the dog days strike again...

i had to run out and get some prescriptions for my mother today. i made it back home before the contractors showed up to look at our kitchen. she asked what the weather was like and i told her it was probably 78 outside but it feels like 94. i knew she wanted to go walking later but that changed her mind completely. the meeting with the contractors went well. if the estimate is within what mom wants it to be, i feel like we have found the right people to do our kitchen.

the Yankees lost last night at the White Sox, 5-1. they are back in last place again and i am at the point where i couldn't give a shit anymore.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

i did catch some of the highlights from the Leagues Cup last night. i'll probably watch some of that tonight as well.

sometimes, pain is i all i have...

it's one of those days where my back has been tight and nothing has worked. but, there's shit to do and i'm a stubborn old fuck anymore.

i did send out 16 poems today. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Synchronized Chaos; 6 to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the transfer window closed today. i was hoping Manchester United was going to do more than just finish the sell off of Lukaku to Inter Milan. silly me.

the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore last night, 14-2. they start a series tonight in Toronto.

NXT was a little light on the wrestling last night, with most of the episode setting up Takeover: Toronto this Saturday.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure Jack will be evicted tonight. the episode won't air here until the middle of the night because of preseason football. i figure i'll follow online at some point.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Holey Moley, Big Brother and Baskets.

i did listen to episode 250 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i think it's supposed to storm here in a bit. joy.

i need to go take a shower, so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

what's the over/under on how soon i'm dead or an addict?

it was raining just hard enough last night that the pain in my body seemed to be radiating. it's almost sticking a wire hanger in an outlet and the shock you get is a constant wave that pulses. i decided the best way to combat that last night was gin. of course, this morning i had 3 poems to write. i typed those up this afternoon and they are really good. i imagine they will be included in the next round of submissions this month.

the New York Yankees won last night in Chicago, 4-3 in 13 innings. amazingly, Sonny Gray got the victory. the Yankees go for the sweep of the White Sox tonight.

Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was really good last night as well.

Miz & Mrs. was fucking hilarious last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was great last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Fuck That's Delicious was really funny last night.

Hard Knocks was good last night. it's easy to see why the Cleveland Browns suck.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground and Big Brother. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

mom had a guy out here last night to look at our landscaping. i figure between the new windows, landscaping, redoing the bathrooms and redoing the kitchen so we actually have a dishwasher, there will be no money left by the time she reaches her mid 70's. so, i guess i better start working on a fucking novel to make some money. i've got an old movie script i was doing years ago that i might as well use as a template.

this woman is talking to me online about bitcoin. god, i feel old.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her podiatrist's appointment.

when genius strikes

so you can just imagine the poem when i notice a woman with down syndrome picking her nose while an elderly couple is arguing and i'm thinking of killing myself. welcome to my afternoon in the waiting room at the doctor's office. of course, i got mom there early and nearly 20 minutes after the appointment was scheduled to start, she finally got called to the back. apparently her doctor's nurse was off today and the other dimwits in the office forgot that mom was there.

i missed probably the first 30 minutes of Manchester United vs. Real Madrid today in the UEFA Super Cup. United didn't look like they kicked into gear until they went down 2-0. sadly, they could never find the quality to score the equalizer and lost 2-1. oh well. hopefully they have another signing before the silly season ends and have a great campaign in the Premier League.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. i don't think i'll ever get tired of watching Braun Strowman beat up Roman Reigns. or Samoa Joe attacking Roman from behind. plus, i love the slow burn the writers are doing with a possible Shield reunion. brilliant stuff there. all in all, an excellent show last night.

Brillo Box (3 cents off) was really good last night. it was almost a little pop art education for anyone who only knows Andy Warhol from that scene and no one else.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Hard Knocks, Deadliest Catch and The Jim Jefferies Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at Toronto. hopefully they win as i would like to drink.

i figure i will send out some poems tomorrow morning. i will probably do the blog after that most likely.

i have plenty of trash to pick up and for some reason mom dirtied nearly every dish in the house on Sunday and just let them sit. so, you know who gets to do dishes this evening. let's just say the music will be loud and i will have every fucking cuss word on the tip of my motherfucking tongue.

i got a random email from my first girlfriend today. let's just say i hope beyond hope that leads to something.

just another sunny day spent dreaming about the end of the world

that subject title implies that i'm a negative person. it's only mostly true. i believe this is what happens to humans when their childhoods get stolen from them. the instinct to survive takes over way too early. shit like plan for the best prepare for the worst gets drilled into your brain. i find myself at times just laying in my bed, staring at the ceiling. i'm 40 years old, single with no kids, living with my mother. that's the most depressing manifest destiny i can think of. it's hard enough to keep going when you're 93% sure the woman you were meant to be with either was aborted or died in a car accident. i don't exactly enjoy being a lost soul, but it tends to make wonderful poetry at times. and those of you who have religion on the tip of your tongues while reading this, keep in mind i spent most of that stolen childhood in the church. never expose the hypocrisy of Christians to a young genius who can figure out a scam when he sees one. i was baptized on April Fool's Day. that's poetry in itself. i've read the New Testament and actually believe in it. i know WAY too many Christians that don't. perhaps that's why the world fucking sucks.

