NXT Deadline on Peacock for most of the evening.

today at the World Cup, the amazing run for Morocco continued with their 1-0 upset of Portugal. France defeated England, 2-1, in a very tense game. i'm not sure how Harry Kane is going to live with himself after missing the penalty that would have made it 2-2. so, now the semifinals of the World Cup are set. Croatia plays Argentina on Tuesday. France plays Morocco on Wednesday. Morocco is the first African nation to ever make the semifinals.

Manchester United lost 1-0 today in Spain to Real Betis.

the Dayton Flyers won today at home against UNC Asheville, 79-56.

i did go to Rite Aid and Family Dollar earlier today. i had some pills to pick up at Rite Aid. shockingly, they actually had them ready before i even called them in to have them refilled. i had to pick up some Glade spray at Family Dollar. they are the only store around here that still sells it for just $1.

not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm guessing the morning as i know the New Orleans Saints are on their bye week. i did get the first round of Christmas cards sent out today. i'm hoping to get the rest of them done this weekend and out in the mail on Monday.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

feel like a zombie...

so, i guess i needed some sleep. 3 hours just wasn't going to cut it for today. i didn't get to bed until 6:30 this morning. i was up a little before 9:30. did my usual morning shit, got the Christmas cards into the mailbox, had breakfast and went to my massage chair. next thing i know, i was waking up and it was 4 in the afternoon. 3 of you getting Christmas cards from me this year will have yours mailed out tomorrow. i love a rural post office that closes a little after 4. but, since i have to get bloodwork done at 8:45 in the morning tomorrow, i know i will get to a post office on time then. good times.

NXT War Games was really good last night.

VICE was really good last night.

Dexter: New Blood was excellent last night.

Yellowjackets was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night.

Hightown was pretty good last night.

Succession was amazing last night. the season finale is next week.

Insecure was very good last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and The Voice.

i didn't get any writing done yesterday. it started to rain like the world was ending last night and my arthritis decided it was time for a bender. joy.

so, the plan for tomorrow is to get my blood drawn. then, go to the post office. and then i get to have breakfast and will hopefully get some poems written. and oh by the way, it is supposed to snow tomorrow. good times.

i did catch a little of the MLS yesterday.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before the sun goes down.

nothing worse than winter rain...

i have been in agony today with all this fucking rain around here. my arthritis is getting much worse, especially in my left knee. i'm 44 and feel like i'm in my late 70's. good times.

Manchester United took Leeds behind the woodshed yesterday and destroyed them. a 6-2 victory was music to my fucking ears. United are now 3rd in the league with a game in hand.

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday to the Chiefs, 32-29. i said the Saints were going to have to play a perfect game to win and i was right. they started way too fucking slow, made one too many mistakes and came up short. they play the Vikings on Christmas day. hopefully, the losing streak ends right there.

WWE TLC was fucking great last night.

Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night.

Shameless was hilarious last night.

Your Honor was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the final two episodes of this season of Industry. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 322 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:

i did get mom's Christmas gifts wrapped today. we put a limit of 5 gifts on each other this year. so, i'm really hoping she likes what i got her.

Ohio State did make the college football playoff yesterday. they are the #3 seed. they will play Clemson in New Orleans on Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl.

i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i'm sure that's going to be fucking crazy tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

one of those Fridays where i should have just stayed in bed...

i guess with death always in the news and certainly on my mind the last few days, today i reached my breaking point. next thing i knew, i was down one rabbit hole on YouTube and 3 hours had passed. so yeah, i'm not sure what's going to kick me out of this depression. i may try doing a recording this weekend, just for shits and giggles, to see how it comes out. i know i have a few poems in mind for my next SoundCloud recording.

the freeze warning starts tonight at midnight. nothing like listening to the furnace run all night in May. i think we're supposed to get down to the low 20's. fuck me.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Shelter in Place with Shane Smith was excellent last night.

No Mercy, No Malice with Professor Scott Galloway was great last night. i highly recommend that everyone watches it. below is the first episode.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Total Bellas was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher and Betty. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch some of the NFL schedule release last night. i like the New Orleans Saints schedule for the most part, other than one horrible road swing in the second half of the season. playing the Vikings in New Orleans on Christmas will be rather interesting.

all the songs in the music section today are from Belly Up Live. if you love live music, definitely check them out: http://bellyuplive.com/

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

hopefully i will be in a better mood, but don't get your hopes up.

the rain had to end sometime...

i could hear the rain last night over the fan i have in my room. and the fan is usually loud enough to drown out the music i always have playing at night. just hearing the rain last night made me ache even more. but, i amazingly did find a spot and got somewhere near 6 hours of sleep. of course, i paid for that when i woke up this morning and my whole body popped when i got out of bed. it was like i was cracking my knuckles and the rest of my body wanted in on the fun. good times.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i went through the poems and came up with 10 i will probably be sending out tomorrow. i guess i'll take a shower since i will have to go to the post office to send these poems out.

The Voice last night was pretty good. only one performance really blew me away:

The Muppets was pretty funny last night. i wonder how great the show could be if it was on HBO or Showtime.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be American Horror Story: Hotel and You're The Worst. i will be watching NXT on the WWE Network.

