what a night...

i have a pinched nerve in my left shoulder that is trying its hardest to rain on my fucking parade right now. but, i'm hoping i have enough Jack Daniels in me to get through this and give that pain the middle fucking finger.

the New York Rangers won last night at home against Florida, 2-1, in OT. that ties the series at 1-1. Game 3 is Sunday afternoon down in Florida.

the New York Yankees won last night at San Diego, 8-0. that's a good way to start a road trip.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision and Lady Gaga Chromatica Ball.

Manchester United plays the FA Cup final later today against Manchester City. i'm hoping against everything that is sane and logical, that United can pull off a miracle today.

right after that the WWE King And Queen of the Ring will take place in Saudi Arabia.

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs on Saturday.

it is now 4 AM in my little bedroom here in Ohio. i guess i should try to get some sleep.

who knows, i may do another blog later in the day or early evening, especially if i get some feedback from the poems i sent out.

i hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

burning the candle at both ends...

my mother tends to forget that i don't go to sleep until i know she is asleep. well, for the past few nights, she has been waking up at 3 in the morning and then again at 4 in the morning. i'm guessing either bad dreams or she is mistaking dreams for reality again; spiders crawling on her, etc. so, last night i basically said fuck it and stayed awake. and when she had her little outburst at 4, i turned the light on in the hallway. she asked if i was still awake and i said of course, i don't go to sleep until someone else decides they want to stay asleep. she didn't even remember herself waking up at 3 AM. so, after a few minutes i could hear her snoring. my cue to actually try to fall asleep. so, i was asleep by 5 AM. up at 8 for no good fucking reason. i eventually got out of bed around 10:30 this morning. mom is sort of awake. hopefully, she will be awake by the time i get her to her doctor's appointment today.

the New York Yankees pissed away a lead last night and lost to Baltimore at home, 9-6. hopefully they will win the series tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

AEW Dynamite was pretty good last night.

both episodes of Mayans M.C. last night were excellent.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and NJPW.

Manchester United plays today at home against Chelsea. all United needs is 1 point to clinch a spot in the Champions League next season. hopefully, they will get all 3 points today.

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.

we had a cold front move through here last night. nothing like the temperature dropping nearly 40 degrees.

i have no clue when i will be on here Friday. i know mom wants to go out shopping. i'm hoping she feels up to doing that after her appointment today. i would love to go to Big Lots and get my hair cut tomorrow.

this is why nothing will change...

i got the news of the shooting yesterday in Texas while i was eating a late lunch. as the night went on and the death total increased, i just sort of slumped in my chair in complete apathy. nothing ever fucking changes in this country. and as much as i would love to say thoughts and prayers to the victims families etc., that is just so fucking trite anymore. and we all know, contacting your senators does fucking nothing. you have to vote out all the clowns if you ever want change and that won't happen either. i jokingly told mom that the Democrats should bait the Republicans and put forth gun reform they actually would vote for. just write a bill that no non-white person in this country can legally own a gun. the Republicans would jump at the chance to pass that in a heartbeat, just to say they did do something about gun reform. there is no fucking reason on this fucking earth that anyone should own an AR-15. let alone be legally allowed to buy one on their 18th birthday. and for once, i would love if someone would actually mention the need to heavily invest in mental health in this country. i haven't written any poems about all this shit yet, but i'm sure they will come eventually.

mom's appointment yesterday went well. i have to take her tomorrow to get some blood drawn before she does her physical therapy. and sometime they should be calling to set up an appointment with a psychiatrist. her doc and i both agreed that there needs to be a little mental health aspect to all of this as well. i think it could just be a tweak of her meds that could do the trick. it is obvious they aren't doing much for depression at the moment.

the New York Rangers defeated Carolina last night, 4-1, to even their series at 2-2. it is a best of 3 now. if the Rangers can get a win in Carolina, hopefully on Thursday, then they will have the chance to win the series at MSG. Carolina hasn't won a road playoff game yet.

the Yankees won last night over Baltimore, 7-6 in 11 innings. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.

at least i got the grocery shopping done before the fucking rain came today.

the local grocery store was taking cash only today. so, i didn't shop there as i hardly have any cash on me anymore. so, i got everything on the list at Kroger this week. as i told mom when i got home, i kept it under $200.

i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. if not then, it will be after i get back home from taking mom to physical therapy.

this rain is killing my back at the moment so that's all for me kids.

up into the 90's...

i tried the AC in the Highlander today and it was more or less just moving around hot air. so, as my father taught me as a child, windows down and drive fast. that's your air conditioning.

mom's doctor's appointment went well today. i think she liked this new doctor. he was pretty thorough and a good listener. she had to have some blood drawn afterwards. i'm hoping all her numbers are still good. she didn't bruise too bad from her fall yesterday. i took her to Burger King after the appointment so she could get her frozen Coke she loves so much. you know, whatever i have to do to stay in the will.

Monday Night Raw was ok last night.

