one thing you learn when you live and die by how the sports teams you follow are doing... death is a likely scenario sometimes. between the Yankees, Rangers and Saints last night, i was completely willing to find the tallest building and take a leap. fuck me.
the Yankees lost last night in Houston, 3-2. they are now down 2-0 in the series. now, i know a series really doesn't begin until a home team loses. with that in mind, the Yankees better win all 3 games at Yankee Stadium or this series will be over rather quickly.
the New York Rangers lost last night to the winless San Jose Sharks, coached by the former Rangers coach, David Quinn, 3-2 in OT. the Rangers got completely outplayed in the 3rd period and OT. that was fucking brutal to watch.
and then the final punch to the dick last night, the New Orleans Saints pissed away a lead and lost at Arizona, 42-34. Andy Dalton threw 6 TD's last night, but 2 of those were for Arizona. thank fucking god i didn't watch any of the game.
the MLS playoffs last night certainly did not disappoint.
Vice News Tonight had two great episodes this week.
the season finale of Little Demon last night was great.
Atlanta was fucking brilliant last night.
Young Sheldon was very funny last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:
the New York Knicks play tonight at home against the Pistons.
i did go to Menards today. i found pretty much everything i was looking for. i was a little shocked that the Christmas shit was already out. fuck, Halloween hasn't happened yet.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning. i know around noon or so, Ohio State and Manchester United will both be playing.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
thanks to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
so, let me start off where this thing left off at yesterday.
i went to Rite Aid to get my pills. only one prescription was ready. apparently, i called the other two in a day early and they were waiting to fill it so insurance would pay for it. as much as i hate those fucking rules, i do understand. after that, i made my way to the place to get my haircut. there was a 30 minute wait or so. i didn't mind since i was in the air conditioning. of course, just my luck, i was behind a family of 6 getting haircuts. fuck me. eventually, i got my haircut. it certainly feels really good to get the mop that was growing on my head cut off. now, it is back to how i prefer. the hair on my chin is longer than the hair on my head. the stylist that did it is pregnant, so i gave her a very nice tip. she appreciated it.
after that, i went to McDonald's to get my mother a frozen Coke. there was no line, so that made me really happy. after i got home, took a shower and then started doing the dishes. about halfway through the dishes, it started to storm. and then the power went out. it was out for about 10 minutes or so and then came back on. i hurried up and got the dishes done and set all the clocks again.
at 8 last night, right as i was getting ready to watch Monday Night Raw, the power went out again. this time, it was out for over 2 hours. i made sure mom and i both had flashlights. we both recalled all the horror stories of when the power used to go out at the farm. at least where we live now, you can actually flush the toilet more than just one time during a power outage. so, while the power was out, i got a little reading done and wrote one poem. i typed that poem up late last night. i think it is pretty good.
i caught the last hour of Monday Night Raw. i watched most of the highlights on YouTube last night. i certainly don't think i missed much.
Miz & Mrs was pretty funny last night.
i didn't get a chance to watch Don't Forget the Lyrics until this afternoon. it was pretty good.

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, the season finale of Mayans, Deadliest Catch and Holey Moley.
it has been hotter than shit today. it is currently 93 degrees with a feels like temperature of 106. fuck me.
the storms that came through last night nearly destroyed one of our tomato plants. nothing like trying to save that in this fucking heat.
i need to do a load of towels, but i won't be doing those until the sun goes down. i probably won't put out the trash until late tonight as well.
and since this heat warning is supposed to last until tomorrow night, i can just imagine how much fun i will have grocery shopping tomorrow.
here are your highlights from Game 5 of the NBA Finals:
the Yankees start a series tonight against Tampa Bay at Yankee Stadium. hopefully, the Yankees will keep on winning.
the USMNT plays at El Salvador tonight in the CONCACAF Nations League. this should be a nice test for the team. i'm hoping the kids find a way to win tonight.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
until tomorrow kids...

i was walking into the garage today and i must have stepped wrong or landed wrong and i swear i could feel my right arch just simply rip into two. it's like it split right down the fucking middle. of course, both of my arches are abnormally high as the doctor put it years ago, so yeah. i'm going to be interested to see how long this hurts. i don't want to go to the doctor yet again, but, if i have to, i have to do it before the end of the year. joy.
mom and i went out shopping today. she wanted to go look for a new vehicle but after we left our late lunch, she said she was out of energy. she's sort of depressed that she can't do all that she used to do. i tell her to enjoy what she can do, it would be more productive for you. the asshole son, always the voice of reason. we found a bunch of things at Menards today. thankfully, they were having their 11% rebate on everything sale. after nearly 2 hours in there, we went to lunch at Max & Erma's. i've decided i'm going to try to get something i have never had before at these restaurants. something with a bit of spice or actual flavor as mom can't have anything like that anymore. so today was ham, mozzarella and pesto on ciabatta bread. it was excellent.
the New York Rangers won last night over Florida 5-2. it was their first win in regulation this season. they play tomorrow night in Chicago.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.
The Voice was really good last night.
Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

i did type up the 9 poems i wrote yesterday late last night/this morning. nothing like doing a little drinking and typing up poems around 3 in the morning. you'd think i was in my early 20's again. i really like a few of the poems. i probably should send out another batch before the month ends. time will tell.
i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

so, i thought i was going to watch Manchester United play this afternoon. but, mom called and got an eye appointment for this afternoon. between the exam and picking out and paying for her new glasses, by the time we got home the game was over. thankfully, Manchester United won 2-0 at Swansea City to advance in the League Cup.
i wrote 6 poems last night. i typed them last night as well. i really like a few of these. i think i might try to do another round of submissions before the month is over.
Monday Night Raw was pretty interesting last night. they are really ramping up the build to Survivor Series. the Smackdown crew "invaded" Raw last night and beat the hell out of some of the roster. it should be interesting to see if Raw returns the favor tonight on Smackdown.
The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.
The Voice was pretty good last night. tonight is the end of the battle round.

