finally, the weekend...

amazingly, i got close to 6 hours of sleep last night. for me, that's the equivalent of getting almost 10. so, i was wide awake this morning. as i was getting ready to come down the stairs, i noticed 4 deer in the backyard. it was pretty funny as they were grazing along and then came up to the fence. i imagined that one of them said, who the fuck put this here. 5 minutes later, they were still figuring out how to get around it. as entertaining as that may be, i got on the computer as i wanted to get my shit done early this morning.

the Rangers won last night, 2-1 in a shootout. watching it was like trying to pull teeth. they were playing a team of guys that should be in the AHL, and were getting outplayed by a mile. but, 2 points is 2 points. here are the only highlights of the game that mattered:
i believe their next game is on Sunday against San Jose. they will have to play much better if they want to get a win in that one.

my mother was crushed by the Jets losing last night. she didn't expect them to win, but to get that close... i think i have created a monster now. she never cared about sports until my passion for them overtook the house. i laugh when my mother starts cussing at the television now. speaking of cussing, my running back from New England basically did fucking nothing last night. so, i'm trailing in both of my fantasy football matches. good times.

in a few hours i'll be on the way to Columbus to watch the Blue Jackets take on Calgary tonight. i have a guy on my fantasy team from each team. i do hope it is a little more exciting than the last one. since the Rangers aren't playing tonight, i won't be looking at the out of town scoreboard as much. not sure where we'll be eating after the game with my sister, but since she's driving, i suppose it's wherever she takes us.

hopefully i'll get home in time to watch the season finale of The Knick on Cinemax and the premiere of the Foo Fighters show on HBO. i get the feeling i'm going to be up late tonight.

thankfully, Manchester United doesn't play until Monday and Ohio State plays at 3:30 pm, so i'll be able to get some sleep.

i should be on here tomorrow before the Ohio State game, unless mom wants to go to the store and then who knows when i'll squeeze in a post.

hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

as ready as i can be

i've spent most of today bouncing between the Yankees doubleheader and trying to find some bookstores that might be interested in carrying my new book.

so in between a lot of hurry up and wait, there was baseball.

the Yankees split their doubleheader in Cleveland, losing game 1 1-0 and winning game 2 7-0. game 1 was really a tip your hat to the other pitcher as he was really dominant. a 4 hit complete game shutout. in game 2, the bats came to life and the Yankee pitching was good. the best thing of all today, no injuries and there wasn't an abundance of pitchers used. i'll take a split like that anytime.

as for the bookstores, i think i have found a few that might carry it. i'm pretty confident that Quimby's in Chicago will. they carried my spoken word tape years ago. other than that, it's basically a toss-up. if anyone has a bookstore in mind, feel free to contact me or leave something in the comment box. or better yet, if you own or work at a bookstore and are interested, contact me at anytime. it appears i don't really sleep anymore.

i'm as ready as i can be for game 7 tonight between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals. i feel good, got a good vibe going, didn't do anything to fuck with the hockey gods, so i feel like i've done my part. now, it's up to the players.

i imagine during intermissions and commercials tonight i will check out some of The Voice and Monday Night Raw. but, i imagine i'll have to catch most of that tomorrow after i get done mowing the grass. it only got up into the 50's today, not exactly grass cutting weather.

hope everyone is good. i'll be sure to update the blog if i get any concrete news on any bookstores carrying my book. in the meantime, hop on over to Interior Noise Press and get your copy of Sofisticated White Trash today like my good friend Steve Burdine did. i swear, the book will actually make you laugh. i GUARANTEE it.