The Voice was very good last night. i have no damn clue who is going to win tonight.

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to everyone out there. i guess in the new Memorial Day tradition around here, my bad back is telling me there are storms coming. hopefully, it won't be like the tornadoes of last year.

i did write a poem last night. i really liked it. hopefully, there are more to come.

VICE was excellent last night.

I Know This Much Is True was very good last night.

Insecure was great last night.

Hightown was really good last night.

Billions was very good last night.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels was very good as well last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Songland, Fuck That's Delicious, Axios and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 292 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2020/5/25/notsam-wrestling-292-the-messiah-amp-last-ride-revelations

i did watch a little of the Nascar race last night.

and the golf match between Tiger, Phil, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning was much better than i thought it was going to be.

i have to take mom to the doctor tomorrow morning for her appointment. i'm not sure when i'll be back from that. mom isn't a morning person, so i can't wait for this.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i hope your holiday Monday is good as well.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

my brain woke up on fire...

i got up at 7 this morning. 5 hours of sleep. that's pretty much as good as it gets for me. the word on my lips as i woke up was proletariat. i started laughing, figuring my brain was up for 45 minutes or so, brainstorming about god knows what. i just finished typing up the poem that came out of that mess. i like it. hopefully, there will be more to come.

the New York Yankees were rained out last night in Kansas City. they will play a day night doubleheader today. hopefully, they will win both games.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men was excellent last night. the final part of the documentary is next week.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i do plan on watching some of Game 6 between Milwaukee and Toronto tonight in the NBA playoffs. i'll be stunned if the Raptors don't finish it off tonight.

i will probably also watch the free part of AEW's first show tonight on YouTube. i'd love to get the whole show, but $50 is a little too high for my poor ass.

other than that, i'm hoping it will be a pain free day for the most part. i know that's highly unlikely, but i'd like to think i can still dream at my age.

i did watch a little of the first semifinal in the World Hockey Championships this morning. Finland defeated Russia 1-0. Canada plays the Czech Republic this afternoon in the other semifinal.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

there's not enough hours in the day...

my body is at the point where doing 3 fucking things in one day is probably going to need the assistance of cocaine. between taking mom to the doctor, shopping at Menards and going to the grocery store... my body needs an ice bath or a bottle of booze. i'm trying to take it easy with the alcohol as i know mixing it with muscle relaxers can be tricky. i'm not quite as young as my imagination likes to believe i am.

we got everything we needed at Menards and the grocery store today. of course, today would be the day it got hot and sticky. mom nearly passed out when we came out of Menards. my left leg started killing me when i woke up this morning. the muscle relaxers helped some, but not enough for what i was doing today.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against the Angels. hopefully they will do to them what they did in California, sweep them.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Major League Wrestling, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas and Mauro Ranallo: Bipolar Rock & Roller.

i will probably watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight. it could be LeBron's last game in Cleveland... again.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before the Champions League final. i will be rooting so damn hard for Real Madrid tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. if you are traveling, be safe. leave the drinking to the professionals.

one of those days where nothing goes right...

we got 2.9 inches of rain last night. i suppose that was a sign of things to come.

so i got a call from my mother this morning. i was expecting her to tell me what time to be at the hospital to take her home, etc. instead, she tells me that they aren't letting her leave. something to do with her sodium levels or something. i went up to the hospital later in the day and spent a couple hours with her. she called me again tonight to tell me they ordered a chest x-ray for her because of shortness of breath. i'm hoping that she's going to be released tomorrow or the Memorial Day holiday weekend is basically turning to shit.

i had a lovely experience while wiping my ass this morning. having a bad back is not a good thing in that moment. neither is having your left arch in your left foot decide that it is tired of life and wants out. these are the days where i look back at the 8 year old me and apologize.

to cap off this shitty day, i spilled a full glass of milk while i was working on the computer. a roll of paper towels later, i think i might have to replace the mouse before too long.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from Luis Severino last night and defeated the Royals 3-0. today's game was a rain out. the Yankees start a series with the Oakland A's tomorrow night in the Bronx.

NXT was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Lip Sync Battle.

i will probably spend most of the night flipping between Game 7 of the Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa series and Game 6 of Boston vs. Cleveland.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2017/5/25/wrestling-podcast-135-bruce-prichard

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night...
Langhorne Slim & The Law - The Way The Spirit Moves

i may try to do some writing tonight as well. lord knows i have enough frustration built up that there's going to be a release of some kind this evening.

that's all for me today kids. i do hope anyone reading this had a better day than me.

dark skies and only drizzle

it drizzled just enough to steam everything up today. at times i have felt good and at times my arthritis had me at the point of tears. good times.

The Voice season finale last night was really good. the performances were about as good as anyone could expect.
the behind the scenes shit was really funny...
and ultimately, while it wasn't whom i would have picked for the winner, i can't complain...

Deadliest Catch showed just how fucking strong Mother Nature really is last night. there's no way i would be out in that shit in the winter.

