i got up at 6:45 this morning. i knew when i went to sleep before 3 AM, i was going to be up early. it never fails. hell, even if i take drugs, i'm up early if i go to bed too early. i crashed late this morning and got a little nap in. so, i'm going on roughly 4 hours of sleep. that sums up the last 35 years of my life it seems. 4 hours of sleep.
the Yankees won yesterday at home against Cleveland, 6-0. they held Cleveland to just 1 hit in the game. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Colorado.
Big Brother was good last night. Brooklyn got evicted. T'Kor is the new HOH.
NJPW was good last night.

i figured i would start writing this now as i am busy waiting for Kroger to tell me my prescription is ready. it has always been the case, if i am waiting for something (phone call, email, etc.), go do something else and then it will happen. so, i'm putting that theory to the test.
plenty of bad shit to get to, so here we go...
the Yankees lost last night at Toronto, 9-2. they are playing like absolute shit right now. and sadly, i don't see it changing without some trades being made. they play again tonight in Toronto.
and the cherry on top of the suck last night, the USMNT lost to Panama, 2-1. the game was fucking nuts and dirty as hell. i hated the referee but i also hated how the USA took the bait from Panama and paid for it dearly. Tim Weah's red card was justified. the USA took the lead after that, but never figured out that you need to be a compact, precise defense when down to 10 men. didn't help that Panama ran Matt Turner and injured him so he couldn't play the second half. Panama had 3 times the number of fouls the USA did, but had the same number of cards the USA did. now, they will most likely have to beat Uruguay on Monday night to get out of the group. good fucking luck with that.
i didn't watch one second of the debate last night. i'm not thrilled that our only options are old men to lead this country.
instead i watched Uruguay defeat Bolivia 5-0 in the Copa America last night. just as much of a horror show as the debate.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher and Fantasmas. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
i will probably watch a little of the Copa America games tonight. Columbia plays Costa Rica and Paraguay takes on Brazil.
the Euro 2024 games start back up tomorrow. time for the knockout rounds.
the NHL Draft is tonight. the New York Rangers have the 30th pick, so i probably will keep track of that on my phone. i know the Rangers are actively trying to trade some players. i actually hope they swing for the fences and dramatically change the team like Florida did a few years ago. they saw in person what those trades did for that team.
i was saddened last night when i found out that Kinky Friedman had died. another one of those one of one types of heroes for me. there will never be another...

it was one of those days. i tossed and turned until 6 this morning. i finally fell asleep and woke up at 10. joy. made some coffee, had some breakfast and then didn't make it to the toilet in time. fuck me. so, i had a little laundry to do. these are the days where i just shake my head and realize the 8 year old me was the smartest one i knew. for those of you who wonder why i always reference that... it was at 8 years old that i first thought of suicide. and given all the pain, rejection and endless amounts of effort put into this world for nothing... imagine all of that being spared and ceasing to exist. i don't want to make suicide this glamorous thing because it isn't. i have people i love that have done it or even tried it. but, i never judge anyone that chooses that route. not my place to do that. mostly because, i have been there and if my circumstances would have been different, i would have done it. i tried it once at 17, but didn't know at that point in my life you need to snuff out the will to live to accomplish your goal. now, at 48, i know such things. but i don't think i have the strength, unless i am a few bottles of Jack Daniels in, to snuff out the will. but, i do know i am capable. so, i tuck it away like an Irish goodbye. don't worry, i have too many irons in the fire to do something like that right now. the light still makes it through the darkness. when that changes, then worry.
i did catch a little of the Oscars last night.
the series finale of Hightown was good. the show was crazy and while i hope there will be a spin off, i won't be shocked when there isn't.

Tampa Bay defeated Colorado last night, 3-2. that forces Game 6 Sunday night in Tampa.

i went to Meijer yesterday to find some things for mom. it started drizzling when i arrived. i did find everything on the list and by the time i was checking out, it was pouring outside. this also meant all the registers were running slow unless you were paying with cash. now, thank you to the woman in front of me in the line at Meijer. she might have had the best ass i have seen on a black woman in my entire life. that certainly made waiting way more fun than it should have been. it was raining so hard yesterday, that a much safer version of me would have pulled over and just waited. so, of course, i drove straight through. we had 1.7 inches of rain in under 45 minutes. thankfully, i was able to find some better lighting for mom's bathroom. i'm hoping that will help her not fall again in there.
the New York Yankees won yesterday against the White Sox, 7-5. they play a doubleheader today. hopefully, the Yankees will win both games.
George Carlin's American Dream, Part 2 was excellent last night. i would highly recommend both parts of the documentary.
the season finale of Saturday Night Live was very good last night. it was the final show for Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson and Kyle Mooney.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoff game last night. there are 3 games today.

on the DVR tonight will be Barry, The Baby, Last Week Tonight, Gaslit, Ziwe.
the New York Rangers play Game 3 this afternoon at home against Carolina. this is a MUST WIN game, that's for sure.
Manchester United closes out the season today at Crystal Palace. if United wins, they will clinch a spot in the Europa League next season. if not, they will most likely finish 7th, if West Ham wins. given all the injuries and whatnot, i could see them losing today to a Palace squad that has absolutely nothing to play for other than pride.
i almost forgot about The Preakness Stakes yesterday.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before mom's physical therapy appointment.
i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
since it was supposed to rain this afternoon (so far, not a fucking drop, just some thunder), i did the grocery shopping this morning. i got everything on the list and spent less than $100. mom was a bit shocked by that. as of right now, everyone has to wear a mask when out in the Ohio county i reside in. i wore my Saints mask today. i have plenty to choose from now.
i did watch the Red Scare today play in the TBT. they won 77-68. they play on Friday against House of 'Paign, who upset Carmen's Crew (the #1 seed and winner from last year).
Ringo Starr's Big Birthday Show was really good last night.
Deadliest Catch was very good last night.
Dirty Jobs was pretty funny last night.

