i wasn't using that hour anyway...

i did remember to turn back the clocks last night. sometime today, i'll get around to checking the smoke detectors.

i did do a little poetry work last night. watch out for another blog post this afternoon about the poems i'm sending out later today.

Ohio State defeated Nebraska yesterday, 26-17. i hated that they never really tried to establish the running game. that nearly cost them the game against a team that really, is only good enough to cover the spread and that's it.

i did watch a few other games yesterday while doing my laundry.

the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night in Calgary, losing 6-0. as the coach said after the game, at least we're done playing Calgary this season.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Succession, Insecure, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Last Week Tonight, Hightown, the season finale of American Rust, Desus & Mero and Dexter: New Blood.

the New Orleans Saints play today at home against Atlanta. hopefully, the Saints will find a way to win again.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon, sometime after i take mom to get her booster shot at Rite Aid.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

nothing like waking up with a bad back...

i spent most of this morning with ice on my back wondering why the fuck it felt like i had a boulder or two sitting on my lower back. i think i finally passed out from the pain and slept a little. mom had to wake me up to drive her to her doctor's appointment this afternoon. i guess the ice worked.

the doctor's appointment went pretty good. there was a few traffic fuck ups near where we were, so i had to take some detours. i missed where i was supposed to turn, so i ended driving closer to the city of Dayton, actually closer to the hospital where my mother worked. once i got closer to where all the strip clubs used to be, i knew exactly where i was.

we went to Waffle House for lunch today. that seems to be the only food that doesn't fuck with my mother's stomach. we had lasagna last night from Omaha Steaks. lets just say there will never be a need to order that again.

the Yankees lost yesterday 4-2 and then lost again this afternoon, 10-5. swept by the fucking Rays. also, knocked out first place by the Rays. with Stanton, Judge and LeMahieu out, they are certainly a different team. and then add in that Britton went on the injured list this morning, Gleyber Torres injured his hamstring this afternoon and Paxton had soreness in his left forearm. fuck me. and now comes the cherry. their first game against the Mets tomorrow has been postponed since someone with the Mets tested positive for COVID-19. joy.

NXT was really fucking good last night. i can't wait for Takeover 30 this Saturday.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i have no clue who is getting evicted tonight.

Cari & Jemele Stick To Sports was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Cake and Desus & Mero. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will probably watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight. and i'm hoping to catch the NBA Draft lottery this evening, mostly because i'd love to see which teams Obi Toppin might end up going to.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i should be on here tomorrow after i get done shopping. mom wants to go with me to the drugstore. that should be an adventure.

anger, my old friend...

the Dayton Flyers lost about 14 hours or so ago. i'm still fucking pissed. now, it was the perfect storm... Obi Toppin got injured in the first half and never was the same again in the game. Ryan Mikesell shit the bed last night, 4 fucking fouls and no fucking points. but, the biggest factor in Dayton's 64-55 loss to Saint Louis was their head coach, Anthony Grant. i think Saint Louis coach Travis Ford put it best in the post game, when asked why his team switched to a 1-3-1 zone defense in the game... well, we know their coach doesn't make any in game adjustments. bingo. exactly. i warned everyone 2 fucking years ago that hiring Anthony Grant was the wrong move and it signaled a willingness to accept mediocrity. and to watch that motherfucker hope that Dayton gets picked to play in the NIT disgusted me to the nth degree. when all the transfers get eligible next season, that should be the make or break season for Coach Grant. if they play down to their competition next season, piss away leads left and right and lose their first game in the A10 tournament once again, he MUST be fired. now, i know damn well, the current athletic director doesn't have the fucking nuts needed to do what must be done. it would have made so much more fucking sense to go find the next great young coach and watch him develop and be surrounded by great facilities. instead, they go out and hire someone who won't leave them, because he graduated from the school. for the prices the fans pay, mediocrity shouldn't be the fucking goal. and they can tell everyone time and time again that it isn't, but this whole season, masked as an improvement, was one of those seasons where you could see the coach is literally incapable of getting the best from the team. and for someone who came from the NBA, you would think the motherfucker would understand how to take advantage of time of possession, mismatches, etc. NOPE. last night was as depressing as much as it was an anger inducing shit show. to see Dayton's coach get out-coached by someone who fucking sucks just as much was intolerable to watch. and if they do get selected to play in the NIT, it would be to play on the road since UD Arena will be hosting the First Four. it doesn't really matter, they'll lose that game as well.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Calgary, 5-1. i might have watched 5 minutes of the game or so. lose for Hughes boys. they play again tonight at Minnesota. should be another loss. start playing the kids more, please.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

