apparently, the sun was taking the day off...

whenever it is rainy all the fucking time anymore, i get in a pretty bad head space. the pain from the arthritis is getting to the point where it's dragging all of me down. and i know on a good day, i can battle that and just move the fuck on. but, on the days where my past demons start to choke me and i don't feel like fighting for that next breath, i know what is coming next. and i really don't want to harm myself anytime soon, i just know that i won't be able to fight that forever. ah, the life of a poet. write about the pain. write about the pleasure derived from the pain. write about the bleak and the hopeless nights alone. write about a bit of sunshine on a day to commit murder. good times.

the USA women's team defeated Sweden today at the Women's World Cup, 2-0. that means they win the group and will face Spain on Monday. here are the others scores from today's games:
Netherlands defeated Canada 2-1, Cameroon over New Zealand 2-1 and Chile defeated Thailand 2-0.

in the Gold Cup last night, Martinique defeated Cuba 3-0 and Mexico defeated Canada 3-1. tonight, Nicaragua takes on Haiti and Costa Rica plays Bermuda.

NXT and NXT UK were really good last night.

both episodes of The Wrestlers were excellent last night.

i did get to the bank today and made a deposit. it looks like the bank had some roof damage and some windows blown out by the tornado. after that, i took a little drive down to the old Hara Arena. i saw so many hockey games and wrestling events there over my lifetime. to see the damage from the tornado and know the place will never exist again, it felt like a part of me was finally dead.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, Desus & Mero, two episodes of Life in Pieces, Baskets and Holey Moley.

the NBA Draft is tonight. i think the first three picks are pretty much a lock, so the draft really begins at number 4.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight against Houston. i really hope the Yankees just keep on winning.

my sister will be down here tonight. i think she's going to be here for a few days. joy.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

until then, have a good one...

what a night

i watched the last 2 minutes or so of the NBA Finals last night. and then for the next few hours, i sat in stunned amazement. i never thought i'd see Cleveland win anything in my lifetime. and honestly, it still feels like some bizarre world of fairy tales at the moment. having lived all my life in Ohio, i get the pain, the neediness, the heartache and all the tears that come along with failure. it makes success that much sweeter but also that much more rare. it's a damn state where the recession has never ended for most of it. and i'm not talking about the most recent one. i'm talking about the recession from the fucking 1970's. but, at least for a night, a good portion of this state got to feel like what the rest of the world gets to feel from time to time... a champion.

all the credit should go to LeBron James. he came back and said he would win a championship and he did. he got a triple double in Game 7, becoming only the 3rd player ever to do that. Cleveland became the first team to ever come back from being down 3-1 in the NBA Finals. LBJ was also the MVP of the Finals. he lead everyone on both teams in every damn stat. that's the first time any player has ever done that in the playoffs. and i will think of this as a series of Cleveland imposing their will and Golden State being so naive to think they could tug on superman's cape. after they said shit about LeBron after Game 4, they didn't win another fucking game.  in more shocking news, the fans didn't burn the city of Cleveland to the ground last night. i'm sure some people are still partying, celebrating the victory. it's been 52 years since Cleveland has won anything. they deserve it.

WWE Money in the Bank was saved by the fact that all the big matches over delivered last night. AJ Styles defeating John Cena was good. it could have been great if Cena would have lost clean. but his fucking ego wouldn't allow that. stupid. the ladder match was spectacular. i had no problem with Dean Ambrose winning the briefcase. Seth Rollins defeating Roman Reigns was perfect. and then having Dean Ambrose come out of nowhere to cash in the briefcase he had just won and become the new champion was great. all 3 former members of The Shield were the world champion in the same night. that should make for an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.

Euro 2016 Update:
France had no late drama yesterday, so they ended up in a 0-0 draw with Switzerland. they both advanced out of the group. Albania got a huge 1-0 victory, their first ever in a major tournament, over Romania. they are still alive among the 3rd place teams. today, England controlled most of the game but never could solve Slovakia. that game ended 0-0. Wales tromped Russia 3-0. that means Wales wins the group, over England. i'm sure that will be fun in the papers tomorrow in London. Slovakia is still alive among 3rd place teams and Russia is eliminated.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 7-4. they finished their road trip 3-3, just like a mediocre team would. they are off tonight.

the Sunday night shows were good. Silicon Valley was hilarious. Veep was really good. the season and now after watching it, series finale of Penny Dreadful was spectacular. i was in tears by the end of it. easily one of my favorite shows EVER. it will be missed. and finally, Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight, so i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.

i haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but the latest podcast from Sam & Cathy is out. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/samrobertsshow/sam-cathy-016-origin-of-sound

it has been hotter than shit here today. damn near 100 it feels like. nothing quite like going out to get the paper and then 30 seconds later you're racing to the toilet. have i mentioned how i'm so looking forward to the vacation in July to Cleveland?

i may do some writing tonight, especially if the wrestling is boring me.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

these damn dreary days

i woke up this morning and it was still raining. everything outside looks like a wet dog. i'm really hoping the sun comes out at some point today. maybe just even to open the fucking windows for a bit.

i did write a poem this morning. i haven't typed it up as i'm hoping for more poems to come. nothing quite like having a line come to you when you're taking the morning shit. and when it involves jesus and boobs, you know you have something.

enjoy a musical interlude as i go get a glass of water:

the New York Yankees won last night, 7-2. Adam Warren pitched great, Brett Gardner went 4-5 but all the headlines are about A-Rod getting his 3,000th hit:
today is Old Timer's Day at Yankee Stadium. they will be honoring Willie Randolph with a plaque in Monument Park. today will be the classic nostalgia fuck i always enjoy.

i didn't get done what i wanted to last night. so, i'm hoping i can do that today. i also know i need to vacuum and probably help mom in the garage. and if it fucking rains all day long, maybe i'll sneak in a nap somewhere.

here's some funny shit from last night:

on television today i'll be flipping through some soccer as the Women's World Cup starts back up, the Copa America, some baseball, avoiding golf as much as possible and like i usually do, i'll find some music channel to just zone out to.

tonight on the DVR i will have Power and ROH.

i guess i missed one hell of a show last night from ROH. i'm sure i'll see some highlights from it popping up on tv or YouTube here soon.

since it's the weekend, enjoy another video:

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully you have better weather than i do. go enjoy it. get drunk in the arms of a stranger and remember to only fuck the ones that cough.