today is the day of the only college football game that has ever truly mattered to me. Ohio State vs. that shit school up north. i can remember so many childhood years fucking ruined by a great Ohio State team losing to a team you simply are not allowed to lose to. Ohio State has won 7 years in a row. they have never won 8 in a row. so, i truly hope today is a history making one. it would be even better if an Ohio State win costs that fucking clown that runs the shit school from up north to lose his job. that would almost make up for all that shit so many years ago.
the season finale of Room 104 was excellent last night.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.
the New York Rangers pissed away a 2 goal lead yesterday and lost at Boston, 3-2 in OT. the Rangers play this afternoon at New Jersey.
the trip to the grocery store turned into a fiasco yesterday. mom decided she wanted me to go to the drugstore to get some shit there. that took up 45 minutes of my life i will never get back. thankfully, the grocery store was basically empty.

i was so out of it this morning, as i was walking in the parking lot of the hospital where my doctor's appointment was, i realized i was wearing the shoes i normally wear around the house. i just started to laugh. i'm officially a nonplussed asshole who doesn't give two shits anymore.
so for the next month or so i will be going through some blood tests, an ultrasound, etc. to rule out everything that isn't wrong with my liver. the doctor believes it's most likely fatty liver disease. of course, i won't know until probably October. i'm not really stressed about this. i've been losing weight, mostly from apathy and eating less.
i haven't got much sleep after getting back home, so i'm running on fucking fumes at the moment. that's why i'm drinking an energy drink with hemp in it. good times.
the New York Yankees won in Seattle last night, 5-4. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i'm not sure what the fuck they were thinking with the tag team turmoil match, but i'm going to wait until Clash of Champions to see if i hate it or not.

i got up at 7 this morning. 5 hours of sleep. that's pretty much as good as it gets for me. the word on my lips as i woke up was proletariat. i started laughing, figuring my brain was up for 45 minutes or so, brainstorming about god knows what. i just finished typing up the poem that came out of that mess. i like it. hopefully, there will be more to come.
the New York Yankees were rained out last night in Kansas City. they will play a day night doubleheader today. hopefully, they will win both games.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men was excellent last night. the final part of the documentary is next week.
Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was great last night.

i do plan on watching some of Game 6 between Milwaukee and Toronto tonight in the NBA playoffs. i'll be stunned if the Raptors don't finish it off tonight.
i will probably also watch the free part of AEW's first show tonight on YouTube. i'd love to get the whole show, but $50 is a little too high for my poor ass.
other than that, i'm hoping it will be a pain free day for the most part. i know that's highly unlikely, but i'd like to think i can still dream at my age.
i did watch a little of the first semifinal in the World Hockey Championships this morning. Finland defeated Russia 1-0. Canada plays the Czech Republic this afternoon in the other semifinal.

i believe we got a good 3 to 4 inches of snow last night. i don't really feel like going out and shoveling this morning or afternoon for that matter. so, i'm really hoping one of the neighbors and his kids feel like doing a good deed today.
when the USA got down 2-0 to Canada yesterday at the World Juniors, i was not happy. when they were down 3-1 after two periods, i was not happy. but midway through the third period, the USA finally started to play their way. they got the score even at 3 by the end of regulation. nothing happened in OT, so it was off to the shootout. when the first two guys scored for the USA, i felt like i could finally breathe. no one from Canada scored in the shootout so the USA won the game 4-3. it's a pretty big win, but they will need to defeat Finland tomorrow to get the easier draw in the quarterfinals.
Ohio State smothered USC on defense last night, causing 4 turnovers and 8 sacks. that's a good way to win. USC had nearly 200 more yards than Ohio State but could only score 7 points. that's as many points as Ohio State's defense scored. Ohio State won the Cotton Bowl 24-7. it was the final game of J.T. Barrett's Ohio State career. i believe he has every damn record for a QB in Big Ten history now.
NJPW last night was the 60 minute draw between Okada and Omega. i believe i now have all 3 matches of their epic trilogy on the DVR.
the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night at Detroit, 3-2. at least they got a damn point out of the game. every single fucking point matters now in the season. their next game will be outdoors on New Year's Day against Buffalo.

Manchester United plays in a little bit at home against Southampton. i'm really hoping the boys can get back to winning.
the Dayton Flyers start their A-10 season on the road today at Duquesne. i have no idea what to expect. Dayton should win today, but i wouldn't be surprised if they lost either.
i'm sure i'll probably watch some other football and basketball games today as well.
i ended up typing up 5 poems yesterday. that puts the number at 40 for this month. that's a nice round number to end on. i'll probably send out some poems the first week of January.
that's all for me kids. i hope everyone enjoys their Saturday. hopefully you're not buried in snow.

the New York Yankees won Game 4 last night against Cleveland 7-3. that forces a Game 5 back in Cleveland on Wednesday. i didn't watch any of the game, although i did follow from time to time on the internet. Cleveland has lost their last 5 games when trying to close out a series. i really hope the Yankees make it 6. i'm trying to not think about the Yankees were just one fuck up away from their manager from winning the series last night.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i love having The Shield back together. plus, i was so happy to see Kalisto win the Cruiserweight championship from Enzo last night.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against St. Louis. i'd love to see the boys make it 2 wins in a row.