NJPW was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

Manchester United plays later this afternoon in the FA Cup against Wolves. hopefully the boys will advance.

i'll probably sprinkle in some baseball (New York Yankees) and some college basketball today as well.

i'll probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. hopefully. let's just say, i'll be on here before i start any drinking tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail.

until tomorrow kids...

one of those days where nothing goes right...

we got 2.9 inches of rain last night. i suppose that was a sign of things to come.

so i got a call from my mother this morning. i was expecting her to tell me what time to be at the hospital to take her home, etc. instead, she tells me that they aren't letting her leave. something to do with her sodium levels or something. i went up to the hospital later in the day and spent a couple hours with her. she called me again tonight to tell me they ordered a chest x-ray for her because of shortness of breath. i'm hoping that she's going to be released tomorrow or the Memorial Day holiday weekend is basically turning to shit.

i had a lovely experience while wiping my ass this morning. having a bad back is not a good thing in that moment. neither is having your left arch in your left foot decide that it is tired of life and wants out. these are the days where i look back at the 8 year old me and apologize.

to cap off this shitty day, i spilled a full glass of milk while i was working on the computer. a roll of paper towels later, i think i might have to replace the mouse before too long.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from Luis Severino last night and defeated the Royals 3-0. today's game was a rain out. the Yankees start a series with the Oakland A's tomorrow night in the Bronx.

NXT was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Lip Sync Battle.

i will probably spend most of the night flipping between Game 7 of the Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa series and Game 6 of Boston vs. Cleveland.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night...
Langhorne Slim & The Law - The Way The Spirit Moves

i may try to do some writing tonight as well. lord knows i have enough frustration built up that there's going to be a release of some kind this evening.

that's all for me today kids. i do hope anyone reading this had a better day than me.

when the days just start running together

when the weather cools down and the sunshine appears to be hiding for most of the day, the blahs tend to start coming out and the days just run together. sprinkle in some apathy and a heavy disdain for life, and you have the recipe for depression my friends. i try to keep myself busy, which tends to keep me from thinking. or diving too deep into this vast unknown swimming in my head. of course, that means i spend most of the day just listening to music or reading old magazines. i imagine if i had money, my day would be spent doing other things.

there wasn't much of Monday Night Raw that was good last night. i enjoyed the brawl between Owens and Rollins that ended the show. i also enjoyed the contract signing for the first ever women's hell in a cell match. other than that, the show stunk. and that's not a good sign with a ppv coming up on Sunday.

The Voice entered the knockout stage last night. some of the performances were fucking amazing.

Vice News Tonight was excellent last night.

Gotham was spectacular last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice and Atlanta.

the NBA season starts tonight as does the World Series. just a few months ago i was exactly where most of the eyes of the sports world will be tonight. Cleveland, Ohio. the Cavs will be hoisting the championship banner at the same time the Indians will be playing the Cubs in the World Series. talk about a clear sign the world is coming to an end.

here's some artwork from the Swedish genius Janne Karlsson, with lines taken straight from this blog:

i'll be on here tomorrow, probably right after the Manchester United game with Manchester City ends. the latest edition of the Manchester derby comes in the EFL Cup. i believe this is the round of 16 or something like that. i have no damn clue how United is going to play after the Chelsea debacle. hopefully i'll be in a good mood. if not, simply expect a few lines of expletives. and then a few more.
