at least i got a nap today...

i had to go out to Rite Aid today because as i was doing my pills for the week last night, i didn't realize we were out of Benadryl. so, i got two boxes of that today and another sharps container as i know one of them is just about full. thankfully, i had a coupon that got me $5 off.

other than that, i got a good nap this afternoon watching the Europa League action. went 3 out of 4 on my bets with that. never thought Brighton was going to lose at home. so, 7 out of 8 in the Champions League and 3 out of 4 in the Europa League. so close to actually making some money. damn.

the Yankees lost last night to Toronto, 6-1. i think if they lose tonight they are officially eliminated from the playoff race. hell, they already know they have no fucking shot at that. i think the only thing left is to try to stay above .500. they are currently 76-76 with 10 games left in the season.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure Cameron will be the first one evicted tonight. i really hope someone unexpected goes out with the second eviction tonight.

American Horror Story was very good last night. just enough paranoia to keep me interested throughout.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and NJPW.

the USWNT plays a friendly tonight against South Africa. it is Julie Ertz last match with the team.

the New York Giants play at the 49ers tonight. hopefully the few bets i have on that game are winners.

i will be on here tomorrow after my doctor's appointment in the afternoon. i know i need to pick up mom's pills after that. and Rite Aid just texted me, so i'll be going there before i get back home. joy.

trying to trick the mind...

so, my mother has her surgery tomorrow for the skin cancer on her face. i'm trying to not think about anything or give her any negative vibes as her anxiety will do plenty of that to herself. my sister is coming down to take her to the facility. that way, i can actually sleep some and eat at my normal time in the morning.

the Dayton Flyers whipped St. Bonaventure last night, 68-50. when the youngest team in America can beat one of the most experienced like that, i am so hopeful for the future. the boys are becoming men much faster than i expected.

NXT was very good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Batwoman, I Can See Your Voice and AEW Dynamite.

Manchester United plays Brentford today. hopefully, the boys will find a way to win.

cinco de mayo...

i was absolutely shocked at what the New York Rangers did today. they fired their general manager and team president because the owner, that delusional fuck James Dolan, thought the team should be in the playoffs this year. they are the youngest team in the league. my only guess is because the Knicks are doing well this season, he thinks the Rangers should be right there with them.

let alone they have the game tonight with Washington that should be the let's go kill Tom Wilson game. of course, it won't be now.

the season finale of Young Rock was good last night.

NXT was fucking great last night.

Mayans M.C. was really great last night. next week is the season finale.

Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW and The Masked Singer.

the New York Yankees defeated Houston last night, 7-3. hopefully the fans boo the shit out of the Astros again tonight.

grocery shopping today was more busy than i would have liked. plus, i can't stand the number of people that have stopped wearing masks now. this is why this fucking pandemic will go on forever.

i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Roma in the second leg of the semi finals in the Europa League.

the hours just start to bleed together...

i had another all-nighter last night. for shits and giggles, i decided to see if the WWE cards i have are worth anything. well, holy shit. a few of them are actually worth some money. fuck me. so, i went through all of those last night, and that made me look again at some football cards, etc. and boom, 5 AM. i went to bed and was up again a little before 10. as soon as i got up, i heard my mom say that Kroger had called and her pills were ready. so, after the morning piss, i went there and picked up all her meds, some bananas, some other fruit and a coffee cake. i took a power nap this afternoon and with the weather changing here, i woke up with a fucking headache that felt like i had been drinking for the last 15 hours straight. and sure enough, mom sent me to Taco Bell to get lunch. originally she wanted Chinese food, but since i am apparently the only one that remembers what all that salt does to her, i said no.

here are your highlights from the NBA last night:

the Yankees swept the Red Sox last night, 6-3. Chapman is back as the Yankee's closer. that should make the bullpen a little deeper. they start a series with Tampa tonight in the Bronx.

Monday Night Raw was good last night, for the most part.

I May Destroy You was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Axios was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Deadliest Catch and Hard Knocks.

i have watched some of the NBA and NHL this afternoon. i'll probably do more of the same tonight as well.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i have trash to pickup here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

and here comes the snow...

we got a couple inches of snow last night. there's supposed to be a couple more on the way this evening. i was thrilled to see that the driveway was already cleared when i got up this morning. and much to my surprise, the newspaper was at the front door. i wouldn't mind if that's the case tomorrow as well. mom has her injection at noon tomorrow and depending on the weather, i'm not sure how early we will have to leave. the roads were fine today for her physical therapy.

now for a little poetry news... i heard back from The Blake-Jones Review on the poems i sent last month. they decided to pass on them. i wrote 7 poems today while mom was doing physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. i like most of them.

i did some cleaning around the house yesterday. mom was slightly shocked.

WWE TLC was pretty good last night. it could have been better, but i've been saying that for years now.

the season finale of Watchmen was fucking great last night. i seriously hope there is a season 2.