that subject title implies that i'm a negative person. it's only mostly true. i believe this is what happens to humans when their childhoods get stolen from them. the instinct to survive takes over way too early. shit like plan for the best prepare for the worst gets drilled into your brain. i find myself at times just laying in my bed, staring at the ceiling. i'm 40 years old, single with no kids, living with my mother. that's the most depressing manifest destiny i can think of. it's hard enough to keep going when you're 93% sure the woman you were meant to be with either was aborted or died in a car accident. i don't exactly enjoy being a lost soul, but it tends to make wonderful poetry at times. and those of you who have religion on the tip of your tongues while reading this, keep in mind i spent most of that stolen childhood in the church. never expose the hypocrisy of Christians to a young genius who can figure out a scam when he sees one. i was baptized on April Fool's Day. that's poetry in itself. i've read the New Testament and actually believe in it. i know WAY too many Christians that don't. perhaps that's why the world fucking sucks.
my dreams have been extremely mundane here lately. it's mostly just me walking. barren lands and shadowy faces. i wake up and can tell i've spent the entire night tossing and turning. i might sleep for 5 hours, but i doubt i'm really getting any rest. and these are the moments where i think of Dylan Thomas and smile. someone gets that reference and understands. the rest of you should do a Google search.
as you might imagine, i'm on the verge of another poetical flood. i think i might have a good 10 or so swimming in my mind. i figure they'll start to come when i'm taking a shower or a shit.
the Sunday night shows were really good last night. Big Brother is getting somewhat interesting now, mostly because the dumb asses are finally figuring out who is actually running the house.
Power was spectacular last night. it's getting really interesting now. Ballers was hilarious. Vice Principals took me back to rivalry week in high school. oh the memories. Ray Donovan was good. Roadies was excellent. i believe i have a new celebrity crush, hello Halsey. The Night Of took a few more twists and turns. such a great show. and Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual:

last night was one of the more bizarre sports nights i can remember. and it certainly didn't include the amount of alcohol i was hoping for...
for National Poetry Month, i give you:
let's start with the afternoon... Manchester United played much, MUCH better than i thought they were going to. in the second half, Marcus Rashford unleashed a beauty of a shot to give them the lead. they eventually went up 2-0 before West Ham woke up. at this point, i knew this game was going to be a nail biter. sure enough... West Ham scored to make it 2-1 but thankfully, United held on from there to get the unlikely win. this puts them in the semis of the FA Cup against Everton.
i had that victory beer right after the game, hoping there would be more. i hate when i am outed as a fucking fool.
the New York Yankees lost last night 7-2. the game was close at one point but the bullpen i raved about finally shit the bed. oh well. they are winning tonight as i'm typing this. if they hold on to win tonight it would be another series win. they play tomorrow night back at home against Seattle.
the New York Rangers dominated the first period but like most of the fucking season, they forgot to score. and then came the moment of the night where i could taste a little vomit in my mouth. Marc Staal somehow got his stick into the mask of The King and just happened to get him in the eye. in another bizarre twist, AV leaves him in the game. so, naturally, Pittsburgh scores like 30 seconds later or something like that. the backup goalie starts the second period. after another period of dominating but not scoring, enter Dan Girardi thinking he's actually still a good at his job. instead of getting the puck deep he tries to get it through 4 people and wouldn't you know it, the dumb fuck forgets Cindy Crosby is behind him. breakaway... 2-0 Penguins. at this point i was so fucking angry i stopped watching the game and put on Lucha Underground. it was a wise decision as the Rangers lost 5-2. thankfully, they don't play again until Saturday. that should give The King time to get better (please god) and for the rest of the team to pull their heads out of their asses.
Lucha Underground was great last night. i love the Trios matches. talk about a wonderful thing to watch.
NXT was really good as well last night. i could watch Nakamura do just about anything and be entertained.
i did watch Golden State set the record for NBA wins in the regular season last night. they do look like they know they have to win the title for the record to mean anything.
and i did watch Kobe Bryant's ridiculous final game last night. if you love Kobe, you'll talk about the 60 points he scored. if you hate Kobe (as you should), you'll laugh and remember that it took the fucker 50 shots to get those 60 points. any player worth a shit could do something like that with 50 fucking shots.
if i wasn't a Sacramento fan, i'd say you had a great career. but since i am, thank fucking god you are retiring. good riddance.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.
mom and i both had prescriptions we had to pick up this afternoon. so after the trip to the grocery store, we went out to lunch. i decided i was going to be a good boy and got chicken with avocado on whole wheat. wasn't bad, though i probably shouldn't have had the fries. i think i know no matter what i do i'm going to be a diabetic. i lost the genetic lottery on that one.
mom has physical therapy tomorrow afternoon, so i don't know if i will do the blog before or after that. i do know i hope to write some poems while i'm down there. i'd like to get a submission or two out next week.
that's all for me kids. the sun was out again today. two days in a row. the world must be ending.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