my dreams have been extremely mundane here lately. it's mostly just me walking. barren lands and shadowy faces. i wake up and can tell i've spent the entire night tossing and turning. i might sleep for 5 hours, but i doubt i'm really getting any rest. and these are the moments where i think of Dylan Thomas and smile. someone gets that reference and understands. the rest of you should do a Google search.

as you might imagine, i'm on the verge of another poetical flood. i think i might have a good 10 or so swimming in my mind. i figure they'll start to come when i'm taking a shower or a shit.

the Sunday night shows were really good last night. Big Brother is getting somewhat interesting now, mostly because the dumb asses are finally figuring out who is actually running the house.

Power was spectacular last night. it's getting really interesting now. Ballers was hilarious. Vice Principals took me back to rivalry week in high school. oh the memories. Ray Donovan was good. Roadies was excellent. i believe i have a new celebrity crush, hello Halsey. The Night Of took a few more twists and turns. such a great show. and Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw and then Dean Ambrose on the Stone Cold Podcast on WWE Network afterwards.

i may check out the USA men's basketball game later today. i believe they play Venezuela.

i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast late last night. i highly recommend it. you can check it out by going here: https://soundcloud.com/samrobertsshow/sam-cathy-022-food-for-thought

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the link below in the music section.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. we're supposed to get another heat wave coming through here starting tomorrow. 5 fucking days of the chance for pop up storms and highs near 90+. good times.

it doesn't have to be pretty to be effective...

let me start this out with a little confession. i completely forgot to do my little flashback Friday portion yesterday. and since that is now 2 weeks in a row i have forgot, i'm going to make it the whenever the fuck i remember flashback. so, here are two poems that i really enjoy. "trash" is a poem i wrote while walking the streets of Chicago when i was 22 years old. i was with my sister and her friend. i believe i ended up writing the poem in the margin of a place mat at the House of Blues. and it is one of my most published poems. you can find it by going here:
http://figmentofyourowncontamination.blogspot.com/2010/09/trash-jj-campbell.html

my poem "it could have been something more" basically describes my morning. plus, i know an artist in Sweden that just loves these types of poems. you can find that one by going here:
http://thecamelsaloon.blogspot.com/2013/01/it-could-have-been-something-more.html

i believe whatever my mom had yesterday i had this morning. good times.

the New York Yankees lost 2-1 last night in 10 innings. why Girardi had a rookie pitching to the heart of the Blue Jays order i'll never fucking understand. they play again this afternoon. the division lead is now down to 3 1/2 games.

NJPW was excellent last night. of course anytime you get to watch AJ Styles, Nakamura and Okada wrestle, it is a treat.

Treehouse Masters was good last night. it was interesting to see how far that industry has come in 15 years.

i'd like to thank Directv for helping us figure out what was wrong with our one remote. now that i know what buttons to push, i won't have to make that call again.

enjoy some music kids:

i didn't stay up that late last night, as i wanted to get some sleep. of course, that didn't happen. so here's some funny shit:

now i'm fucking hungry.

i was up and eating breakfast as the Manchester United game was starting this morning. you could tell that United had a bunch of new faces in new places as everyone was cautious as hell to start the match. but thank you to a Kyle Walker own goal (first time in Premier League history the first goal of a season was an own goal) United was up 1-0 at half. and thank you to Sergio Romero for keeping it that way in the second half. all in all, i'll gladly take the 3 points. the squad will get better over time. but i still say they need another striker and another central defender. that being said, i'll go enjoy my victory beer.

i'm supposed to go to an alumni soccer game tonight. hopefully i feel better by then as it would be nice to see some people i know. this is one of the misfortunes of not being on Facebook. of course, i remember that i was only popular in high school because i always had drugs and alcohol around. when that graces my head every now and then, i know it's not a misfortune at all.

on the DVR tonight will be Power and ROH.

i did a little work outside this morning with my mother. we needed to help this young tree that is getting destroyed by all the fucking rain we've had this summer. i'm hoping the stake and some velcro rope made for trees will do the trick. plus, some of the bird feeders needed some fresh food and the weeds needed pulled. all in all, other than listening to the neighbor talk about church, it wasn't that bad outside.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone is doing well. go have a great weekend. call if you need bail money or help burying a body.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