Dublin Murders was really good last night.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Shameless was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Nashville. hopefully the boys will get a win.

the New Orleans Saints play their final home game of the regular season tonight against the Colts. the Falcons did the Saints a favor yesterday by winning out in San Francisco, so i'm hoping the Saints will win tonight and send the NFC playoffs into chaos.

i listened to episode 269 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom gets her injection. i'm really hoping that goes well as she is fucking miserable with pain these days.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

happy cinco de oh what the hell was that?

i woke up this morning at halftime of the Manchester United game. they were winning 1-0, so i was tempted to not watch the game at all. but, after taking the morning piss and my blood sugar, i decided to watch the second half. silly me to think United would beat a team that has already been relegated. United hit the woodwork a couple times but ultimately couldn't get more than a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. with Chelsea's 3-0 win today, United is eliminated from having any chance to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League. joy. not sure how they are going to get players to come to a team that will play in the Europa League next season. but honestly, they need o sell off nearly all of the squad and just start the fuck over.

i wrote 3 poems last night. i'll type those up after i get this blog done.

4 years ago today. my father was put into the ground. i have never been to his grave. i have no clue if i ever will go.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to the Twins, 7-3. hopefully, they can win the series later this afternoon.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

the Kentucky Derby was fucking crazy yesterday.

ROH was pretty good last night.

The Shop was excellent last night.

Saturday Night Live was great last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Barry, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Billions and The Chi.

i do plan on watching some of the NBA and NHL playoff games today.

day of the dead

well, the rain finally stopped. at least for a few hours. we ended with 6.1 inches of rain over the last 2+ days. and of course, like clockwork, it has started back up. joy.

the New York Rangers found a way again last night to piss away a lead in the closing seconds of a game. but, for the second straight game, they won in the shootout. the Rangers defeated Anaheim last night, 3-2. that's a good way to close the road trip.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was hilarious last night.

Young Sheldon was very funny last night.

Will & Grace was great last night.

i did watch a good amount of soccer last night. both of the knockout games last night in the MLS playoffs were excellent.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Pod Save America.

i'll be at UD Arena tonight with mom watching Dayton play an exhibition game against Capital. i'm very interested to see how good Dayton is going to be this season. and, the arena looks completely different now. i can't wait to see that.

i do plan on watching WWE Crown Jewel today at noon.

i'm hoping they call to say the car is ready sometime before we leave to go to the game.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. considering i will need to do the grocery shopping, Manchester United plays early tomorrow and Ohio State plays at noon... there might be a blog sometime after that. or maybe even later.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

one of those days where you get so lonely it feels natural

i suppose that's the problem with always being a loner. you get so damn lonely at times that you don't even recognize it. and i've lived long enough to know complaining gets you nowhere. i have no clue where all this shit came from today, although today is 1 year since my father's funeral. i fully expect that fucker to haunt me until the day i die. none of us will be lucky enough for that to happen soon though.

breaking news... the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and timely hitting as well and HOLY SHIT, they won 7-0. finally. that stops the losing streak and more importantly, allowed me to drink. hopefully tonight they can start a winning streak, a totally fucking radical concept this season.

i thought NXT was pretty good last night. it's going to take me a while to get used to all these guys that used to work in TNA now being in NXT.

Lucha Underground last night was awesome. a No Mas match between 2 women that ends up with blood and as much brutality as men would do was fucking amazing to watch. hats off to Sexy Star and Mariposa for an instant classic.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory, WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.

i listened to the latest episode of Seton Calling this morning. i really enjoyed the episode, especially since i am one of those Star Wars nerds. you can check out the episode by going here:

my uncle is out of the hospital. i guess they are having something over the weekend for Mother's Day that mom is invited to. so i guess it will be another weekend indoors for me. i'm really not in the mood to see the cousin that molested me.

i do need to get my creative cap on and make up a card for Mother's Day. i believe mom likes it when i get creative with the word fuck in her cards.

i did watch what the Cleveland Cavaliers did last night. un-fucking-believable.

i also watched some playoff hockey last night. i will laugh my ass off if Washington bows out once again before even making the conference finals.

i've been achy all damn day. the pills aren't working, coffee didn't work. the massage chair didn't work. so, there must be some weather coming or is near that is really fucking with me. it's the kind of aches where you would love to crawl in bed and just die.

good times.

if the Yankees win tonight, i believe i will be turning to hard liquor this evening.

i hope everyone is feeling better than i am. it's not that high of a bar to get to.

