manchester is red again...

so, as i was finishing up the blog yesterday, some kind of miracle was taking place. i wanted to wait to write about it as i knew i couldn't do it justice at the end of yesterday's blog.

Manchester United was trailing Manchester City 1-0 until the 88th minute. Amad got tackled in the box and it was an obvious penalty. Bruno stepped up and scored to make it 1-1. less than 2 minutes later, Amad made a great run behind and Lisandro Martinez made a great pass. a little flick from Amad to go around the keeper and some more foolish defending from City and it was 2-1 United. they held on win the derby and the town is now red again. given that the day started with Rashford and Garnacho being told to stay home, this will go down as the day Ruben Amorim truly made his marker as the next great Manchester United coach. i'm really hoping this will galvanize the club and the march up the table will now begin.

the New York Rangers lost at St. Louis last night, 3-2.

i did watch Joker: Folie a Deux last night. i thought it was better than what most people thought, but clearly a fever dream in an acid trip with some music. parts of it i really liked and parts of it i was basically falling asleep. let's just say, i didn't keep it on the DVR.

The Agency was excellent last night.

Dexter: Original Sin was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and the series finale of What We Do in the Shadows.

there are two NFL games tonight. i doubt i watch much of either.

i did make a trip to the bank today to make a deposit.

it has been raining all day it seems. i did get a nice long nap in this morning with some ice on my back.

the New Orleans Saints lost at home to Washington yesterday, 20-19. at least the Saints made it interesting late.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i'm still waiting on 2 gifts for my mother to show up. at least i know both are in the United States, so that's a good sign.

and i think the stuff i sent in the mail actually got to where it was supposed to go today.

i did get 3 Christmas cards in the mail today. that was unexpected.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then kids...

where do the hours go...

we had a nice thunder and lightning show here last night. so when i woke up this morning and my back was tighter than normal, i figured it must have rained overnight. sure enough. it's struggled to get to 60 degrees today. the seasons have officially changed.

the New York Rangers made their final cuts today. i'm really happy that a few of the kids have made the roster. of course, with Stepan being injured, everything will change when he gets back. i'll have to try to remember to take my camera when i see them play in Columbus on Saturday.

i did pretty damn good picking NFL games yesterday. if Seattle wins tonight, i'll go 12-3 for the week. that's a nice rebound from last week. i have won one of my fantasy matches by 17 points. i'm trailing the other by 2 points, but i have Seattle's kicker tonight. so, hopefully that will be another win. sort of amazing if it does happen as i had two players get zero points yesterday.

the New Orleans Saints won in OT yesterday, 37-31. as entertaining as it was frustrating, i was happy to have that victory beer after that one. i truly needed it.

the Sunday night shows were excellent. Boardwalk Empire had a nice little twist at the end of it that should set up the next few weeks. The Strain was brilliant. and it ended with the perfect cliffhanger for next season. Total Divas was interesting for me, mostly because of the behind the scenes details with Daniel Bryan's injuries. Last Week Tonight was funny and eye opening at the same time. and finally, Homeland was great. the show certainly started a little slow but quickly picked up the pace that then lasted for the next 90 minutes. next week should be good.

tonight is another clusterfuck on television for me. i'll hope that YouTube helps for what i miss on The Big Bang Theory and The Voice. i'm hoping to watch most of Gotham and Monday Night Raw. then, i'm hoping to catch the Men in Blazers show at midnight. and sometime in between all that, watch a little baseball and football. the Elvis wall of televisions would be good for tonight.

my back has been really in misery since i did the dishes this morning. i don't think i pulled anything or anything like that... i just think the weather is kicking my ass again. hopefully i can get a good stretch in here soon.

well, i need to go do some fantasy hockey homework and think about what we're doing for dinner tonight.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

as ready as i can be

i've spent most of today bouncing between the Yankees doubleheader and trying to find some bookstores that might be interested in carrying my new book.

so in between a lot of hurry up and wait, there was baseball.

the Yankees split their doubleheader in Cleveland, losing game 1 1-0 and winning game 2 7-0. game 1 was really a tip your hat to the other pitcher as he was really dominant. a 4 hit complete game shutout. in game 2, the bats came to life and the Yankee pitching was good. the best thing of all today, no injuries and there wasn't an abundance of pitchers used. i'll take a split like that anytime.

as for the bookstores, i think i have found a few that might carry it. i'm pretty confident that Quimby's in Chicago will. they carried my spoken word tape years ago. other than that, it's basically a toss-up. if anyone has a bookstore in mind, feel free to contact me or leave something in the comment box. or better yet, if you own or work at a bookstore and are interested, contact me at anytime. it appears i don't really sleep anymore.

i'm as ready as i can be for game 7 tonight between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals. i feel good, got a good vibe going, didn't do anything to fuck with the hockey gods, so i feel like i've done my part. now, it's up to the players.

i imagine during intermissions and commercials tonight i will check out some of The Voice and Monday Night Raw. but, i imagine i'll have to catch most of that tomorrow after i get done mowing the grass. it only got up into the 50's today, not exactly grass cutting weather.

hope everyone is good. i'll be sure to update the blog if i get any concrete news on any bookstores carrying my book. in the meantime, hop on over to Interior Noise Press and get your copy of Sofisticated White Trash today like my good friend Steve Burdine did. i swear, the book will actually make you laugh. i GUARANTEE it.
