at least the day got better as it went along...

so, the Manchester derby yesterday was a fucking bore. United and City (0-0) treated it like a fucking friendly. hell, one of my Amazon.com packages showed up in the middle of the match and i took care of that instead of watching.

the Dayton Flyers won yesterday in 2 OTs, 85-82 over Mississippi State. it was a battle of attrition really and somehow Dayton won. this was the first time they had ever beaten Mississippi State. Jalen Crutcher played all 50 minutes yesterday. it's painfully obvious, right now, this team is at best, 7 deep. they are off for a week now for finals.

amazingly, the Columbus Crew out played Seattle last night by a mile and defeated them 3-0 to win their second MLS Cup. i'm really happy for the players and fans, especially since the franchise almost went away 3 years ago.

The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart was really, really good last night. the best part of the whole documentary was just how fast it went. it never dragged for the entire time.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Power Book II: Ghost, Shameless, Your Honor and Desus & Mero.

the New Orleans Saints play later this afternoon at the Eagles. hopefully, the Saints just keep on rolling today.

i have to take mom to the doctor tomorrow morning for her colonoscopy. i have to have her there before 8 AM. fuck me. so, i guess i'll be going to bed long before my usual 4 AM bedtime tonight. i'll probably be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

i got all the baseball and hockey cards that needed to go in toploaders done yesterday. i guess my other package from Amazon will be here on Tuesday.

mom bought me a new winter coat with an inside pocket. none of the coats or jackets i have have that inside pocket for my cell phone. i was a little surprised it got here as quick as it did. and holy shit, it is a warm coat. i told mom i will probably not have to wear anything but a t-shirt underneath it.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

i could use more than just a nap these days...

it's always fun to wake up on a Sunday morning and realize you forgot to check your email before you went to bed. and the first email you happen to open is a rejection email from Hobo Camp Review on the poems you sent back in June. that usually gives me the right amount of piss and vinegar in my mouth for the rest of the day. joy.

Ohio State played an amazing first quarter yesterday against Florida Atlantic. my guess is they didn't want too much on film of all their new parts, so that's the reason they played like shit for the rest of the game. Ohio State won, 45-21. they play Cincinnati next week. they will have to play better to win that game.

the New York Yankees got 4 solo home runs yesterday. thankfully, that was enough to defeat Oakland 4-3 in 11 innings. they will go for the series win this afternoon.

NXT UK Takeover:Cardiff was great yesterday. it honestly felt like it was on par with the regular NXT Takeovers. and that match between Tyler Bate and Walter was off the charts fucking great.

i did watch a good amount of college football last night, including Aurburn's amazing win over Oregon.

ROH was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, Succession, Ballers, The Righteous Gemstones, The Affar and On Becoming A God in Central Florida.

i saw snippets from AEW's event last night. i can't wait for the Wednesday wrestling wars to begin.

i get the feeling i'm going to spend most of today trying to catch up on some sleep.

i have no clue when i will be on here for Labor Day tomorrow. if my recent pattern of shitty sleep persists, i'll probably get the blog done in the morning.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

with rain off in the distance

i woke up this morning with that all too common ache in my bones. i knew rain was in the area. the "experts" said there are supposed to be some showers in the afternoon. i'll probably be beyond miserable by then.

Ohio State played down to the competition yesterday and won 24-20 over Northwestern. i honestly think the offense is beyond fucking lost at this point. and you can tell the defense is at the point where they are wondering when the fuck the offense is going to do something to pick them up. they will have to be better next week if they think they are going to beat Nebraska.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night.

ROH was really good last night.

the Bill Murray: Mark Twain Prize special last night was great. and also, it is well deserved.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of The Strain, Westworld, Divorce, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, Shameless and Masters of Sex.

i'll be watching WWE Hell in a Cell for most of the evening. no matter how bad Monday Night Raw has been, this, at least on paper, has everything you need to be a great ppv.

the Sacramento Kings won last night, 106-103 over the Timberwolves. they are now 2-1 on the season. i'm hoping against hope that they can keep it up.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa Bay. hopefully the boys can start a new winning streak tonight.

congratulations to my sister on passing her test this morning. she's now a step closer to getting a job she might actually enjoy.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against Seattle. hopefully the Saints can get a victory today. i certainly could use a drink.

i hope everyone had an excellent Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

the joy of adrenaline

last night was a roller coaster of emotions for me. the series between the New York Rangers and the Montreal Crybabies has become so badly officiated that even non hockey fans can tell the league wants Montreal to win so the country of Canada will actually watch the finals. like they aren't going to be watching anyway. amazingly, despite the best efforts of Montreal and all 4 officials last night, the Rangers won 3-2 in OT. a beautiful goal from Martin St. Louis to win it. the Rangers are now 1 win away from going to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1994. my playoff beard looks ridiculous and i couldn't be more proud. below is the recap to the game:

the Yankees are currently in a rain delay as i type this. i figured i would do this blog now as i know a rain delay in St. Louis could actually be for hours when it only looks like it would be 10 minutes. if it does go long, i suppose i'll just add it to the other stuff i'm watching tonight.

Monday Night Raw, playoff hockey and basketball and god knows what else.

i did catch Penny Dreadful, Californication, and Nurse Jackie last night. i was so wired from the game that i ended up watching them again, after Total Divas, just to make sure i didn't miss anything. so i ended up falling asleep around 4 in the morning. of course, i was up before 8 in the morning. who the fuck needs sleep.

the only real Memorial Day tradition i have is watching the NCAA lacrosse championship. it was a great game this year. Duke was killing Notre Dame early. ND came back to make it a game late, which made it highly entertaining. Duke wins 11-9.

that's all for me kids. i'm going to go take a nap as the weather has heated up here big time. it got up to 87 degrees this afternoon. i closed up the house and turned on the air conditioner. it's comfortable enough in here that i could fall asleep in about 30 seconds. i'm hoping we don't get some storms tonight, like what usually happens when it gets this warm. i'll gladly take the rain for the crops... but i don't need the thunder and lightning and everything else that comes with that.

hope everyone had a great day. hope everyone has a great evening.

peace.