and now he's nothing but a ghost

i had a hard time falling asleep last night, which i was prepared for. i took a shower late and did everything i could to get my body at ease. when i woke up at 8 in the morning, i guess the trick worked. of course, it was only 3 hours of sleep, but 3 more than i thought i was going to get. i wasn't exactly sure what to expect today. but, i figure it's not everyday you get to see your father in a casket, so i might as well wear a shirt with a collar. i met a couple of his step-children. i saw his oldest sister for the first time in 25 years. at 10 AM sharp, we took the drive deep into the VA facility for the service. when i was asked to be a pallbearer i was a little stunned, but i agreed figuring this would help this feel real to me. after that was over, the service began. my father was in the Air Force, so they had to do the whole flag and taps ceremony. both of those always get me to cry. those tears lasted right until they handed the flag to his wife's daughter. not that i'm the oldest next of kin or anything. then there were some prayers and then the reverend from the church my father went to spoke. i'm not sure who the fuck he was talking about when he spoke about a kind and generous man that loved church. as i told my sister when the service ended, i'm still thinking about that kind and generous man having his hands around my neck trying to kill me.

since my sister and i weren't given the opportunity to speak at the service, my sister wanted to pass on what she was going to say. it doesn't have all the colorful language that i was going to use, but the sentiment is the right one:

The man I have heard described today and for the last 2 weeks is not the man my brother nor I had the luxury of knowing. I will never get answers to the many questions I have. In order to close the chapter and move on from today I have to take from this, that my father's inability to ever say 'i love u' or 'i'm proud of u' to my brother or i and his 19 year absence from my life is proof that humans are capable of changing. I take solace that he didn't die alone and unloved and as awful as the treatment that my brother and I received, that treatment was probably part of his transformation into a human being capable of giving love to those that loved him.

that was much kinder than i would have been. as for anything i would have said, i'm sure that will come out in the forms of poems over the next few years.

i did find out today that my father retired from the post office in 2009. i suppose he had no choice when he got the diagnosis of dementia. that means he worked at the post office for 37 years. no wonder he died at 68. i suppose the next shoe to drop will be the reading of the will. that will probably get really fucking interesting, especially if the fucker was dumb enough to not list me or my sister in it.

i didn't go to the church afterwards to listen to more bullshit. i ended up going out to lunch with my mother, sister and two of her friends. after a few drinks and some food, it was back to being just another fucking day in my life.

time for a quick musical break and hopefully a few laughs:

the New York Yankees lost last night 3-1. to be honest, i didn't watch any of the game.

the New York Rangers lost 1-0 last night to fall behind in the series 2-1. sadly, i watched more of that game than i should have. fucking frustrating beyond belief. and of course i will probably miss some of Game 4 because of the farm auction.

Gotham was fucking brilliant. that was an amazing first season. i can't wait for the next one.

Monday Night Raw was actually really good last night. it figures, since there was so much else on last night. here's a few of the highlights:
and the image that will make me smile for weeks to come:

to be honest i didn't watch much of The Voice last night and didn't vote at all. so i have no clue who is getting voted off tonight. regardless, i'm pretty sure that Sawyer will end up winning this season.

the Kurt Cobain documentary on HBO last night was brilliant. so many memories that brought back. and considering that was right around the time my parent's got divorced... you could say that moments of that last night were truly a mind fuck.

i didn't get to watch any of the David Letterman special from last night. but, i do have it on the DVR so i will hopefully watch it sometime this week.

as for tv tonight, the Yankees play up in Toronto again. there's a WWE special on ESPN that i will have on the DVR. after i watch The Voice, i believe Undateable is live tonight. so, that should make for some interesting viewing. and at some point i will fit in Deadliest Catch. other than that, i think i'm just going to try to stay cool. the weather is a bit balmy today.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone enjoyed their Cinco de Mayo. hopefully the drinks didn't get the better of you.

drinking myself to sleep

welcome to the 23rd day of National Poetry Month. today, we're back to the random YouTube videos. enjoy:

the New York Rangers started like absolute shit last night. they got dominated at every aspect of the game. thankfully, they were only down 1-0. i guess AV lit a fire in the first intermission and the boys responded. they tied the game and eventually got it to overtime. and then, Kevin Hayes scored the biggest goal of his life:
that win gives the Rangers a 3-1 series lead and the chance to finish off the Penguins on Friday at MSG. here are the highlights from the game:

Lucha Underground was great last night. even if you are not a fan of pro wrestling, you'd be entertained. enjoy:

NXT was excellent last night as well. 2 matches really had me excited:

the New York Yankees made me look like a fool and absolutely whipped one of the best pitchers in the American League last night, 13-4. they go for the series win this afternoon before they start a weekend series against the Mets.

got some great music on NoiseTrade last night. i'll be sure to include the link in the music section below.

here's some things that made me laugh last night:

tonight on the television docket will be some playoff hockey, The Big Bang Theory, The Comedians, Louie and Lip Sync Battle. the DVR will be busy.

i did catch up on Deadliest Catch last night while enjoying my victory beers. yet another excellent episode. i feel for Edgar on the Northwestern, having a bad back fucking sucks.

that's all for me today. i'm hoping the weather is going to get warmer. but, seeing that it got down to 28 degrees last night, i highly doubt it.
