i almost got some decent sleep last night. almost. but, i did get up this morning and got some shit done before i had to get mom up. she had company coming over this morning for breakfast. she of course missed the text message sent this morning, so i only got her up 5 minutes before that company came. but, in the end, all went well. breakfast was good (biscuits and gravy) and everyone had enough to eat.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at UC, 66-59. you could tell Dayton was playing their 3rd game in 7 days. when you have no legs, jump shots don't go in. sure enough, it took Dayton over 11 minutes last night to get their first field goal.
the New York Rangers finally played like they gave a shit last night and won at Dallas, 3-1. helps when your goalie stops 41 of 42 shots.
i did watch some of Notre Dame defeating Indiana last night, 27-17. Notre Dame will now play Georgia on Jan, 1.
the Yankees made a trade last night with the Reds. they traded Jose Trevino to the Reds for 2 players. i do like the relief pitcher the Yankees got in the trade. today, the Yankees signed Paul Goldschmidt to play first base. just a one year deal, so i fucking love this move.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision and Saturday Night Live.
Ohio State plays at home tonight in the college football playoffs against Tennessee. i'm hoping Ohio State wins.
i'm sure i will watch plenty of the college football playoffs today and some of both NFL games. and i will probably sprinkle in some soccer, hockey and god knows whatever else.
Penn State is currently destroying SMU 28-0 at halftime in the college football playoffs.
i am going to try to get the blog done tomorrow sometime between when the Manchester United game ends and the New York Rangers game begins.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

so, i did get to the grocery store early today and made it back home in time to watch Manchester United. more on that in a bit. i tried my best to keep the grocery bill reasonable considering the list i was given was more like a scroll. i ended up saving $41 so the total of $209 was a little more palpable. so, we are fully stocked now. i wanted to do that just in case the weather truly turns to shit in the next few days. we're only supposed to get a few inches of snow, but when that is falling and the wind is blowing 60 MPH, i know it is going to be fucking crazy. and apparently everyone else shopping today was thinking the same thing. but, at least this time Kroger had more than two checkout lanes going.
Manchester United won today over Burnley in the League Cup, 2-0.
the New York Knicks won last night at home over Golden State, 132-94. they play Toronto at home tonight.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
the New York Rangers winning streak came to an end last night, losing in Pittsburgh, 3-2.
the Dayton Flyers had their first 40 point win last night in 10 years. they defeated Alcorn State, 88-46.
NXT was very good last night.

i did watch the Yankees press conference this morning to announce the signing of Aaron Judge and naming him the 16th captain of the New York Yankees.
they have another one tomorrow morning to introduce Carlos Rodon as the newest Yankee pitcher.
i believe i am making nachos for dinner tonight, so i need to get to work preparing all of that.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i have been in agony today with all this fucking rain around here. my arthritis is getting much worse, especially in my left knee. i'm 44 and feel like i'm in my late 70's. good times.
Manchester United took Leeds behind the woodshed yesterday and destroyed them. a 6-2 victory was music to my fucking ears. United are now 3rd in the league with a game in hand.
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday to the Chiefs, 32-29. i said the Saints were going to have to play a perfect game to win and i was right. they started way too fucking slow, made one too many mistakes and came up short. they play the Vikings on Christmas day. hopefully, the losing streak ends right there.
WWE TLC was fucking great last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night.
Shameless was hilarious last night.
Your Honor was excellent last night.

on the DVR tonight will be the final two episodes of this season of Industry. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did listen to episode 322 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:
i was really hoping Manchester United would have an easy game today, maybe flex some muscles and play big boy football today and dispatch Derby County with ease. apparently, today is the latest jolt to my senses that the days of Sir Alex are not only dead, they are never coming back. i almost wish Fellaini wouldn't have scored at the death to send the game to penalties. and sure enough, as soon as i saw that Phil Jones was coming up in the 8th round of penalty kicks, there was nothing but a sense of doom inside me. i'm old enough to have seen this shit before. of course Phil Jones fucked it up. as one person put it online, that sums up his entire Manchester United career. Derby won 8-7 on penalty kicks. so, the most realistic chance United had for silverware this season is fucking gone. maybe if it was a loss to another Premier League team, i wouldn't be so pissed. but, the constant playing down to your competition is not only a problem with the players, coaches, but also the fucking ownership. those assholes are only interested in making money.
the New York Yankees used 8 pitchers last night to defeat Tampa 4-1. that eliminated Tampa from any chance of making the playoffs. the magic number for the Yankees to clinch home field in the wild card game is 4.
the New York Rangers defeated New Jersey in OT last night, 4-3.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Voice was really good last night.
The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.
Young Sheldon was funny last night.
Jane Fonda in Five Acts was excellent last night. the pacing of it was perfect. it certainly didn't feel like you were watching for over 2 hours by the end of it.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, Mayans M.C., Mr. Inbetween and The Voice.
i'm not sure how much of that i will actually watch tonight as i have to be out of here before 7 in the morning for mom's doctor's appointment. i suppose i should actually get to bed before 3 in the morning.
i'll probably be on here in the afternoon tomorrow. i have no clue how long mom's appointment will be and i know she wants to get breakfast after that. and i'm guessing i will have shows to catch up on on the DVR. so yeah, afternoon sounds good.
a little poetry news before i go. i sent out 3 poems today to Cajun Mutt Press. when i hear back from J.D. i will pass along the verdict.
i have trash to go pick up and i'd love to get that done before it starts raining again and before it gets completely dark. we've had 1.5 inches of rain since yesterday.

i was absolutely depleted of all my energy yesterday after that New Orleans Saints game. i could barely move or talk, let alone fucking think. the Saints beat the Falcons 43-37 in OT. honestly, if the Saints would have lost the coin flip at the start of overtime, they probably would have lost by the same score. their defense couldn't stop shit in the game. thankfully, the offense overcame all of that and Drew Brees once again showed why is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. huge win for the Saints. they play next week at the New York Giants.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday in the home finale against Baltimore, 6-3. more troubling than the loss was the injury to DiDi Gregorius. he hurt his wrist on the game winning slide the night before. now, there is a chance he's out for the rest of the season. fuck me. the Yankees play tonight down in that dump in Tampa.
Big Brother was mostly a recap of the season show last night. i know Tyler won the first HOH. Kaycee won the second HOH. so on finale night (Wednesday), they will face each other to see who gets to pick which other person goes to the final with them. whoever wins, they should be smart enough to take JC to the final to really ensure they will win the $500,000. if Tyler is sitting next to Kaycee at the final, i have no damn clue who will win, but i'm willing to bet it will be a 5-4 vote.
The Deuce was really good last night.
Ballers was pretty funny last night.
Insecure was excellent last night. i can't believe the season finale is next week.
Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.
America to Me was really, really good last night.
Shameless was hilarious last night.
Kidding was pretty fucking dark last night. it was excellent.
i did watch a good portion of Tiger Woods winning his first PGA event in 5 years yesterday. i never thought i would see him win again, so that was certainly something to see.

it has rained all fucking day here. i have been miserable since i woke up this morning.
i was hoping to catch up on some sleep, but of course that never happened.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the League Cup.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. welcome back to the grind.