Manchester United plays Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup today. with Chelsea and Arsenal losing yesterday, this is suddenly a trophy that United could actually win. i have no clue who LVG will play today as it is obvious that many players need a rest after this run of games. plus, you want to make sure the right guys are ready for the game on Saturday. hopefully, i will be drinking a victory beer this evening.

my sister landed in Cape Town today. hopefully she's having a great time.

did all my fantasy football shit this morning. nothing quite liking waking up early on a Wednesday morning trying to figure out what is going to happen 4 days in the future. i'm still shocked that all 3 of my teams are 6-1.

my fantasy hockey team has started slow this week. not the right week for that to happen.

i'm still in the kitchen. if it dries out in the next day or so, i will try to get some pictures of the trees behind the house and the changing colors of the leaves. of course, all of my cameras are loaded for the computer that is currently dead, so that could get interesting.

that's all for me today. i will be on here sometime tomorrow afternoon.

hope this finds everyone enjoying a stiff drink somewhere.

bleary eyes and a splitting headache... welcome to Monday

i got a headache last night that nearly dropped me to my knees. it had to have been when the cold front was moving through. between that and trying to force myself to stay awake, just another weekend of a borderline sociopath.

i did watch the Grammy Awards last night. i thought some of the performances were good. but, the show overall was just ok. i know i am in the minority, but i can't stand Sam Smith's voice. to me it sounds like two cats fighting over a dead mouse. i was happy for Beck. i loved how he was shocked that he won. i felt old watching AC/DC start off the show. amazingly though, i knew everyone that performed. more useless information stuck in my fucking head.

shockingly, i did watch a good number of the shows i wanted to watch last night. i was in and out of sleep, so a few of them i'm going to try to catch tonight. so, it looks like Monday Night Raw is going to get the YouTube treatment tonight. i only got to see the last few minutes of Shameless last night so i HAVE TO watch the rest of it tonight. that was a holy fuck ending. i also want to catch Last Week Tonight and The Jinx tonight. mix in Gotham and a little wrestling, and you have my Monday.

as for the shows i did watch last night... Girls was good. Togetherness had me laughing. i really like that cast. House of Lies was good. Episodes was good. Total Divas was yet another fascinating hour of bullshit. i think i finally got some decent sleep around 5:30 this morning. of course, i was up and checking email 2 hours later.

team USA beat Panama 2-0 in a chippy soccer friendly yesterday. it was a good win as the boys have been spitting the bit in the second half for the last six months it seems. finally, a clean sheet and a good solid effort. here are the goals from yesterday:

the New York Rangers lost yesterday 3-2 in OT. i was happy that they got a point out of the game since quite honestly, they didn't deserve shit out of the game. they were asleep for the first 40 minutes. i am fearing what this team is going to look like when The King gets back from his injury.

i saw 18 cats when i fed them this afternoon. i guess they were a little hungry.

when i saw this last night, i smiled. easily, one of the best shows EVER:

mom just had a realtor over about the farm. he thinks we can get a decent price for it and have it sold by mid April. all i could think is from your lips to God's ears. if we can get anything over $5,000 an acre out here i will be beyond thrilled. that means i might actually have a decent vehicle to drive come the summer. the truck stalled out on me again today while getting the trash cans from down at the end of the lane. good times.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone had a great weekend. hopefully the weather is decent where you are. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

say hello to snow

so, the "experts" were partly correct with the weather forecast. it did snow. thankfully, we only got three inches of it. here are some pictures of the first snowfall on the farm in 2015:

you can see the rest of the pictures i took in the slideshow on the right hand side of this blog.

thankfully, the snow was pretty easy to shovel. of course, i managed to injure myself anyway. i think i pulled something in my left arm. i probably hurt it yesterday trying to change the water filter in the cellar. thank god i have a wonderful pain tolerance.

it's supposed to get really fucking cold tonight, well below zero. i might have to sleep with the wool socks on tonight.

the World Juniors gold medal game last night was crazy. i stopped watching when Canada got out to a big lead and then i turned back and Russia had cut the lead down to 1. i watched most of the game from there. Canada won 5-4.

Monday Night Raw was disappointing last night. i'm reserving complete judgment to see if all the bullshit from last night leads to something good. of course, given what i think of the company, i don't have much hope for anything good happening.

thankfully, Gotham was fucking awesome last night. the episode had so many twists and turns... edge of the seat type shit for the entire hour. one of the best shows on television.

i think i found the checks i'm going to order when we move. i definitely have to get the Batman checks i found today. too fucking cool.

i have no clue what i'm going to watch tonight. probably some college basketball. maybe i'll catch up on some reading.

i'm planning on breaking out the first poetry submissions of 2015 tomorrow. so, hopefully my arm isn't killing me too much as i have some fucking typing to do.

hope everyone is doing good. hopefully it is warmer where you are. if not, break out the hard stuff for tonight. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

Merry Christmas to all

well, the snow that was in the air when i went to bed last night certainly didn't make it to the ground.

