trade deadline day...

 today is the trade deadline day in the MLB. i'm a little less than thrilled with what the Yankees have done so far. i'm holding out hope for a big time pitcher before 6 PM.

my back has been killing me today. thankfully, i did make it to the post office to get some books back to my partner in crime. trust me when i say this folks, this book is going to be great:

the Yankees won last night at the Phillies, 14-4. hopefully, they saved some runs for tonight.

the USA won today in men's soccer at the Olympics, 3-0. first time they have made it to the knockout round since 2000.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

time for the weekend...

 so, i'm getting to this much later than i was hoping to, but not because of anything other than my bad back. i took a shower late last night, hoping i could get the thing looser so i could sleep in my bed for a change. needless to say, that didn't happen. so, i slept in the massage chair again. i got something close to 4 hours. that will have to do.

the Yankees won last night over the Royals, 11-5. basically it was the Aaron Judge show. he took away a home run in right field and hit two of his own. that gives him 41 home runs. only he and Babe Ruth have hit 40 or more home runs for the Yankees before August.

Red Scare won last night in the TBT to advance to the semifinals later today. 2 wins away from a million dollars.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching WWE SummerSlam for most of the evening.

i did watch a little of the Manchester United game this morning. they lost 1-0 in Norway to Atletico Madrid. i'm not putting much into this as it was a friendly, but the season does start in a week or so.

i'm sure i will watch some MLS games today as well.

with any luck, i'll actually get a chance to do some writing today. hopefully.

trade deadline day...

 today is the trade deadline day in the MLB. so, i'm typing this up with one eye on the TV and my phone to see if the Yankees make any moves, especially after they shocked me yesterday by getting Anthony Rizzo from the Cubs. no one saw that coming.

so, let's start with the Yankees game yesterday. they lost to the Rays, 14-0. i turned the damn game off in the first inning. not good. the Yankees start a series tonight down in Miami. oh great, National League rules again.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NXT UK was very good yesterday.

Big Brother was good last night. Brent got evicted and Christian is the new HOH.

Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.

the USMNT defeated Qatar last night, 1-0. they will face Mexico in the final of the Gold Cup on Sunday, as they defeated Canada last night, 2-1.

the USA women's basketball team defeated Japan last night, 86-69.

the USWNT defeated the Netherlands today at the Olympics in a penalty shootout, 2-2 (4-2). that advances them to the semifinals against Canada.

so it cost $271 to get the garage door fixed this morning. the circuit board was blown and the spring needed to have more tension on it. the guy doing it had a very thick Russian accent. thankfully, i could understand him.

so, at the time that was going on, my mother had her nurse and her physical therapist here. talk about a zoo.

i did watch a decent amount of the NBA Draft last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, The Shop, Real Time with Bill Maher and Back on the Record With Bob Costas. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

thankfully, the humidity and heat sort of broke today. i was able to turn the AC off and air the house out a bit.

so, apparently the Yankees just traded for Andrew Heaney from the Angels. they gave two prospects from the minor leagues for him. he's a left handed pitcher, but i don't know if they are planning on using him as a starter or in relief.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

what a rainy day...

i didn't get to bed until almost 7 this morning. i actually wrote 5 poems last night and typed them up. those were the first poems i have written in over 3 weeks. and as i am finding better pricing guides online for my baseball cards, i'm going through and finding shit i have missed over the last few weeks. so yeah, the hours are rolling together and i'm sure before too long it will be Halloween...

the New York Rangers lost last night to the Islanders, 2-1. everytime i turned the game on, it seemed like the Rangers were killing off a penalty. i'm kind of torn with their series against Carolina starting on Saturday. i'd love to see them win and actually compete for the Stanley Cup this year. but, i also know if they lose, they will have a good chance of getting the #1 pick in the NHL Draft. and that could set up a future dynasty. decisions, decisions...

the New York Yankees won at Baltimore last night, 9-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

NXT was really damn good last night.

AEW was really damn good last night as well.