The Price Is Right: Big Brother was about as stupid as i thought it would be. it made for good background noise while checking emails last night.

the New York Yankees got some dominant pitching last night (only gave up 2 hits) and a steady offense to defeat Toronto 6-0. that's 6 wins in a row. i might have to hit the grocery store for more victory beers. hopefully they make it a lucky 7 in a row tonight. that would put them over .500 on the season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT and some other shit sometime tonight on WWE Network.

team USA has a soccer friendly against Ecuador tonight. i'm interested to see how they play against some much better competition.

i didn't watch much of the hockey game last night, although i did enjoy this goal from former New York Ranger Brian Boyle...

i'm really shocked that Golden State is down 3 to 1 now in the Western Conference Finals. i guess we'll see how good they really are now:

i did do a little poetry work today. i've got 13 poems ready to go out on Friday.

i broke out the camera the other day as the flowers coming up around the house are really looking good. here's a few of them:

memorial day in the rain

first off, a happy Memorial Day to everyone. thank you for your service to this country.

yesterday started off pretty good for me. Manchester United played against a Hull team that had to win. so, for the final score to be 0-0 i was pleased but also sad. i didn't want to see Steve Bruce get relegated. but, shit happens. and considering everyone that was playing in a game that United had no desire to play, a clean sheet was a welcome sight. that certainly was a nice audition by Victor Valdes for next season. even though the team finished in the top 4, this summer is going to be pivotal to actually win some titles next season.

next up was the Indianapolis 500. i am a huge Juan Pablo Montoya fan. i have been since the Formula 1 days. so, to watch him win his second 500 15 years after his first one was beautiful. that was one sweet victory beer:

little did i know, that was going to be the high for the day.

the New York Rangers got beat at their own game last night. Tampa played the perfect road game and won 2-0. so, now it's do or die time for the Rangers. Game 6 is Tuesday in Tampa. as much as i want to believe they can pull it off again with their backs against the wall, i have my doubts. but, like any suffering fool, i'll be watching.

the New York Yankees lost again last night, 5-2. the only thing i liked of the game was seeing the old faces at the Bernie Williams retirement ceremony:
they play again today against Kansas City. i have no clue when all this fucking losing is going to end.

as i'm watching that i'll probably also watch a little of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse championship. i believe it's Denver vs. Maryland.

i did watch a good portion of the basketball game last night. even after all these years, i'm still amazed at what LeBron can do:

the Sunday night shows were excellent. i watched most of them this morning. Nurse Jackie was great. Happyish was hilarious in a creepy way. Penny Dreadful was fucking brilliant. Silicon Valley was hilarious. and finally, Veep was pretty funny.

tonight on the television will be Monday Night Raw and god knows what else. i'm probably going to spend some time tonight writing and getting some submissions ready.

that and moving furniture around, helping mom. given the weather today, windy and rainy, i'm not going to have much fun today. my body is already aching from helping move the first two pieces of furniture. good times.

that's really all for me. hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. and hopefully, everyone enjoys today.

just how i pictured the weekend would start

went to my favorite sports bar last night, i am now paying for it on the toilet today. lovely.

the Yankees won last night with some good pitching (David Phelps, who of course took a line drive off his forearm, thankfully not broken) and some timely offense to win 9-4. sadly, Curtis Granderson got injured again, this time breaking his pinky finger on his left hand. just 11 fucking days since he came back from a broken right arm. fuck me. they play again tonight against a pitcher they have had little success against. i don't think i'll watch much.

it's a big sports day today. the Champions League final comes up here in a few hours. i'm rooting for Dortmund but i don't feel very confident in that. the New York Rangers play a MUST WIN game 5 not long after the Champions League match is over. then the Yankees game, some other playoff basketball and hockey, and then finish my night off with a little Ring Of Honor.

that is if i don't spend the rest of the day on the toilet.

i hope everyone enjoys the YouTube videos. if you do, pass them along, tell a friend, BUY THE BOOK, tell others to buy the book, etc. etc.

that's all for today. be well and piss someone off you don't like.

after a few midday beers

went to the red and blue game today at the University of Dayton. some quick observations, defense looks much better this year, the freshman look like they may contribute, but honestly, this team goes as far as Kevin Dillard takes it.

after that, got home to see that Manchester United won, 4-2. nice to see Wayne Rooney was feeling good enough today to score for both teams.

that didn't put me in the greatest of moods as Ohio State was losing at that time. add on that their best player was taken to the hospital and i figured this was a lost cause. cut to the touchdown with 3 seconds left and the 2 point conversion to tie it up at 22 and i was pretty much going ape shit. Ohio State wins in overtime 29-22. definitely a game they had no business winning. i love those. makes the alcohol that much better.

bought the cd of a local band tonight. check them out at http://humancannonball.bandcamp.com/.

long day of NFL games tomorrow, so i have no clue if i make it to Saturday Night Live, let alone Austin City Limits or Ring of Honor tonight. fuck, i'm getting old.