i have a full day of basketball and figuring out what we're going to put where in the new house ahead of me, so i figured i would do this now.

i do hope everyone is having a great Christmas this year. i certainly have no complaints on my end.

in really the only Christmas tradition i have, this is what i listen to each Christmas morning:

i now have cats to feed, a shower to take and some boxes to start packing.

the eve of something

my neck still hurts. i figure it is a combination of the pinched nerve and the fucking weather. i see the doctor in a few days, so we'll see.

it has been very dreary and gloomy here today. rain and then more rain. and now some wind and the temperatures are dropping. have i ever told you how my bad back loves a cold front?

the Dayton Flyers took Georgia Tech behind the woodshed last night and beat the shit out of them. a 75-61 win that every fan will remember as a wonderful Christmas gift. the former coach of Dayton is still stuck in his ways that never got Dayton past superior mediocrity. i can't imagine he'll be at Georgia Tech for long. here are some highlights from last night:

after the game, i sat down in my chair to exhale and happened to look to the right. holy shit. the guy about 5 feet from me looks an awful like the pro wrestler Chris Hero. i tell my mom this because i bought one of his t-shirts for myself for Christmas. she looks at him and says that can't be him, too small. i take another look and say that's definitely him. sadly, he was busy talking to a guy and i'm not the type of asshole that will interrupt someone for a autograph or picture request. so, after we ate dinner at Waffle House, i got on the internet back at the farm. i went to his twitter account (@thechrishero) and sure enough, the last two tweets posted were about the Dayton basketball game. i showed my mother and she finally started to believe me.

i watched a little of the New York Rangers replay before i went to bed last night. i'm extremely happy with this 7 game winning streak. they are really starting to look like a team that can do some damage this season. here are some highlights from the 4-2 win over Washington:

those two victory beers went down very quickly. i think i may crack open the vodka my sister got me for Christmas to celebrate my fantasy football championship.

i've been a busy boy today on iTunes. you'll see what i'm talking about below.

i hope everyone is having a great Christmas Eve. whether you are with family or a hooker, i do hope you enjoy your time. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

a week to something or other

first off, a link i would like to share. http://www.tenaciouspoodle.com/2012/12/westboro-baptist-church-bringing-us.html i had a good laugh after reading that.

i'm really looking forward to seeing who wins The Voice tonight. i believe it's fairly obvious that Cassadee will win. she's grown on me over the weeks. i suppose i'm actually more psyched to see the performances. should be a nice send off for the season.

big game tomorrow for the Dayton Flyers. a little better competition than the previous teams on this winning streak. if they win the next 2 games at home i'll really start to believe that this team could do something this year. my fingers are crossed but i'm not holding my breath.

i had a nice huge win in fantasy football. always good to get revenge in the playoffs. i'm in the finals in one league with CBS Sports and in the semi-finals with my number 1 seed on NFL.com. i would love to pull off the double this year, but i know it won't be easy at all.

with a week to go to Christmas, i hope everyone is well, nearing the end or start of their shopping, and most of all, happy and peaceful.

not sure how many posts i will be doing here in the near future. of course, i could get hit with the writing bug and send out 20 poems in a blur, or maybe my end of the year trip to the doctor gets eventful. who knows.

a special thank you to Alan Catlin for the poetry in the mail.

hard to think of this as winter as the temp is around 60 degrees. just what i need is another fucking drought. the one over the summer didn't hurt us as bad as i thought it would. after insurance, we made out pretty good. but i don't think the ground can take another drier than shit season and still put out a decent crop. fingers are crossed.

so, i was shooting the shit this morning and see some Yankees news come across the wire. turns out A-Rod played most of 2012 with a torn labrum in his "good" hip. surgery next month and will be out 4 to 6 months. lovely. so the Yankees starting left side of the infield are now entering the relic stage of their careers where injuries should be the norm. i'll be interested to see how the brass figures out the replacement parts on a budget. this upcoming season already smells like a close but no cigar try for the playoffs. yuck.

and speaking of sports, had an interesting past Saturday. one thing i totally fucking hate is when a team plays down to their competition. drives me insane. so to see Manchester United and the Dayton Flyers both do it but still win was infuriating. i'm already readying the rubber room when all of this shit comes to fuck them later on in the season.

hope everyone i sent cards and some poetic gifts to get them soon and enjoy them.

i'm on the verge of winning all 3 fantasy football matches from this weekend. i've got decent leads in all 3. i won't watch much of the game tonight though, too much college basketball, The Voice, and Monday Night Raw to keep my brain active with. maybe one of these days i'll get a DVR and be somewhat normal.

or maybe not.

wish i had the balls to act out one of my great porn fantasies today. for some reason this woman brought a package from amazon.com out to the farm. attractive and curvy. of course, having no game i just smiled and said thank you and watched her walk away like the creep i am. and instead of watching soccer or doing some household chores, i spent the next 2 hours on redtube letting my imagination take a tour of filth.

thank god for a towel nearby.

totally loved the last 3 episodes of Boardwalk Empire. and i can't wait for a bunch of my favorites to come back next month. back to the old days of getting to sleep at 3 in the morning after all the Sunday night television.
